Investigate.jws Tutorial

Please help.
Gets the following error while trying to build Investigate.jws from the Workshop
Tutorial. (Infact, it looks like I can't run any of the services that has mesage-buffering/conversation
enabled):
"Unexpected exception occurred while trying to deploy the EJB for this Web Service..."
Following is from the log file:
"####<Jan 4, 2003 1:03:06 AM PST> <Error> <AI> <DreamWeaver> <cgServer> <main>
<kernel identity> <> <000000> <Failed to initialize the WLI-Application Integration

Krish,
Can you attach the Investigate.jws file you are working with ?
You could also compare this file with the Investigate.jws found under the

I added the callback and the code to call this from the
requestCreditReportAsynch method. When I click on the green button tobuild
and run it, I get this error in the error output window,
Investigate.jws 0 An unexpected exception occured while attempting to
deploy the Enterprise Java Beans for this Web Service. Error: null
Any ideas?

  • Investigate.jws

    Hello,
I have been trying the Bea workshop 8.1.2 for the first time. I followed the instructions given in the tutorials to build the Investigate Web service. The program compiled with no errors but later I got the following run time error:
javax.ejb.EJBException:nested exception is :javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: Unable to resolve 'cgDtaaSource' Resolved; remaining name 'cgDataSource.

    Hi Santhosh,
There seem to be a mispell in your code.
Please correct the datasource name to "'cgDataSource" instead of "cgDtaaSource"
    Thanks a lot,

  • Workshop tutorial bugs

I found a few bugs in the Workshop tutorial. I wonder if this is the right place
    to report them.
Step 7: Add Support for Cancellation and Exception Handling
    * The timer is started using creditCardReportTimer.start(). But it is never stopped.
    * context_onException() calls callback.onCreditReportDone(). One problem is the
Java client do not accept call back. So the onCreditReportDone() call result in
another exception. context_onException() is invoke again. This causes an infinite
loop and eventual crashed the WLS.
    Step 8: Client Application
    * The Java statement
    if(context.getCallbackLocation() != "")
is not a correct way to test for empty string. Use String.length().
    Wai Yip Tung

    Wai,
Thanks for contacting us with your feedback.
You had mentioned that the timer was started but never stopped, the
following is a snippet from the Investigate.jws available in the
    applications/samples/tutorial folder.
    private void creditCardReportControl_creditCardDataResult(CreditCard[]
    cards)
    * Now that the web service has returned its results, stop the timer
    started
    * in the requestCreditReportAsynch method.
    creditCardReportTimer.stop();
The timer also has a timeout value of 5 minutes after which it will stop.
Regarding the other issues, I will make sure that the information is sent to
    the samples team.
    We appreciate your feedback.
    Thanks

  • Two questions about WSSE

    Hi all,
I came across the Web Service Security tutorial (Investigate.jws) that comes with WebLogic Workshop. Now I've two questions:
    - How can I test a web service that requires encryption in the request since the test client that Workshop generates doesn't seem to take care of the <encryptionRequired> tag I added to the <wsSecurityIn> element of the WSSE file?
    - How can I expose my WS to a changing set of customers without redeploying the service if I have to declare client aliases (at least) in the WSSE file?
Can somebdy help solve these issues?
    Regards.
    Antonio.

You can set usage limits from your my verizon page by purchasing Family Base for 5.00 a month. As for checking your my verizon usage, if your cycle date is really the 12th then it should track your usage from the 13th-12th of every month, like this month for example your my verizon should show you usage from 10/13/2013-11/12/2013.

  • How can we cretae the DBC file?

    Hi all,
I am attempting to run the test_fwktutorial.jsp within the toolbox.jws/Tutorial.jpr project in Jdeveloper . We have to provide the Oracle application DB connection in the project properties ( we have to provide this as a DBC file) . How can we create the dbc file from the Database connection ? i tried to export the DB connection in Jdev , but it is getting exported to xml file rather than dbc file . Please help to fix this

    Yes, you can do that.
Put both the DBC files under dbc_files\secure folder.
You can change the dbc files from project settings and point to the desired file.
I am not sure, but maybe you need to stop JDevloper and start again for the new DBC file to take effect.

