Invoke External HTTPS Web Service from OSB 11G

Hi,
We have a requirement to invoke a HTTPS web service hosted by third-party and we have to send HTTP basic authentication detials also.
Third party given us the HTTP basic authentication details and only certificate nothing else.
After some research service account can be used for basic authentication and service key provider for https requirement.
But before service key provider creation there are steps to import the certificate into weblogic server and do some config steps (PKI cred mapping and all )I have gone through the forums but i am new to OSB and SSL i could not understand.
Can some one help with detailed steps.
Thanks in Advance
Srikanth

You can simply use "Execute Script" operation in Workbench and make use of java.net.URL. Below links should help :

  • Invoking a SAP web service from Dreamweaver MX

    I am trying to invoke a SAP web service from ColdFusion and it looks like ColdFusion does not even recognize the rfc generated wsdl file as a wsld file.  I have tried other wsdl url's outside my company and they work...so I know that web services at least work in ColdFusion.  Can anyone advise on this topic?
    Thanks!

    Paula,
    I suppose you're using CFINVOKE (http://www.activsoftware.com/code_samples/code.cfm/CodeID/44/ColdFusion/Invoking_SOAP_Web_Services_with_ColdFusion_MX_CFINVOKE_Tag) or are you using a third party tool like CFX_SOAP (http://www.activsoftware.com/products/productdetail.cfm/id/1015)?
    Are you working with WebAS 6.4 or 6.2?
    It works with web services created with WebAS 6.4, but you should generate proxy classes. Check Thomas' weblog (second part of it)->https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/1012. [original link is broken] [original link is broken] [original link is broken] [original link is broken] [original link is broken] [original link is broken] [original link is broken] [original link is broken] [original link is broken]
    The WSDL generated by this method is more standard than the one generated when you just Remote enable an FM and look at the webservice browser.
    Th core of CF MX is Java and that engine is rather strict in standards.

  • Unable to invoke a protected web service from PL/Sql

    Hi All
    I am trying to invoke a protected web service from Plsql. But getting the below error.
    error message is ORA-31011: XML parsing failed
    ORA-19202: Error occurred in XML processing
    LPX-00104: Warning: element "html" is not declared in the DTD
    Error at line 2
    If i try to invoke the service after disabling the protection then i am able to call it and getting response. Pls let me know how to deal with this authentication issue.
    Below is the invoking code i am using.
    BEGIN
    generate_envelope(p_request, l_envelope);
    show_envelope(l_envelope);
    l_http_request := UTL_HTTP.begin_request(p_url, 'POST','HTTP/1.0');
    UTL_HTTP.set_header(l_http_request, 'Authorization', 'Basic Y29tcGxpYW5jZS5nZW46Y29tcGxpYW5jZQ11');
    UTL_HTTP.set_header(l_http_request, 'Content-Type', 'text/xml');
    UTL_HTTP.set_header(l_http_request, 'Content-Length', LENGTH(l_envelope));
    UTL_HTTP.set_header(l_http_request, 'SOAPAction', p_action);
    UTL_HTTP.write_text(l_http_request, l_envelope);
    l_http_response := UTL_HTTP.get_response(l_http_request);
    UTL_HTTP.read_text(l_http_response, l_envelope);
    UTL_HTTP.end_response(l_http_response);
    l_response.doc := XMLTYPE.createxml(l_envelope); -- Error Line
    l_response.envelope_tag := p_request.envelope_tag;
    l_response.doc := l_response.doc.extract('/'||l_response.envelope_tag||':Envelope/'||l_response.envelope_tag||':Body/child::node()',
    'xmlns:'||l_response.envelope_tag||'="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"');
    show_envelope(l_response.doc.getstringval());
    check_fault(l_response);
    RETURN l_response;
    END;
    I tried invoking the service by passing username and password in LDE tool and captured the Request SOAP Message. I saw username/password encrypted to "Y29tcGxpYW5jZS5nZW46Y29tcGxpYW5jZQ11". Hence tried with that.
    I have also tried the below line for authentication but it is not working.
    utl_http.set_authentication(l_http_request, 'myusername', 'mypassword','Basic',false);
    Pls assist me in resolving this.
    Thanks,
    PKV

    One more update i tried printing l_http_response.status_code and got 302.
    Thanks,
    PKV

  • New to Web Services - need to call a HTTPS web service from PL/SQL

    I am new to Web Services and need to call HTTPS web service from PL/SQL program. I am using 10g Database.
    I have been reading there are 2 options -
    1. UTL_HTTP - with this package its possible to call HTTPS web services
    2. UTL_DBWS
    Questions -
    1. Is it possible to call a HTTPS web service using UTL_DBWS ? I have not been able to find any information on it.
    2. Can someone point me to UTL_HTTP and UTL_DBWS examples calling a HTTPS web service ?
    3. The HTTPS web service that I need to call needs username/password to connect - how will I incorporate this in the pl/sql code ?
    Appreciate the help.
    Cheers,
    newWebServicesUser

