Invoking a service method Issue

Hi,
When I call an operation from by consuming a WSDL in SOAP UI I am getting result. When I am using same operation by passing same parameters to the service in AppmoduleImpl it is returning null.
I heard that when regenerating proxy in 11.1.2.1.0(Jdeveloper) some files might be missing. So I regenerated them in 11.1.5(JDeveloper) and deployed project to JAR. I am currently using 11.1.2.1.0 and added JAR to Model project that was created in 11.1.5. Still my issue was not resolved. Can someone help me on this issue.

  • Invoking Business Service method which takes Hierarchy / Integration Object

    Hi,
    I want to invoke Business Service methods using JDB API invokeMethod(). There are some methods which take Hierachy/Integration object as argument. The question here is how do I creat and pass these arguments?
    Following two are the methods which take these arguments.
    1)[Hierarchy]
    Business Service:
    SHM Calculate Tax
    Method:
    SumCalculateTax
    Args:
    CalculateTax - Hierarchy - Input
    ForWhich - String- Input
    GetSubTaxCodes - Number- Output
    GetTaxCodes - Number- Output
    2)[Integration Object]
    Business Service:
    External Contact
    Method : Update
    Args :
    SiebelMessage - Integration Object - Input / Output
    Can you direct me to some sample code please?
    Thanks,
    ram

    Thank you both for the response. Regarding Rennay’s posting I have an additional question. When I create a new web service I don't have the "Document Literal" option nor a "Concrete Configuration" tab. I've created the web service using the "Web Application" project type and then adding a web service using the "Web Service..." wizard. This wizard doesn't have the configuration properties you mention, but if I add a WSDL-file to a BPEL-project the wizard has the properties you mention.
    Is it possible to create a web service, programmed as an ordinary Java-class, from an existing WSDL-file? In that case it may solve the problem with the “Document Literal” property. Currently I don’t know any other way to create such a web-service other than the through the web service wizard in a web application project. Of course, it’s possible to craft it from scratch but that’s to much work to be practical.

  • Java.lang.NoSuchMethodError while invoking web service method

    Hi, I have a web service which has two methods exposed as
    A and B.
    I deployed it on weblogic server (7.0 SP4) and fired teh request when I got this error:
    <env:Envelope xmlns:env="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:soapenc="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance">
    <env:Header/>
    <env:Body>
    <env:Fault>
    <faultcode>env:Server</faultcode>
    <faultstring/>
    <detail>
    <bea_fault:stacktrace xmlns:bea_fault="http://www.bea.com/servers/wls70/webservice/fault/1.0.0">java.lang.NoSuchMethodError
    I tried deploying the web service on another instance and there the method A was invoked but I got the same error when I tried invoking B.
    I tried it on third instance and there both the methods were successfully invoked.
    The methods A and B name start with capital letter (someone told me that method name should not start with capital letter but that does not hold good here)
    Any idea why this starnge behavior of web service?

    Hi Guys,
    I have solved the above issue by applying the PATCH 1 & PATCH 2 of the
    BPEL 10.1.2 version .
    Thanks

  • Strange about invoking web service method declared “string  method(void)”;

    Dear forum readers
    I’m experimenting with OpenESB and web services. I’ve create a simple web service using NetBeans 6.1. The method consists of a single method, getTime, that is declared:
    String getTime()
    My current experiment is to invoke this method from a BPEL-process using the “Invoke” process object. The strange thing is that it seems like I have to provide a “dummy” inbound variable from the BPEL-designer even though the method doesn’t take any parameters. I include a snippet from the BPEL process below which includes the section where I set the dummy GetTimeIn-variable and then invokes the WS method getTime().
    <assign name="Assign2">
    <copy>
    <from>'DummyValue'</from>
    <to variable="GetTimeIn" part="parameters"/>
    </copy>
    </assign>
    <invoke name="Invoke1" partnerLink="PartnerLink1" operation="getTime" xmlns:tns="http://ws/" portType="tns:MyWebService" outputVariable="GetTimeOut" inputVariable="GetTimeIn"/>
    If I don’t initiate the dummy variable or remove it altogether, I can’t successfully call the method. If I include the dummy in-parameter the call works just fine and I get back the current time as a string.
    I must admit that I’m still a rookie to web services, especially when calling them from a BPEL-process, so it may be a very trivial reason for this behaviour. Anyway, any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

