IPad 2 Anti-glare?

I went to the apple store one day asking about anti-glare screen protectors. As I'm already aware apple doesn't sell any screen protectors for iPad or iPad 2. But one of the employees told me that the anti-glare ones are very useful but I would have to do some research to find out which one would work best. I need suggestions and I will disregard anything that has to do with zagg or invisible shield. And anyone who has a used a great shield protector please tell me how they work.

Hello T33zac,
I'm not an optics specialist so I will not
try to explain how AG/Ar coatings enhance
screen protectors nor the original enhanced
IPad2 screen. Screen protectors help prevent
micro scratches when you clean the screen with a micro
fiber cloth. Any debris harder than the glass will
scratch it. Better to scratch a protective cover.
To the last part of your question on how it works:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti-reflective_coating
To the first part, IMHO, iVisor AG by Moshi.
No bubbles, removable, washable and reusable.

I also use an OtterBox defender series but maybe I'm just
over protective.
As the Apple Store folks said do your research for what you
will use your iPad for.
Kind Regards,
A

  • Is there a genuine IPad anti glare screen to reduce the reflection/mirror effect when using outdoors?

The reflection in the IPad 4th generation retina screen when using outdoors or in bright light is very distracting. You look at yourself! Especially if using the pad on your knees.
I have fitted the excellent Moshi clear protection screen, but this does not reduce the reflection. Amazon sell an anti glare screen for the IPad 2. Anyone found one that really works, or is this something we must put up with.

Linehill again.  It seems that many users find the same problem, but no one has the answer! I have been experimenting with some ideas and have found wearing a black or very dark shirt makes a huge improvement if you are sitting down and hold the IPad on your thighs. Try it!

I do a lot of reading on my ipad, especially at night and I notice it has been affecting my eyes and I am experiencing eyestrain, I purchased some gunnar computer glasses to help deflect the screen glare but so far no cigar.  Any suggestions on a good anti glare screen that I can use ?

  • Anti-***Reflective***, not Anti-Glare, iPhone/iPad Screen Protector?

Short version:  Does anybody know of a true anti-reflective screen-protector sheet for iPhone 4S or for iPad?
    More detail:
Way back on my old iPhone 3G, I had an anti-reflective screen protector sheet.  It worked really really great in direct-sunlight environments!  The only downside was that it did show up fingerprints, but they didn't show up much when the screen was on, and they were easy to clean off.
When it finally wore out, I bought somebody else's screen protector that they called anti-reflective, but it was actually just anti-glare.  **Anti-glare** is that frosty finish that does not actually dim reflections, but instead makes them fuzzy.  In fact, it makes the image on the screen a bit fuzzy too, which is why I don't like them.  **Anti-reflective** is like a camera lens, or most glasses, where it reflects images still completely focused (and doesn't fuzz up the screen image either), but reflects it at a much dimmer intensity, often with a greenish hue.
Best I can tell, no such product exists anymore, for iPhone or for iPad.  Do any of you know of such a thing?

I did spend some time searching, but could not find any similar discussion in this forum.
That is because this is NOT a discussion forum.
It is hosted by Apple for asking technical support questions
Suggest you read the terms on use of this forum for future reference
and read carefully the link provided above by Pogster
You are lucky Apple actually fixed it for you considering the terms for returning for repair were not followed

  • Removeable Anti-Glare screen for new iPad?

To clarify, I am looking for something that is meant to be taken off and on. For those infrequent ocassions when I'm outside or in a very high light environment and want to read.  I do not want something that applies like a screen protector. I already have a clear screen protector.  What I have in mind would be a snapon plastic overlay that can be removed and stored in a briefcase.  I've seen some that stick on the border, but they have to be washed before reuse, whereas I'd rather go outside, pull the anti-glare overlay out of my briefcase or backpack, use a spritz of screen cleaner and a cloth, and snap it on.
I realize a rigid plastic overlay would affect touch responsiveness significantly, but as long as I could turn a page in iBooks, I'd be alright.  Basically, I'm trying to make my Kindle obsolete.
Does such a thing exist on the market?

Have you looked at the Moshi Screen Protector?
Its removable, can be washed, no-bubbles, and it doesn't have any glare at all. Its got a matte-finish.
I love the concept of this screen protector, but I found the screen to be a bit fuzzy. Definently worth trying out though.

  • Anti glare/scratch screen protector Ipad Mini 2 - Not compromising clarity

I'm looking for an anti glare/anti-scratch screen protector for the ipad mini 2 retina. I know Zagg has an awesome one however the clarity is greatly compromised at only 86% clarity. Is there a screen protector that has great clarity along with anti scratch and anti glare, or at the very least minimized the glare from outside or inside lighting.

