Invitation email creates tentatively accepted calendar items

When receiving invitation email from other users, the BB tentatively accepts it and puts it in the calendar. I know this feature might come in handy for some people. But I don't want it in my calendar without me explicitly accept it first. Is it possible to disable the feature? I'm using BIS with the BB, not sure it makes difference.

+1.  This is probably the single-most annoying bug in the BlackBerry Calendar app.  Especially when you realize that someone can use this to wipe out the calendar on your BB by sending you a storm of event cancellation email.
What will it take for RIM to fix this bug?  Someone start spamming everyone with event cancellation emails to their BB email addresses until companies seriously consider ditching their BlackBerries?  Please don't wait until it gets that bad, RIM.

  • When I invite email addresses to my calendar events it doesn't work?

    Hi,
    I was wondering if anyone could help, I have been creating events on my calender and when I got to add a email address for them to join it does not work. I get a ! and a little sidewards lightning bolt.
    Is there anything I need to do in order for my Ical to be able to send this emails? My ical is also on a server which is connected to various other computers (our companys joint ical) has this got anything to do with why it doesn't work.
    Any advice suggestions to solving this would be great.

    Joe,
    Specifically this is what you're missing:
    However, you can go to the Amazon Developer Portal and download a JSON file that lets you test your .apk file in a sandbox environment without crashing. See Testing Your App on the Amazon Developer site..
    Here's an example of one that I made:
    https://www.box.com/s/05b8k8urcjbn7avfecj6
    You will need to build out the json file such that it corresponds to your published folios (with the SKU being the value/Product ID from Folio Producer.)
    This file needs loaded on the root of your Kindle Fire. It should cause the crashing to stop.

  • Issues with old calendar items after migration from SBS2008R1 to Windows 2012R2+Exchange 2013

    Hello,
    After migrating a customer from Windows Small Business Server 2008 R1 to Microsoft Windows Server 2012 (DC) and Microsoft Windows Server 2012 & Exchange 2013 there are a few issue regarding
    the GAL and old migrated calender items that we are unable to resolve:
    Old calender items which were Exported to PST when the Server 2008 R1 environment was still live were imported to the new mailbox of the user, located on the Exchange 2013 mail database. This
    seemed to be working just fine.
    The problems arise when a user tries to edit or re-send an old calender item. There actually are 2 problems:
    1. When resending an old calender item, OLD GAL entries are used (even when re-entering the contact details) and the emails are send to nobody and you get the mail back from postmaster
    2. When updating an old calender item you get an error that you do not have permissions, probably because you are NOT the 'old' Exchange user.
    Thanks in advance!

    Did you use Exmerge or similar to export?
    You may have an issue like that explained here.

  • How to accept calendar invitation on a new email address ?

    So have my apple id email address, calendar ... But just got a new email address and would like to be able to accept calendar invitation on this new email address. How to I link that new email address to my existing apple id/calendar ?

    It is not clear what steps you have actually taken so excuse this if you have already got it covered...
    Once you have postfix confiured to accept submissions on another port then it should only need incoming traffic on that port to be port-forwarded to the server where postfix is listening for it. So if your server is also doing the firewall interface to net, then simply opening the required port should be enough.
    Have you configured postfix's master.cf file to accept alternative port submissions?...

  • EWS API - Impersonating to update a calendar item created by any other user than a service account, raise an error "Access is denied. Check credentials and try again."

