Invoking Child Form Process Tasks

Hi,
I would like to know,is it possible to invoke a Child Form Process task .I want to invoke a process task called "Change Password" which is there in child form,whenever a user's password gets updated in OIM.Thanks.

Hi
What exactly do you mean by "Child Form Process Task"? Tasks are defined on the Provisioning Process itself and can utilise data from the Parent Form and any Child Forms that may be linked to that form...
Can you explain exactly what you want to achieve? Are you looking to propagate an OIM User password change to a particular resource?

  • Error while accessing Child Form process info

    I've created my Process task Adapter and attached it to "AD User" Process Definition.
    When I try to retrieve information about AD Groups from the child form of UD_AD_USER (form named AD_RSC), I get the following error:
    ERROR,28 okt 2007 15:08:26,765,[XELLERATE.DATABASE],select obi_key, UD_ADUSER_VERSION from UD_ADUSER where obi_key=5
    java.sql.SQLException: ORA-00904: "OBI_KEY": invalid identifier
    the problem is that there's NO field named OBI_KEY in the standard UD_ADUSER table.
    The same thing happens when I'm trying to access child form data through Xellerate API
    ( getChildFormDefinition(long plParentFormDefinitionKey, int pnParentFormVersion) or getProcessFormChildData(long plChildFormDefinitionKey, long plProcessInstanceKey) )
    is it some king of bug? I haven't found anything at metalink :(

    I have no issues getting child table information using the APIs... I am doing it on both 9.0.1.X versions and 9.0.3.X versions. I would suggest looking at how you are getting the process keys.. (i.e., are you mapping it in through the adapter, getting it from findObjects, etc)... and also look at your configuration of the child tables and make sure everything is active and kosher.
    If you post the rest of your code, I might be able to help you.
    Cheers,
    Deborah

  • Child form Update tasks

    I have configured update tasks on the child form and even when I update a single field all the update tasks configured for that child form are getting triggered. Could you please help me understand whether this is the expected behaviour in case of child forms?
    Regards,
    Vinod

    To add more clarity to my question, the scenario is that I have more than one fields in my child form which can be updated. I had created exactly the way you have mentioned, associating the task to the Update trigger type and attached the corresponding adapter. For example I have Adapter X which is meant to address change in form field X and adapter Y which is meant to address form field Y of the same child form, I have associated process tasks P and Q mapped to trigger type Update of the Child form and integrated with X and Y adapters respectively.
    The problem is even if only X form field is changed, both P and Q are getting triggered instead of only P task. The same does not happen in the parent form. So my question is whether there is any way to control the updations in child form.

  • Disable Parent Form while invoking Child Form using FND_FUNCTION.EXECUTE

    Hi,
    Any inputs in getting this issue resolved would be really helpful? I have a parent form wherein I am calling Child form (Line Details Form) by passing the masterid it works fine. Here How do we refrain the user control to access master form when child form is opened? Here when child form is invoked by click of a button and try to close the master, still I could see the child form opened. Any help will he highly appreciated. Many Thanks.
    Please find the details of the db version and function being used to invoke the form. I tried with all parameter options, when we give Open_flag as 'N', the master form gets closed after opening the child form. Perhaps given the open_flag as 'Y'. Kindly let me know your inputs in case of any missout from my end.

  • Parent Table - Child Form(bounded task region)- Commit-Rollback Button's

    Hello,
    Here's my simple scenario:
    Jdev 11.1.1.2
    One Am(datacontrol).
    One vertical panel splitter
    On top A panel collection with a read-only table(employees VO), The table lists just a few of the attributes, so it's really just for browsing, and a toolbar with createinsert, commit and rollback button's.
    At bottom: A PanelTab with a bounded task flow - region. The child region(bounded task flow) contains an editable ADF form(same VO) will all attributes available for editing. The form(child region) also contains a 'submit' button (to post changes).
    When run the page commit and rollback button are disable. (ok)
    Navigation and sincronize between table and task flow works fine because i set partialtrigger. (ok)
    When i change some attribute in the form and then press summit button, I want the commit and rollback button's became active..
    . . any help would be much appreciated.

