IOS App Build
Had a quick question, when I did my final build using my distribution profile and certificate, the app wouldn't install on my iPad using the Deployment option to install to connected device. Is this expected behaviour?
Tiniest qualification to what iBrent said: You can use the Ad-Hoc provisioning file with the distribution certificate. That's pretty much identical to the App Store one, but works on the devices you set in the provisioning file. Often I will test with the distribution certificate and provisioning file, then go to the Ad-Hoc provisioning and distribution certificate. When it seems ready to ship I do one last build with the App Store provisioning file.

Issue with web font not appearing in Phonegap iOS app build.
Hi guys,
I have this issue where the webfonts that I have used in Adobe Edge Animate not appearing when i build to a iOS device. I have try various methods of trying to use css to embed the fonts in with font-family and setting class to use the font with but to no avail. Is this due to the javascipt used to define fonts in Adobe Edge Animate that I can't seems to overwrite the fonts used?
Has anyone encounter similar issue? need help to solve this.!Hi, SGIprojects-
Sarah posted a set of instructions here that might help:

Hi There,
I work for a small production company making films for remote communities. At the moment we mainly distribute our media via DVD.
However, we have been asked to distribute an interactive DVD that we have made to iPads.
We will also be requiring the DVD menu as it is an important navigational tool to access different information.
I know that we could achieve it using flash. (except flash doesn't work on iOS devices, and it's painful to use on any system)
I guess what I am asking is if there is a tool that will convert an entire DVD into an App? Or would I have to learn how to compile Apps using developer tools?
I notice that Adobe also have a product that will compile and distribute to multiple mobile operating systems including iOS.
Any ideas or input on a workflow that will work would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers,
BeniOS Dev'ing isn't point/shoot, sorry.
How much work depends on what form your content is in and what level of interactivity is required.
If you just want movies and PDFs on the iPad, you don't need DIY apps...just iTunes and 3rd party tools from the App Store. Keynote is available on iOS if you're doing canned presentations.
Adobe's offering is just for shallow dev work, not end-to-end w/distribution/fullfilment.
With a paid developer account, you can access the large amount of resources in the Dev Center - iTunes/iTunes U has quite a bit and the WWDC 2011 videos came out recently as well.
If your timeline is tight and apps are in order, it might be time to find a qualified developer...don't wait - the good ones are busy -
Unable to test iOS app on iPad with Flash Builder 4.7 OSX Yosemite
After upgrading to OSX Yosemite, i'm unable to test my iOS app on my device.
Compilation and packaging works as expected but app is never installed on my device connected trough USB.
Anyone having the same problem?
ThanksI've found the solution on another post (Re: Run/Debug on a device with Flash Builder 4.7 on OSX 10.9 (Mavericks) and iOS7) having app installation problem on Mavericks.
Disable your device WiFi and install your application from Flash Builder. Then enable your device wifi. It work for me.

Can you build an iOS app on windows with dreamweaver and submit it to the apple store?
Hi
I am interested in starting to develop my own apps for the App Store,
I own a windows computer and I am wondering if its possible to build an app
In dreamweaver and then submit it through phonegap build to the apple store.
Can't seem to find the answer anywhere =(
Thanks,
NicI am interested in starting to develop my own apps for the App Store,
I own a windows computer and I am wondering if its possible to build an app
In dreamweaver and then submit it through phonegap build to the apple store.
I have an app in the App Store that I designed in Photoshop, developed in Dreamweaver CS6, and packaged with Adobe PhoneGap Build. The first three steps - design, development, and packaging I did on a Windows computer. But I used a Mac for my developer certificate and provisioning profile, as well as the finall step of preparing and submitting it to the App Store through Application Loader.
Here is some info: Building for iOS
You'll also need an Apple Developer account, and an Intel-based Mac running Mac OS X Snow Leopard or later to develop and distribute iOS apps. If you're building an app for a client, you'll use their developer account for the submission process.
Here is a little more info: iOS Developer Program -
Getting a "waiting..." or "installing..." message after sideloading an Enterprise signed app onto iOS 7 iPad Mini (among others) using App Builder 3.1.0. The app icon remains "dim" on iPad desktop with one of the two messages. The messages change depending upon sync with iTunes or power-up from a shutdown. Tried assigning v30 and v31 as viewer versions, neither appear to work. The certificate signing appear to work without incident. The appropriate profile appears correctly within the iPad does not show it is expired.
This happens when the mobileprovision file does not include the device ID of the device you are attempting to install onto. You need to recreate the .mobileprovision file and make absolutely sure the device ID for the devices are included.

