Invoking external AS from Main.asc?

Hi all,
I'm hoping anyone can point me in some intelligent direction.
I have a main.asc in my FMS3.5 application. I'd like to be able to import things like AS3Crypto, com.adobe.serialization, etc, to be used in main.asc.
However, there seems to be no clear way to do so.
2 possibilities come to mind:
1) I'm not seeing something in the docs that is super obvious.
2) I'm attempting to use server-side AS for something that it is not intended for..
All I'm trying to do is verify url signature in my onConnect, however, I can't even get access to simple things like byteArrays, let alone invoke AS3Crypto. I can load other ASC files via global load() method, but this seems to bleed to death if I attempt to convert complex AS3 classes to ASC.
Is it intended that this sort of functionality be soley offloaded to another application via webservice/whatever? Or am I simply looking at this all wrong?
Any leads or advice would be tremendously appreciated.
Thanks all.
j

Pardon me if I am trivial here but server-side AS is plain simple AS-1 code to me so loads of things integrated with AS-2 & 3 versions are not avaible.
Using services like AS3-Crypto will need loads of rewriting to make them compliant with AS-1 capabilities.
Sorry if I misunderstood your need, hope I get useful here for you.

    Best regards,

    javascript are run on the client side.. but i think what you actually mean is getting some validation to your database without submitting the form?. yes it doesn't consumes time and memory of server.. why not use ajax so you can only submit a little request.. rather than submitting the whole page..

  • Secure Flash Remoting from main.asc not returning a result

    Hi, Iv got a problem here that could be Flash Remoting or
    Flash Media Server related
    I have created an application that uses flash media server
    and flash remoting.
    For authentication in my app I used Kevin Towes suggested
    method "Secure Authentication with Flash Communication Server:
    Using Tickets and Flash Remoting MX." His article is here
    Download
    PDF Here
    Now to the problem...
    My application has no problem connecting to coldfusion using
    flash remoting with the defaultGateway url set to
    "https://www.mysite.com" (ie over SSL)
    However In main.asc, on the Flash Media Server
    When Flash Media server attempts to validate the login by
    connecting to CFMX using flash remoting it gets no response when
    using a secure gateway url. If I set the default gateway url to
    just
    http://www.mysite.com it works
    great.
    Why do I not get any response when using https as my gateway
    url from Flash Media Server?
    thanks

    Sounds like you need to enable mappings for your remoting
    gateway. I'm not sure if it's the same as Flex, but here's what you
    might need to do, or something similar...
    In c:\cfusion8\wwwroot\WEB-INF\flex\remoting-config.xml (or
    wherever CF is installed) look for the <use-mappings> node
    and set the value to true. You will need to restart CF

  • Controlling multiple external swfs from main timeline

    Hi, I've been trying to combine the features of two tutorials I found, one that deals with controlling external swf's from the main timeline and the other that explains how to load and unload multiple external swf's.  I'd like to be able to load and unload multiple external swf's, and control these swf's buttons from the main timeline.
    I asked this same question on the forum of the site where I found these tutorials, and receive only one reply saying that "it should'nt be hard to do." but they did not elaborate any further.  This left me think that I was missing something very obvious and I've spent too much time now trying to work what it is now.  I understand pretty much how both pieces of code work, but just can't work out how to combine them.
    If someone could explain it to me, I'd much appreciate it.
    Tutorial One code - controlling an external swf from the main timeline.
    var ldr:Loader = new Loader();
    var urlReq:URLRequest = new URLRequest("swfs/balls.swf");
    ldr.load(urlReq);
    function loadHandler (event:Event) {
    var myClip:MovieClip = event.target.content;
    addChild(myClip);
    function myClipOver(event:MouseEvent):void {
    myClip.myBlueBalls.stop();
    function myClipOut(event:MouseEvent):void {
    myClip.myBlueBalls.play();
    // set listeners
    myClip.addEventListener(MouseEvent.ROLL_OVER, myClipOver);
    myClip.addEventListener(MouseEvent.ROLL_OUT, myClipOut);
    // listener
    ldr.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, loadHandler);
    Tutorial Two code - loading and unloading multiple external swfs.
    var Xpos:Number = 110;
    var Ypos:Number = 180;
    var swf:MovieClip;
    var loader:Loader = new Loader();
    var defaultSWF:URLRequest = new URLRequest("swfs/eyesClosed.swf");
    loader.load(defaultSWF);
    loader.x = Xpos;
    loader.y = Ypos;
    addChild(loader);
    // Btns Universal function
    function btnClick(event:MouseEvent):void {
    removeChild(loader);
    var newSWFRequest:URLRequest = new URLRequest("swfs/" + event.target.name + ".swf");
    loader.load(newSWFRequest);
    loader.x = Xpos;
        loader.y = Ypos;
    addChild(loader);
    // Btn listeners
    eyesClosed.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, btnClick);
    stingray.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, btnClick);
    demon.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, btnClick);
    strongman.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, btnClick);