    Hi,
    I am new to using EWS managed APIs.
    Following is the issue:
    1. I am using a service account e.g. [email protected]. This user is a global administrator and also has ApplicationImpersonation role assigned. (Sign into Online Office 365 account -> Admin -> select "Exchange" tab- > select Permissions
    on the left panel -> create an impersonation role -> assign ApplicationImpersonation in Roles: and [email protected] in Members: -> Click on save)
    2. Create a calendar item by other user for e.g. [email protected], and invite an attendee - [email protected].
    3. In a c# program, I connect to EWS service using a service account - [email protected], fetch its calendar events. If organizer of an event is some other user - [email protected] then
    I use impersonation in the following way to update the calendar event/item properties- subject, body text etc.
            private static void Impersonate(string organizer)
                string impersonatedUserSMTPAddress = organizer;
                ImpersonatedUserId impersonatedUserId =
                    new ImpersonatedUserId(ConnectingIdType.SmtpAddress, impersonatedUserSMTPAddress);
                service.ImpersonatedUserId = impersonatedUserId;
    4. It was working fine till yesterday afternoon. Suddenly, it started throwing an exception "Access is denied. Check credentials and try again." Whenever I try to
    update that event.
           private static void FindAndUpdate(ExchangeService service)
                CalendarView cv = new CalendarView(DateTime.Now, DateTime.Now.AddDays(30));
                cv.MaxItemsReturned = 25;
                try
                    FindItemsResults<Item> masterResults = service.FindItems(WellKnownFolderName.Calendar, cv);
                    foreach (Appointment item in masterResults.Items)
                        if (item is Appointment)
                            Appointment masterItem = item as Appointment;
                            if (!masterRecurEventIDs.Contains(masterItem.ICalUid.ToString()))
                                masterItem.Load();
                                if (!masterItem.Subject.Contains(" (Updated content)"))
                                    //impersonate organizer to update and save for further use
                                    Impersonate(masterItem.Organizer.Address.ToString());
                                    // Update the subject and body
                                    masterItem.Subject = masterItem.Subject + " (Updated content)";
                                    string currentBodyType = masterItem.Body.BodyType.ToString();
                                    masterItem.Body = masterItem.Body.Text + "\nUpdated Body Info:
    xxxxxxxxxxxx";
                                    // This results in an UpdateItem operation call to EWS.
                                    masterItem.Update(ConflictResolutionMode.AutoResolve);
                                    // Send updated notification to organizer of an appointment
                                    CreateAndSendEmail(masterItem.Organizer.Address.ToString(), masterItem.Subject);
                                    masterRecurEventIDs.Add(masterItem.ICalUid.ToString());
                                else
                                    Console.WriteLine("Event is already updated. No need to update again.:\r\n");
                                    Console.WriteLine("Subject: " + masterItem.Subject);
                                    Console.WriteLine("Description: " + masterItem.Body.Text);
                catch (Exception ex)
                    Console.WriteLine("Error: " + ex.Message);
    5. What could be an issue here? Initially I thought may be its a throttling policy which is stopping same user after making certain API call limits for the day, but I am still seeing this issue today.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks

    Your logic doesn't sound correct here eg
    2. Create a calendar item by other user for e.g. [email protected], and invite an attendee - [email protected]
    3. In a c# program, I connect to EWS service using a service account - [email protected], fetch its calendar events. If organizer of an event is some other user - [email protected] then
    I use impersonation in the following way to update the calendar event/item properties- subject, body text etc.
    When your connecting to [email protected] mailbox the only user that can make changes to items within
    abccalendar is abc (or ABC's delegates). If your impersonating the Organizer of the appointment pqr that wouldn't work unless the organizer had rights to abc's calendar. If you want to make updates to a calendar
    appointment like that you should connect to the Organizers mailbox first update the original, send updates and then accept the updates.
    When you impersonate your impersonating the security context of the Mailbox your impersonating so its the same a logging on as that user in OWA or Outlook.
    Cheers

  • Where are Invitation Emails for Apple Calendar Stored?

    Hi,
    When you add an event in Apple Calendar (prev. iCal) and invite an attendee, an email with an invitation is sent. Where are these emails saved? Where can you find the template that is used to create these emails?