    Hi Bart,
    if your bounded task flow is placed in .jspx using region it is possible to reach binding container of that task flow.
    You can use handies by Edwin Biemond:
    # // main jsf page
    # DCBindingContainer dc = (DCBindingContainer)BindingContext.getCurrent().getCurrentBindingsEntry();
    # // taskflow binding
    # DCTaskFlowBinding tf = (DCTaskFlowBinding)dc.findExecutableBinding("dynamicRegion1");
    # // pagedef of a page fragment
    # JUFormBinding form = (JUFormBinding) tf.findExecutableBinding("regions_employee_regionPageDef");
    # // handle to  binding container of the region.
    # DCBindingContainer dcRegion   = form;  but ExecuteWithParam works for me in bounded task flow - I think you have mistake in your NDValue="#{pageFlowScope.pclNummer}". you should use $ instead #

  • Process Task Child Table Delete Event passes empty values

    Hi All,
    I'm trying to implement a delete event in a process task for a child table. I am assuming the value to be deleted
    should be getting passing into the adapter but it's passing empty strings instead. The insert event is working fine however.
    Any one else using the delete event that works?
    Thanx
    Fred

    Hi Kevin.
    Any idea how to programmatically access the "old value" variant of a form field?
    It's the sort of thing one needs occasionally when a value changes and some associated capability needs to be updated. The old value specifies what needs to be removed while the new value tells the system what is to be added in its place.
    (It so happens in our environment that we have dozens of these values per user profile, so it would be very painful to store "old" values in a parallel set of fields.)
    Thanks,
    Dan

  • How to trigger a process task on IT Resource process form

    Hi,
    I want to know how to trigger a process task on IT resource process form using OIM API.For Example:- If a task ilike an e-mail is to be sent on the departure date of a user.So,how can it be done using API?
    Thanks.

    This would typically be done through a scheduled task. Write your code to query for the departure date. If someone meets your criteria for an action to occur, you can either use the addProcessTaskInstance which has an adapter attached to it to send the email, or in your code, send the email.
    The details that need to be considered though is where the departure date is stored. Is it on a process form, or is it on the user's OIM profile. Do you want to disable the user or revoke the object instance at this departure date? You could use the notification tab of these existing tasks if so.

  • How to run process tasks in Xellerate User form sequentially

    I have 2 tasks in the process definition of Xellerate User. One triggers on change in department and the other triggers on manager change. I want the manager task to trigger first and then the department task to run after the values have been updated in the former task. It so happens that always department task is getting triggered first.
    I cannot have task dependency in Xellerate User form. I tried setting the response code in the manager task and have it generate department task. In this case the department task is triggered twice. First time it runs before the manager task. The second time since it is a task to run in the response code of manager task.
    How to make each task run once and have it done sequentially?

    Yes that was my first instinct but I need the old and new values of department and manager. That is possible when I make it a process task.
    Heres what I want to do-
    If there is a change in department of a user, send mail to manager with old and new department values.
    If there is a change in manager when department changes, send mail to old and new manager with old and new department values.

  • Processing Child form on parent window..

    Hi.. anyone here has any idea how to process a child form on a parent window.. like for example, i click on submit button on the child window, and the form directs to another JSP file which its results should be display on the parent window.. anyone has any idea?

    Hi!
    I had similar problem, I used frames and needed to submit a form from a frame to parent window. I used property "target" of form to specify where I want this form to be submitted, like this:
    function submit() {
         form.target = "name of the target where to submit";
         form.submit();
    or something like this:
    <html:form action="/blahblah" target="name of the target where to submit" method="post">

  • Trigger only one process task on Process form update

    Hello,
    I'd like to trigger a single process task (a single time) when one or several attributes are updated in a process form.
    any idea how to do that?
    what I don't want to do :)
    - call the same process task on "firstname update" AND on "lastname update" => this process task would be launched twice on a single process form update/save
    thanks in advance for your help

    Create a task with the form name like such:
    UD_ADUSRLX Updated
    This task will trigger any time a value(s) are updated on the form. You will get only a single task, and not individual. But if you add this task, you don't get the option of the other tasks triggering individually.

  • Invoking process task

    Hi,
    Is there a way ,I can invoke my process task manually based on some condition.For example,I have a process task "Disable User" and I need to call this task whenever an user's organization gets changed.
    Also I would like to know how process tasks are getting triggered?.
    Thanks.

    I found an interesting strategy the other day.
    First I created an adapter which I called Mirror. It's only function is to return whatever string is passed to it.
    The Process Task 'Change TransactionType' was created for each target resource and the MIrror adapter was integrated with it.
    My trusted source is an HR system that passes transaction type as a field to Xellerate User. It can have values like ENABLE_USER, DISABLE_USER, CHANGE_JOB, CHANGE_EIN, CHANGE_OSID, CHANGE_NAME etc.
    In lookup.usr.process.triggers I mapped 'Change TransactionType' to the TransactionType field.
    On the Response Code for each 'Change TransactionType' Process Task I listed each transaction type value the trusted source generates. Then associate the appropriate Process Task with each Response.
    The end result is the equivalent of a case statement for launching Process Tasks based on an operation, not just specific field values.
    I hope I explained this adequately. If not, let me know. I think you will find this strategy helpful for many different cases.

    You gotta specify your child table recon-field in the process definition mappings as a Key Field. Refer OOTB AD connector and check:
    Process Definition -> AD User ->Reconciliation Field Mappings -> memberOf
