Invoking the Tools- Compare VI's functionality from my LV program

Hi, my application requires that I invoke the 'Compare VI's' functionality of LabView from my LabView 7 program. Can someone tell me if and how this is possible.

The VI is called procmpheir.llb\CMP compare two VIs.vi . Its UI is not the same as the one you get from the menu, but it looks to me like NI wrote a pretty wrapper for this VI (which really does the work). You can do the same in your application.

  • Can Any one tell me what is the step in calling a function from a *.lib file in Labview application

    Hi, I am working on Labview 8.0.
    I am trying to  communicate to a thrid party HW using the driver file he has provided to me.
    The drive file is a *.lib file.
    I am unable to call the function from the lib file.
    I could get only from a DLL.
    Pls help .

    When it is possible in Lab Windows, why calling a function from a static library is prohibited?
    I was trying to use Function node, but found that it is only for functions from a DLL file.
    Will CIN be useful.?
    LabWindows is not the same as LabVIEW. LabVIEW cannot call .lib files. LIB files are intermediary products and you need to use a wrapper DLL that's compatible with the object format of the .lib file. It's as simple as that. LabWindows creates C application and from that perspective is no different than a regular C
    compiler. That's why you can call .lib files because that's how .lib
    files are used.
    A CIN, as pointed out, is something completely different and will not help you.

    Thank you for your suggestion.
    I tried it, but got the same result. I think the difference in the syntax is due to the Oracle versus SQL92 standard
    conformance. Your statament is the Oracle version and mine is the SQL92. I think both statements are acceptable
    by the Oracle.

  • Call ODT's functionality from my own program?

    Is it possible to call ODT's functionality (e.g. generating CREATE script for an object) from my own program?

    No, it is not possible.

  • Help regarding the calling of a oracle function from the OTL.

    Hi,
    I created a Oracle function like get_employee_id() which will return the employee id if the name and department exists.
    If not exists it will insert the record and return the emp_id.
    get_employee_id(name,department)
    if name and department exists id will be returned
    else record will be inserted and emp id will be returned.
    emp_id is a sequence which will be triggered to auto increment.
    Problem is::
    Not getting a correct way to access get_employee_id() from OTL interface.
    I am trying like
    query << "BEGIN :3<int> := get_employee_id(:1<char[128]>,:2<char[1024]>); END;" ;
    otl_stream oos(1, query.str().c_str(), db());
    oos << emp_name ;
    oos << emp_dept ;
    while(true){
    oos >> emp_id ;
    if(!oos) break ;
    Please let me know what is the correct way of accessing this.Thanks for the help in advance.

  • Suddenly, pop-up menus began appearing when I press the cursor on the track-pad, which prevents me from opening a program or a file.  I've had to wait and hope that a hand icon would appear when I track over the program or file.  Is it a preference fix?

    Suddenly, pop-up menus appear when I move my cursor over a file or a program to open it.  Is there a preference setting that will fix this?

    What do the menus say. Do they show system functions? Are they advertising. Do they happen with every program?
    The preference  to check is Universal Accesss:
    See if any main options are turn on.  The Keyboard tab is selected in the screen shot, Also select the Mouse & Trackpad tab and see if anything has been activated.
    If that doesn't show the issue, I'm guessing your CONTROL key is stuck down.

  • Is the VXI bus timing on an 870 using VIC the same as I will get from my application program ?

    I have a 3rd party instrument that interferes with interrupts on modules in higher numbered slots. This instrument just passes the daisy chain along, but I suspect it is responding when it should not during an interrupt ack cycle. VIC interrupt ACK worked fine. Is the VXI bus timing fixed by the controller ? Is what I see on the bus with VIC what I will get using VISA calls?

    In VISA, you use VISA Enable Event to configure VISA with what type of event to watch for (such as interrupts). Then use VISA Wait on Event to actually wait for the interrupt to be generated and then acknowledged. Finally, you use VISA Disable Event before ending the VISA session.
    You will find tabs that correspond with these names in VISA Interactive Control. First use the Enable Event, select the event type and whether you want a queue or handler mechanism (I would suggest queue), and press Execute. Then go to the Wait on Event tab, set your timeout, and press Execute. As long as the interrupt occurs before the timeout period has elapsed, you will see the interrupt information returned. You can Execute Wait on Event numerous time
    s and it will return the next interrupt in queue. Before closing the VISA window, Execute Disable Event.

