Invite to shared workspace by url

Hello
I would like to share my desktop, and then invite people to my sharing by sending them an url. The participants should then be able to use the Lync web app, to see my shared desktop. I guess the way to go, is start a conversation, share my desktop, and then
fetch the conversation url somehow.
I have used this http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-US/779be5ea-f58a-4404-abee-57596d92d843/prgrammatically-send-lync-invitation-to-email-address?forum=communicatorsdk to get an url to a conversation, but the link requires the participant
to have lync installed.
How would i go about doing this?

You will most likely need to ask in the dev forum for the programmatic way to grab this information but you shouldn't need the Lync Client to join. The "manual" process would be something like:
1. From Lync Client, click Meet Now from Client
2. Meeting starts, click the more menu (three dots in lower right corner) and choose Meeting Entry Info.
3. There will be the Meeting Join Link, which could be copy/pasted to others.
Like I said, not sure how to programmatically to do all of that.

Static forms created with Acrobat or LiveCycle Designer can be shared via an Acrobat.com shared workspace. These files can be shared like any other file.

Get back Shared Workspace Pages and Sample content folder

Hi,
We deleted Shared Workspace pages and Sample content folder in Workspace, due to client's insistence. Now they want it back, as they liked the earlier view better.
Is there a way to get these folders back? Any help will be appreciated.

Did you delete them delete them or simply remove them from the user preferences
To figure that out go to Explore and then select View from your drop down and select "Show hidden"
You should see a folder called "Shared Workspace Pages". If you see it and Inside you have Homepage then you haven't truely nuked it and add it back through preferences.
If you totally nuked it. Then someone else might have the trick for adding it back but if you have a server I would nose around in (for 11.1.1.3 and different depending on which version you are using) to see if you can see the files in question.

Not able to import files in shared workspace pages

Hi,
I have created a new native user. When i login using this user in workspace iam not able to see Import, export option in file Menu.
Basically i want to import files in shared workspace pages

They will require Content Publisher/Content Manager role.

Shared Workspace Tags - Feature Request

A fellow Acrobat.com user brought up a great feature request, shared tags. Currently when you tag a document within a shared workspace, only you can see those tags. Others with access to the shared workspace do not have the ability to see the tags you created.

How do I edit a document once it is uploaded to a shared workspace?

I have uploaded a Word document to a shared workspace but cant figure out how to
edit the document. When I click on the document it opens in a seperate window but the document is not editable. Buzzword does not give me the option to open this document. If I open Buzzword and try to open the file from there it launches Acrobat.com again. I must be missing something. Any help appreciated.

Thank you for posting your question to the Acrobat.com forum. The answer is to IMPORT the document - not upload it. When you upload a .doc or .docx file, you can share or preview the file, but not edit it. When you import it, Acrobat.com will automatically convert it to Buzzword format for further editing and collaborative authoring (if you like). The "Import" command can be found in your organizer view or, within a Buzzword document, in the "Document" menu. Data limit on shared workspace

Is there a limitation to the size or volume of data that can be uploaded to a shared workspace?

I have solved the issue, but still puzzled by the behavior.
Here is how I discovered the problem:
I have done more testing and have come up with a very strange discovery. The problem is not a matter of pushing too much data through the web service.
The problem resides with sending a particular record through the web service. More specifically, a particular field (of type text) within a particular distinct record.
If I skip that record, it works.
If I convert that field from text to varchar, it works.
If I bypass the web service and do a direct CFQUERY call, it works.
If I include this trouble record, leave the trouble field untouched, and pull the data through the web service; it breaks.
How strange is that!
Here is how I fixed it:
It turned out there was some kind of hidden special character embedded in the data. It was not visible, but when pasted into a text editor was displayed as a space. After going through the text character by character, I was able to get rid of it.
Now the web service call works reliably.
Who would have through that an invisible special character in a text field would break a web service.

There are several discussion threads about how to set up a Guest Account with your own preferences, such as here:

I think it is far easier to set up a Standard User account, and then customize it the way you want by logging into the account and changing any Desktop Wallpaper and Icon settings, THEN logging out, and then logging into your Administrator account.
Then, when you go to System Preferences and choose "Parental Controls" (NOT the one found under "Accounts"), you can choose special options such as "Use Simple Finder" and turn off "can administer printers", "can burn CDs and DVDs", and "can change password". You can even limit what applications they can use.
If you want to know more about Simple Finder go to your Help menu in the Finder and type "Simple Finder" Choose the Apple help article entitled "Setting up a simple interface for an account".
After I set up my Standard account I tried to apply an icon to the Home Folder while I was logged in as an Administrator. Interestingly, I was not able to do so. But when I logged into the Standard Account I just made, I was able to apply the icon to the Standard User's Home Folder.
So now all my icons and User Accounts are set up perfectly. Now I will make a disc image back up of the hard drive, and then on to updating to OS X 10.5.7.

Accesing a shared path through URL

Hi All,
I have a specific request. I have an SSRS report. The report has a file shared path as url in one of the field.
My requirement is: User x is viewing the report. On clicking the link, he will be accessing the shared path as a different credential (a common credential).
Is it possible to have this in SSRS? Can anybody throw some light on this requirement

My friend sent me an invite for shared photo stream. I've done all the requirement upgrades but everytime i clink on the invite it sends me to the requirements page. Any ideas?

I've triple checked and I do. But it is the same response every time I clink on the invite. Any ideas as to what I"m doing wrong?

On Login to Workspace requested URL /pls/apex/f was not found Error

Dear All,
When I log into a workspace I get the following :
The requested URL /pls/apex/f was not found on this server.
Note:
1. The workspace was working fine and while working only this issue started and the problem exists since.
2. I am able to log into Internal Workspace
The Error_Log is as follows:

APEX TABLESPACE Problem.

HT4858 Is anyone else having problems with shared photo stream URLs not updating after photos are added or deleted from a shared photo stream?

I have made quite a few shared photo streams and love the idea of sharing easily with a variety of friends and family. The problem in having is that any modifications made to the shared photostream (adding/deleting pictures) are not updated in the URL I have sent to my family and friends. Is anyone else experiencing this? Does anyone have any ideas or solutions?

Disable Photo Stream in the System/iCloud preference pane
and in iPhoto's Photo Share preference pane.
Reboot and reenable both respectively. That should jump start Photo Stream on your Mac.

I am running 10gR3 bpm locally.

Could you let me know the URL for accessing the process administrator and workspace admin.

Looking at your port 8585 it is the default port for Studio, in Studio there is no webconsole or workspace administrator, those applications only are available in enterprise.
If your case is enterprise then the url is /webconsole and /portaladmin

Workspace in url

Our design entails launching APEX applications from URL on a common intranet portal. We have 2 workspaces: development and production. Currently we notice that the application url is independent of workspace (e.g http://xxx.xx.xxx.xxx:7778/pls/apex/f?p=111). Can we keep the application id the same (when the export from development workspace and import into production workspace) but include the workspace in the url.

Yes, good point. You could have application id 100 in workspace A and a copy of that application as id 200 in workspace B. You could then give each one the same application alias, say APEX_REPORTS. Then to run application 100 the URL could be as simple as:
f?p=APEX_REPORTS&c=A
...and for application 200
f?p=APEX_REPORTS&c=B
