IOS keeps closing background apps very quickly (iPad2)

Hello!
You view article in Flipboard, click on share to Pocket, view the Pocket and email the article from there. When you are back to Flipboard, it's already closed and restarts.
You want to copy data between tabs in Safari. It is nearly certain that if the tabs contain complex web pages, Safari will forget them to save memory once you switch even once. The web pages are sometimes quite simple ones, too. One particular example are bank pages, which are not so complex. And as for the example copying, you might want to copy the destination account number into such page, when you make a transfer.
How to gain certainity, that:
- 3 tabs in Safari will close after no less than 10 minutes,
- 3 recent apps will close after no less than 10 minutes?
On iOS 4, the problem appeared when # of tabs was ~6. Now it's much quicker. I cannot recall how it was about closing applications.
On iOS 6, the applications were closing quickly too. I think iOS 5 was better at this.

  • My iPod Touch keeps closing every app I go on

Every app I go on keeps closing before it loads properly, even Safari, sometimes if i'm lucky it won't happen but othertimes I can't go on anything. I've seen a simular question where they were told to hold the sleep/wake button and the home button for ten seccons till the apple logo comes up but my iPod home button doesn't work anymore, I use the Assistive Touch for the home button but when I hold both nothing happens, I dont know if it's because it's not the actual home button.
Is there anything else I can do to get my iPod working again?

iBooks is not downloading purchases properly, the app keeps closing while I'm reading, every 5 minutes or less, and it's constantly "busy"...where the "Edit" icon is, the little circle keeps going around and around... sorry that I'm not really literate here... • My iPod keeps closing my apps and iTunes is frozen

When I try to load apps on my iPod they will open for a few seconds and then shut themselves down - including when I attempt to listen to music. A message had popped up a few times on my iPod about how I could download iOS 6 (I have an iPod touch 4th generation, by the way) and so I thought it would help to stop doing this and speed it up a bit.
I loaded iTunes up on my PC and it said to download iOS I had to update my iTunes, so that's what I did. Once it had completed I then plugged my iPod back in and it kept popping up with a message on iTunes saying that it did not recognise my iPod and to disconnect and try again which, of course, I have been trying. Then iTunes just froze and I can literally do nothing on it, not even cross it off. I have restarted my computer, tried to reset my iPod (the home button isn't working and it won't let me do it with the manual thing) and I'm getting desperate now. I don't really want to reset anything because I do not want to lose my apps and music if I cannot sync it back to iTunes.

    Try:
Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
    or
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
    If necessary:
Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates
    - New cable and different USB port
    - Try on another computer to help determine if computer or iPod problem
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If you have iOS 5 then backup to iCloud since you may have to restore the iPod.

  • IPad keeps closing apps

I have an iPad mini and recently it's been acting up on me.
It keeps closing the apps I'm trying to open, as if they're crashing. I've tried to delete the apps, reinstall them, restart the iPad, "shock-start" it and resetting it and nothing works.
Especially the Facebook app keeps closing and the few times I actually get in, the picture keeps freezing and the whole thing just locks for a few seconds.
I don't know what else to do. I'm not sure if it's a problem with my apps (it's not every app that closes, but most of them) or if it's something with the iPad.
If anyone has any suggestion, I would be forever grateful!

    Hi there NinusenS,
At this point, I would recommend backing up all of your data, restore the device with iTunes, and set it up as a new device. After erasing and setting up as a new device, your device is now in a factory configuration. Test to determine if erasing and setting up as a new device resolved the issue. Content on the device may have caused unexpected behavior.
If the issue is still present, you may want to contact Apple Support.
If the issue is now resolved, sync one type of content at a time back to the device. For example, if you had an issue playing music, add songs from iTunes and confirm they will play. If your contacts weren't loading successfully, add the contacts back. After each sync, test to see if the issue has returned.
Take a look at the article below for more information on how to back up and restore your data.

  • IOS 7 does not seem to allow quitting background apps

The previous IOS allowed quitting background apps by double clicking the button then holding on an app icon until the X allowed you to quit them. Now how is it done??

You still double-click the home button to open the multitasking bar, but you now drag or swipe the app 'screens' from there up and off the top of the screen :

  • My iPhone 5 battery has recently been draining very quickly. Also shuts down at random times.

