May of 2011 this Droid will be a year old, and is going haywire.
Phone is recently shutting off during calls. Will have the phone on charge and it won't charge yet the battery icon on the phone screen is red and flashing, removed it from one outlet to the next and plug it in and the battery icon appears green( charged up). When I first bought my Droid I told my B/F to make sure they have insurance on it and 3 months later it never had insurance on it. I was highly disappointed about that. Who do I talk to. in order to get some help with this Droid thats going on the spritz?
Sincerely loving my DROID.
Or a new wall charger. Both the battery and the wall charger can go bad.

Hi, If I buy a new iPad, iOS 8, will I lose all my purchases that are on my 4 year old iPad, iOS 5.5.1? If not, how do I keep them?
Follow the instructions here or here; using the first set of instructions then requires syncing the second device with the iTunes library containing the content.

I have an ipod Classic 80G. It is a few years old and hasnt been used for a while. I have just tried to sync it to my new Mac and it says theat thei ipod is synced with another itunes account!!!
It was orriganally managed through my old pc but as far as i am aware the itunes account is the same. If i sync with my mac it will remove all that is in the Classsic and replace it with current itunes!
How can i get round this ?Hi Becki ..
You need to "authorize" the Mac.
Launch iTunes on the Mac then from the iTunes menu bar top of your screen click Store > Authorize This Computer.
Now, using the same Apple ID as you used to purchased iTunes media originally, you should be able to sync all your content.

When syncing iPod touch to MacBook, I have selected to sync only events newer than 360 days. Yet I get message that sync will change 8000 events on "this computer" most of which are years old and many are recurring events. I'm afraid to proceed with sync.
Having the same problem here. As a first time mac user, Apple has certainly made a bad first impression.
For me, the issue seems to occur when transferring files between computers that are connected to the same access point (when transferring files from wired computers on the network there is no issue). My vista laptop and every laptop I have tried has worked perfectly fine with this access point so I am 100% convinced it is the mac. Basically when I copy the files, after about 100mb, I am unable to access anything on the local network or internet until I restart Airport. The weird thing is that even though I am unable to access anything, the airport utility says it is connected. I might also note that the wireless signal strength is full.
If I can't get this figured out in a few days, this computer is going back to the store where it came from and I will officially label myself anti-mac. This type of issue is just unacceptable for something so main stream. -

My Mac Book Pro will be 4 years old in Sept. I now have Snow Leopard and bought an IPhone 4S this week. I know I need Lion to use ICloud. Can I upgrade to Lion with a computer this old?
As long as it meets the minimum requirements:
Lion System Requirements
Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
At least 2GB of memory
OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
7GB of available space on hard drive
Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply. -

When running in Arch, but viewing a partition with another installation's data on it, do directory listings like this:
ls -l | FILTER
where FILTER is a script that pulls out the Arch-announced users and groups, converts them to numeric if necessary (according to Arch's understanding), and then stuffs back in what the other installation thinks are the symbols corresponding to those numbers. This was easy enough to do, and doesn't risk breaking anything.
Marking as SOLVED, but I'd still welcome feedback about the different ways different distributions understand the groups I cited. It's very hard to track this info down. -
I upgraded my macbookpro hard drive to 1 TB then migrated my files from time machine. I'm now locked out of the computer because the password is not the same as my usual one and one that was years old and not retreivable. How do I work around this?
Whether or not you are able to recover the data off the drive yourself will depend on if the drive suffered any impact damage in the crash. You can buy USB SATA or IDE adapters (Intel and almost all G5 use SATA) that will let you connect your hard drive to a computer (like a flash drive) to see if you can recover the data. If the drive has suffered physical damage if may not mount.
If you know someone who has one of these adapters you could try using theirs, otherwise you could buy one but you take the risk of the data on the drive being non recoverable. Regardless, both are much cheaper than $1699!
(Alternatively, if you know of someone with a Mac Pro or PowerMac G5 they may be able to install the drive in their machine and try to boot from or mount it and copy the data off.) -
I have a pc that is one year old and the hard drive is crashing we use it only for quick books to run our small business I would like to buy a macmini and install the OS from the pc to the apple product i will not use the pc after, can i use the OS off the pc or do I have to purchase another?
I think you can get Windows 7 for around $99. Install the 64bit version as the 32bit version will not be able to use all your new computer's ram if you have more than about 3.5gb.
Back up your quick books data now before the old hard drive dies. You can copy your data over to your new installation of Windows and quick books.
By the way, there is quick books for Mac http://quickbooks.intuit.com/mac/?sc=BNR-000-COR-quickbooks&priorityCode=4902000 000&cid=ppc_google_QB-Intuit-Core-Brand-Mac_quick-books-for-mac_exact&site=&ad_i d=9347918288&raw_keyword=quick%20books%20for%20mac
So you may not need to install Windows at all. -
My airport express is 10 years old and I get the message that this version of airport utility (6.2) doesn't support my base station? What to do?
What to do?
Two Options:
1) Buy a new AirPort Express, which will be supported.
2) Try a workaround....not supported by Apple.....to install AirPort Utility 5.6 on the Mac using the Mountain Lion operating system and use the 5.6 application to administer the old AirPort Express. See this thread for more details:

mm, I was deleting some files last night and when I came to booting up this morning my Macbookpro (5 years old) i was greeted with a user login screen? put in my password, but all i get is the space screen and no further action...? cant get apps o my bar
Sounds like you may have deleted something you shouldn't have. Boot to an OS X DVD or a bootable backup, and using Disk Utility, do a repair disk, and while there repair permissions. Disconnect any peripherals, and reboot. If you get the same startup behavior, do a safe boot, by holding the shift key down when booting. If that works, try a normal boot. If neither step helps, you may need to relaod your operating system.

Why did my screen crack while charging? It hasn't been dropped, every time I charge it a new crack appears I'm tired of this it's only a year old! If its not covered under warranty never again will I go apple I've had nothing but issues so far.
We can't answer that. Maybe the battery is bad and is swelling inside the phone. Maybe someone else dropped it and didn't tell you about it.
Make an appointment at the genius bar and see what they say.
If it's over a year old, then it's not covered under warranty. -
My MacBook is almost two years old and has started running really slow. It gets bogged down when it is running different programs at the same time, like Safari and Pages. It didn't react this way until recently. Any advice would be very welcome.
Launch Disk Utility and select the icon of the internal drive (the drive itself, not the volume icons below it.) Is the SMART status "Verified?" If not, replace the drive immediately. If the status is "Verified," the drive may still be failing. Back up all data, if you haven't already done so. Reinstall Mac OS X, then run Software Update. Test with all wired peripherals disconnected. If it's still slow, you have a hardware problem.

Will my 5 year old ( hardly used ) LG flatron monitor 1730S work with a new Mac Mini ? Thank You. Robert.
You don't say what sort of Inputs it has available, but if VGA, DVI or HDMI then yes, you might need to buy an adapter of some type though ...

I've already tried unplugging the power chord, and as soon as it turns back on I get back to the screen that tells me to connect to iTunes via USB. Do I really have to do it? The Apple TV was working great before I updated its software without me eve

Time Capsule seems to be doing nothing
I seem to be getting very intermittent results with Time Capsule. I'm using it to back up my G5 Mac Pro and my G4 Powerbook. After a couple of very hefty backups that lasted several days I seem to have an initial backup of both devices on my Time Cap
