Ipad locked since battery drained..... help!

Hi
I'd really appreciate any help...
My Ipad ran out of battery completely. First time thats happened since I've had it as I usually keep it more topped up. Anyway, I've re-charged it, and the screen has been displaying the itunes icon and usb wire image that says you need to sync with itunes.
I've just done this, but in itunes it says it can't do anything because the ipad is locked with a password (i do have a password set on the ipad so this is no surprise) But, I can't bypass the itunes sync screen on my ipad to enter the password.
I've tried turning it off, doing a full re-boot etc but nothing is working. Has anyone else had this problem? or do you know what I need to do?
Thanks in advance!

  • IPad locked for good. Help?

I forgot my passcode on iPad, and typed the wrong passcode so many times, that it got locked and it says ''iPad is out of use. Connect to iTunes'' and it won't let me go anywhere from there, and i can't find help to it anywhere. Can i somehow fully reset the iPad, so it's as new?

You have no choice but to use iTunes on a computer, there is no other way to set it up as new.
You want to use the same computer that you always sync with so that you can restore your app data and settings. You can restore with any other computer, but you will lose everything on the iPad.
    Instructions can be found here.

You will probably need to restore using Recovery Mode. You can read about it here.

  • My iPad is unusually battery drained after unplugged

    Hi
After my a week old iPad mini retina, doing every day overnight charges. And I noticed today the battery dropped to 99 percents after unplugged for 3 mins and dropped to 98 in 15 mins.
    http://puu.sh/742w5.jpg heres my proof.
Anyways I've already do a cycle charge (lets the ipad battery run down and charge to 100%) at when My first day  when I got an iPad.
However I was got random restart (well, just like most iOS 7 users here) the battery percent was 92% but when the restart occurred, it showed as 96%

Yep. Normal. Here's watcha can do. Go to settings, accessibility, and turn on reduce motion. Also, fetching mail drains a ton of juice. Turn off lockscreen view in notirication center. That uses battery. Go to celluar and restrict apps from using internet in backround. Also turn off LTE. Big drainer. Go to settings, privacy, location services, and turn that off. Also a big drainer. Finally, turn on airplane mode if you are really having trouble. Close apps running in the backround (double click home, swipe up on apps), and make sure your brightness isnt too high. Tell me if you still have problems. Good luck. My ipad did the same, ios 7, until i made those changes. Ipad tips and tricks on the app store also talks about this.

  • 2012 MBP serious battery drain, help!

Its a regular 2.6 model, i get around 2 hours. I took it to the store and they did the battery test, and its perfectly healthy they say. I've disabled as many features as possible. All i do is surf teh web. I've got some youtube tabs open (no videos are running), could that be whats causing it? im using chrome..
Running 10.8.2, i keep the power cord connected most of the time, but the times its out, i can literally see the percentage race down (ok maybe not so literally, but it loses 1% every 3 minute or so).
    Really appreciate any advice!

Figured out part of the problem. gfxCardStatus doesn't actually work in some/many apps, the discrete graphics stays on when in "Integrated Only" mode. If u've got a 15" MBP you might as well use "Dynamic Switching" mode, at least u'll know which graphics card is active.

  • MacBook Pro: Won't Turn On + Battery Draining HELP?

Bought my Macbook Pro in January, 2013. I have had no issues until yesterday, I shut it down completely the night before and took out the power cord.  Turned it on the next day, in the evening and it wouldn't turn on, put in the power cord and it was a faint green. I waited a few hours and the light had turned amber then bright green and turned on as normal and ran just fine. Today, the same thing happend it will not turn on, with the power cord turning a faint green.
I have tested the power cord, I have two and they are both fine. Haven't altered or installed anything within the system, e.g. memory. Once it turns on again it I can give details on what OS version I am running and anything else necessary.
I'm freaking out that something is majorly wrong, I love this computer!

May vary from model to model, but IFixIt.com shows the one for mine @ $120.
But I'm pretty sure it's something more besides the battery

  • Upgrade to Server 3.1 caused severe battery drain on devices

Upon upgrade to Server 3.1, I have noticed that all registered devices managed by Profile Manager -- iPhones and iPads -- experience severe battery drain.  To the point that a full charge of these device would cause complete battery drain in less than 4 hours, even on standby mode.
    Solution:
    On the managed device,
    Log on to My Devices
You will find that even though the device is Enrolled, it will have a duplicate device
Remove all profiles on the device
    Re-Enrol the device
I hope Apple fixes this.  I have device enrolled that's located overseas and it's difficult to inform the users on how to re-enrol their devices over the phone.

