IOS crash logs?
Where are the mobile device crash logs on Yosemite? They used to be here:
~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/MobileDevice
Thanks.
If you believe you've found a bug, you can report it to Apple via their feedback page:
http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipodtouch.html
Or if you are an Apple developer or are willing to sign up as one (there's a free level) you can use the bug reporter which will guide you on what additional information to submit. If you have only iOS 6.0 and haven't updated to iOS 6.0.1 yet, I'd suggest doing so before reporting what you believe to be a bug, since the problem may have been fixed.
Alternatively, you can post details of the problem - please do not post crash logs unless requested - and someone here may be able to offer suggestions for correcting the problem.
Regards.

I am running safari 7.0.6 with IOS 10.9.4. after the mac has been asleep and I log on I cannot open safari as it appears to have crashed. the workaround to this is to reboot the IOS and log back in after which safari will open. Any ideas on how to resolve this?
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Step 1
For this step, the title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
In the top right corner of the Console window, there's a search box labeled Filter. Initially the words "String Matching" are shown in that box. Enter the name of the crashed application or process. For example, if iTunes crashed, you would enter "iTunes" (without the quotes.)
Each message in the log begins with the date and time when it was entered. Select the messages from the time of the last crash, if any. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
☞ The log contains a vast amount of information, almost all of which is irrelevant to solving any particular problem. When posting a log extract, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.
Please don't indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Please don't post screenshots of log messages—post the text.
☞ Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
Step 2
In the Console window, select
DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION ▹ User Diagnostic Reports
(not Diagnostic and Usage Messages) from the log list on the left. There is a disclosure triangle to the left of the list item. If the triangle is pointing to the right, click it so that it points down. You'll see a list of crash reports. The name of each report starts with the name of the process, and ends with ".crash". Select the most recent report related to the process in question. The contents of the report will appear on the right. Use copy and paste to post the entire contents—the text, not a screenshot.
I know the report is long, maybe several hundred lines. Please post all of it anyway.
If you don't see any reports listed, but you know there was a crash, you may have chosen Diagnostic and Usage Messages from the log list. Choose DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION instead.
In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.)
Please don’t post other kinds of diagnostic report—they're very long and rarely helpful. -

Hi everyone,
I have a bad issue with the latest versions of AIR in my last app.
I use AIR for develop this application. It's still finish for the most part of it.
It's a simple application. I used the AIR 13.0 SDK during development.
I didn't have any problem during all this time.
Tests on iOS causes the app crash at the first second of execution.
The compilation with SDK : 4.0, 13.0, 14.0 causes the same problem.
The crash log errors:
Exception Type: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGSEGV)
Exception Subtype: KERN_INVALID_ADDRESS at 0x0000003c
Triggered by Thread: 0
Libraries used :
- MVCExpress
- Starling
- LoaderMax
- TweenMax
I tried to use an older version for test if It was due to the app...
With compiling with AIR 3.9 SDK, the app works well on iOS.
Everything looks okay.
The crash happens during a simple Vector<> creation.
And when tracing the System.freeMemory it seems to have very very low memory
(compared to compilation with 3.9)
But unfortunately, today, Apple didn't accept all apps compiled with old AIR version.
and after uploading, Application Loader send an error :
New apps and app updates submitted to the App Store must be built with the latest version of Xcode 5 from Feb1
So, I can't submit a stable version for App Store Validation even I may have a running app
Can someone could help me in generating a working ipa file for send this app ?HI,
CFRetain
That could be related to the Flash plugin.
Uninstall then reinstall the Flash Player plugin then repair disk permissions.
Uninstall Flash
Install the most recent version of Flash here.
Repair disk permissions...
Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac. If you see a long list of "messages" in the permissions window, it's ok. That can be ignored. As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done. Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac.

Anything useful in this crash log?
Greetings fellow developers,
My app was rejected by Apple for crashing at launch (!?), something we have NEVER seen on any combination of devices or OSes. Our excellent QA team has never seen this, and even now we are unable to reproduce this crash with the exact device/os combo Apple tested with.
We received crash logs, but they contain no backtrace so I wonder if anything can even be done with them?
If anyone can take a peek at this log, I'd be much appreciative. Or if you have an idea what could possibly be different between Apple's test rig and our multitude of testing devices, that would be extremely helpful.
Thanks guys!

IOS crash report - mediaserverd: RPCTimeout message received to terminate
I see some strange crash reports which I couldn't understand much what it is. I believe it is something related to audio service in iOS. I am working on a audio app where each record is played in FIFO order. Is the crash log is something to do with my app? Here is the snippet of the crash report

