Invoke remote SOAP Servlet using ESB SOAP Service component

Hello
I am new to ESB and JDeveloper as well, have been working with Eclipse since now. I have the following problem I can not solve at this time.
I have a SOAP Servlet running on Apache Tomcat 5, which I can call from simple JAVA code using the URL http://localhost:8080/omar/registry/soap
The servlet is defined/described within Tomcat using the web.xml file like:
<servlet>
<servlet-name>
ebxmlrr-soap-receiver-servlet
</servlet-name>
<servlet-class>
org.freebxml.omar.server.interfaces.soap.RegistrySOAPServlet
</servlet-class>
<load-on-startup>1</load-on-startup>
</servlet>
I have already made a web service, which I have deployed on Oracle Application Server (using the SOA suite). In the web service I have wrapped a simple JAVA class which uses the SOAPConnection class to connect to http://localhost:8080/omar/registry/soap and sends a simple SOAP message successfully.
My question is, can I use the http://localhost:8080/omar/registry/soap URL directly from an ESB SOAP Service to send messages to the SOAP Servlet (not to use the web service in Oracle Application Server, but to connect directly to the SOAP Servlet on Tomcat) ?
Regards
Zolt

I have found a WSDL file provided to test the SOAP service I have mentioned before.
The content of the WSDL looks like this:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<definitions xmlns:tns="http://omarebxmlrrwsdlnew/" xmlns="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/soap/" name="StandaloneTestService" targetNamespace="http://omarebxmlrrwsdlnew/">
     <types/>
     <message name="StandaloneTest_sendMessage">
          <part name="Message" type="xsd:string"/>
     </message>
     <message name="StandaloneTest_sendResponse">
          <part name="Response" type="xsd:string"/>
     </message>
     <portType name="StandaloneTestPortType">
          <operation name="sendMessage" parameterOrder="Message">
               <input message="tns:StandaloneTest_sendMessage"/>
               <output message="tns:StandaloneTest_sendResponse"/>
          </operation>
     </portType>
     <binding name="StandaloneTestBinding" type="tns:StandaloneTestPortType">
          <soap:binding style="rpc" transport="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/http"/>
          <operation name="sendMessage">
               <soap:operation/>
               <input>
                    <soap:body use="encoded" encodingStyle="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/" namespace="http://omarebxmlrrwsdlnew/"/>
               </input>
               <output>
                    <soap:body use="encoded" encodingStyle="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/" namespace="http://omarebxmlrrwsdlnew/"/>
               </output>
          </operation>
     </binding>
     <service name="StandaloneTestService">
          <port name="StandaloneTestPort" binding="tns:StandaloneTestBinding">
               <soap:address location="http://localhost:8080/omar/registry/soap"/>
          </port>
     </service>
</definitions>
Where the address specifies the address of the SOAP service
When I try to use this WSDL inside an ESB SOAP Service I get the following error:
The selected porttype is using a message that is invalid for ESB because it is multi-part or has a simple type.
The message StandaloneTest_sendMessage in operation sendMessage of porttype StandaloneTestPortType is invalid.
Please select another porttype or fix the wsdl.
How can I get pass by this error, what is wrong with the WSDL file ?

    Hi,
    Check in SLD your integration engine business system have the following
    pipeline url : http://server:httpport/sap/xi/engine?type=entry
    check Http port also
    After that go to TCODE - SXMB_ADM - integrationn engine configuration and check if your server is configured as HUB with the same url or not.