    Hi,
    1. UTL_DBWS not work for https from what I understand
    2. Here is a sample example:
    [http://www.oracle-base.com/articles/9i/ConsumingWebServices9i.php#]
    Be careful, you must change http/1.0 IN 1.1 inside package SOAP_API.
    Here is an example for a prime number where the SOAP message is already construct:
    CREATE OR REPLACE procedure test_ws_2
    IS
    http_req utl_http.req;
    http_resp utl_http.resp;
    request_env varchar2(32767);
    response_env varchar2(32767);
    begin
    -- Set proxy details if no direct net connection.
    UTL_HTTP.set_proxy('http://<USER>:<PASS>@10.0.2.21:8070', NULL);
    UTL_HTTP.set_persistent_conn_support(TRUE);
    request_env:='<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?><SOAP-ENV:Envelope xmlns:SOAP-ENV="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/1999/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/1999/XMLSchema">'||

    '</GetPrimeNumbers></SOAP-ENV:Body></SOAP-ENV:Envelope>';
    dbms_output.put_line('Length of Request:' || length(request_env));
    dbms_output.put_line ('Request: ' || request_env);
    http_req := utl_http.begin_request('http://www50.brinkster.com/vbfacileinpt/np.asmx','POST', utl_http.HTTP_VERSION_1_1);
    utl_http.set_header(http_req, 'Content-Type', 'text/xml; charset=utf-8');
    utl_http.set_header(http_req, 'Content-Length', length(request_env));
    utl_http.set_header(http_req, 'SOAPAction', '"http://microsoft.com/webservices/GetPrimeNumbers"');
    utl_http.write_text(http_req, request_env);
    dbms_output.put_line('');
    http_resp := utl_http.get_response(http_req);
    dbms_output.put_line('Response Received');
    dbms_output.put_line('--------------------------');
    dbms_output.put_line ( 'Status code: ' || http_resp.status_code );
    dbms_output.put_line ( 'Reason phrase: ' || http_resp.reason_phrase );
    utl_http.read_text(http_resp, response_env);
    dbms_output.put_line('Response: ');
    dbms_output.put_line(response_env);
    utl_http.end_response(http_resp);
    end test_ws_2;
    Otherwice for testing url, i recommand you to use that function: Re: Error using UTL_HTTP over HTTPS
    it's a verry helpful function when you have an error.
    wrote:
    When testing using UTL_HTTP, you MUST ensure that you open a new session after importing the SSL certificates into your Wallet,
    as I've learned (the hard way) that existing sessions point to the wallet contents that were present when the session was opened.
    If you don't realise/know this, it can cause a lot of additional frustration during testing, when you keep getting the ORA-29024 exception AFTER
    you've imported the SSL certificates................. ;) 3. i think you can use that after the begin_request but not sure :
    UTL_HTTP.set_authentication(r => http_req,
    username => ,
    password => ,
    scheme => ,
    for_proxy => );

  • How to call "https" web service from Oracle without certification.

    The reuirement is to call a secured web service (*https web service*) from Oracle9i without involving any additional cost.
    Initialy I tried with UTL_HTTP package but in vain as it is needed some certification. As per the requirement no additional cost should be involved with the implementation.
    So is there any way to achieve the above mentioned problem?
    Please let me know the responses with the sample code/steps.

    Please try not to double post. You have the ability to edit your original thread.
    Oh, BTW, try searching the forum. A quick search turned up this: HTTPS request signed by client certificate from PL/SQL procedure
    Check that out and maybe that will solve your problems.
    Thanks!

  • Is it possible to invoke external REST web service hosted in WebLogic web application from an Adobe LiveCycle Process (ES-4)

    Is it possible to invoke an external REST web-service hosted in WebLogic web application from an Adobe LiveCycle Process (ES-4) with parameters as input and manipulating the response depending on the type of parameters it gets back. Then invoking an Adobe Form and prepopulating the Form based on the response parameters? Do you have sample projects that do this invocation. The part highlighted in red is what I need examples.

