IOS 4.2.1 - can't sort events anymore in Photos app?

I have an iPhone 4 running iOS 4.2.1, and I'm using iTunes 10.1 and iPhoto '11 (9.1) on OS X 10.6.5.
In iPhoto on my computer, I have Events sorted newest to oldest, and it showed up that way on my iPhone before the iOS 4.2.1 update. Since updating, Events will only stay sorted oldest to newest, and no matter what I try (changing sort order and back in iPhoto, syncing in between changing sort order, restarting iPhone, etc...) I can't seem to get my iPhone to reflect the sort order that shows in iPhoto.
Is anyone else experience this problem? And more importantly, has anyone found a fix for this? I don't understand why iOS 4.2.1 would break photo sorting if there were no changes made to the Photos app.

The same thing happened to me. I was on a mission yesterday to fix it, but didn't get it to work. I have 1 more thing i want to try... but haven't had a chance.
Has anyone fixed this?
My plan is to unsync photos to remove them from my phone, delete all the photo cache information from the iPhoto Library package, empty the trash, reboot my computer AND iPhone, open iPhoto to make sure they're sorted correctly, and then sync my phone. If that doesn't fix it... i dont know, i might call Apple.

Unknown events in the photos app

After Install 5.1 there are unknown events in the photos app like 137imprt or 138imprt and so on. Is there a way to delete them, I already delete all pctures in this folders.

I found this work arround:
first I opened the empty folder, than I added one (old) picture in this folder, opened the picture, deleted this picture - and then disappeared not only this picture even the folder!

What happens when you try to buy them, does the 'buy' button not work, do you get any error messages ... ?

Can videos be trimmed in the Photos app in iOS 5? This doesn't seem to be an option any longer.

Previously in ios 4, the length of videos could be trimmed in the Photos app. It appears this functionality was removed for some reason. Can this be confirmed?

I went through all options of Universal Access and didn't see the 5 key mapped anywhere. When I open the Keyboard Viewer, if I hit 4 or 6, the appropriate key lights up. However, nothing happens when I hit the 5 key.
If I hit ^5, the 5 key lights up but isn't printed to the screen. "∞", and "%" seem to work fine as well.

Where can I find the "event" information I had in iPhoto events in new photos app?

Just upgraded to OS X and the new Photos app and I am having a hard time adjusting from iPhoto where I had (happily) organized years of photos into events. I can see my 771 "events" now called albums in a sub-album called "iPhoto events" HOWEVER, I cannot seem to find/view the little notes or summaries of event information that I had inputted in iPhoto. I often wrote a brief (or detailed) bit of information, anecdotes or fond memories about various "events" and now I am frustrated that might all be gone. Can anyone help?

Oops Sorry Jumped the gun again! i found out how to do it. I was using my jot touch styles which mean you have to hold down the icon on the upper left with the styles then use your fingers to do the pinch and zoom gesture to make it work

Need an iOS utility to move a home-made video to the Photos app/file space

I urgently need to find a way to move a home made video file (.mp4) that was _not_ created on or with an iPhone from being only visible on the iPhone 4S (running (locked) iOS 6.0.1) Videos app to be visible in the Photos app.
I must project these videos via an iPhone Pico projector (Aiptek i50 "sled" model) in a highly mobile way that has zero dependency on a laptop. Aiptek provides a Viewer app that does allow any video storred in the Photos Albums file space to be projected but this Viewer app does not allow me to browse over to the Videos filespace.
This desired utility could run on Mac OS X or Windows 7 - or on the iPhone itself. I just need to leave my office with the ability to project these non-iPhone camera-created video files on the Aiptek projector.

If you can convert it to a compatible format, the app PhotoSync will allow you to wirelessly send it to the camera roll on your phone, so it would be playable in the Photos app (again, if the video was a compatible format).

How can I use Airplay Mirror of Photos app without slideshow?

Every time i try to use airplay mirror and go to the photos app it starts the slideshow feature.
I can't find a way to disable the slide show. I want simply to mirror my photos so I can zoom them and move around.
Did anyone figure out a way to do that?