  • How to access/invoke Web Service from BPM Process

    The following steps required to attach and invoke web service method from process:
    1) Add a module in the catalog for ex WebServiceMO
    2) Add WebService Catalog component demoWebService in WebServiceMO
    3) Put ur WSDL address in WSDL address field like "http://localhost:8080/test/test?wsdl"
    4) Click next to introspect the web service it will import required files and setting from the url to your project
    5) Now for invoking webservice just call the method for ex.
    @return as String[]
    getTestStringList(TestInterfaceService, out @return : @return)
    logMessage "web service calll result >>"+length(@return)+">>>"+@return[0]
    Here @ return is the return from webservice call.
    this way u can access web service from BPM process.
    Edited by: Anurag Yadav on Jul 17, 2009 2:19 PM

    I have a web service which does not return any value but when I introspect the web service, I have an out parameter to it.. Not sure why?
    For e.g.
    TestServiceListener.addTestNotes(TestNotes : testNotes, out TestNoteResponse : testNoteResponse);
    So here I see an out parameter, but my web-service has no out parameter...
    Any idea why is this happening?

  • URGENT: Getting app module service method result and calling web service??

    We have a .jar from another vendor that allows us to interact with an FOP rendering process. This .jar has methods that allow us to pass several parameters which results in the creation of the PDF which is stored in the database.
    We need to create the XML, which we've done, via view objects and a method in our application module. The developers at this point, have placed the code to call the service method into the model code that generates the XML. The actual .jar file for this is in the viewcontroller area.
    Is this a "reasonable" approach? ( that is, importing view object jar in model)
    The web service needs to have several parameters sent to it, most of which are configured in the web.xml. They are now being passed via a data action to the model's service method.
    Shouldn't the data action be written more like the following - note: some questions in here as well...
    public void onShowPdf( DataActionContext ctx )
    // note, you can get here from 5 different places in the application and we need to be able to retrieve the bindings from these separate places for proper generation... how??
    AppModule am = (AppModule) getAm();
    String strXML = am.getXML(...);
    // get web.xml values from session context...
    PDFArchiver stub = new PDFArchiver();
    stub.generate( send prms here );
    // the next page just needs to have 3 of the parameters exposed from this page to yield the results of the generated pdf (retrieve from db)
    // what would be the best way to get the parameters over there?
    } // onShowPDF
    after this data action, it simply forwards to the next page, which has a frame to display the pdf with an [ok] button at the bottom. The pdf is rendered via a Servlet.
    one last question...
    Right now, the service method was dropped on the data action, and it is automatically invoked ( we've bound the 8 parameters to it by over-riding initializeMethodParameters). If we were to switch it so the method RETURNED the XML, how would we get the results back while INSIDE A DATA ACTION? I could see if we called it by invoking a service method from the app module instance, but how do you do it in the lifecycle of the data action??
    Whew, that's all the questions for now.
    Any help, again, would be GREATLY appreciated.

    Most of the items in this previous post have been addressed. The one problem that remains is that we use a servlet to display the PDF. The servlet reads 3 parameters from the URL to send to a service method that reads and streams the PDF to the browser.
    HOWEVER, the user can view source and then paste parameters into the URL and view whatever he wants. So:
    1. How can we prevent the servlet parameters from being seen inside the source? OR, how can we simply prevent the user from invoking the view pdf servlet with other parameters?
    2. We've temporarily, written a data action (displayPDF) which has no service method. In the findForward data action, we grab the bindings that the servlet needs from other pages (4 different binding containers), then invoke the service method and write the data to the response object. This seems to work. So, our page has an iframe with the src="displayPDF.do".
    Again, should this be done another way? Seems strange to have a data action that "acts like a servlet"...
    Thanks for feedback.

  • ORACLE ADF 11g /JSF TO  serviet (Service method) not invoking

    Hi,
    ORACLE ADF 11g /JSF TO serviet (Service method) not invoking
    My project name is : ComplProject
    inside the project im having 1 jsp say x.jsp
    work environment : (oracleADF 11g) jdev11 and weblogic server 10.3
    in x.jsp im displaying 1 go link -> when ever we click on GO link it should go to ComplServlet.java
    i tried like,
    FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getExternalContext().redirect("/servlet/ComplServlet");
    the "ComplServlet" is an URL pattern in web.xml which points to servlet.
    but not working
    i pointed to faces-config.xml also , not working
    i tried to forward like
    FacesContext context = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    ServletContext sContext = (ServletContext)context.getExternalContext().getContext();
    ServletRequest request = (ServletRequest)context.getExternalContext().getRequest();
    System.out.println("third line...............");
    HttpServletResponse response = (HttpServletResponse)context.getExternalContext().getResponse();
    response.sendRedirect("/servlet/ViewDocument");
    sContext.getRequestDispatcher("/servlet/ViewDocument").include(request, response);
    brief
    (from jsf page) after clicking on GO LINK i need to redirect or control should go to servlet ->service method
    thanks in advance
    regards,
    sandeep