App made with App Builder V32.1 on iOS 8 doesn't install on iPad
Hi,
I got a problem with an App with subscription made with App Builder V32.1 on iOS 8.
The process was ok, no error message, i download the .ipa and then I upload on my iPad using iTunes. I have synchronized everything and then I saw my App on the device but the icon is darker and there is a text under the icon that report the App is still under installation.
Any idea?Hi Neil,
I appreciate your answer but unfortunately you are wrong, at least for my case :-)
I delete the old mobileprovision files, I made a new App ID and associate with the devices and then I built new mobileprovision files... and it still doesn't work.
After a day spent to try to understand the problem, I solved making a new couple of certificates and then it works.
I don't know why, the "old" certificates are used in other Apps and they are still valid.
This solution works but now I have to verify if is it possible to update the oldest App with a new one made with another certificate. The Apple Developer credentials are the same but there is not documentation about this issue.
Ciao,
Andrea -
Can we put profiles in iOS app? People can just click the button in app to install it without internet. How should we do it?
The reason my app using the actionscript netStream and video classes didn't work was, as mentioned above (thanks), that I was streaming H.264. I changed the stream to VP6 and it worked fine. As I use both encodings, I guess I will have to use stageWebView for the H.264 ones - hopefully it plays live rtmp streams.
I also read somewhere that the reason Adobe do not have h.264 on the ios platform is due to some licensing/copyright issue, so it may not be something we can expect in later updates.
You have to dig deep to get this info - so thanks to those who share the info. Here's an update - the next Air update, Air 3, will have StageVideo for the mobile platform. -
Is it still possible to create a 32-bit only iOS app?
With the latest AIR release (17), is there any way to still create a 32-bit only iOS app for testing on the iPad 1? It's currently not possible to install an app with 64-bit support on an iPad 1 to test the app. My understanding, however, is that Apple will do something on their end that will allow apps submitted to the App Store (with 64-bit support) to still be downloaded and installed on an iPad 1. Having a way to test on the iPad 1 before submission to Apple would be nice.
Is there a compiler switch or something that can be used for this purpose? If not, could such a switch be added easily? If we had such an option, we could continue testing on and supporting the iPad 1. Being in the education market, this is kind of critical to us.
Thanks,
Chris Sheffield
Read Naturally, Inc.
www.readnaturally.comBecause an app built with 64-bit support *cannot* be installed on an iPad 1 device for testing purposes, whether using iTunes or Xcode. It simply doesn't work. This is the message generated by Xcode:
This is when trying to install an app built with Flash Builder 4.7 and AIR sdk 17 beta.
As I stated before, my understanding is that Apple will still allow installing apps on an iPad 1 through the App Store, but *only* through the App Store. In my opinion, this is too late. We really need a way to continue testing on the iPad 1, if at all possible. That's why I'm asking if there's a possibility of adding a compiler switch of some kind that would allow building 32-bit only apps, for testing purposes only.
Thanks. -
Use your own iOS app on your own iOS device without buying a developer program.
This is no question; it is simply a request that you make it possible for people with the free developer program to use their own iOS apps that they built themselves without having to pay $99 a year.
This is because loads of people want to build small apps for themselves, and can do so easily now that Xcode is free on the AppStore. The main problem with this is that they have to pay to simply do this.
So this is in a way a petition for all you people who are the same; who have written your own iOS apps for your personal use only, apps that shall not be distributed and only serve to show what you can do or help a family game to get Apple to make this small thing possible for you (us).
So please post here if you want the same.
Thank you.As always, feel free to use Report a Bug for any samples, doc additions, feature requests or enhancements you'd like to see as well. Add your BR# to this thread for reference, thanks.
But I wouldn't hold my breath on this one....it would only result in immediate scams. -
Error while debugging AIR for IOS app
I get the following error when attempting to debug my AIR-IOS app on an IPad 2.
The weird thing is that the logfile mentioned does not exist.
Any ideas?

