Inventory Revaluation Object - DI API support for FIFO

In 2007 A was included the FIFO method in Inventory Revaluation transaction, but is relevant to have this support in SDK object on DI API.

HELLO,
Each Profit center has a dirstibution rule (where the profite center distribution is 100%).
I documents, you can define it manually (as costingcode, also possible to enter distributio rule there).
You can also enter multiple dimensions in Stocktransfer object by this rule, where inside the rule you can define the relevance of costs centers.

Support for ragged hierarchies?

Are ragged (i.e. variable depth) hierarchies supported in Universe Designer? Do any of the Business Objects tools provide support for ragged hierarchies or is this considered an ETL/data modeling issue?
We are embarking on a project using the Data Services, Universe Designer and Xcelsius tools and we are trying to figure out how to handle ragged hierarchies.

I have gone thought the document of Universe design tool :- SAP Business Objects XI 4.0 created on 2010-12-24 on SAP Portal .
This document dont have any information regarding the Ragged Hierarchy .
Can you please let me know whether downloads of SAP Business Objects BI 4.0 which are available on SAP Portal Supports ragged Hierarchy or We need to wait for next patch or release?

What's the DTW template for Inventory Revaluation

I need to update standard cost quarterly for all items. But where is the tempalte for inventory revaluation? I cannot find it.

DTW is using oMaterialrevaluation template for Inventory Revaluation
. If you are using Standard Cost, you may DTW by that object. But it is not available to FIFO.

Hi,
One user is having the below error message appear when she attempts to print remittances. This has only started happening since yesterday and all other documents are still printing.
"The requested action is not supported for this object. [message 131-171]"

I have not tried your suggestion till now as I am waiting for the database copy from my client.
Just a quick question, As I already mentioned earlier and I also keep getting the issues from the users reporting that the user's get this error only if they print 'remittance advise reports' has multiple invoices.
The report prints fine if it has single invoice even if it is a check payment.
Will your suggestions address this as well?

Although the status suggests inclusion in v3, in my current version 3.2.20.09 there is nothing.
This is clearly an important issue for those who have voted for it as it scores a perfect 10 on average rating.
Is there any sign of object types being supported in the 4.0EA1 release? There is a strong desire within my organisation to move to a more object-based approach to PL/SQL coding but until we are able to unit test easily there will be no real progress.

Support for DbXml specific functionality in XQuery vs. Shell or API

Is / will there be any support for doing common commands in pure XQuery rather than just programmatically or through the shell? For example, in the shell I can create / list / delete indexes on a container, output query plans, etc. Are the same functions that are called through the shell available as XQuery functions? possibly in a dbxml function namespace?
In a related question, but possibly deserving of a new thread if it doesn't already have one - I know XQuilla has the ability to call registered external functions from parsed XQuery, is there a way to tell DbXml to register a function with XQuilla's static context before using it? that would make it possible for me to add the functionality described above myself without disturbing your distributed code.

Not so handy with C++ (my everday languages are PHP and Java), but if you say it can be done then I'll take a hack at it. If you happen to have examples of how other people have done it and you could point me at them it would be marvelous.
To answer your second question: "bingo." It mostly means less interface work and brings it closer to what SQL can do in relational databases.
The project allows the end user to define their own document structures (schema definitions more or less) and then create instances of these documents in a XML editing interface. For each document type, the end user is also able to define a set of named queries (abstracted function declarations) which lets us captures business rules without customizing our PHP code. Because the structure and queries that will be used against the documents are user defined its fairly impossible for me to automatically setup adequate indexes for the container of each set of documents. So I need an interface to allow the user to create / review / delete the indexes themselves.
We've already created an interface that allows the user to execute arbitrary queries against a selected document. In the future we'd also like this same interface to do result set based content updates (through the XmlModify class) and whole document addition / replacement. So inclusion of index control makes sense as well. We can find ways to use the APIs, it just seems like this could benefit more than just our project.
Placing the functionality from the shell into xquery extension functions seems analogous to having the UPDATE, DELETE and CREATE syntaxes of SQL.

Does Business Objects XI still support RDC for Crystal Reports?

My company develops an application which uses Crystal Reports to present data to the user. We have been using the RDC API through our internal C code for a while now. From the documentation I have found on this site I cannot be certain that BO XI will support RDC. I have found documents discussing the new RAS API and how to migrate applications to RAS. Will BO XI still support RDC or will we be required to write to the new RAS API? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The RDC is a development tool, so your post is better suited under the Development | Other category in the forums.
The RDC is still supported in CR XI (v11.0) and CR XI R2 (v11.5). The RDC has been depricated, so it's no longer receiving development focus, but it will still be supported for the lifecycle of the products it ships with. No firm retirement date has been given to anyone yet, but it's likely that the RDC will be retired in the next release or two.
The RAS API is a very powerful report design API, however it's not a true replacement for the RDC (unless you're using Report Creation API calls with the RDC now). RAS can be used with the .NET, COM (ASP), and Java SDKs.
Depending on how you actually use the RDC you'll want to consider which SDK you're going to migrate to - .NET, or Java, and then consider which API is appropriate.

Installing support for Oracle Designer Objects in an existing repository

We have been using SCM to store Forms and other files
for our development work.
Now I want to use Repository Reports in the Repository
Object Navigator, this requires me to install support
for Oracle Designer Objects.
Can I use the Repository Administration Utility and
Install support for Oracle Designer Objects
without effecting the existing repository data?
(I've tried metalink but keep getting TCP Error
while logging the TAR).

Unix: Any support for creating com objects?

I'm looking into migrating a CF 8 server from Windows to
Unix. I see in the documentation for CreateObject that com objects
are not supported on Unix, "Note: On UNIX, this function does not
support COM objects."
Obviously, this won't work on Unix: Note:

But what about this, can I create a remote com object?:

Support for Object Type?

Is an Object Relational datamodel supported by APEX? I have a TYPE as OBJECT and a table which has this object. When I used the wizard to create a page, it created the item as a DISPLAY.

We currently dont have Object-relational semantics supported in Apex. You will have to code manually for that.
