Hi,
It would be appreciate if anyone can guide me on Invoking ADF 11g pages through BPM.
Thanks

  • ADF 11g SelectOrdershuttle editing the items...

    Hi,
    I am using selectordershuttle compenent to display the User levels on the adf 11g page.
    How can i edit and delete the values which are in the shuttle component?
    Thanks in advance.
    CM

    Hi,
    if you bind the shuttle to a List<SelectItem> in a managed bean you only need to take entries out of this list. Its a bit more difficult using ADF list bindings unless you are happy to delete the referenced list items from the database. However, ADF bindings also allow you to remove objects from the collection that builds the list. You should be able to access the iterator binding used by the list binding, get the row to remove and remove it from the collection (don't use the remove or delete operations in this case).

  • Issue in Creating  EAR File Using ANT in ADF 11g of Jdeveloper11g IDE

    Hi
    Rookie to this ADF 11g Framework and during the exploring of ADF 11g gone through ADF essentials in OTN and i did sample application of ANT build script and in the ADF Essentials of Ant i came across creating build.xml,build.properties and finally creating WAR file and currently i want to create EAR file so that EAR file can be deployed to my oracle Weblogic server.But ADF Essentials of ANT is totally confined to build.xml,build.properties,WAR file only ! Can any one suggest me the template build.xml of EAR file of any Sample Application so that i can come across what are the patterns,jars,excluded names,included names of EAR .
    Thanks In Advance,
    Regards
    RK

    RK,
    There are a few options. If I were doing this today, I'd just use ojdeploy (and the ojdeploy ANT task) to create the EAR file with a minimum of fuss (refer to the JDeveloper docs for more information).
    If you wanted to create an EAR file using the same technique that I used in the ADF Development Essentials article, just follow the same techniques - create an EAR file using JDeveloper and unzip it to discover the structure of what it should look like.

  • Display the status of parallel human tasks in ADF web page (BPM 11g)

    Hi,
    We create a BPMN process (BPM 11g) which splits into parallel branches. Each branch has its own user activity. We want to show the task status of ALL the parallel user activities (running or completed) in the ADF web page implemented for the user activity so the user would have the whole picture of the process.
    In another words, we are able to check the status of the component instances associated with the process instance in the Oracle EM. We want to provide the similar information (in our case, we only want to show the status of the human task components) to the user when they access the human task page.
    I wonder if the only solution is to write Java code with the API to lookup the BPMN process instance. We try to avoid Java coding if possible. Please advise. Also, so far, I have not found any complete instruction/document on how to access the BPMN process instance and check the tasks etc. through the API. Please help if you know where I could get such information.
    Thanks a lot,
    Helen

  • ADF forms based on BPM human tasks - Invoking webservices/view objects.

    Hi All,
    Is anyone aware of whether the following is a valid implementation that has been carried out before.
    1. ADF forms based on BPM 11G human tasks.
    2.The ADF forms invoke webservices via Webservice data controls. It is pertinent to note that the webservice bring back complex data types. We've tried writing a few forms, resulting in data benig brought back, but not being able to print them to the screen.
    3. The ADF forms also use View Object based on sql to bring back tables of data. If view objects are embedded within the forms, the applciation gives rise to a null pointer exception.
    Considering the form will be invoked via a BPM worklist entry, is there a setting or configuration we should consider before hand. Is this feasible, is there knowledge of this being done commercially.
    Any examples or information regarding the same will be immensely helpful.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Preethi.
    NB : I have posted this in the BPM forum as well as I feel it is relevant to both BPM and ADF.

    Hi Joonas.
    Plese let me explain me better for your understanding
    A big summary for what I meant it's the following:
    1- In the procces you made, when you add the HT activity, you have to implement it, this means declare the input(s) parameters you want. This implementation create the .task file.
    2- Create an application, and projects as HT you have. Each poject are based on the .task file, and automatically create a Data Control (for each project based on a .task) with all you need.
    This w'll be an empty application, so you can customize it all you want. The task selected should have all the parameters previously defined. Those parameters can change if you want.
    2- Create a page(s) in the task flow for the task implementation. You can even split the the payload of the task in differents pages, create your custom pages and any logic you need.
    3- An important aspect is how to match these application with the HT implemented in the process. It's possible, it's a configuration en the Enterprise Manager.
    4- Deploy your application
    All these are explain in the book I mentioned
    Th book you can find it here:

    PS: Please, let me know if you need more details.

