IPhone 5s make no automatic backup icloud
I reset the iPhone and still the iphone not make automatic backup on icloud. Iphone have wifi connection and connect with power.
This shouldn't take 2 days but again I have no clue how big the backup is
You might need to restore and try to restore via icloud again
normally I would use iTunes if u have the old device but other wise limited options

Just sitting and watching TV and having some minor text conversations on my phone (5S).. Next thing I know a message pops up without a name and the +1 area code an number.. The message is from the same person and number I was just texting. Strange I thought.. Pulled up my contacts and "no contacts" is displayed. Checked my settings.. iCloud contacts are still enabled.. reset my phone.. reset network settings.. nothing helped.. I thought, no big deal.. I backup every night.
First time restoring from backup, I saw all the contacts there and thought i was in the clear.. 10 seconds later, they disappear before my eyes! Getting very frustrated i tried an older backup. They don't even show up. I log into iCloud on my laptop and they are there for 2-3 seconds and disappear.
I've been using iPhone's since the original and have the new phone every year.. I pretty good with these phones, but this has me stumped/very frustrated. Has anyone experienced this or found a solution? I'm out all my contacts from the last 8 years.. Thinking I never had to worry because I've backed up!

RyanI don't think that is the case.. I noticed they were there when I would first complete a restore from backup but as soon as my apps started loading they would disappear again.
I got them back by immediately turning on airplane mode as soon as I completed the restore. I the turned off iCloud sync and selected keep contacts on this phone. turned iCloud back on and selected merge contacts.
First time I tried that it worked for a minute until the apps started to update again, I believe it might have been WhatsApp, then, what do you know, contacts gone again. I repeated the process and, this time, I deleted all my apps. Seems to be working ok now. All contacts have stayed.
Is it possible that an auto update for an app that accesses your contacts could have a bug that does this? Whatever it was, I am very glad I got them back.

I'm using MindNode Pro on OS X Mountain Lion, which saves documents to iCloud in a similar fashion to any of the iWork apps. I previously synced with Dropbox, which was automatically backed up with TimeMachine. Is there a way to do the same with iCloud?
ThanksiCloud documents are backed up in Time Machine.

My iPhone 5 will not automatically backup to icloud anymore now that iOS7 has been installed. Steps I have tried so far...
Installed iOS7 through Software Update - relazed three days later that the phone was not backing up
Did a manual backup
Erased the entire phone
Restored from iCloud backup
Then reset all phone settings
Signed out of iCloud, deleted all data and then signed back in

Note that a manual backup also factors into the automatic backup schedule, meaning the next automatic backup will not occur until 48 hours later.
Actually the iCloud backup process sounds a bit more complicated than it actually is in practical use. You can’t schedule iCloud backups manually, but you don’t need to do so as iOS takes care of this for you, and it’s designed to be pretty transparent.
Once enabled, iCloud backups will run automatically whenever the following conditions are met:
Your device is powered on,
Your device is connected to the Internet via Wi-Fi,
Your device is connected to a power source,
Your device has the screen locked (i.e. turned off), and
It has been at least 24 hours since the last successful backup occurred.
In other words, your device may not be backed up to iCloud at the same time every day, but once 24 hours has elapsed the iPhone will make a backup as soon as it is plugged in and on Wi-Fi with the screen off. For example, if your iPhone backs up to iCloud at 10:00 pm tonight, but you don’t plug it in while on a Wi-Fi connection until midnight tomorrow night, the next backup will occur at midnight—basically as soon as you plug it in—and future backups will continue to run at midnight on subsequent days as long as the iPhone is plugged in, connected to Wi-Fi, and has the screen off at that time. If you’re working an irregular schedule and coming home at different hours, this may gradually push the backups to later at night, but the backup won’t be skipped if you miss the time window—it will still occur as soon as possible once all of the other conditions are met.
This does of course mean that sometimes backups can get pushed to the point where they may be delayed until the next night; come home at 10 a.m. on a Sunday morning and plug in your iPhone and that’s when your next backup will occur, but if you leave for work on Monday morning at 9:00 am and your phone isn’t plugged in and on Wi-Fi while at work, you won’t get another automatic backup until you get home and plug it in later that night.
You can check the time of the last successful iCloud backup by going into the Settings app on your iPhone and choosing Storage & Backup from the iCloud section.
You can also tap the “Back Up Now” button from this screen to create a manual iCloud backup at any time. To create a manual iCloud backup, your iPhone only needs to be on Wi-Fi, it does not need to be plugged in or have the screen off.
Note that a manual backup also factors into the automatic backup schedule, meaning the next automatic backup will not occur until 48 hours later.
This can be one method for adjusting to a specific backup time if you really feel the need to, but it’s largely unnecessary as iOS should naturally settle into a standard backup routine as long as your iPhone is regularly plugged in and on Wi-Fi for at least a few hours each day, such as while you’re sleeping.
As one last note, it’s also worth keeping in mind that the iPhone only needs to be connected to power with the screen off to start an iCloud backup; once the automatic backup has started, it will continue as long as the iPhone remains on a Wi-Fi connection, even if you unplug the iPhone or begin using it. -
How long does it take for iCloud to automatically backup?
I understand that when you plug in your iPhone, i Cloud will automatically backup.. when does it begin the backup process? As in how long after it has been plugged in does it begin to back up data such as pictures from the phone?
If you have an iCloud backup, it's hard to tell when it's going to start with the backup process. It will be at least once a day, and from my experience, it seems to be when nothing else is goimg on with the iPad. However, if you want to start that process yourself, you can do so by gping to Settings, then iCloud, then Backup, then Back Up Now. That way you can pick the backup to start any time you want.

i just got the new 5s and when i downloaded my contacts from iCloud a lot of them were missing!!!! i tired to make a new backup from my old iphone but it didn´t worked, what can i do to get all my contacts?