Thanks,
ShashankI just had the same "scam" this evening. I got the Safari message: "http://supportcallnow.com 'warning!! iOS Crash Report' " Due to a third party application in your phone, iOS crashed. Contact Support for an immediate fix - 1-800-480-4170. I too called the phone # to see what was going on. It went straight on hold when I called (didn't ring) and then when someone came on the line, it was a woman who I could barely hear due to the noise in the background. She stated that my ios crashed and was no longer something on my iPhone5S and that a 3rd party was at that time taking all my info. off my phone (nice "scare tactic" eh?). She then said for $80 though she could reinstall ios and just needed my credit card # (yeah, ooooookkkay). So I said that was ridiculous as I had been using apps and my phone the whole time I was talking to her on speaker and said I would call Apple Support directly. She told me they would say the same thing about having to pay to have ios reinstalled on my phone. I said I highly doubt it and told her I wouldn't pay the money and that she was essentially full of crap. She then said (prob after realizing I wasn't buying any of it) "OK ma'am" and hung up on me.
Adamfrombessemer's advice works if you're surfing sites and get a "ios Crash Report" message in Safari on your iPhone like I did!
1. Place the phone in Airplane mode.
2. Go to Settings > Safari > And Clear History and website Data
3. Reopen safari and all will be gone. Turn off Airplane mode.
Definite scam! -
Export Release Build for iOS crash
Hello,
From time to time I'm having a problem with building IPA for iOS from Flash Builder.
"From time to time..." here means that I can't find what code makes FB to crash, sometimes it started working again, sometimes it works without any changes but after machine restart, but after some time it stops working again.
Once we have fixed the crash by updaing AIR SDK (3.1 -> 3.4), but after approximately 2 month it stopped working.
Again, update of AIR SDK (3.4 -> 3.5) worked for about 2 weeks, but then failed.
Note that after the crash window popped, there is no crash log on the disk (folder stated in a message is removed immediately).
Any ideas what causes a crash? Is there any solution?
Thanks,
Ivan
Here is my machine config:
* Win 7-8 Pro
* Flash Builder 4.6
* AIR SDK 3.1-3.5
* Mobile application for iOS (~2.5 MB of source code)
* Native extension (Adobe's NetworkInfo from samples)

ISR 4451-X reloading without crash logs
Hi All,
I have recently had multiple reloads on two of our routers (ISR 4451-X) installed at different sites.
I can't find any crash logs after this sudden reload. It could be a crash of the Kernel which I believe do not produce any logs.
Has anyone encountered a similar crash on any of the IOS-XE platforms?
Cheers
AshilI recently experienced an unexplained reload on an ISR 4451-X. Anyone have any clues?

This has been happening for a few months now. Sometimes it happens multiple times a day, sometimes a week or so can go by without a crash. I've experienced 3 carashes in the past 3 days now. My guess, I don't really know how to read the logs below, is that there's a GPU issue.
panic(cpu 1 caller 0xffffff7f937f1fb0): "GPU Panic: [<None>] 5 3 7f 0 0 0 0 3 : NVRM[0/1:0:0]: Read Error 0x00000100: CFG 0xffffffff 0xffffffff 0xffffffff, BAR0 0xd2000000 0xffffff812608d000 0x0a5480a2, D0, P2/4\n"@/SourceCache/AppleGraphicsControl/AppleGraphicsControl-3.4.35/src/Apple MuxControl/kext/GPUPanic.cpp:127

com.apple.kec.corecrypto 1.0You have the mid-2010 problem. There's an issue with the graphics module on that machine. There was a program in place to replace the motherboard within 3 years of purchase, but you're probably outside of that. Some folks have supposedly gotten theirs changed outside of that period, so you can try.
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4088?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
What you can do to use it is download gfxcardstatus from http:gfx.io and force the graphics to Intel. That will lessen the panics at the expense of graphics speed.
You may be eligible for a depot repair, which is a flat rate of about $310. Ask at the Genius Bar. Take along a printout of your panic.
This was just posted this week. You might want to check it out. I can't vouch for it, but it may be a way to solve the problem. Please post back if you try this and it works.

Your Question:
Ever since my firefox was updated to be more compatible with Yahoo I have a terrible problem with ytdump-200.6.1.1-1377716466. It is a, "Yahoo crash log dump", that fills up all the free space on my C: drive drive, no matter when and how many times I erase it, and no matter what I remove from the C: drive. What was involved in making Firefox more compatible with Yahoo? Assuming that the "yt" part stands for Yahoo Toolbar, you could disable that temporarily to see whether that resolves the issue.
Try here:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons > Extensions category
Disable the Yahoo toolbar(s) and if a link appears to restart Firefox, click that as the last step.
Note: if you have any unsubmitted forms you are working on, it's probably best to finish your work before restarting Firefox. -
RH8 Crash Log - Does it exist?
RH 8 HTML
Hi all,
Just wondering if there is a crash log somewhere generated for RH?
I've had a random instant crash 3 times in the last 5 minutes, from one project, but I cant isolate or recreate what is causing the crash.
Hoping theres a log file somewhere that can pin point something for me. I get no error, just complete exit of the program without warning. Nothing fancy happening in my topic, standard styles applied, not images, no swf files nothing. Just text, tables and Cond build tags.
Thanks,
NickNothing that will help, to the best of my knowledge. Is it always the same topic / project?
Have you tried renaming the CPD, after taking a backup?

Troubleshooting Mail using the Mail.crash.log file and TN2123 CrashReporter
This morning, for apparently no reason at all, Mail began to consistently crash each time I attempted to send or reply to a message. By observing what occured in mail, opening the crash log [mail.crash.log] located here…
Macintosh HD:Users:<username>:Library:Logs:CrashReporter
…and parsing the information with the help of the Apple Developer Technical Note linked below, I was able to quickly determine that my last action just prior to sending the message—appending a signature to it—resulted in the application crashing. Simply by deleting the existing signature and recreating it, I was able to resolve the problem in only a matter of minutes.
This demonstrates how useful crash logs can be, and why they should likely be the very first place you look for an indication of trouble when an application unexpectely quits.
Here is a very short, relevent section of my Mail crash log which you can examine using the instructions linked below:
Host Name: Michael-Lafferty

This is the most significant section of a very long, multi-threaded log, because it shows the detail of the thread which crashed, the actual step at which it crashed, and the particular crash type: in this case, a EXCBADACCESS (0x0001) - KERNPROTECTIONFAILURE, indicating an attempt to write to a read-only memory location.