    You can simply use "Execute Script" operation in Workbench and make use of java.net.URL. Below links should help :

  • Invoking multiple host web services from JCAPS web service (RemoteException

    I am trying to invoke 2 web services sequentially ( not JCAPS service , some host service exposed as web service ), from my jcd which is also exposed
    as a web service.Both the host service have incorporated basic http authentication scheme,and i am setting the security credentials in the enviornment.
    (ie SOAP/HTTP external systems - client).
    However when I deploy my web service and try to invoke the host services,the first host service being called is invoked successfully and i get the response back.But the second service throws a RemoteException and the SOAP response carries "Client not authorized" message in faultstring detail tag.
    I do have separate external SOAP/HTTP systems for both the services,also the external systems have been configured with
    the HTTP basic authentication credentials.
    Infact I tried creating 2 separate JCAPS service for calling the host services individually.I am able to get the expected output
    from the services.
    The issue only arises when the host services are invoked in a sequential manner from a single JCAPS service.
    Please do let me know if i can fill in some more gaps in the information i have provided.
    Could this possibly be an issue in JCAPS?

    I have couple of doubts in this context.
    a) Is this issue only restricted when web services not developed using JCAPS are invoked or it arises also when 2 JCAPS external services are invoked
    sequentially.(I tried a PoC where in i created 2 deployments for calling the host services and invoked the deployment using another JCAPS web service and it worked fine)
    b) Also if this issue only arises when the external web services being invoked have security credentials or just invoking any web services in sequence create
    this problem.

    Hi,
    By default, your application tries to connect to the Net directly : if you have to specify a proxy, use either these lines in your code :
    System.setProperty("http.proxySet", "true");
    System.setProperty("http.proxyHost", "proxy");
    System.setProperty("http.proxyPort", "8080");
    Or specify them in the command line with the "-D"option.
    Ex : java .... -Dhttp.proxySet=true .... MyApp
    Hope it helps.
    See ya

    Are you expecting us to guess at the message you received when you got the 28868?
    I guess: "the wallet is closed."
    If I guessed correctly then open it.
    ALTER SYSTEM SET ENCRYPTION WALLET OPEN IDENTIFIED BY "<your_wallet_password_here>";If I didn't guess correctly then you need to provide all of the information you neglected in your original post.
    Start with the version number.

  • Create an SAP Web Service Consumer (calling External Sharepoint Web Service from ABAP)

    Create an SAP Web Service Consumer (calling External Web Service from ABAP)

    thanks in advance
    regards,
    SDS

    Hi SDS,
    you recieved a http 404 error when trying to access the Sharepoint Web service. Http 404 indicates that the resource is not reachable (cf. HTTP 404 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia). There could be different reasons for that. I'd suggest rubble checking the URL of the Web service first. Try to access it from a browser on you desktop. If the URL is correc. Most likely the SAP system is not able to connect to the URL. This could, for example, be due to some firewall restrictions. You should ask a SAP Basis colleague if they are able to access the URL of the Web service from the server on which the SAP system is running.

  • Invoking Webcenter sites web services from SoapUI

    Hi,
    I want to invoke the OOTB web services of WCS from soap UI.
    I have installed the soap UI and trying to create a new project. I entered the WCS web service URL "http://localhost:8080/cs/REST/types" in the create new project pop up in soapUI.
    On hitting OK button, I am getting the following error:
    Error loading [http://localhost:7001/cs/REST/types]: org.apache.xmlbeans.XmlException: org.apache.xmlbeans.XmlException: error: does not close tag
    If I use the same URL in IE browser, I am redirected to the CAS login page, and upon entering the credentials for WCS site, I am shown the XML result
    I think I am not able to figure out how to pass WCS site credentials from soapUI. Please help.

    It is not a simple case of appending or posting credentials to the REST call, you first need to get a ticket, then a service ticket, then you can make the rest call with your service ticket. You can find a description of the sequence of http calls here http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E29542_01/doc.1111/e29634/wemsecurity.htm#autoId2
    I am not very familiar with soapUI to describe exactly how to create this as a continuous and automatic sequence of steps but it seems you can do it within a generic project with a TestCase, containing two HttpRequest TestSteps, one to get the ticket, one to get the service ticket.
    The first TestStep needs to post "username" and "password" params to http://{host}:{port}/cas/v1/tickets, with the postQueryString box checked. The response contains the TGT (ticket granting ticket), which you can extract and store as a variable using an assertion with a script (see here). The response looks like this
    HTTP/1.1 201 Created
    Server: Apache-Coyote/1.1
    Location: http://celovmfw010.us.oracle.com:8080/cas/v1/tickets/TGT-20-EokDucPIpGduAfbazhmK7cDTPJ2ZZeaNH07AyazZ4eFOcCJbMP-cas-celovmfw010.us.oracle.com-1
    Content-Type: text/html;charset=UTF-8
    Transfer-Encoding: chunked
    Date: Tue, 04 Feb 2014 02:53:46 GMT
    <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//IETF//DTD HTML 2.0//EN"><html><head><title>201  The request has been fulfilled and resulted in a new resource being created</title></head><body><h1>TGT Created</h1><form action="http://celovmfw010.us.oracle.com:8080/cas/v1/tickets/TGT-20-EokDucPIpGduAfbazhmK7cDTPJ2ZZeaNH07AyazZ4eFOcCJbMP-cas-celovmfw010.us.oracle.com-1" method="POST">Service:<input type="text" name="service" value=""><br><input type="submit" value="Submit"></form></body></html>
    The second TestStep then posts "service" param to http://{host}:{port}/cas/v1/tickets/{your_TGT}. The response contains the ST (service ticket), which you can extract with another assertion.
    Then you can make the REST call http://{host}:{port}/cs/REST/types?ticket={your_ST}