    I will not be able to help you with whatever relaxatraja provided though it is purported by relaxatraja to be clearly explaining what I was explaining (???).
    Your loadHandler function appears a bit confused.  For the code you show I don't see you assigning any event listeners for the events that will be dispatched in the loaded file.  As I showed earlier, your loadHandler function should be assigning a listener for the event that will be dispatched (modified slightly below). and if you have three different events being dispatched in the loaded file, then you'll do better to have three different listeners.  I show only one below for one of the events you dispatch...
    function loadHandler (event:Event) {
      // assign a listener for the loaded file's goExit function's event
       MovieClip(event.currentTarget.content).addEventListener("close", event1Handler);
    // I can't make sense of what you have here
        removeChild(myClip); // why ?? - it hasn't been added yet as far as I can see - error 2007?
        var newSWFRequest:URLRequest = new URLRequest("swfs/" + event.target.name + ".swf"); // the event.target is the Loader
        ldr.load(newSWFRequest); // this will load over the file you just finished loading??
        ldr.x = Xpos;
        ldr.y = Ypos;
        addChild(myClip);  // why?? it has nothing in it
    function event1Handler(e:Event):void {
        // do whatever is involved with what the "close" event is supposed to do
        trace("goExit function executed");
    As far as what you have in the loaded file, you appear to be trying to pass the files names as if they were parameters.  The file naming should be done at the receiving side for the event handler function for the event listener.  While you could create a custom event that include parameters that you can pass, that's another level of coding that is better left for a future experience.
    Study the following - understand it before you try to use it.
    Below is a link to some files I made for another posting that demonstrates what I have been explaining.  The neurope file is the main file.  Publish the netherlands file so that you have an swf to load for it, and then run the neurope file.  The file that gets loaded (netherlands) only has a button in it that when clicked dispatches an event for which the main file (neurope) has assigned a listener.  The main file displays a message when the button gets clicked in the loaded file.

  • Invoke external application from Oracle Application Form

    Hi,
    I need to invoke external application such as AutoCAD from Oracle Apps Form. Does anyone know how this could be done.
    Form Version : 12.0.11.12010000.2
    Oracle Applications Release R12.
    Thanks,
    Ash

    You can use DDE.App_Begin to open apps such as MS word.
    Try and see if it works for you.
    The other option is you add a menu option (called Launch Autocad) using personalization.
    And then use personalization to launch a web page. This assumes that Autocad app is available as a web service.
    Hope this helps,

  • Error invoking external WS from pl/sql ( 11i10 Appls DB)

    I stuck when I'm trying to call a WebService from pl/sql. I get error : "...'Element' is an invalid node type. Line 6, position 7...."
    what i did: Wrote a plsql, assembled envelop, body(hardcoded with xml data) etc and used utl_http functions to begin soap request. When i run this plsql, then i get above errror.
    Question: Why did i get this error, especialy when I'm not using Element characters in my code ? Are there any specific java class or pl/sql pkgs that need to be installed in 11i10 DB (9.2.0.5.0) inorder for DB to be compatible in invoking a Webservice (SOAP over http)? If so,what are they and Doesn't these pkgs come when you install 11i10? Are there any preparations/setups that I need to do to DB to invoke WS from plsql?
    Please guide me as this is the first time we are invoking a Webserivce from plsql

    Thank you very much, Tugdual, for pointing to right documents. I have read thru them and now have an understanding what jar files need to be present.
    Yes, I have looked at WS Doc but it was Version 10g (9.0.4) where there is not much info. The newer version 10g Release 3 (10.1.3) has changed a lot :)
    Just to jott here : The delta files from base 11i10 to jars needed by webservice are (min) 1. soap.jar, 2. dms.jar 3. servlet.jar
    4. jssl-1_1.jar [Only if we are using SSL on both endpoints)
    Thanks

  • Please help with error message invoking external service from BPEL

    Yes, I'm new to Oracle SOA Suite and BPEL Process manager. I've searched the forums, OTN, and Google and have not found any description of this error message:
    "oracle.fabric.common.FabricException: Number of SOAP body elements and parts do not match in operation: <operation-name>"
    Using JDeveloper 11.1.1.2.0 and WebLogic/SOA 10.3.2.0.
    The BPEL process was built completely using JDeveloper's graphical tools... I haven't done any raw editing of the BPEL files yet. What types of things might I possibly be doing wrong that would cause this error to occur? Any idea what two things the server is comparing and deciding that there's a mismatch? It doesn't look like it is even attempting to invoke the external service, but bailing out before that, thinking that it's going to send bad data. Below is a bit more detail.
    Also, I loaded up the WSDL (same one that I gave to JDeveloper) into SOAPUI. Then I took the payload that SOA was about to send (see below) and pasted it into SOAPUI. SOAPUI didn't complain and the target web service accepted the message and produced a "success" response. It looks like the payload is correct, so I don't know why SOA is complaining.
    Thanks for any help you can offer.

