IPhone 4 - "No Service" on IOS 7.1

Hi,
After few days that my IPhone 4 upgraded to IOS7.1, I've noticed that I'll become loosing connection during calls and I've seen continuos "No Service".
Finally the IPhone is stable on "No Service".
I've tryed the sim in an other telephone and it's work.
I've tryed to make a restore of the Iphone, also in DFU Mode, and it still don't work.
The problems had started when I've use the Iphone in tethering mode, and from then in the Iphone tethering menù is inacessible (rolling whell).
I'd call a apple center and the first thing they said that the Iphone has broken and I've must to buy another.
I don't agree and I've search in the apple forum about this problem and I've seen that there are a lot of users that have the same problem.
I've contact apple support, and in a very kindly way, they sayd that there are no official problem at the moment: I've to wait for a firmware upgrade that could solve the problem or buy another IPhone.
Actually I've a IPhone that don't work... and I'm really upset
Is there any one that have the same problem?
Thanks
Alessandro

  • Iphone 4 without service after IOS 5.1

I am without service after IOS 5.1.  Since the upgrade, my phone can't make or receive any call. I bought it from my mobile operator (Claro Brasil) itself. The odd thing is that when I use the SIM of my brother (from another provider - TIM) the phone works perfectly. Please, can someone give me any advice. I called to Claro and they said everything is fine with my network and that they will open a procedure to see what can be done. I think they don't know what is happening and I can't wait much longer.
    Thank you in advance.

Yes, I tried to restore it as new. Actually, 2 times, with and without backup. Today I will try to get a new SIM. Hopefully, that will solve my problem, but I am a bit skeptical as my SIM was working ok before the update.
Thank you very much for your help.

Not a good sign. Try forcing the phone into recovery mode & restoring it. If this fails, make an appointment at an Apple store:
Turn your phone off. Leave the USB cable connected to your computer, but NOT your phone, iTunes running, press & hold the home button while connecting the USB cable to your dock connector, continue holding the home button until you see “Connect to iTunes” on the screen. You may now release the home button. iTunes should now display that it has detected your phone in recovery mode, if not quit and reopen iTunes. If you still don’t see the recovery message repeat these steps again. iTunes will give you the option to restore from a backup or set up as new.

It sounds a lot like your phone was hacked or jailbroken to unlock it prior to your trying to update it.
If that is the case, it is nowpermanently bricked.

It also appears that your phone may have been Hacked and / or Jailbroken...

  • Why has Siri stopped working on iPhone 4 after upgrading to IOS 5?

Why has Siri stopped working on iPhone 4 after upgrading to IOS 5? I've tried the disable and reboot but continue to get the network error.

Apple has not been forthcoming on the explanation. My Siri worked on my iphone4 (not 4s) immediately after upgrading to IOS5, but I take it they have redirected the servers that used to support Siri to only work with Iphone4s.
It is one thing for apple to only bundle the improved Siri with IPhone 4S, or  for them to remove Siri from the Ap store.
But it is another thing all together for apple to purchase a company, and then cease the service that many of us paid for.
Attempts to contact apple at apple store and via email have been unhelpful.

  • Hello! Im having problems about my Iphone showing NO SERVICE on top. Im not able to send and receive msg, same with calls

Hello Guys! I hope someone could help me, Im having trouble with my phone's signal, I am not able to send and receive msgs, same as make calls and receive calls. At first, my phone is working fine (iphone 4, iOS 7.0.4) and all of a sudden, my text messages are not getting through, and I noticed that my phone shows NO SERVICE, I refreshed the phone by turning it off and turning it on after a couple of minutes, it worked. My phone is okay again after that, Im able to send and receive messages again. But after few hours, the problem came again. NO SERVICE sign is displayed again, but this time after refreshing the phone nothing good happened. I tried almost every possible thing I can to fix it but it doesn't work. What should I do.
    Thank you