    Hi,
    i tried like,
    FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getExternalContext().redirect("/servlet/ComplServlet");
    the "ComplServlet" is an URL pattern in web.xml which points to servlet.
    but not workingUse like following.
        public HttpServletRequest getServletRequest() {
            return (HttpServletRequest)facesContext.getExternalContext().getRequest();
        public redirect(String url){
           getServletRequest().sendRedirect(getServletRequest().getContextPath() + "/servlet/ComplServlet");
        }If you are using golink as frank suggested then use it like this.
    <af:goLink text="ComplServlet" destination="/servlet/ComplServlet"/>no need of using context when using goLink,

    Santosh.

  • How can I invoke web service in BPM Object's method?

    In ALBPM 5.7,AJaX can code by Call BPM Object's method.So I want to invoke web service via AJaX by BPM method.
    My sample code is:
    1: HelloWorldWebService ws = HelloWorldWebService();
    2: String param = "John";
    3: String retresult = "";
    4: ws.sayHello(name : parame; out result : retresult);
    and,I have import HelloWorldWebService by wsdl into catalog.
    In fact,at line 1 there is a error(fuego.connector.ConnectorRuntimeException: session is not started). Web service's instance is not created.
    Anybody can help me? thanks.

    Hi,
    I tried calling a simple webservice deployed in weblogic 8.1(see code) and it was working fine for me.
    Code for WS
    package service;
    import com.bea.control.JwsContext;
    import com.bea.jws.Protocol;
    import org.xmlsoap.schemas.soap.envelope.HeaderDocument;
    import com.bea.xml.XmlException;
    import org.w3c.dom.Element;
    import org.w3c.dom.Node;
    import org.w3c.dom.NodeList;
    public class CheckCredit implements com.bea.jws.WebService
    * @common:context
    JwsContext context;
    static final long serialVersionUID = 1L;
    * @common:operation
    * @jws:protocol form-get="false" form-post="false"
    public boolean getCreditRating(String cardNumber)
    System.out.println("Card number is: " + cardNumber );
    boolean result = ((int)(Math.random() *100)) % 2 == 0?true:false;
    return result;
    Code from ALBPM Object method
    creditRatingResult as Bool
    getCreditRating CheckCreditService
    using cardNumber = "1234-5567-4667-4566"
    returning creditRatingResult = creditRatingResult
    logMessage "Result is: " + creditRatingResult
    What I suggest for you problem is:
    1. Check the server on which you have deployed the WS. Does it require any sort of authentication prior to connecting to the WS
    2. It seems you are using Java style in ALBPM. Try switching to PBL. I don't know how it makes a difference, but sometimes it helps

    <$executeService("servicename")$>
    The serice is getting called but I am getting the following error log
    Event generated by user 'weblogic' at host 'localhost:16200'. Unable to execute service Edit_Revision_Label and function generateRevLabelInfo.
    The service method 'generateRevLabelInfo' is not defined. [ Details ]

  • Obiee 11.1.1.6  Actions- Invoke a Java Method screen is empty

    Hi All,
    I have created and deployed an EJB for obiee11g by using the example provided in the below link
    http://www.rittmanmead.com/2010/09/oracle-bi-ee-11g-action-framework-java-ejbs-and-pdf-watermarks/
    I have mapped oracle.bi.actions also
    But I am not able to see the java method in the obiee11g Actions- Invoke a Java Method screen .The screen is empty
    I have configured the ActionFrameworkConfig.xml as follows

    Please help me to resolve this issue
    Regards
    Deepz

    1. check your t3 port no, in my case it's 7001.
    so i changed "<jndi-url>t3://localhost:9704</jndi-url>" to "<jndi-url>t3://localhost:7001</jndi-url>"
    2. if you run obiee 11.1.1.6.0 above, you don't need below.
    <credentialmap>oracle.bi.actions</credentialmap>
    so please drop this line.
    3. restart your server and check there's no error log when loading ActionFrameworkConfig.xml.
    Good Luck !!!