    Welcome to BPEL. Take a moment, and write "it's a namespace issue" on a sheet of paper. Post it near your monitor. It won't always be a namespace issue, but it's usually a good thing to suspect first! Is the namespace prefix ns1: defined somewhere? Does your XML that is being sent really match what the WSDL has for input to the UpsertEmp operation? The namespaces for each element level in the XML need to match, not just the lowest level.
    When problems like this get really sticky, you can use TCP tunneling (obtunnel shell?) to capture what is really being sent to the server, and compare that to what is sent from SOAPUI. That's more useful if it's a subtle header problem, but you may get better error messages if you catch the BPEL message and send it using SOAPUI.
    Good Luck, Andy

  • GotoAndPlay specific frame in external swf from main swf

    I have a main swf that loads 2 external swfs.
    I click on button to see content of external swf #1 and see stuff. I do something that causes external swf to show other stuff (i.e. not at beginning state)
    In the main swf I click on button to see content of external swf #2. External swf #1 content is made invisible and I see content of external swf stuff.
    NOW, if I click on button to take me back to see external swf #1, I see it's content in current state. I want to force it to start over again at frame #1 which will reset content.
    However, no matter what I try, I can't seem to control which frame to go to in external swf using gotoAndplay.
    Here is code in frame #1 of main swf to load external swfs:
    //load academic movie
    var swfLoader1:Loader = new Loader();
    container1.addChild(swfLoader1);
    var url1:URLRequest = new URLRequest("academic.swf");
    swfLoader1.load(url1);
    //load wisdom movie
    var swfLoader3:Loader = new Loader();
    container3.addChild(swfLoader3);
    var url3:URLRequest = new URLRequest("wisdom.swf");
    swfLoader3.load(url3);
    Here is code in frame 2 of main swf that checks button to see where to go in external swf:
    //academic button clicked
    function academicClick(event:MouseEvent){
       container3.alpha = 0;
       container3.visible = false;
       container1.visible = true;
       container1.gotoAndPlay(1); //this is where I am trying to force it to start at frame 1
       container1.alpha = 1;
    I don't want to reload the external movie to force it to start over.
    Any help would be much appreciated.

    You can easily control this by making the external swf to load with your movieclip, The below is the code snippet that clear on accessing the specific frame on external swf.
    //Loading clips content
    var ldr:Loader;
    var mcExt:MovieClip;
    //Loading
    loadswf("external.swf");
    function loadswf(tmp:String):void{
        unloadSwf();
        ldr= new Loader();
        ldr.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(ProgressEvent.PROGRESS, progressListener);
        ldr.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, swfLoaded);
        ldr.load(new URLRequest(tmp));
        function progressListener (e:ProgressEvent):void{
            ploader.visible=true;
        function swfLoaded(e:Event):void {
            mcExt = e.target.content as MovieClip;
            ldr.contentLoaderInfo.removeEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, swfLoaded);
            mcExt.addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME,onEnterfn);
            ploader.visible=false;
            addChild(mcExt);
    //UnLoading
    function unloadSwf():void{
        if (ldr!=null){
            ldr.unloadAndStop();
            removeChild(mcExt);
            mcExt=null;
    //Intervals (The part you work on the specific frame within the external swf
    function onEnterfn(e:Event):void{
        var num:int=mcExt.currentFrame;
        if (num==1) mcExt.play();
        if (num==9) {
                mcExt.skipmc.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,skipfn);
                function skipfn(e:MouseEvent):void{
                    mcExt.stop();
                    mcExt.removeEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME,onEnterfn);
                    gotoAndStop("help");
        if (num==mcExt.totalFrames){
            mcExt.removeEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME,onEnterfn);
            gotoAndStop("help");

    Hello,
    Does anyone know if it's possible to execute an external script with the onDisconnect function on FMS?
    I'm trying find a better way to log when a user disconnects from a chat application.

    Can you be a little more specific as to what kind of external script you want to run, when application.onDisconnect is triggered? How exactly do you want to log disconnect activity?