  • Overriding Soap Header using Axis(SOAP) Receiver

    Hi Experts,
    I am having a problem in including the SOAP Header in the XML using the SOAP Axis Receiver Adapter. Well I am not sure on how to place this structure in the header:
    <SoapHeader>
        <Header1>
            <child1>
            <child2>
        </Header1>
        <Header2>
            <child1>
            <child2>
        </Header2>
    </SoapHeader
    I have already tried overriding the SOAP Header via Java Mapping but it is not working when I send it to the third-party. I believe this header should be directly encoded using the axis module, but I can only find examples for simple headers and not nested ones...
    Please help.
    Edited by: Mark Dihiansan on Sep 7, 2010 5:15 PM

    Hi,
    you simply place your header template in the handler configuration. If you need to set some values of the header dynamically, you can pass each value in the dynamic configuration header. The axis handler will fill the header with the supplied values.
    The Axis Note 1039369 describes a few header insertion examples that you should look at.

  • PLEASE HELP! Using Apache SOAP with WL61

    Hi,
    I am trying to run the Apache soap within the WL61.
    I have the Apache soap servlet deployed under WL61.
    I am trying to use org.apache.soap.server.ServiceManagerClient
    to deploy the sample AddressBook service. I get the following error: "Unable to
    resolve namespace URI for 'xsd'".
    Now, the Apache SOAP faq says, I need to use the 1.3.0 xeces.jar
    on both server and client to solve this problem.
    However, WL61 server wont come up with the 1.3.0 xerces.jar file
    I am in a catch 22 situation, please help.
    thanks

    I had exactly this problem and by following the advice below I got it to work using
    crimson.jar from apache.
    Step 1: put crimson.jar frst in classpath
    Step 2: put the following in config.xml
    <XMLRegistry DocumentBuilderFactory="org.apache.crimson.jaxp.DocumentBuilderFactoryImpl"
    Name="Xerces JAXP" SAXParserFactory="org.apache.crimson.jaxp.SAXParserFactoryImpl"
    />
    Step 3: updated Server entry in config.xml to point to "Xerces JAXP" as explained
    below.
    I know this does not add a lot to the idea below but it is an alternative.
    Thanks,

    Hi!
    I believe the problem is that SOAP 2.2 uses JAXP and WL uses their
    bundled
    xerces as JAXP parser.
    To override this you have to modify the config.xml like this: (or
    use the web
    console)
    Add following element as child of the <Domain> element:
    <XMLRegistry
    DocumentBuilderFactory="org.apache.xerces.jaxp.DocumentBuilderFactoryImpl"
    Name="Xerces JAXP"
    SAXParserFactory="org.apache.xerces.jaxp.SAXParserFactoryImpl"
    />
    and modify the <Server> element like this:
    <Server
    InstrumentStackTraceEnabled="true"
    ListenPort="80"
    LogRemoteExceptionsEnabled="true"
    Name="myServer"
    NativeIOEnabled="true"
    XMLRegistry="Xerces JAXP" <-- only this line is important

    The "unable to resolve namespace" problem is because BEA in
    their infinite
    wisdom chose to mesh Xerces into their own libraries.
    Unfortunately they
    used an old version and because it is so embedded, you can't
    just replace a
    JAR. I was able to get 2.1 working on 6.0 sp1 by moving
    Xerces to the front
    of the classpath in the startup script. Ed, when WL won't
    start, what is the
    error you get? I haven't heard of that happening before.
    Steve, when you say
    Xerces is in your classpath, is it at the front, before weblogic.jar?

    There seems to be a xerces incompatibility. The weblogic.jarfile
    contains
    the xerces library. If you put xerces.jar first in the classpath,
    weblogic
    won't even start. However, if you put weblogic.jar first in the

    you get this error when attempting to deploy services using the

    This obviously seems to be a xerces parsing issue. Does
    anyone know of
    a
    workaround for this?