Has this been happening to anyone else? I use my phone just as much as anyone else, and l'll admit sometimes it's a little more but this only recently started happening. Around the same time my battery started draining all the time my phone would also shut down out of now where. It usually happens around 30 percent. I use my phone to text, go on Instagram, and tumblr. Occasionally I'll play a game or watch a video or do some web browsing but never an excessive amount. This started happening out of no where. I've had my phone for about a year now and this has only recently become a problem. Before it would be good from 5am to about 6pm before hitting the less than 30 percent mark. But now I can't make it to 3 hours without losing almost half of it. I've already drained it to zero then charged it but that was a temporary fix. I'm looking for a permanent solution. I've also done a lot of the power saving tips like closing background apps, turned off location services, turned off auto updates, parallax, I don't use the moving backgrounds, background app refresh is off. Yet the battery still goes fast. I charged it to 100 without using while it was charging, then I was using it just to check if it was fixed but it wasn't. It went from 93 to 83 percent in less than a minute and I wasn't even using it. Like I also said before it also shuts down out of nowhere. Any help or advice is appreciated.
Ps; sorry for the wall of text, I just wanted to give as much info as possible.

What exactly do you mean by "crashing" and is it occuring on a specific app or under specific circumstances?

  • Apps keep closing on iOS 7

Ever since updating to iOS 7 on my 4s I've found my apps close constantly. I've tried closing the apps manually, I've tried deleting and reinstalling them but it made no difference. It's also happening with my camera and I can't take a photo without it closing on me several times. My phone is becoming almost unusable because everything constantly closes on me!

    Try this:
Quit all apps & reset: Hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons and don’t let go until the screen goes dark and the Apple logo appears (no data will be lost)

  • Since iOS 7update my IPAD battery Is discharging very quickly what should i do

Since iOS 7update my IPAD battery Is discharging very quickly what should i do.  This problem only occured since last iOS 7.0.2 update

Poke around the settings. There's a lot of notifications turned on that you may not need. There's also the backgroun app refresh that will be using battery and the background updating of apps.
So turn stuff off, if it doesn't help another thing that you can try is to go into the settings and reset all settings. Which is a bit of a pain because you'll need to retweak everything, but sometimes starting fresh can clear glitches

  • My apps on my iPod 4th generation keep closing out on me, why does it do that, and how can I stop it?

My apps on my iPod 4th generation keep closing out on me, why does it do that, and how can I stop it?

The above comment is not helpful to me, and I'm also guessing many people, but who knows. I've seen the same recommendation in many, many threads on this same topic, but only once have I seen that the resolution solved the problem for anyone, unless those people didn't follow up. Anyway,I found the below comment which made sense and may be the source of the issue. Too many apps running in the background - turn them off or simply do a hard reset to kill them all at once.

Apparently, ios closes apps it can't (or thinks it can't) run because of too few RAM available. Double-press the home button and close any still running apps in the background. There are apps that serve to clear up some of your RAM. You will need to do this every once in a while, though.
Clearing disk space will also help - remove any files you don't need/use and try to keep a clean disc in overall.

    You cannot.
iphone 3g can only go to 4.2.1
The iphone 3g was released 5 years ago.  This is very old in tech terms.

  • Background app crash continues in ios 8

ITs a shame apple didnt fix this in the enire year ios 7 was the latest. And its a disgrace for apple that it continues in ios 8!
my apps seem to continously crash in background and refresh each time i open them. Working efficiently with forms in safari is a distant memory. This is a case in both my ipad mini and iphone 5.
ANybody else experiencing this? Anybody knows a fix other than smashing an expensive useless toy on the floor?
    Neerav.

Just so you know I did uninstall and reinstall LINE and this did stop the app from crashsing. HOWEVER, users should be aware that doing this means all your history, chats, and users you added outside of your phone book will be deleted. So you should keep this in mind if having all your historical stuff is important. I think the biggest bad problem is that users you added manually will all be wipped out from your profile and you have to go back and re-add them again. Not a big deal if you only have a couple to re-add, but a problematic if you have 100's of users missing and have to re-add them.