To use airplay you need an airplay capable device such as Apple TV and an iPhone that is 4s or higher, mine is only 4 so I can't access airplay. Once both the Apple TV and phone or iPad are connected to the same wireless notwork you will be able to mirror your screens.

Can someone explain the difference between photos app and iphoto for iphone?

I recently downloaded the iphoto app to my iPhone 4s. I am hoping to clear up some space on my iphone and I deleted some pics from what I thought was the camera roll within iphoto. I noticed later that while attempting to change my wallpaper, I noticed that pics I thought I deleted were still on the phone as evidenced by their availability to be used as wallpaper. I checked that I had selected cameral roll and not photostream, where it would make sense the photos would still be there. When I left settings I noticed that I have iphoto and the phots app on my iphone. Do I need both? And if i want to delete photos, do I need to delete photos from the cameral roll within iphoto AND the photos app???? I really need someone to make sense of all this photo business!

The "Photos" application is built into the phone and is meant only for viewing and making small edits (crop, auto-enhance, etc.) to photos in your Camera Roll and other photos synced onto your phone via iTunes.
iPhoto for iOS is a new application which is meant to allow you to organize your photos, share them via sideshows or "journals" and make mode substantial edits (contrast, brightness, sharpness, photo effects, etc.)
Keep in mind that iPhoto or any other app from the App Store does not have the ability to delete photos from your Camera Roll. What you did is probably hit the x icon which hides the photo from your iPhoto library but it remains in your Camera Roll. To delete photos, they must be deleted from the Photos app. Oce they are deleted from your Camera Roll they will no longer show up in iPhoto.

Can't send pictures from the Photo app

At least since the last OS update, I can't text or email pictures from the Photo app. I can set it all up, but the pictures never send. Is there a fix for this please?
I have to go into Messaging or Mail and choose the picture from there.
It doesn't work with my iPhone 5 or my Mom's iPhone 4S.

If I send via email from either iPhone or iPad it seems like it has sent but it doesn't. If I send via text message from iPhone it says message failed to send and won't send again no matter how many times I try

Can't add events to 2012 calendar app on iPad 2 iOS 6.0.1

Don't know why but I can't add any event to 2012 year instead creating event to 2013 that works perfectly.

Just checked that turning off and then on Calendar iColud Sync doesn't seem to work either.
I tried this as an old solution for some troubleshooting with Calendar but with no result.
Keeping trying to find a solution.

Can you sort events differently

I have 40,000 pictures in about 800 events.
Some events I like to see in order of their titles, like an event that has 1200 pictures scanned in, where the date is irrelevant. Others I like by date, such as the progress on a car restoration.
Is their any way to have each event sort the way I want it?

You need to contact the seller. If they are the original owner of the phone, they need to remove the device from their iCloud. You cannot get past Activation Lock. Only the original Apple ID and password used to activate the device can be used. If you cannot get the original owner, then return the phone for a refund. It will be useless to you.
This explains Activation Lock to you http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5818 and this http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4515 explains what it is that you have to try and do. Either way, it requires the original Apple ID and password.

Strange Event Organisation in Photo App!

Hey guys,
All of a sudden, out of the blue, my iPhone has completely changed the way it displays my photos in the events tab.
Currently, I have 9 events, all set up in iphoto with all the relevant data attached.
One or two of the events, I have added more photos on different days to the events, but still kept them as one event. Before, my iPhone would list the events in the same way as it does on iPhoto. But now, its chosen to display all the events, sorted into seperate events, as if I hadnt touched them in iphoto. I have multiple events, with the same titles, but only a fraction of the entire event in each entry.
Any ideas?!

The camera should be able to geotag your pictures with a location even without an international plan, yes, Canada or the Caribbean shouldn't matter. (You can prevent geotagging from happening by turning Location Services off for the Camera in Settings, General, Location Services, BTW--you might want to make sure it is still on, just in case)
However, several people are reporting that Places isn't showing all their geotagged pictures.
I'm assuming it's a bug--report it to Apple via AppleCare, Genius Bar, or http://apple.com/feedback
Possibly the 4.1 update will fix it.