  • Image in ADF form, through BPM binary datatype

    hi All,
    I have a scenario in bpm 11g, where a user will upload the image file and after process completion it will persist to database. I tried defining the binary datatype for holding that image, but that binary type is not displaying as image in any subsequent task. Additionally, i fetched the Blob type, containing image from the database through database adapter, it also is not been shown in the adf data table. What am i doing wrong? (Found a servlet work around, but want this to be done through bpm drag and drop). Is it possible?
    Thanks

    Hi Asad, I'm sorry for this late answer :(
    Please follow this steps:
    1- Create a new manage bean with request scope.
    2- Select from the page the image component and go to the property inspector in the attribute bindings and edit it, select the manage created and write a name for the component. You w'll see in the manage the attribute created.
    3- In the manage bean, put this (private UploadedFile _file;) as an attribute from the class and create the accessors.
    4- Do the same thing for the property value for the inputFile componet, select the manage and then the field _file* .
    5- For the inputFile select, in the property valueChangeListener select the method in the manage and set true to the property AutoSubmit
    The Manage can be this one, adapt it if you need it:
    I already test it, so I realy hope this work wor you:

  • ORACLE ADF 11g /JSF TO  serviet (Service method) not invoking

    Hi,
    ORACLE ADF 11g /JSF TO serviet (Service method) not invoking
    My project name is : ComplProject
    inside the project im having 1 jsp say x.jsp
    work environment : (oracleADF 11g) jdev11 and weblogic server 10.3
    in x.jsp im displaying 1 go link -> when ever we click on GO link it should go to ComplServlet.java
    i tried like,
    FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getExternalContext().redirect("/servlet/ComplServlet");
    the "ComplServlet" is an URL pattern in web.xml which points to servlet.
    but not working
    i pointed to faces-config.xml also , not working
    i tried to forward like
    FacesContext context = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    ServletContext sContext = (ServletContext)context.getExternalContext().getContext();
    ServletRequest request = (ServletRequest)context.getExternalContext().getRequest();
    System.out.println("third line...............");
    HttpServletResponse response = (HttpServletResponse)context.getExternalContext().getResponse();
    response.sendRedirect("/servlet/ViewDocument");
    sContext.getRequestDispatcher("/servlet/ViewDocument").include(request, response);
    brief
    (from jsf page) after clicking on GO LINK i need to redirect or control should go to servlet ->service method
    thanks in advance

    Hi,
    i tried like,
    FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getExternalContext().redirect("/servlet/ComplServlet");
    the "ComplServlet" is an URL pattern in web.xml which points to servlet.
    but not workingUse like following.
        public HttpServletRequest getServletRequest() {
            return (HttpServletRequest)facesContext.getExternalContext().getRequest();
        public redirect(String url){
           getServletRequest().sendRedirect(getServletRequest().getContextPath() + "/servlet/ComplServlet");
        }If you are using golink as frank suggested then use it like this.
    <af:goLink text="ComplServlet" destination="/servlet/ComplServlet"/>no need of using context when using goLink,

  • Invoke secured WS from ADF JSF Page

    Hello,
    How can I invoke secured Web Service from simple adf jsf page?? Service is secured by wss_username_token_service_policy.
    I'll be glad if somebody could give me some tutorial how to build this page. I mean inputs for username and password.
    Best regards,
    MK

    Hi,
    I've read your article: http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/howtos/1013/protectedws/access_protected_web_services_from_adf.htm I added to the Model - Web Service Data control and as a service give a link to my composite application deployed on soa_server (http://localhost:8001/soa-infra/services/default/registerMyPassComposite/registerMyPassWebService?WSDL). When i click on Define Web Service security I only have a window to add policies and there is no wizard steps as you shown i your article Figure 9. I cannot chose Authentication type but I can only define policies for my dataControl.
    How to resolve it?

  • ORACLE 11G: Embedding an ORACLE Form within an ADF JSF page

    We are currently reviewing the options available to allow us to embed an ORACLE 11G form within an ADF application (11.1.1.4), we are aware of the 'oraformsfaces' functionality but wanted to ask whether there were any other options available to us within ORACLE 11G?
    The reason for the question is that we were informed by ORACLE prior to upgrading to ORACLE 11G that the facility to embed an ORACLE form was 'standard' within ADF 11G hence the reason for upgrading.
    Thanks in Advance!
    Neil