  • Handling of SOAP Faults in SOAP Clients consuming PI Web services

    Hi there,
    the following is in regards to SOAP fault error handling in a SOAP client that consumes a Web Service published by PI.
    I have been reading a number of threads and blogs in regards to this topic and I am still left with some open questions which I hope to get some final answersclarifications through this thread.
    In particular the blogs
    Handling Web Service SOAP Fault Responses in SAP NetWeaver XI      - Handling Web Service SOAP Fault Responses in SAP NetWeaver XI
    XI: Propagation of meaningful error information to SOAP Client     - XI: Propagation of meaningful error information to SOAP Client
    have caused by attention.
    Both of these threads are realating to the Fault Message type one can use to return errors back to a SOAP Client (.Net, Java, etc.).
    In our scenario we published a number of Web Services through PI that provide functionality to integrate with an R3 back-end system using inbound ABAP Proxies.
    The services are standardised and will be consumed by a number of .NetJava applications and systems. The reason for the use of ABAP proxies is the customer specific application logic that is executed in the backend system. The Web services are synchronous and don't use ccBPM in the middle. Transformations are performed in PI combined with various lookups to set default values before the message is passed into the ABAP Framework of the R3 back-end system. The lookups are done against the R3 back-end system using the PI RFC Lookup feature.
    The inbound proxies currently return application errors as part of the response message back to the SOAP client. For more critical errors we introduced the use of Fault message types as the method to return the information back to the SOAP Client. This is all working satisfactory.
    The questions I have are as follows.
    1. When an error occurs at the IE level (e.g. mapping error), ABAP Proxy framework level (e.g. conversion from XML to ABAP format) or Adapter Framework level (Adapter releated error) a different SOAP fault message structure is returned to the SOAP Client than the one    used for the application errors. The SOAP fault message structure used in this case is the standard SOAP fault used by PI to return system errors back to the caller. For those SOAP fault messages there is no payload generated that could be mapped to the SOAP fault structure used for the application errors. This would be preferrable as there would be only one Fault message structure used for both inbound ABAP proxy generated fault messages and PI generated fault messages.
    Also the error messages generated by PI can be quite cryptic and difficult to interpret at the client end and could be filtered     ranslated during message mapping if the payload of the PI generated SOAP fault message could be accessed in a message mapping.
    Point 3 of the above thread 2759 indicates that this would be possible but doesn't outline how. Could somebody please clarify this for me as I don't believe that this is really possible ???.
    My idea instead was to use the PI SOAP fault message structure to also return application errors. Therefore I would create a Fault message type that matches the PI SOAP fault structure. This would enable the SOAP Client to handle only one SOAP Fault error structure. Would that be something to look into instead ?????.
    2. We have been looking at using the integrated WEB AS SOAP adapter instead of using the AF Sender SOAP adapter. While playing with this we encountered differences in the content returned through the SOAP fault generated by PI. A sample is below. Shouldn't the content of these SOAP faults be the same if the error that caused it is the same. Also the SOAP fault returned by the IE SOAP adapter is much more    useful in this particular case. Both errors below are the same, a conversion error from XML to ABAP took place in the inbound ABAP proxy framework of the back-end system.

    Any comments are welcome.
    Thanks. Dieter

    Hi Dieter,
    As Bhavesh already mentioned fault messages are used for application errors. The same is described in SAP XI help:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/dd/b7623c6369f454e10000000a114084/frameset.htm
    In case of system error (e.g. field length too long in proxy call or error in XI/PI mapping) there seems to be no standard way of handling it and propagating the response to the consumer of webservice.
    Each system error is not recognized by SOAP adapter and SOAP adapter exception is raised.
    The only bizzare solution that I can see is developing an adapter module and transport wrong message to standard fault message before delivering it to adapter engine:

  • Web service component

    Hi,
    While creating a process workflow in LCES 8.1 I´m using the web service component. Can someone tell me how this service works in terms of proxy? Does it creates a proxy in design time (after making the load of the wsdl file) or will it try to get the wsdl file everytime the service process is invoked?

  • ESB Soap Service invoking mutiple operations of a WSDL

    Hi,
    we have a requirement where in we have to call mutiple opeartions of a WSDL.
    We tried developing this using ESB, where in we used many soap services invoking different operations of thw WSDL and a routing service which will decide on which SOAP service (Opeartion of WSDL) to invoke.
    But we just want to check if there any way that we can call many operations of the same WSDL using the same soap service.

