IPad 3 isn't charging

My iPad 3 isn't charging. I have switched out cords and and plugs, I turned it of and on again. I charged it yesterday morning but last night it wouldn't charge. Any ideas?

There are not too many things that prevent an iPad from charging. First make sure you are using the charger that came with the iPad and have that plugged into a known good wall outlet.
1. Bad cable. Try a different cable.
2. Bad charger. Try a different charger.
3. Dirt, lint or fuzz in the connection ports. Check and carefully clean with a toothpick if crud is found.
4. Software failure. First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.
5. Hardware failure. Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.

Ipad isn't charging or syncing

I cannot sync or charge my ipad2. It does not register on itunes when plugged in and it does not show that it is charging when plugged into a charger. This started a few weeks after the home button stopped working. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

If the home button stopped working, that is a hardware problem. If no longer charging when connected to the iPad power adaptor included with the purchase, that is likely a hardware problem as well - unless the power adaptor or the USB dock connector cable has a problem.
Make an appointment at an Apple store if there is one nearby.

For some reason my ipad doesn't charge while connected to any of my computers. It isn't the cord because it charges through the wall by itself as well as on my keyboard dock. Any ideas?

IPad isn't recognised by computer and no longer charges

I can't update to ios5 as my ipad2 isn't recognised by the computer when I plug it in to USB port. I've tried to charge the iPad but the iPad states "not charging". It only trickle charges now. Tried re-installing iTunes, using different USB ports and connectors as well as carols different plug sockets. Very grateful for any suggestions as I'm baffled! Thanks

You could try testing with another program like Image Capture found in the Applications folder.
If that program also does not show the camera then try a different USB port on the computer.
If you have a memory card reader you could try that as well.
If the issue still persists then checking your camera's settings in keeping with TD's advice would be a good idea. It may be in the wrong mode.

Are you using the wall charger? Connecting to the USB port on your computer gets the Not Charging message.

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
Since you did not say how long the battery lasts I am nut sure the battery is the problem.

Have you tried to reset it? Hold down the sleep and home buttons for about 20 seconds. If you see the silver apple it's rebooting. Let it finish then try again.
Beyond that how are you trying to charge it? The iPad is best charged plugged into the supplied power block plugged into the wall. If you're trying to charge via computer then it usualy doesn't work well since most USB ports don't put out enough power.
