Ipad2 will not start ,just dead.battery is charged

Mine had a similar thing happen after a few weeks, except that mine wouldn't even start until I'd done the reset - I havn't had a problem since. Unless you start getting regular problems I wouldn't get too concerned. And it may have been caused by apps that you've downloaded, so it may not necessarily be down to the operating system or Apple's apps - but no code is bug free.

Turn off your laptop, unplug all wires, remove the battery, and hold the power button for thirty seconds. Afterwards, reattach the battery and connections. If it still won't start, remove the battery and start with just the AC power. Next try without the AC power and just the battery.

  • Macbook will not start!! Battery fully charged!!

    Hi,
I have a 3 year old Macbook, which was working fine till Monday night. I switched it off and charged it through the night.
In the morning, the charger showed green and I took it off charging. Thereafter, the Macbook will just not start!!
I tried taking the battery out and starting with the charger, still nothing!
I am in India and do not have an Apple store or anything to take it to
Is there something I can try before I look for someone travelling out of the country to get it rectified for me?
    Any help is welcome.

    Try resetting the PRAM http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1379.
Also starting up in safe mode or off an install disk to try drive repairs could help.

Yes, your battery is likely toast and in need of replacement.  Not much else for troubleshooting here.  Sorry.

  • PB will not start/run on battery

    Hey everyone,
I posted this on the power & batteries forum, but judging by the dates on the replies to other threads it seems like a VERY slow forum. So here goes...
    Just got a Powerbook G4 17", 1.67 ghz 2gigs ram but I have a problem.
It will not start-up from the battery. The battery takes a charge & all the lights turn green when I press the test button. When I try to start I can hear the fans run, LOUDLY, but that's it.
However, if I use the power cord it works perfectly, with one exception. The date is reset to 1969.
I ran the hardware test, using the OS discs and everything passed.
I reset the PMU, but that didn't help. Does this mean that there is an internal battery that needs to be replaced? The manual implies that the internal battery is rechargeable, so I'm a bit confused.
Any help or info is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance

Yeah, weekends tend to be slow. Good time for beer drinking, right!?
Your symptoms sound similar to my 1G 17" PowerBook I was given earlier this year. Once charged, the battery will last about 30-45 minutes, drop to zero, then recharge to 100 percent WAY too fast. I had a guy at an Apple Store look at it and he said that its failing at a specific power level each time while showing "good" health" is indicative of a bad cell in the battery. Mine was five years old so he advice was to get a new one.
There is indeed an internal backup battery that is rechargeable. It's located under the optical drive and one of the USB ports is attached to it. Mine was dead when I got the computer but managed to take a charge after I left the computer plugged into the wall for several days with power off. Rechargeable batteries do have a finite life, and the backup in the PB does not have enough power to start the computer even when new.
Pull the battery and let the internal backup charge from wall power for several days and don't use the computer. Then put the main battery back and see if you can get the normal sleep behavior that gives you time to reconnect AC power when the battery dies.
Also make sure your charger is the 65W version. Mine came with a 45W version from a smaller PB and will not start without the main battery installed, even in its current sorry state.

  • MAC BOOK PRO WILL NOT START- COMPLETELY DEAD!

I forgot to power down my mac book pro last night. I closed the lid & forgot to go back & turn it off completely. This morning it will not power up. The machine is completely dead.
The power supply wasn't connected overnight so I assume the battery has completely drained. It's been charging for the last 2 hours (which would normally have fully charged it) but the light on the power cord is still showing green so I assume it's still charging, however there should be plenty of juice in the battery to start the computer but it still won't start.
Any ideas how to get it started?

A dead battery will take longer to start charging, but leave it on and eventually it will start to charge again.
Once you get it charged, perform a SMC and PRAM reset

  • MacBook Pro, late 2013 will not start up on battery.

Why won't my MacBook Pro (Retina, 13", late 2013) start up on battery, even though it's charged 100%?  I can start it up with the power cord, then disconnect the cord and it runs fine and the battery doesn't seem to run down too quickly.  I just downloaded OS X Yosemite 10.10.3 last night and this started today.  Any help?

    Try a SMC reset:

  • MacBook Pro will not start after removing battery?

My MacBook Pro has recently had a brand new battery put it, it's worked perfectly till now. My mouse was very loose so I decided to tighten it up. So I removed the battery, tightened the mouse and replaced the battery back (I've checked it's right) . However it now won't start up! At all, even when plugged into the mains. A faint flicking green light comes on the charger. Please help!

    Try this:
    PRAM/NVRAM Reset.

good luck.....if all else fails, bring it to Apple and see what's going on with it.  Just don't let them know that you took the battery out.

  • Urgent HELP needed: Address Book will not start, just spinning wheel.

When I want to start the Address Book I just get the spinning wheel without end.
If I press: Command-Option-Esc to force-quit the application I am informed that the Address Book is not responding; I can only force-quit the application.
Since my AB data is also on MobileMe and another computer, I could, if necessary, delete whatever data files (and repopulate later). But how do I get Address Book working again?
Your help is highly appreciated. Thanks, Veit

Thanks, Roam, for the referral to Pacifist; sounds useful in the future.
I could solve my problem by:
    - deleting the com.apple.AddressBook.plist file
    - resetting the synchronization files as described in http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=10868689&#10868689
    - and finally syncing with MobileMe, i.e. overwriting the computer with data from MobileMe.
All seems to work again, also the resizing. Thanks again for your help. Cheers, Veit

  • OS X Yosemite will not start, just busy icon

I have installed OS X Yosemite on my MacBook, and now can not log on. I come to the log on screen,.I "log on" and just get a busy icon (rotating circle), and it has been like this for 24 hrs, 2 separate times now over the weekend.
Anyone have an idea for how to get past this. Keep in mind I made the mistake of NOT backing up my data on the MacBook beforehand. Is there a way of reinstalling maybe Snow Leopard and not losing any data, maybe dual OS, and then deleting one? or anything similar?
    Thank you