    Your usecase should be no problem. The error java.util.NoSuchElementException seems to indicate you are refering a non existing element somewhere. Are you sure the service gets invoked with the correct message content? From the enterprise manager website you can increase the logging of esb. Go to your esb oc4j container, administration, Logger Configuration. Search for soap loggers and increase the log level. You should now see the entire xml soap messages in the log.xml file.

  • ESB SOAP Service invoke

    Hi,
    I would like to know how to invoke a ESB SOAP service from an external web service, which in turn need to interact with the Routing Service ?
    Thanks,
    OracleExpert

    I'm getting the feeling that you're mixing some things up and that you're comparing things that can't be compared.
    In ESB you create integration patterns with adapters, routing services and so on. When you deploy your integration pattern you'll end up with several webservices. E.g. a ESB integration pattern IS a webservice and all the components within a integration pattern are webservices as well.
    If you want to start / call this ESB pattern you can do it in several ways. Its a webservice so calling it is standarized. You can call the webservice from BPEL, from another ESB project, from a Java app, from PL/SQL and even from cobol!
    whether you get a reply from your integration pattern is the matter of how you implement your integration pattern ( synchronous vs asynchronous etc ).
    If you want to test this e.g. want examples please take a look at the examples provided by Oracle on OTN. These samples can then be called / tested externaly by e.g. using a free program called SOAPUI.
    HTH.

  • Unable to change ESB Soap Service endpoint

    Hi people , i have a problem,
    after creating a soap service , register de esb service on DefaultSystem, i want to call externally using
    "http://host:port/esb/wsil/DefaultSystem/<name of soap service>?wsdl
    everithing works ok , but when i try to change from Jdeveloper the enpoint URL , ESB seems to keep using the old URL in :
    http://host:port/event/DefaultSystem/<name of soap service>?WSDL ..
    If i check on esb control i can se the new "WSDL URL" on the Definition tab of this soap service. But internally in the WSDL generated by the ESB endpoint it keeps using the OLD URL
    causing obviously a:
    "SOAPException: Message send failed: Connection refused"
    if i make that resource unavailable after the change
    The question is .. why i cant change the endpoint url ????
    theres is any WSDL cache or something like in Oracle BPEL PM ??
    i need to restart (i dont try yet )
    please ill wait for any suggestions
    PS: im using ESB 10.1.3.3.0 Build:PCBPEL_10.1.3.3.0_GENERIC_070615.0525

    Hi
    I have similar problems and nobody seems to know the solution. Changing the virtual host and port in ESB console does not resolve the problem thoroughly. It's changing the end point entry but living the namespace URL of the WSDL with old value, for instance my address was: http://localhost.localdomain:8889/ .....servicename?WSDL.
    This prevents it from proper invoking by external clients, you can reach the end point and use the test page but you can't read its wsdl file without adjusting its address by hand.
    I found one solution, it's reinstalling the OAS from scratch and pass the proper name of the server when prompted but what the kind of solution is that? This is obviously deployment problem, the original wsdl file prepared in JDeveloper is used to generate the final wsdl file exposed to external clients but which is the configuration file responsible for that and why the esb console don't change the namespace url too while changing end point?
    This is the bug indeed because it's impossible to resolve from console level.