  • Newbie question: taskdef class org.apache.catalina.ant.DeployTask error

    Hi,
I am trying to run one of the examples in the JWS tutorial, but everytime I go "ant build" it throws the following error
<stuff_up_front>/jaxrpc/common/targets.xml:30: taskdef class org.apache.catalina.ant.DeployTask cannot be found
As far as I know I have all the necessary path and environmental variable set. Only thing I can think of is that I choose not to install the Tomcat that comes bundled with the JWSDP package since I already had tomcat server running on my machine. But my Catalina_Home has been set from a long time and it works with other applications. So I really not sure what I am suppose to do. Help would be very welcomed. Thansk you.

Please dis regard I just now noticed the dates on this thread. (I sure hope you have gotten it working by now.)
I did get these examples running. The fact that I had several versions of Tomcat installed by IDE's I think alot of my env.vars where not pointing to the proper place. I ended up just using all the stuff that came with the jwsdp(server and likes). maybe later once I get a greater understanding I can do better. BUT I AM A BIT SLOW. Thanks all.
If you every reply to me type slow so i can keep up.

  • Making a Web Service Manually

    Hey, Can Anyone help me?.
I Want to make a Web Service in J2EE, but I don't want to use the JWSDK. I want to do all without assistants.
Anyone have some tutorial or manual that con help me.
Sorry for my bad english, I don`t speak english very well.
    Thanks a lot.

The JWS tutorial (http://java.sun.com/webservices/downloads/webservicespack.html) does a reasonable job of walking you through a Web service using Ant. We use GNU make, so we looked at the various Ant build.xml files in the tutorial examples for ideas.

  • WebServices with Java

    Hi,
Im a begginer with webservices. I have had some tests and I would like to get some explanations if possible:
1- What's the difference between Apache AXI and JWSDP ?
2- A web container is needed in both ?
3- I had downloaded the JWS tutorial 1.4 and this tutorial says that is needed Sun Java System Application Server Platform Edition 8, but the sun web site says that I can use tomcat-jwsdp too.
    The questions:
3.1 - Could I use any web container to webservices?
3.2 - Is Sun Java System Application Server Platform Edition 8 a freeware ?
    3.3 - Is tomcat-jwsdp freeware ?
3.4 - The difference betweenn tomcat-jwsdp and the apache tomcat is only the jwsdp ?
Sorry my english is begginer and
Thank you very much for help

The Java Web Services Developer Pack (Java WSDP) provides the APIs and toolkit for building applications with Web Services. These are J2EE extensions to J2SE.
Apache AXIS is an implementation of Web Services, there are others.

  • Problem with tutorial; "Build a Web Application with JDeveloper 11g Using "

I've got a rather new installation of Vista Business x64 on my developer rig, and last week I installed the new JDeveloper 11g version. The installation was all-inclusive, no customization on my end.
In addition I've got a test installation of an Oracle DB 11gR1 on an available server here.
To familiarize myself with the new JDeveloper I decided to spend some time with the JDeveloper 11g tutorials found here: http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/obe11jdev/11/index.html.
I've started twice on the second tutorial, "Build a Web Application with JDeveloper 11g Using EJB, JPA, and JavaServer Faces", and find myself repeatedly stuck at step 19 in section "Creating the Data Model and Testing it".
It seems impossible to deploy the application to the default application server. The server starts fine on its own, I can access it via the admin console on port 7001 and it looks good. However, when I try to run the HRFacadeBean funny things are happening, symptomized by the following error messages seen in the IDE log-area:
    The "Messages" pane displays:

Problem invoking WLST - Traceback (innermost last):
    File "C:\Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\domains\base_domain\shutdown.py", line 1, in ?
File "<iostream>", line 22, in connect
WLSTException: Error occured while performing connect : Error getting the initial context. There is no server running at t3://localhost:7101 Use dumpStack() to view the full stacktrace
    Done
I'm not that familiar with these things but it seems to me that there is an issue with port numbers here. The application seems to expect a app.server service at port 7101, but does'nt find one.
Any suggestions on how to fix this problem would be appreciated?

