Iphone does 800 mb of unwanted data traffic in 20 days at 24:00. push is deactivated and localization too. I have 230 apps. Wich one needs that much? what can I do? I don't use it much (total data connection is 1.2gb in 20 days) Please apple do something)

I haven't changed much,since 1 year ago. Have apple 3gs, os 4.1. Added a few apps. I think things changed by doing update of apps.
Most of my apps are for free. I would really like to find out what my iphone does.
I saw on the detail of the bill that 800 mb are at 24:00, 400 mb are in the rest of the day. I'm not using it at 24:00 so these are not used by me. For the rest, I think in total I used 200 mb, as my use hasn't changed much in the last 2 years, and I was at max there for the first years with iphone.
I had to swich to an unlimited plan, but this issue shuldn't happen at all.
My message to apple is, we must know what our phone is doing, if it behaves like this it can be very risky.
I leave near the border. Think whath happens if I do 300 mb in roaming in a few days (actually I get a bill of 150$). Or wat shuld I do in holydays? leave my iphone home is the best solution for now. If I can't activate data roaming I don't need an iphone at all. I take the phone with the good cam.
Then the battery goes down by 50% without using it, I had it in my poket and watched a few youtube vids, made 2 calls, send 5 sms, looked at about 10 email. Battery is at 15%.
My sonyericcsson goes on for 3 days, using 3g and hsdpa.
One other thing that happens by mobilephones when 3g is active, is that the phone searches constantly for a 3g network. It shuldn't do this. It shuld only do this search if I use gprs connection. Because by searching it gives max power to the antenna, this uses the battery!
I think apple cud fix that, other companies will come after with the same fix.

You can turn off roaming in the settings... General... Network
I know this doesn't explain what is happening, but it will put your mind at easy when on holiday.
Get in touch with Apple, call them and ask.
This should not be happening.

how do I make it so that the one computer that has the main itunes account on it be used on other computers, when it comes to backing up phones and not deleting data off of phone that isnt on that computer itunes becasse its all on the one main computer. Baiscally the problem is that one comuter and one account has always been sued for eey persons itunes. Now if we want to be able to backup and use itunes on our own computers fro our iphones and such, how will all he data that is on our phones not be deleted once its plugged into a new computer? Also, is theere a way to get all the stuff on thw current itunes onto each computer, via differtn account name?
option discovered in preferences. Really this and any feature that moves deletes or edits a users data should as far as possible be OFF BY DEFAULT. It shouldn't by default and without the users specific say do this dangerous and unnecessary thing without even letting the user know what it's doing!!! And then cause me a few hours (as i'm new to mac) searching for the option so as to switch it off. If i hadn't noticed the status cage declaring that it was copying files then i might never have twigged that this insane thing was occurring. And if i hadn't of noticed i would have been left maintaining the contents of the folder i copied the files to, the folder which as far as i was informed and so believed was also the location of the music files i was playing. How does Apple justify this 'genius' piece of software non-design? Surely it will hurt no one if this was off by default for new users - overall at least i dare say it would cause a lot less distress in the future for the unsuspecting public at large. My Iphone 4 will not send regular SMS messages. I have tried resetting my phone and by restoring and making sure i have SMS turned on. I receive them but can not send them. imessages work also. Plus my cellular data keeps randomly turning off. any ideas? Thank you
Yes I have turned imessage off a number of times and that does not seem to he doing the trick, and it is not delivering them then I have to press on the photo and either chose try again or send as text message, I have had the setting on to not allow sending pictures as texts (so they can only send as imessage) since I got my phone in January and it has always worked until now, I have turned that off to allow me to send them as picture messages now but it's still not working over iMessage, I have also tried it using 3G and not wifi

To transfer your current hard drive I like the applications Carbon Copy Cloner or SuperDuper. They make a bootable copy of everything on your hard drive. http://www.bombich.com/index.html or http://www.shirt-pocket.com/SuperDuper/SuperDuperDescription.html
You'll need a cheap SATA external hard drive case. Put the new drive in the case then format and partition the new drive and clone your old drive to the new one. Check that it's set up right by booting up from the external drive. Then replace your old hard drive with the new one and put your old one in the external case.