    As I noted before, when you seamless, if you mean the user will be unaware that he has switched from a Forms app to an ADF app then I think he will notice - some clever integration of things like JS maps and Graphs might be seamless but a complete ADF app would be obvious to a user. Physically the Forms widgets are a different technology to ADF Faces - you can get the colors the same, you can event get the widgets the same size but it will pretty much be impossible to get the same because you are not comparing apples and apples.
    Regarding your questions
    1) Do you mean the time it takes to start up the applet? Possible longer than ADF but not necessarily
    2) Each form runtime process will have its own database connection and each user has his own applet.
    3) "Considerable" is subjective - it will involve some work but we specifically built the JS api to help
    Your last point - are you refering to "evolve core business logic into a common layer" what I mean here is that if you have a business process (e.g. hire_employee) which involves creating a new record,ordering a laptop and getting a security pass - then you could take that code out of Forms and put it somewhere else. You could then call that code from Forms (your old apps that you still need) and also call it from your new apps (so calll that code rather than calling the Forms application to do the job). - Of course, there is effort involved there...
    One final point to make ADF is NOT Forms - its not the "new" Forms and it doesn't replace Forms - so any change between Forms and ADF is by no means "go to the next version" - they are different technologies with different sweet spots - moving one to the other will be a considerable effort, and I would say one which should also accompany business process changes (if possible) as well..
    Hope this helps

  • Error executing ViewObject in ADF 11g application

    Hi,
    I've just deployed my ADF 11g (11.1.1.2.0) application to a standalone WebLogic 10.3 server. The app contains a single page with a dvt graph and it is configured to use a JDBC data source. I've created the data source via the WebLogic console and chosen the standard Oracle XA Thin driver.
    Most of the time the app works perfectly well, however very occasionally the graph fails to load and an error dialog is given instead showing a NullPointerException. The full stack trace is as follows:

    I've tried some basic Googling for possible solutions but can't find any other instances of this NullPointerException from the driver. Since I don't have the driver source, I can't debug this. Can anyone within Oracle shed some light on why the driver is throwing this error?

    Bumping a 2-year-old thread isn't likely to get you any solution. Best course for you is to post a new thread with all of your details (which will be different, unless you are using the very old 11.1.1.2 version - in which case you will be told to try a later release).

  • Urgent!!! Need help with ADF 11g app deployment

    Hi,
    My application is designed using ADF 11g and am using adfc-config.xml for page flow.
    Through Jdev 11g integrated WLS server the application is running smoothly.
    But when i deployed application using EAR file on WLS 11g server and accessed the appliction, the page flow didnt worked.
    That is i tried opening login page of my application, it opened. Then i provided login credentials , they were successfully validated.
    But after that the application home page did not apperaed and application stuck at Login page only. The page flow didnt worked.
    Please help on this, its urgent...
    Thanks n Regards
    Manav Ratra

    Thanks Timo/Arun,
    The problem was same as figured by you. :)
    The application is running smoothly in IE7 but in Mozilla 3.0.15 it is not running.
    There it is throwing error:
    Error 404--Not Found
    From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1:
    +10.4.5 404 Not Found+
    The server has not found anything matching the Request-URI. No indication is given of whether the condition is temporary or permanent.
    If the server does not wish to make this information available to the client, the status code 403 (Forbidden) can be used instead. The 410 (Gone) status code SHOULD be used if the server knows, through some internally configurable mechanism, that an old resource is permanently unavailable and has no forwarding address.
    Any pointers to this ...
    Thanks n Regards

  • Facelet support in ADF 11g

    Hi all,
    I am wondering if Facelet is officially supported in ADF 11g (currently looking at 11.1.1.3)
    I searched through both "Fusion Developer's Guide" and "Web User Interface Developer's Guide", neither guide talks about facelet support.
    Any advice is appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Ben Tse

    Depends on what you are looking to do.
    If you just want to build a facelets application then yes you can create a new web project and under the new gallery->web tier you'll see the ability to create facelets pages.
    ADF integration with facelets is going to be more extensive in the next major release that is planned to supports JSF 2.0.

  • ADF 11g - Self Study material?

    I need to get up to speed on ADF 11g ASAP.
    Does any CD/DVD/on-line course exists on this subject?
    I have tons of books - but would prefer a speedy walt-through of the basics. And then books afterwards...
    Thanks

    While you do mention you are not specifically looking for a book, there is a book for quick start learning of Oracle ADF.
    http://www.mhprofessional.com/product.php?isbn=0071744282
    The Quick Start Guide to Fusion Development Oracle ADF and JDeveloper is aimed at getting you that quick hit of ADF knowledge in as few pages as possible. There are some reviews on Amazon.com if you are looking for independant reviews, I'm obviously biased ;o)