  • Reg ESB SOAP Invocation service

    Hi all,
    I am trying to invoke a wsdl in my ESB project, using the SOAP invocation service.
    My deployed web service uses authentication. I need to give username/password in order to access the end point url of the service.
    When I give the wsdl of the deployed service (in WSDL file box), and click on Port Type, I get an error dialog stating something like this: "Error while reading wsdl file. Exception: The document contains HTML tags."
    How can I configure the authentication parameters in SOAP invocation service?
    Any inputs are appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Pram

    It can be play out in couple of ways.
    First of all you can build access control by OWSM of the OAS to secure deployed services. The same task can be accomplished inside OAS control, every service has Administration tab containing security configuration.
    Another approach is to build in the security inside the service source, for instance if you use db adapters you can provide security checks inside the invoked database function.
    Finally you can build by hand the wrapper service for your services to provide necessary security checks.
    There is a lot of stuff in Internet about that, this one treat about using OWSM

  • Need Help: Not able to invoke fusion crm webservice using SOAP UI

    Hi,
    I am trying to invoke fusion crm webservice by using SOAP UI, but I am getting Invalid seccurity tocken exception.
    I have followed below steps specified in the oracle support document.
    In Soap UI, Go to File>Preferences ,select the "HTTP Settings' tab on the lower left panel, then select the checkbox 'Authenticate Preemtively'.
    2. From the wsdl extract the content from above wsdl between the tag/elements <dsig:X509Certificate> and </dsig:X509Certificate>
    3. Create a file called certificate.cer ( in local Drive) with above encrypted data enclosed between -----BEGIN CERTIFICATE-----   and -----END CERTIFICATE-----, file content shown below ( note: encrypted data
        for example
        -----BEGIN CERTIFICATE-----
    MIICCzCCAXSgAwIBAgIETy
        -----END CERTIFICATE-----
    4. Identifiy the java.home of SOAP UI , navigation (Help – System Properties) ,example ( it may be something like D:\SOAP UI download\soapui-4.5.1\jre)
    5.  Find the location of cacert file in SOAP UI ( example D:\SOAP UI download\soapui-4.5.1\jre\lib\security\cacert)
    6. Use following keytool command to add the certificate file certificate.cer into keystore cacert , sample command given below for reference
       keytool -importcert -alias rcpt-key-alias -file "D:\certificate.cer" -keystore "D:\SOAP UI download\soapui-4.5.1\jre\lib\security\cacerts"
       at command prompt when prompted enter password as changeit
    7. Restart SOAP UI and create a new project with https version of WSDL of organizationService
    8. In SOAP UI ,  in Auth tab , provide the user name and password.
    9. Invoke the Webservice
    I have used following request XML in SOAP UI
    <soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:typ="http://xmlns.oracle.com/apps/sales/opptyMgmt/opportunities/opportunityService/types/" xmlns:opp="http://xmlns.oracle.com/apps/sales/opptyMgmt/opportunities/opportunityService/" xmlns:rev="http://xmlns.oracle.com/apps/sales/opptyMgmt/revenues/revenueService/" xmlns:not="http://xmlns.oracle.com/apps/crmCommon/notes/noteService" xmlns:not1="http://xmlns.oracle.com/apps/crmCommon/notes/flex/noteDff/" xmlns:rev1="http://xmlns.oracle.com/oracle/apps/sales/opptyMgmt/revenues/revenueService/" xmlns:act="http://xmlns.oracle.com/apps/crmCommon/activities/activitiesService/" xmlns:wsse="http://docs.oasis-open.org/wss/2004/01/oasis-200401-wss-wssecurity-secext-1.0.xsd" xmlns:soap="soap" xmlns:ns1="http://xmlns.oracle.com/apps/fnd/soaprovider/plsql/fnd_user_pkg/">

    This example works fine for our Fusion Applications Cloud test instance, without any SSL setup or setting credentials on the request properties as the target service supports policy without message protection.
    Based on the your steps your service has message protection policy, so the above will not work rather you need to do additional configuration. Please check the policy on your service to confirm how the call needs to be made. Here are few links and documents:
    "How to invoke Fusion Application TCA webservice from SOAP UI (Doc ID 1496071.1)"  documents how a service with message protection can be called from SOAP UI. Your steps seem identical so presumably they are based on this document.
    "Oracle Fusion Sales Cloud Web Services (Doc ID 1354841.1)" contains information about the CRM web services including examples on the certificate import and sample payloads.
    Please provide:
    The security policies defined on the service (check the wsdl)
    The exact error message the you get

  • Can I use SOAP calls to remotely access functions on a SOAP server?