Hi. I'm in the market for one too. I've always used power support and they're very good albeit expensive at £30 a pop. I've looked at the Zagg but there have been some not so great reviews. So my advice is go power support, the HD anti glare one is very good but if you don't want to dull the display and it does make a difference then go for the crystal clear. Hope that helps

  • Best anti glare screen protector iPad mini?

Looking for the best anti glare screen protector for iPad mini

Zagg is super expensive and I've never liked the orange peel effect they have. I think the best anti glare screen protector is the Tech Armor Screen Protector. It has a matte fingerprint free surface and costs less than $8.

  • Anyone using the Zagg iPad 2 Anti-Glare Screen?

If you're using this, or have tried it, thoughts? Feedback? I have had the clear on my devices in the past but am curious about this "anti" glare shield. I read elsewhere that it somewhat pixelates the screen?

I would recommend against it. I tried the "new" anti-glare material on my iPhone. Really didn't like it. It did pixelate the display and I felt it also slightly dimmed it or perhaps reduced contrast - I found myself turning brightness up a bit. I assume it would be the same effect on the iPad.
My hobby is photography and I was reminded of a "grainy" long exposure film image. The retina display is just too sharp and pretty to degrade with this product in my opinion.
I removed it from my iPhonerand installed a "regular" InvisibleShield and am much happier. Just put one on my new iPad, too.

  • Anti glare ipad screen?

Ok, maybe it's just me.  But I bought a Screen guard with all the silly instructions about placing the sticky side and how to remove bubble etc.,
Am I wrong or right here - I have now taken off the annoyins sticky film effort and replaced it with the hard backed piece it was stuck on.
I've just slotted this hard 'screen' into my ipad case, in front of my ipad screen and it works incerdibly well.  Obviously there are no bubbles, because
it's not made of 'sticky back plastic'.  It's not stuck to my ipad, it's just placed on it.
Is that what I was supposed to do??  If not - hey! I've discovered an anti-glare screen that doesn't bubble and works 100 times better than the sticky bit!

Got it online. Called 'Professionsl Screen Guard'.
Rightly on wrongly the hard see through piece works great. Although you would have to have an ipad cover to slip it into.  Which makes me think that this was not as per instructions!

  • Ipad 3 anti glare screen protector

I suffer from headaches from my new Ipad 3.
I also suffered with them on my Ipad 1 but used a Media Devil anti glare screen protector and the problem was solved.
I have tried the Media Devil on the Ipad 3 but it does not work very well as the resolution of the Retina screen is increased.
This causes the screen to pixalate.
Can anybody recommend an Anti Glare screen protector that works with the Ipad 3 Retina screen.
I have seen the Mosi AG advertised on line has anybody tried this on the ipad 3 ?
Does it pixalate the screen ?

  • Anti glare screen protector ipad mini retina

I've been researching 3 screen protectors: Moshi ivisor AG, Zagg smudge proof, and bodyguardz hd anti glare. Of the 3 which provides the best clarity without sacrificing much degradation in color. Also what is this business about matte finish, i've seen that zagg does not have matte finish but not sure if its true. Lastly is it truly worth getting anti glare and sacrificing the clarity and quality of the pixelation?

Zagg is super expensive and I've never liked the orange peel effect they have. I think the best anti glare screen protector is the Tech Armor Screen Protector. It has a matte fingerprint free surface and costs less than $8.

  • Is there any way to get a glass cover for my high res anti glare display?

This may sound silly but I wasn't expecting the high res anti glare macbook pro to not have a glass cover over it. to many this might not be an issue, but I need to be able to use a digital drawing pen over top the surface of my monitor. My previous macbook was the first of the unibodies from 2008 and that works fine. But I guess I should have gone with the hi res glossy. So are there any solid screen protectors available or am I going to have to see about returning this computer. :|

Why don't you instead just use a piece of rounded edge glass in the rare times when your doing that?
Your one of the very few that has to actually draw on their screen, most use a drawing pad Walcom tablet, iPad or import a scan or image into Adobe Illustrator rather than hold their hand up to the screen for hours.
Don't you know you can command shift 3 or 4 to snapshot a image of anything on the screen? SnapZ Pro X will record video?
Seems to me your doing things the wrong way.
The anti-glare MacBook Pro is awesome when you take it to various places and can still see the screen and can't adust the enviroment to suit.

  • Is there any store that sell MBP with anti-glare display?

  • High Res/ Anti-glare display vs. New Retina

I bought (via Apple Hong Kong) my beefed-up 15" MPB with the High Resolution/ Anti Glare display last November and the quailty is outstanding.
Considering the display quality only has anyone compared the two side by side? If so, I would be curious to hear your opinions and thoughts.
    Regards,
P.s I should also mention that I am an American living and working in Sai Gon (aka Ho Chi Minh City) Vietnam and although Apple products do make it here the lag time is several months, hence the inabiltiy to see for myself.