    Hi Filip,
    What happens with invites depends on whether the calendar is local or stored on calendar server or not.  For local calendars (those under "On My Mac") the sent items will go into the outbox on Mail while the internat connection is broken. For server based calendars (iCloud, Exchange, Google calendar and other CalDAV calendars) the server is sent a signal via your internet connection and the email is made and sent from the server.
    You are not going to be able to stop a server based calendar using the method you subscribe.
    For local calendars you might want to look at my application iCal Reply Checker. It is shareware, but runs for 10 days before needing to be paid for.
    Best wishes

  • Invite Email not being sent from iCal from a Google Apps calendar

    Hello,
    I am running Mac OS X 10.6.5, iCal 4.0.4, and am attempting to do the following from a Google Apps calendar I have setup in iCal. Please note that it's not gmail, it's Google Apps. If that makes a difference. That being said...
    I am trying to create a meeting invite from iCal. I am able to create the invite and add attendees with no problem. When I hit send (from iCal), the invitees do not receive an email notification of the event, but it does appear their calendar (both in iCal and via Google Calendar on the web). I need an email to be sent to the invitees that they have been invited to a meeting, not just to have it appear on their calendars.
    When I create the meeting invite via Google Calendar on the Web the invitees do receive an email notification (as specified in their calendar preferences). The issue only happens when the meeting invite is created in iCal.
    When an invitee accepts or declines a meeting via iCal I receive an acceptance or declining email. Just not when the meeting invite is sent.
    Also, I am able to create a meeting on one of the "On My Computer" calendars in iCal, invite people, and a meeting invitation is sent as expected.
    And again, the invitees have notification of meeting invites turned on in their calendar settings (as is shown by the fact that when the invite is sent out via Google Calendar on the Web they receive an email with the invite).
    Thanks! Any assistance would be awesome.
    Aaron

    That was actually my post on the Google forums
    Here is what I have found so far (and hopefully some of my assumptions are correct, because we're making the full switch to Google Apps this weekend and I am assuming it will work after this). This is long, but I'm trying to be thorough. Also note that I have updated to 10.6.6 since the time I first posted my last message.
    We are currently piloting Google Apps, so our primary domain (which I will refer to from now on as domain.com) still points to our old exchange servers. Mail is currently being delivered to our Google Apps pilot accounts the following way:
    1. User sends an email to [email protected]. This email is delivered to our old Exchange servers.
    2. Once the email is received on our old Exchange servers it gets forwarded to our Google Apps test domain (gtest.domain.com).
    This seems to be an important piece of the puzzle as our primary domain (domain.com) shows up on the Google Apps for Admin dashboard as improperly setup (which is correct, because we're currently piloting)
    So, in iCal I have my Google Apps account setup (I'm one of the pilot users) the following way. I added the Account as Google calendar in iCal, but once the account shows up it shows up as a CalDAV account.
    Under the account information tab:
    CalDAV
    Description: [email protected]
    User name: [email protected]
    Password: my password
    Under the server settings tab (*NOTE: these were entered in automatically when I setup the calendar as a Google calendar)
    Server address: www.google.com
    Server path: the path to my calendar.
    Use SSL is checked
    Use Kerberos v5 is NOT checked
    So, during my testing I was sending meeting invites from people who were in the Google Apps pilot to other people who were in the Google Apps pilot. When I was doing that, no invitations were getting sent.
    I created a new email account on our exchange server ([email protected]) but did NOT set it up to be a part of the Google Apps pilot (this means that emails were not being forwarded from [email protected] to [email protected]). Doing this successfully delivered all invites, cancellations, and meeting updates from iCal!
    From what I can tell there must be something going on (probably my own fault) when a calendar invite is sent from my Google Apps account, through our old Exchange system, and then back to our Google Account. My assumption is it has something to do with the fact that our MX records for domain.com currently point to our old exchange servers, and the MX records for gtest.domain.com point to the Google Apps servers. It may also have something to do with the SPF record which only allows emails from domain.com to be sent from our Exchange servers.
    Those are just guesses though as I am not very knowledgeable in that area.
    I hope this helps and I would love to hear about anyone else working on this issue.

