I understand that your iPhone and iPad are both restarting sporadically and displaying the Apple logo. In this situation, I would recommend reading over the attached article and using the information within to continue the troubleshooting process.

Eek! I don't know how I save as a file, so no. As for iCloud , I did back up last week but am not too sure if it was before or after the update. I don't even know know how to find out what was backed up on iCloud. I will look in to that now. Thankyou.

Try to force your phone into recovery mode. Disconnect it from the computer's USB cord. Turn it off if you can by holding the sleep/wake switch until you see the red slide to off. If you can't turn it off, please continue. Press and hold the home button while plugging it into the computer's USB cord. Continue holding the Home button while iPhone starts up. While starting up, you will see the Apple logo. When you see "Connect to iTunes" on the screen, you can release the Home button and iTunes will display the recovery mode message. If the place of purchase does not have a 'Lemon' policy (three replacements = refund or complete exchange), sadly you are out of luck.
And Apple themselves do not have any power over what policy a reseller uses. You can call Apple Care and have them replace it, but the odds are you would probably get a standard replacement again like has previously happened. I'm pretty sure Apple holds their own sort of 'Lemon' polocy where if it's been replaced three times through them they'll swap it out for a brand new phone. Not 100% sure though, best bet is too call them again.
And it ***** getting a response like that from their support personel, but hey, they can't all be that bad can they? I'm sure if you plead your case they'll try and help out. I've dealt with them in the past and had one or two people that rubbed me the wrong way, but most of them have been a great help and kept me a happy customer, haha.

We are all iphone users just like you.
Like all software on all devices/computer/tvs/dvds/cars/etc, the newest updates will not be compatible with older devices.
iphone 3g and earlier models have reached the end of the line.

This screen indicates that the device is in recovery mode, and must be restored in iTunes before it can be used again.
If you can't update or restore your iOS device

Once the device has been restored, you should be able to restore your device from a backup to replace all of your content and settings.

I would like to be able to download updates for my Iphone and Ipad on my work computer but my home computer has all of my music on Itunes. How do i downlaod updates at work without deleting all of the music which is stored on my home computer/Itunes?

I would like to be able to download software updates on my Iphone and Ipad at work without erasing my music. My home computer/Itunes has all of my music saved. is there a way to use two computers w/o erasing information? Or can i transfer the music from my Iphone to my work computer?

- An iPod can only sync with one iTunes library. Yu can however manage music and videos among different computers by:
Using iPhone, iPad, or iPod with multiple computers
- To change syncing computer, move all the media to compute r#2
- Connect the iPod to #2 and make a backup by right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up
- Restore the iPod from that backup
Note tha the iPod backup the iTunes makes does not include synced media like apps and music.

Check icloud.com to be sure you contact list is correct there. If it is, just go to Settings>iCloud on your device and turn Contacts to On to sync the contacts to your device. If contacts are already set to On and you still see duplicates, you may be viewing a duplicate contact group in addition to the iCloud contacts. Open Contacts, tap Groups, then tap any groups other than iCloud to uncheck them, then tap Done. See if the duplicates are still there.

Something in your backup may be corrupt. Try wiping it and setting it up as a new device, then sync your apps, data and media back to it from iTunes. DO NOT resotre from your backup. If the problem is contained in the backup, it will bring it right back again if you restore.

This is what worked:
"In iTunes, I signed out of the store. I exited itunes and restarted it, logged back into the store (with my apple id), then I pulled down the iTunes menu in the menu bar and selected Check for updates.
At this point it said that iTunes 11.1 was available and I'm downloading now " Quoted from a fellow user.
It fixed my problem.