    Jupp,
It fails in a similar way.
What I did was; create a simle 'Hello World' html file, saving it with the jsp extension. In Jdev11g i made a new application and an emtpy project, then loaded the jsp file and made it the default run-target. This compiles nicely.
When running the project it first attempts to start the WebLogicServer (WLS). After a few minutes it is started as seen in the "Running: DefaultServer" pane:
    C:\Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\domains\base_domain\bin\startWebLogic.cmd
[waiting for the server to complete its initialization...]

    DefaultServer started.
In the "Messages" pane, however, things are not looking so good:
    Context: MakeProjectAndDependenciesCommand application=TestAppJsp.jws project=TestProjJsp.jpr
[7:20:49 PM] Successful compilation: 0 errors, 0 warnings.
[Application TestAppJsp is bound to Server Instance DefaultServer]
    [Starting Server Instance DefaultServer]
    #### Server Instance DefaultServer could not be started: Server Instance was terminated.
But, of course, the server is actually running as I can access it via its Admin Console.
So, I try to run the project again, and this time the following is shown in the "Messages" pane:
    Compiling...
    Context: MakeProjectAndDependenciesCommand application=TestAppJsp.jws project=TestProjJsp.jpr
[7:26:39 PM] Successful compilation: 0 errors, 0 warnings.
[Application TestAppJsp is bound to Server Instance DefaultServer]
    [Starting Server Instance DefaultServer]
    #### Server Instance DefaultServer could not be started: Server Instance was terminated.
The "Running: DefaultServer" now comes up with:
    C:\Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\domains\base_domain\bin\startWebLogic.cmd
[waiting for the server to complete its initialization...]
[Server Instance DefaultServer is shutting down.  All applications currently running will be terminated and undeployed.]
    Process exited.
The WLS is still running though as I can still access its adm console.
To me it seems that it is attempting to start a separate instance of the WLS for each run attempt, but then I could be wrong.....:(
Later I'll try to change the default WLS port from 7001 to 7101 as suggested in another port here.
I must admit that I'm a bit surprised that the JDev11g doesn't work fine at this very simple level when performing a default install.

  • Images do not display in Acmevideo sample application WebApp_8i.jws

    Hello,
The JDeveloper 3 Acmevideo web application for Oracle8i is a nice-looking web application.
There is a syntax fault in the Java source files WebAppReports.java, WebApp.java of the JDeveloper 3 workspace WebApp_8i.jws
In the file acmevideo_deploy.properties I used something like this:
    ...imageURL=http://oashost:80/acmeimages/...
All occurrences of "/topmovie.gif", "/onoracle.gif","/filmsquare.gif" in the java source files WebAppReports.java, WebApp.java should be replaced by "topmovie.gif","onoracle.gif","filmsquare.gif". Otherwise these images will not display correctly in the web application.
I would like to know when Oracle will provide a tutorial on servlet deployment of the acmevideo web application to Oracle Application Server.
I understand that by providng a Java Webserver servlet deployment example the JDeveloper customer is not dependent on Oracle Application Server as web server.
How to deploy the acmevideo servlet to Oracle Application Server 4.0.8.1?
Thank you in advance for your reaction,
    Erik Martens

    Hi Erik,
For our next release, we are actually removing the Acme Video sample application. It will be replaced with the Web Auctions demo, which was used at the most recent Oracle Open World conference.
Instructions for deploying DBServlets to OAS 4.0.8.1 are included in the JDeveloper 3.0 release notes.