    Hi,
I have exactly the same problem after upgrading to Mac OS X Server 3.1.
All the connected iOS devices are continuously communicating with the Profile Manager of this server.
I have tried to delete all the devices and profiles and then re-enrolled them, at first this looked like the solution for me too.
Unfortunately after several hours some of the iOS devices started communicating heavily with this OS X 3.1 Server again, so the battery draining problem was back too.
For now I have temporary disabled the Profile Manager to stop the iOS devices communicating and draining their batteries.
@Apple: Please fix this as soon as possible!!!
    Kind regards,
    Rene.

Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased.

  • IPad battery draining quickly - tried everything, please help!?

Ive noticed recently that my iPad battery is rapidly draining.  I've even noticed a 20% decrease just overnight while locked, which has NEVER happened.  I've googled and research and tried everything possible.  So does anyone have some options I might be missing?
    Using 7.1.2, iPad 2.

Try this first -  Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery
    http://www.macblend.com/how-to-calibrate-your-mac-iphone-or-ipad-battery/
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. • Battery drain in ipad 2 since iOS 8.1.1 update

I recently updated my iPad 2 and iPhone 4s to the new iOS 8.1.1. Have noticed a significant reduction in battery life on my iPad ever since. I have turned off bluetooth, all notifications, reduced brightness. I've pretty much turned off all that I can to save my battery life. When I checked usage, the biggest usage factor is Safari at over 50%. The rest of the apps are marginal in usage. Went into Safari and unchecked a bunch of options. Any other suggestions?  At this point, I'm regretting doing the update. I've also noticed lag on certain websites and dislike the new way Safari is presented. I use to be able to just x out of all screen. Now I have to click the double box and swipe left to get a blank screen. The favorites bar on the side is always there too.  One last thing, my bar at the top minimizes when I'm on a web page and I have to click on it to get the option to go back, print, forward, etc.
thanks in advance, from a very untech savey person

    Hi Jaberboss
I did start a similar thread on this issue myself, but seeing what I've read here I hope you're ok with me adding it here to
This one is a true case of a phone with zero potentail (electrically)
OK, I've done the rounds on this one, whereby I'm just adding to the list of complaints so that (hopefully) the powers that be, or not, in my phones case, might listen.
Since updating my just over 12 month old 5s to 8.1.2, it has turned into a bag of spanners in respect of its battery life. Its literally gone from 24 or so hours between charges to less than 8 !!
I have tried shutting all the apps down and even had it sitting in full airplane mode, where i've left it alone with the screen off, yet its dropping around 1% every 3 to 4 minutes, blinding!! Checked battery usage in settings after 30 minutes, guess what standby 29 minutes usage 1 minute.
Also tried the full restore, but to no avail, still a bag of spanners!
(slight update here)  Even took the SIM out with it in airplane mode and deleted all apps and a full reboot - same thing!
Does anyone remember the good old days of a fixed land line, where the phone had to be plugged into the wall before you could actually use it? lol
Nothing like a bit of retro ay, but some how I cant see this one catching on Mr Apple. Thanks

  • My ipad mini battery drained , its charging but i cant open it , its been 30 mins and its still in the red bar .... what to do ???.... please help

my ipad mini battery drained , its charging but i cant open it , its been 30 mins and its still in the red bar .... what to do ???.... please help

This may take a while as it is drained, but be patitent and wait. And hopefully it would work.

  • Is it a battery drain to place auto lock on never

Ddoes it cause battery drain to put auto lock on never setting ?

Yes because the iPad will never go to sleep when you are not using it. The screen being on all of the time will help to drain the battery faster.

  • IPad 2 battery draining faster with iOS 7

Since upgrading to iOS 7, my iPad 2's batter has been draining much faster than before the upgrade.
One thing that might be contributing to this is how 7 revamped how it displays "open" applications.  Prior to 7 if you hit the Home button twice it would diisplay a row of icons at the bottom showing which apps were "active" or "open."  You could press an hold any icon and all icons would go int wiggle mode, and you could select certain processes and quit them.  This I did regualrly.
Now with iOS 7, tapping the Home button twice shows large images of the last screen in the apps shown at the bottom, showing just two or three, making it a slow process to side-scroll to find an app.  Gone is the means of quitting open apps as well.  My list of open apps is pretty long and I'm sure that with so many open processes, the batter charge takes a big hit.
I've looked in all the system settings and don't see any way to toggle or set the system such that I can quit running apps.
    So, here's my two-part question:
    1.  What steps can I take to slow the battery drain?
    2.  How can I close open apps?
Bonus:  How to revert the ugly "open apps" display back to something that resembles previous versions, particularly how to get rid of the screenshots that take up so much room?
    Many thanks!
    -Tod
    *iPad 2 running iOS 7
PS:  There ought to be a forum for iOS issues rather than forcing users to post in hardware-specific forums.

If the drain seems extreme there may be something else going on.
First try a reset: Hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons and don’t let go until the screen goes dark and the Apple logo appears (no data will be lost)
If that does not help, backup & Restore the iOS Software