    Hey Clara,
These are the recommended troubleshooting steps to resolve No Service issues on iPhone:
Toggle airplane mode: Tap Settings > Enable Airplane Mode, wait five seconds, then turn off airplane mode.
Turn iPhone off and then on again.
Remove the SIM card and verify that it's a valid, carrier-manufactured SIM. Also verify that it isn't damaged, worn, or modified. Then reinsert it.
Check for a carrier-settings update. Connect to a Wi-Fi network. Then tap Settings > General > About. If an update is available, iOS will ask you if you want to install it. If Wi-Fi isn't available, connect your device to iTunes.
Update your iPhone to the latest version of iOS.
Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. This will reset all network settings, including Bluetooth pairing records, Wi-Fi passwords, VPN, and APN settings.
    Restore the iPhone.
If you are outside the United States, please also follow these steps:
Go to Settings > Carrier > Automatic.
If the phone registers any carrier network, Settings > Carrier will be present.
If the Carrier option is missing in Settings and you are outside of the Unites States, please contact Apple for support and service options.
Set the option for Automatic to off.
A list of potentially available carriers appears after about two minutes. If the device is locked to a carrier, it may connect only to the carrier network to which it is locked. If the device displays carrier networks, then the device is working as expected.
Set Settings > Carrier > Automatic back to on.
If you're still experiencing No Service issues, contact your carrier to check for any network or account issues that could cause these symptoms.

i updated my iphone 4s to the latest ios ( 6.1.3 ) and afte the update i found the wifi is grayed .. any help is really appreciated

This is most often a severe hardware fault of the WiFi Chip. But steps to try are, Settings App > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. See if fixed. If not, Restore iPhone with iTunes on your computer. See if fixed. If not, and if there is Warranty or AppleCare make Genius reservation or set up service and take or send to Apple for resolution.

  • Wifi doesnt work on iphone 4s after updating to ios 8.02. How do i fix this?

The wifi doesn't work on my iphone 4s after updating to ios 8.02. How do i fix this?

Did you already try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again? You will not lose data by resetting.
If this did not work, and to rule out a software issue, setting it up as new device would be the next step:
iOS: How to back up your data and set up your device as a new device
If still no luck, this might be a hardware problem and the phone has to be checked by an Authorized Apple Service Provider or Apple:

  • IPhone 5 No Service Issue

I posted this in the ATT forums but haven’t heard back.  Thought I would give it a shot here.
Short story – has anyone with an iPhone 5 had “No Service” issues with ATT and been able to fix it?
Long story – A couple of months ago they upgraded the towers to LTE and now the service is horrible.  Whenever my phone switches between LTE, 4G, and E it goes No Service first.  It is constantly switching so I cannot complete a phone call lasting longer than a minute.  It will also sit in No Service for extended periods since the tower upgrade.  I am the only one in the house with an iPhone 5.  The other phones are not experiencing this issue.
Has anyone had a similar problem?   How did you fix it?
I have called multiple times.  I have emailed.  I have chatted.  I have received no help on this issue.  A member of my family plan called them yesterday about this issue.  They said they would call me back on her phone at 7 to troubleshoot my phone.  They never did call.
Additionally, I have other problems since the “upgrades.”  The data usage is way off.  I have used a data counter and ATT is claiming I’m using considerably more than my counter shows.  I have tried to get credits for this but they say we will give you credits after we fix the phone.  They never fix the phone though so I never get the credits.  It’s like some weird Kafkaesque Catch-22.
I am really so sick of the whole situation that I just want to switch to a different carrier.  I don’t want the cancellation fees though and I want to port my numbers.  I would think I wouldn’t be subjected to the fees because the service doesn’t work, but I’m sure there is some weird catch to that as well.
    Thanks for any help

Since you didn't tell what troubleshooting steps you took, if any, do the followning steps:
    1. Reset phone (no data loss): press both home and power buttons for at least 10 seconds, releasing when the Apple logo appears.
    2. Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
    3. Replace SIM card from AT&T
    4. Restore phone in iTunes using a backup
    5. Restore in iTunes as new, without using a backup.
    6. Warranty service from Apple.

  • I have iPhone 3GS, if I install iOS 4.3.5. will it be locked again?

I have iPhone 3GS, if I install iOS 4.3.5. will it be locked again?

The ONLY place can unlock an iphone is the carrrier to which it is locked and ONLY if they offer that service.
For example, AT&T in the U.S. does not unlock any iphones at all.
You can buy an unlocked iphone from the Apple Store now, but you cannot get a locked phone unlocked in the U.S.