    Hi,
    I've used JavaScript and SOAP with "regular Acrobat" (e.g. Acroforms) to connect to a SOAP server, followed by Acrobat automatically setting up functions that I can call from JavaScript that, courtesy of SOAP, are relayed to the SOAP server for execution.  For example, a SOAP server that implements a Temperature function.  After doing the Net.SOAP.connect, my JavaScript magically has access to the Temperature() function, which is then executed remotely on the SOAP server courtesy of SOAP protocol.
    My question is: With Livecycle Designer and it's XFA-based forms, do I have the same ability to programmatically connect to a SOAP server and automatically have JavaScript functions set up that I can call on the server?  From what I've read, there are LC Submit and Execute operations which interact (e.g. exchange data) with a specified SOAP server, but it isn't clear that LC provides the ability to end up with a set of functions that I can call from my JavaScript that are then executed on the SOAP server.
    Stated more simply: Does LiveCycle Designer have the ability to connect to a SOAP server and automatically set up JavaScript functions that I can call (that then get relayed to the SOAP server for execution, followed by the return of data to my XFA-based program)?
    Thanks.
    Dave

    Hi Varma_LC and pguerett,
    First, thank you both for your quick responses!  It sounds like I shouldn't have any trouble using XFA forms and SOAP together.
    Let me ask a related question (not about LiveCycle & SOAP, but just about SOAP).  I'm trying to return two values from one SOAP call.  http://www.avoka.com/blog/?p=998&cpage=1#comment-1692 describes how to do this.  Unfortunately, it's not working for me.
    I'm able to retrieve single values from my SOAP server just fine.  When I try to return two values, the Acrobat JavaScript debugger says both values are "UNDEFINED".  The key part of my code is:
       var IntValue =   // define an int
         soapType: "xsd:int",
         soapValue: "1"
       var NValue =
           n1: IntValue  // n1 is the parameter my SOAP server expects
       var GetTheData = service.GetAllData(NValue);  // Go get the data and populate the GetTheData object
       console.println("GetTheData = " + GetTheData.CmdError + GetTheData.CmdResults);
       Param_1V.value = GetTheData.CmdError;     // This is a text box to display the returned value
       Param_2V.value = GetTheData.CmdResults; // This is also a text box to display the returned value
    Both the console.println & the two text boxes (beginning with Param) print out the same results, namely "UNDEFINED".
    I ran my SOAP client and SOAP server on two different computers, and then used WireShark to look at the SOAP protocol.  The SOAP protocol looks fine, and contains CmdError and CmdResults XML opening/closing tags around the actual data I'm trying to read from the SOAP server. Plus there are GetAllDataResponse and GetAllDataResult XML opening/closing tags around the data XML tags.
    I'm using Acrobat 9 and I developed my SOAP server using Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) 3.5.  The same JavaScript program that is unable to retrieve two values returns one value just fine (a different service... call, of course).  In other words, it's being done in one program, not two separate programs.  So, my singular Net.SOAP.connect call seems to be working fine.
    When I do the Net.SOAP.connect, I display the returned services, and GetAllData is listed, so Acrobat JavaScript knows about this particular service.
    BTW, the WCF built-in client works fine in retrieving/displaying the two returned values, correctly detecting and displaying both returned values.  Of course, the WCF client may have different "rules" than Acrobat has in terms of processing SOAP messages.  I've seen differences before between the WCF client and Acrobat.
    Any insights either of you have or anyone else has would be *greatly* appreciated. I've never used try/catch to trap JavaScript errors, if there is some type of error I should logically be looking for, I would be interested in information on that as well.
    Thanks!
    Dave