  • Invoke external programs from Java

    I am running a Java program which will be used to invoke other command line programs in Windows.
    However, it seems Java has problem in checking the termination state of command line programs in Windows. In the example below, the pp.waitFor() will keep waiting even if the command completed execution. I try the same code below in Unix and it works without problem. Is there anyone has come across the same problem before ?
    I am using JDK1.4.1.
    try {
    Process pp = null;
    BufferedInputStream bi = null;
    pp=Runtime.getRuntime().exec("dir");
    bi = new BufferedInputStream(pp.getInputStream());
    pp.waitFor();
    int size=bi.available();
    while (size>0) {
    byte[] buf = new byte[size];
    bi.read(buf);
    System.out.println(new String(buf));
    size=bi.available();
    } catch (Exception e) {
    System.out.println("Exceptions !!!");
    System.out.println(e.getMessage());

  • Startrfc - SAP utility to invoke ABAP programs from External systems

    We have used the startrfc uitlity that comes along with the SAP Presentation CD. This is bundled with the SAP RFC SDK kit. The startrfc utility can be used to invoke ABAP programs from external systems or servers.
    When using the startrfc from the SAP server using the parameters
    startrfc -h 10.60.0.31 -s 01 -c 100 -u USERNAME -p PASS -F <Function Module> -E TPPARAM=\usr\sap\trans\bin\tp_domain_<SID>.PFL -T LIST,300,w=list.txt

    However when using the same startrfc with the exact parameters from another server we get the message " Incorrect user or password". If we use the SAP GUI from this server to connect to the SAP server using the same username and password we are able to connect to the SAP system.
    Has anyone encountered any similar issues with Startrfc? Any suggestion will be appreciated.

  • Invoking external C code from Oracle

    How do I invoke external C code on another machine from Oracle?
    I need certain queries in Oracle to trigger a call to C code that is running on a different machine. We need to find out which architecture is suited to this.
    We plan to port this solution to other databases in the future, so it would be better if the solution was platform independent.
    Thanks

    What is the API to this C code?
    What, exactly, would you be looking for in a platform independent way to invoke C code from a database? You can build a web service interface to the C code, which would provide a relatively database independent interface to various databases. But the Oracle code that would call the web service would be very much database specific. As would the code in any other database to call a web service. Plus if you're talking about data mining, you're probably talking about transferring a rather large volume of data from the database, which would generally make web services and the associate XML a rather inefficient data transfer mechanism.
    Most databases have the ability to generate a flat file as well, but that tends to be a rather database-dependent API.
    Can the C code not extract the data from the database? There are a ton of somewhat database independent APIs that would allow a client application extract data from a variety of databases.

  • Facing issue in invoking an external webservice from 11G Bpel

    Hi,
    I am facing an issue in Invoking PIM webservice from 11G soa.. getting the following error in the invoke activity(Invoke calls PIM webservice).. the same thing used to work in 10.1.3.4 where i set username/pwd in the bpel.xml for that partnerlink. here in 11G i did it through "Configure WS policy"     and setting oracle/wss_username_token_client_policy to true..
    the error message is
    <messages>
    <input>
    <PublicationService_GetBatchSystems_InputVariable>
    <part name="body">
    <PublicationService_GetBatchSystems>
    <batchAndLang>
    <BatchId>1543</BatchId>
    </batchAndLang>
    </PublicationService_GetBatchSystems>
    </part>
    <part name="header">
    <ServiceBean_Header/>
    </part>
    </PublicationService_GetBatchSystems_InputVariable>
    </input>
    <fault>
    <bpelFault>
    <faultType>
    <message>0</message>
    </faultType>
    <remoteFault>
    <part name="summary">
    <summary>InvalidHeader: Invalid or missing header in request.</summary>
    </part>
    <part name="detail">
    <detail>javax.xml.ws.soap.SOAPFaultException: InvalidHeader: Invalid or missing header in request.</detail>
    </part>
    <part name="code">
    <code>null</code>
    </part>
    </remoteFault>
    </bpelFault>
    </fault>
    <faultType>
    <message>0</message>
    </faultType>
    </messages>
    i compared the payload from 10G and 11G the only difference i could find is the order of soap body and header is different.. is it because of this??
    i checked in wsdlt the order is correctly declared (first header then body).. but whenever i am creating a variable on this Msg type.. and expanding the variable in jdev the order is getting reveresed.. not sure why?? there is no change in the flow from 10G to 11G.. apart from the migration.

    Thanks.. This works..
    But it gets lost whenever we redeploy that process..
    And of course even though I am seeing http user & http password can be configured in composite.xml.. It is not taking effect..
    After redeploy, still the HTTP UserName & Password is blank.

    <property name="oracle.webservices.auth.password" type="xs:string"
    many="false" override="may">password.xxxxx</property>
    </reference>
    Client is interested in solving only through code not through UI..
    Any thoughts..
