Iphone 3GS and iOS 5
I have just downloadded iOS 5 to my iphone 3GS - it now takes around 30 seconds to open up everyday items such as phone and contacts - sometimes it reverts back to my homescreen. I have redownloaded and restored a number of times with the same thing happening each time - is this a common problem?
I updated to ios5 about a week ago and things just from bad to worse. Today the keyboard clicks faded away. When I was typing my unlock code, there wee clicks for the first three numbers and not for the last three. Then all clicks stopped completely. Now music does not play thru the speakers. All sounds are there with headphones. Have checked all settings, done soft and hard resets, Help!

Problems with Iphone 3GS and IOS 6.1.3
IOS 6.1.3 downloads and installs, when the phone restarts it wants to download the upgrade again.
About shows that the phone is running IOS 6.1.2
I have downloaded the upgrade 3 times with same result.
Restarted the phone manually to no avail.
What's wrong ?Confirm 3GS can be upgraded to iOS 6.1.
I was sitting on the sideline and finally upgraded ATT 3GS to iOS 6.1 last night as follows:
1. Backup via iTunes to iMac
2. Completed and exited iTune.
3. Upgrade 3GS to iOS 6.1 via WiFi (not iTune)
4. Follow on-screen iOS 6.1 Setup (just a few features to turn on/off)
While I have only got a few hours on iOS 6.1 since I got up, iCloud, 3G and WiFiworking fine.
Beware YouTube is gone for good.

I have an iphone 3GS and I have upgraded it to iOS 6. Since then it doesn't work properly.
Every now and then it has been restarting by itself and requiring restore. When I connect it to itunes it restarts again and again without letting me take any action. Is there any solution?Hey, There are afew things you can try.
- Simply turn your phone off and back on again
- Hold down your home button and your lock button and let goes as soon as the screen goes black (Phone will power down) - Then turn on your phone and hey presto!
- Back up your iPhone to your PC, then restore it..
this ones last cause I think you may have tried it already..
- Close all open applications

i factory unlock my iphone 3gs and was on ios 6.1.2 and updatednit to 6.1.3 with itunes and the phone got lock again at activation screen. i try downgrading to 4.1 with baseband 5.13.04 and want to upgrade back to 6.1.2. pls help me
Sorry, downgrading the iOS is not supported by Apple, thus there is no official way to do so. Your phone was re-locked to the carrier it was originally locked to because you hacked it to unlock it. Apple's servers detected such & re-locked your phone. You need to contact the carrier your phone is locked to if you want to get it officially unlocked.

Need help finding out what happened to my phone and what I can do. After trying to update my iPhone 3GS to IOS 5 my phone will no longer work and is an unknown device to any computer. It is like it wiped out everything on the iPhone and has no hardware or data on it. At the end of the download and update of IOS 5 it said there was an error during the process and gave me no option but to push ok and know phone is not working. The screen shows the USB plug and iTunes symbol, but computers will not recognize device.
What was the error number? That would be very useful since the following gives actions for various errors.

i just upgraded my iphone 3gs to ios 6 not sure if it updated but now when i turn on my phone it says automatically that i need to connect it to itunes using the USB port but when i connect it it comes up as new hardware and cannot find a program/software for my device even though i have the latest itunes on my computer. i have tried reinstalling itunes but it still cannot find my phone and now i cannot use my phone as it is stuck on the sync to itunes screen

I have exactly the same problem. Before the update to 5.0.1 whenever I connected my 3GS to my MacBook Image Capture used to open. Now nothing happens. When I opened Image Capture or iPhoto, either program recognized my device as the iPhone, but no pictures showed up on the screen.
I emailed the photo's from the iPhone to myself and that worked OK.
Have no idea why the computer doesn't recognize the iPhone as a camera anymore.

Updated iphone 3GS to IOS 5.01 and now I cannot restore or activate phone

Today I updated my stock iphone 3gs to IOS 5.01 from 4.3.5. All went well until I noticed that my apps had not be restored. I attempted to restore my phone in iTunes but now all I get is "There is a problem with your iphone" message appear in iTunes and on my device.
What can I do to restore the phone to working condition? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I have updated my iphone 3gs to ios 5 from 4.1 and it has locked back to the orginal sim card in america but as i live in ireland an american simcard wont work here is there any way i can unlock ios 5 or delete it off my iphone and go back to 4.1 so i can use my iphone ?
It sounds like you have a hacked/unofficially unlocked iphone. When you update, it will indeed lock it back, as it should.
The ONLY place that can legitimately unlock an iphone is the carrier to which they are locked and no U.S. carrier does this. -
I have installed the new iOS 5 on my Iphone 3GS and my bluetooth connection for my Philips bluetooth headset doesn't work anymore. Does anybody have a solution?
I have checked the headset on another Iphone with iOS 4 and it works well.

i have the iphone 3gs and ive dropped it a few times. when i press the home and lock button, it will not turn on, but when i plug it in, it says in big font IOS 6 and when i slide it open it says connect to itunes or emergency call. it wont turn on when i plug it in to my pc. tips?

Place the Device into Recovery mode... All data / Content will be Erased.