  • IPhone does not accept mime calendar items

    When sending Outlook for Mac calendar items (mime) to iPhone 5S they are not able to open and post to the phone

    Unless you accept the invite on your computer and sync the event to the iPhone, you can't do anything with a .ics attachment to an email. Note that if you're using an MS Exchange/ActiveSync account on the iPhone, Outlook invites sent to that account can be accepted and will end up in the Calendar on the iPhone. But, that only works with calendar invitations to MS Exchange or MobileMe accounts, not with .ics attachments to emails.

  • Why won't my 3GS accept calendar invites?

    I'm using an Exchange server through work.  I have made sure that my email address matches up between the Exchange server and my settings.  I'm receiving all of my emails, and i'm receiving invitations to meetings - but when I "accept" them from the iPhone: 1) it no longer shows as tentative on my iPhone calendar, which is correct; but 2) when I tap on the calendar item, it opens to the invitation again, rather than opening the actual calendar item.  Any suggestions on how I can fix this?
    The reason it's a problem is that people include the dial-in information to conference calls in the "notes" field in outlook, and you can't see that on the invitation on the phone.
    Thanks!

    bumping - anyone have any thoughts?  Thanks.

  • Can´t create an afternoon Outlook calendar item on iCloud

    I am using iCloud to synchronize items with my Mac. Outlook is configured with three calendars, its native calendar tied to my Outlook email address, a second calendar that I do not use tied to a generic email address that I do use, and the iCloud calendar. I am on temporary assignment in Mexico and the standard language setup is the following: OS menus are in English. Outlook menus are in English. Email text editing language is Spanish. Calendar items are in Spanish. The date format is Spanish using a.m. and p.m.
    If I try to create an item in my iCloud calendar from Outlook, it will not allow me to specify a time in the afternoon. Any attempt to do so still results in getting an appointment for the same time in the morning (or, rather, very early morning). For example, I create an appointment for 2 p.m. It ends up being for 2 a.m. If I change it to 3 p.m., it ends up being changed to 3 a.m.
    The workaround is to set up the item in the Outlook calendar for either of the email addresses, then dragging it into the iCloud calendar. Alternatively, the incorrect item in the iCloud calendar can be dragged into the Outlook calendar, adjusted to p.m., and then dragged back into iCloud.
    Naturally, this does not happen on the Mac.
    Is anyone aware of a fix for this?
    The Mac is a MacBook Pro running Mavericks, but this problem really happens independently from the Mac. The version of Windows is Windows 7 Enterprise, 6.1.7601 (SP1). I am using Outlook 2013. iCloud control panel is 3.1.

    Taken from the main screen of the iCloud.com website:
    "To use iCloud, first set it up with your Apple ID on a device with iOS 5 or a Mac with OS X Lion."
    Did you follow this advice?

  • Email attachment to calendar item can't be viewed in Webacc

    We have a user that is posting Calendar items for his boss. He creates the item and then drags and drops an email to attach it to the meeting item. All is well in the Groupwise Client but if the Calendar item is viewed in Web Access, you can not see the body of the item OR the email attachment.

  • Accepting calendar invites with 2 exchange accounts on iPhone?

    My setup:
    iphone 4S - 5.1.1
    2 Exchange server accounts (1 home, 1 work).
    When I get sent a calendar invite from Work, I accept it on my iPhone and it goes back to sender with my personal email address.  How do I prevent this? It didn't use to do this, it would accept the calendar invite and return with the work email.
    Help??

    When you accept the appointment, is it in your business calender or in the private one?
    When it goes back, is it your e-mail-adress or the signature that is wrong (you know, only one signature for both accounts unless you update to iOS6, which can handle separate sigs for each acccount).
    I recommend setting your business calender as default (Settings>Mail, contacts...>Calender>"Default"

    This is a user-to-user forum and most people will post on here if they have problems. You very rarely get people posting to say there update went smooth. The fact is the vast majority of Mountain Lion users will not be experiencing any major problems with the OS, or maybe with apps which are not compatible, but thats hardly Apple's fault if developers don't update their apps.