    The invocation resulted in an error: [Security:090504]Certificate chain received from siebelhostname.oracle.com - 11.12.123.134 failed hostname verification check. Certificate contained *.oracle.com but check expected siebelhostname.oracle.com.
    please advise.this is very urgent.
    Regards,
    KK

    Please disable the host name verification at Weblogic (all OSB servers). Certificate CN (*.oracle.com) is not same as server host name (siebelhostname.oracle.com).
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17904_01/apirefs.1111/e13952/taskhelp/security/DisableHostNameVerification.html
    From Weblogic 10.3.4 onwards there is a patch available to enhance the existing default BEA hostname verifier to include wildcard certificates and wildcard host name verifier is available in Weblogic 10.3.6 OOB.

    Anuj

  • How to create asynchronous web services in OSB 11g?

    Hi,
    Using the workbench, when I try to create a web service from an existing WSDL, the workbench automatically uses JAX-WS.
    JAX-WS does not offer support for asynchronous web services, since it supports only HTTP ports (@WLJmsTransport does not work).
    Request your help in resolving this issue. One way is to use JAX-RPC but I do not know how to configure the workbench to use JAX-RPC instead of JAX-WS.
    Thanking you in advance.
    Regards
    Shyam.V

  • Problem invoking UCM 11g Web services from ODI 11g

    We have a running UCM 11g instance with its web services (GenericRequest) properly configurated.
    The wsdl is published in the url http://ucmt:16200/idcws/GenericSoapPort?WSDL and reacheble from any web browser.
    The service can be easily invoked from external applications such as soapUI 4.5.1 returning the correct SOAP response. Here is a sample request returning correct results:
    <soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:ucm="http://www.oracle.com/UCM">
    <soapenv:Header/>
    <soapenv:Body>
    <ucm:GenericRequest webKey="cs">
    <ucm:Service IdcService="DOC_INFO">
    <ucm:User></ucm:User>
    <ucm:Document><ucm:Field name="dID">27099</ucm:Field></ucm:Document>
    </ucm:Service>
    </ucm:GenericRequest>
    </soapenv:Body>
    </soapenv:Envelope>
    The problem occurs when we invoke it from the ODI assistant, when we type the WSDL URL and click in "Connect to WSDL" button,
    we get the following error in the middle pane : Invalid Request : java.lang.NullPointerException+
    The port combo and the operation pane are correctly populated
    UCM version is: 11gR1-11.1.1.6.0-idcprod1-121115T130554 (Versión Interna:7.3.3.183)
    ODI version is: 11.1.1.6.0
    Java(TM) Platform     1.6.0_30

    I would suggest contacting support channel to analyze such NPE if there is a product bug causing it.

  • Invoking a secure web service from a standalone java client

    I am using stand alone java client to invoke a web service. This web service in turn invokes a jcs which is protected ( role based access ).
    I am using a proxy at the client side for web service invocation
    FileSubmission_Impl filesubmission_impl = new FileSubmission_Impl();
    FileSubmissionSoap filesubmissionsoap = filesubmission_impl.getFileSubmissionSoap();
    filesubmissionsoap.processFiles(...)
    This works if there are no security constraints on any of the resources (@common:security).
    I need to pass the username and password from the java client that will be authenticated and allowed to access the protected resources.
    Please let me know as to how this can be achieved ( passing username and password from client )

    Paula,
    I suppose you're using CFINVOKE (http://www.activsoftware.com/code_samples/code.cfm/CodeID/44/ColdFusion/Invoking_SOAP_Web_Services_with_ColdFusion_MX_CFINVOKE_Tag) or are you using a third party tool like CFX_SOAP (http://www.activsoftware.com/products/productdetail.cfm/id/1015)?
    Are you working with WebAS 6.4 or 6.2?
    It works with web services created with WebAS 6.4, but you should generate proxy classes. Check Thomas' weblog (second part of it)->https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/1012. The WSDL generated by this method is more standard than the one generated when you just Remote enable an FM and look at the webservice browser.
    Th core of CF MX is Java and that engine is rather strict in standards.