The wierd is that the log file doesn't exists.
Anyway I try everything... to reinstal my Flash Builder, reinstall all versions of java. I even try to make Xmx and Xms bigger size.. but nothing... still got the error.
If I create new project... then everything works fine... Export Release Build work very well,
but if I try to Export Release Build for my large project... then this error comes up.
I look at my code and no find any errors...
Build for android works as well, the error comes up when I try to build for iOS.
Please Adobe - give us help how to fix this.
Thank you -
IPhone app build fails in Dreamweaver CS5.5
Working through a Lynda.com tutorial on developing Phonegap iOS apps, I continually receive the following error:
"The buid of "testapp" failed to complete successfully. Please consult the build log at .... for additional details."
I also receive this message when I attempt to build a basic app using the "Mobile Starters" JQuery Mobile (PhoneGap) sample.
Is there something basic in the setup that I could be missing that causes this error?
I don't know what to look for in the build log so I'm pasting the log below:

I have tried london1a1's workaround, and it has not made any difference.
It seems that london1a1 suggests changing the Camera.h file in this location:
Users/london1a1/Documents/DW_NAF/PhoneGapLib/PhoneGapLib/Classes/Camera.h
Whereas you're saying to change the Camera.h file in this location:
/Applications/Adobe Dreamweaver CS5.5/Configuration/NativeAppFramework/DWPhoneGap/iphone/PhoneGapLib/Classes/Camera.h
I've tried changing the Camera.h file in both locations. Neither has made a difference. -
How do I localize Flash CS5.5 iOS app to one language
What method or process do I use to set an iOS app to only one language?
I recently had an iPad app written in Flash CS5.5 approved at the iTunes app store. I noticed at the iTunes store, it indicates that my app is localized in 14 different languages. I never set this up; it seems that there is a process that automatically adds several default language localizations to the ipa binary when the file is published. I tried the strings panel, used a var to set the localID, went into the SDK for flex and flash builder and deleted the locales (could not find anything similar for Flash itself), but none of this seems to prevent Flash from adding the language defaults. I have found many examples on how to localize my app for several languages, but nothing on how to set it to only one.
Thanks much, JonWell, I followed the iOS language list in iTunes thread in this forum and was able to get rid of them all. I have to say that not any single reply in the thread was exactly right. It took a combination of Saumitra Bhave's and spinlight's replies and mass of trial and error to get it all to work. Even the App loader utility came up as obsolete! I have uploaded the updated binary to Apple and am awaiting their approval. The biggest issue is the placement of and actual coding in the entitlements plist; spinlight had the right idea, but, at least in my case, was coded out a bit different. Also, it was not exactly apparent that you had to use the teminal untility to recodesign the app after tearing it apart. Thank the heavens I have a least a basic understanding of how things work on the Mac and was able to puzzle it out. If Apple approves the app and all things look good, I will follow up here with what I did. Of course, if Adobe would kill this bug with a giant can of bug spray, this crazy work around wouldn't be needed...
Thanks much, Jon -
AIR iOS app fails uploading to Apple (iTunes Connect)
I've been trying to upload my iOS app to iTunes Connect via Application Loader but it fails every single time. I'm getting the following error(s);
'Unable to run the lipo command: ... Can't map input file ...' and 'Application failed codesign verification'
I believe the second error is due to the first, but I'm not sure. I've been looking around the web for solutions and only found this thread on here, I've tried everything said there but nothing helps.
Replacing my game with an empty FLA doesn't seem to work either.I'm on the latter side, usually it's a codesigning issue. How did you develop your certs and did you follow the order specifically in my list in that post? Often people use old certs but create a new app ID and expect the old certs to work.
There's been other discussions about extra "files" that Flash Pro inserts into IPAs (.zips in disguise). Because Flash Pro publishes to a folder that's not built specifically for that build, people sometimes copy extra files into that path. Those files can "automatically" and accidentally be added to the IPA without the author desiring that. You should check what files are being packaged with your IPA to verify there's no extra junk.
Are you using flash CS5.5 or CS6 and what version of AIR are you overlayed to? -
"no access to the digital certificate" - Trying to export my first iOS app from Flash - Help please
Hello
I'm trying to export my first iOS app from flash to my desktop / on the device (Flash Pro CC, Iphone5)
I followed the instructions on the adobe website to build an air app for iOS but on the last step it
doesn't export the app.
What I've done so far:
- Apple developer account
- creating the certificate + convert it to .p12
- app ID / Name etc.
- creating the provisioning profile from apple
- iOS Air app in flash (Only Text "Hello world" with a tween)
Now i have to load the certificates into Flash & enter a password (is it the password that
i entered in the certificate or from my developer account/ Apple ID password? Both didn't work at the end)
When i klick on publish in the last step than it loads a while but then i get the Error:
"no access to the digital certificate"
What is wrong? Can you help me please. Also, I should say, when I go into my phone on the computer and try to install an app, I get this message:
Unable to start operation. Installer is already in use.
Any ideas