My wife's new iPhone was automatically backing up to iCloud. Now my 5mb limit is not allowing me to get my email. I turned off the automatic backup, but I do I get the storage capacity back?
Turning off automatic backup doesn't delete anything from your account, it only stops it from continuing to back up to iCloud. If you want to reduce your iCloud storage, this article provides some suggestions: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4847.

I have both my iPhone and iPad backing up via iCloud but the data is not being shared between the devices. When I backup it appears to be working as there are no error messages but the data is not shared between each. Any help would be great as this is very frustrating.
Backing up to icloud is not the same as syncing data between devices. Go to
Settings>Store. Turn on the automatic downloads that you want on that screen.
Settings>iCloud. Turn on the features you want to sync between devices. -
My iphone storage is full due to my large photo library. As I want to go on taking more photos, if I back up my phone to icloud, can I then delete all my photos from my iphone to make room for new photos? Or will the next time I back up lose all those previously backed up as it is a 'new' set of data?
I just want to find the easiest and safest way of not losing all my photos while being able to take more than my iPhones storage worth as it is already full - can someone help me please? I thought icloud was the solution to not uploading my photos to the mac but I'm not sure if the way it's going is working and don't want to delete photos or lose my phone and then find out what I'm doing isn't actually storing my photos permanently. As you are clearly aware, it is important for you to have backups of your important data, including all of these photos you are currently keeping on your iPhone. While it is possible to use iTunes or iCloud to do backups of your iPhone, the problem becomes how to access those backups if you have deleted the photos from your iPhone. Once you have done the backup and then removed the photos from the iPhone, the only way to access the photos is by restoring the backups to the phone. I just bought an iphone 5. I came home to backup my iphone 4 to my pc (Windows 7). I transferred purchases, then selected "automatically Backup", then clicked on "This Computer", saying a full backup would be stored on this computer. that was almost 3 hours ago. the slanted lines are continually moving across the to and the circle with arrows is still revolving on my phone and beside my device name on the side toolbar. Is it stuck or does it really take this long? My 16GB phone is almost full, so there's not a lot of empty space available. I want to stop it but I'm scared I'll lost the info on my phone. I do have it backed up to icloud, but that doesn't get everything, does it? Help please! I'm not real computer savvy, or itunes savvy, so please speak plain talk! Thank you!

iPad, iPod not syncing on Mavericks…. I-Tunes freezing on connection of same to the usb port! The following fixed these issues on my MacBook Pro running 10.9.3. I do have Xcode on my laptop, but have never used it…. I’m not a programmer or hacker, just a cheesed of Apple fan. I tried many of the already suggested possible fixes and nothing helped. Got fed up using the disk repair utility and getting no further on.
I opened System Preferences, Security & Privacy/Privacy. In Accessibility, after having scanned all my files many times, I added the following apps, some of them may be developer tools from Xcode, and gave them all control….. then did a computer restart.

If iCloud Backup is turned on in Settings->iCloud->Backup
The iPhone will backup automatically, when its plugged in, locked, and connected to Wifi.
So if you let it charge while connected to wifi recently for a few hours and did not use it, it probably backed up.
If you can still access the iPhone, you can check the date of the last iCloud backup in Settings->iCloud->Backup -

IPhone automatic backup file location while upgrading to iOS 5
I need to know where is located the iPhone automatic backup file created by iTunes while upgrading iPhone to iOS 5 via iTunes 10.5.2.11 / Windows XP. Itunes creates automatically a backup of iPhone before upgrading and will restore this backup after upgrade is completed. I need to know where to find this backup file.
I just upgraded iPhone to iOS 5 via iTunes on Windows XP. I forgot to make my own iPhone backup before upgrading. After upgrading and restoring iPhone (the automaitc backup), iTunes started a sync with Outlook even tough I had checked in iTunes "Prevent iPods, iPhones and iPads from syncing automatically".
I did not wish iTunes to sync with Outlook, and cancelled the sync. Now I got a lot of stuff mixed up in my iPhone and I would like to restore my iPhone with the automatic backup created by iTunes before upgrading to iOS 5. This backup doesn't show in the backups listed in iTunes / device backups.

Is there anyway to restore all photos, apps, etc onto an iPad using the most recent iCloud back up from an iPhone? I did a backup on my iPhone today but when I restored my iPad using that backup, only the photos in the photostream transferred to the iPad?

iTunes does prompt when it is going to erase a device, and the message is clear.
She said in her message that she was able to successfully sync the old ipad. This indicated to me that itunes wiping the data was not an issue, because either it had been setup at the apple store (in which case it doesn't actually wipe the ipad despite saying it will*) (*based on a single case I saw), or because the itunes media folder was migrated.
Furthermore, my solution was to tell her how to backup her ipad (by either doing it manually, or as a last resort, by deleting the corrupt backup -- that she couldn't access anyway.)
I got that last part of the instructions from the "Taking Control of your iphone" book which I found samples of when I did a google search for "corrupted backup itunes".
She marked this as a solution, so it worked for her.