    Can some one provide the syntax of calling user function from interface mapping.Oracle's Call Iinterface, the OCI, does not work differently when coding using a Dvorak keyboard, or writing code using a pretty pink font in the editor.. or coding the call from an interface mapping (whatever the hell that that is).
    You have 2 types of calls. SQL and PL/SQL.
    To call a function via SQL, it can be done using a the standard cursor interface. E.g.
    select MyFunkyFunction from dualIt will return the function value via a single row with a single column. The standard cursor fetch and close cursor calls are used.
    To call it via PL/SQL, an anonymous PL/SQL block is needed, and the caller needs to use a bind variable to receive the value from the function. The anon block will look as follows:
    begin
      :bindVar := MyFunkyFunction;
    end;Refer to your client's abstract layer for interfacing with the Oracle Call Interface, on how to deal with bind variables.

  • Invoking the main() method of a class within another

    Greetings -
    Can someone tell me what happens when you invoke the main() method of a class from within another class?
    I have a third-party class, designed to be invoked from a command line, that I want to invoke from within a separate class. What appears to be happening is that following the successful execution of the third-party class, the invoking class is terminated as well. That's not the intended behavior I had envisioned. ^_^
    Is there a better way than invoking the main() method? I still need the invoking class to continue executing.
    Thanks!

  • Call partner function from ship to party

    Dear Gurus,
    I have two account group A and B, A contain the partner function of SP, SH, BP and PY, and B account group having function of ship to party, bill to party and payer.
    In configuration i have made the settings.
    At sales order level i enter the sold to party and if enter different ship to party in the next field system call the BP and PY from Ship to party master record. that is as per requirement.
    But if i presss enter after entering the sold to party no system call all the function from sold to party, and then if i change the ship to party system only change the ship to party but not again determine the BP and PY partner function from ship to party.
    Kindy suggest the possibe solution so that system again the redetermine the bill to party and payer function.
    Looking for the gurus response.
    Regards,

    Hi,
    In your partner partner procedure against partner function BP or PY enter source as SH then system will determine this to functions on basis of Ship to party
    Or else either you can not maintain other partner functions in sold to party master means you can take all partners from ship to
    Or else manually put ship to party immediate after sold to party and then enter
    Or else check any user exit available for re-determination of partner
    Note : First option will definitely work, try

  • VBA code that calls the Send Active Work Sheet function

    Hi There,
    I would like to know if it is possible to have a button that calls some VBA code that does the same as the u201CSend Active Work Sheetu201D function from the BPC action pane. I am developing a custom workbook, but would like to have a button that calls the send active worksheet and returns the status window .  "MNU_ESUBMIT_REFSCHEDULE_SHEET_REFRESH" sends the active worksheet but does not return a status window.
    Kind Regards

    I am unaware of any other "undocumented" features that might perform the exact scenario you are needing.  Perhaps this is an enhancement request.
    If you only need to display a generic informational dialog that data has been sent and not include the specifics of the data that was sent (ie: number records sent, accepted, rejected...).  Perhaps you could use one of the MNU_eSUBMIT_SHEET options that doesn't provide the results feedback and then in an AFTER_SEND() function pop-up a msgbox informing the user that data has been sent?
    Or, investigate the use of MNU_eSUBMIT_VALIDATE prior to the MNU_eSUBMIT_SHEET.....I personally have never used that option.

    NB am working from a hyperterminal seession.

    I assume you mean that you are using a serial line console. If this is set up in the default way, then sending an RS-232 BREAK sequence should drop you to the boot prompt. I've no idea how to do this from Hyperterminal, but there should be an option to do it in one of the menus somewhere. Alternatively, physically disconnecting then reconnecting the serial line is often interpreted as a BREAK.