A complication that I need to resolve is the fact that I am using Vmware
Fusion to be able to use Windows on my Mac. Now it seems that Time
Machine is not backing up my files
on that virtual Windows without additional configuration and my question
is whether you can advise me here or whether this is only a matter for
the Fusion virtual machine.If you want to use Time Capsule you can.. you simply bridge it and plug it into the existing router.. wireless can be either turned off or used to reinforce the existing wireless.. eg use 5ghz in the TC which is much faster than your 2.4ghz.
You can also use a NAS.. many brands available but the top brands are synology, qnap and netgear readynas series. These will all do Time Machine backups although how well always depends on Apple sticking to a standard. There are cheaper ones.. I bought a single disk zyxel which was rebadged and sold through my local supermarket. It actually works very well for TM at least on Snow Leopard. Major changes were made in Lion and again ML so do not instantly think it will work on later versions. I haven't tried it yet with those versions.
Any external drive can be plugged into the mac. Use the one with the fastest connection or cheapest price according to your budget. USB2 drives are cheap and plentiful. But no where near as fast as USB3 or FW800. So just pick whichever suits the ports on your Mac. Interesting Apple finally moved to USB3 on their latest computers.
TM should exclude the VM partition file.. it is useless backing it up from Mac OS side.. and will slow TM as it needs to backup that partition everyday for no purpose.. TM cannot see the files inside it to backup just the changes.
You need to backup windows from windows. Use MSbackup to external drive.. if you have pro or ultimate versions you can backup to network drive. But MSbackup is a dog.. at least until the latest version it cannot restore the partition without first loading windows. There are about a zillion backup software versions for windows.. look up reviews and buy one which works for you. I use a free one Macrium Reflect which does full disk backups and is easy to restore.. to do incremental backups though you have to pay for it. -
My husband and I share music in one itunes account for both of our iphones. We just got the new iphone 5s's and iin ttryinngto back up our old phones I have realized we SHARE one icloud as well. Can I create him a new icloud for pictures, contacts etc
You can have one icloud account and a different itunes account on the phone. I have my icloud account and a shared itunes account. He does not have to use the new icloud account as is ID in itunes and app store. He can keep using the old one.

I recently had to install a new hard drive in my computer. This caused me to have to reload all content back to my iTunes and iPod. I have many apps on my iPod and i don't know how to transfer those back to my iTunes. Can anyone help?
Right clicking on your ipod in the device list an d choosing "transfer purchases" will copy apps and bought media from iTunes to your computer. Due to the new iTunes library on your new HD, iTunes will erase your ipod during the first sync. Basically it's backing up manually, transferring her purchases (apps and bought music), letting iTunes erase the ipod due to the new iTunes library, and restoring from the manual backup again, to get all the data and settings back.
Make sure your new computer account is authorized in iTunes. Disable autosync in itunes, connect your ipod, right click on it in the device list and choose backup.

Transfer your purchases the same way to copy all apps and bought media from the Store to your computer.
Set up at least one contact and event on your computer to be able the merge your calendars and contacts after your ipod got wiped during the first sync.

Music is one way only, from the computer to your device, unless you bought the songs in itunes and transferred your purchases.

I bought my Apple TV in Singapore and I haven’t used it yet. When I try to rent a film, comes the message that may signature is not working for security issues.
However, when I go to the Apple Web site, click "Support", and then "Register an Apple Product", I can´t do it, because they ask me for a MPN number that I don’t have, because I through out the package. What can I do without having the MPN number?

Welcome to the Apple community.
You cannot download a backup from iCloud, the only way to access it is to restore to the backup with your new phone, which you should have done when you first connected it. If you restore now, you will lose all the new information you have added to your new phone. -
CS 4 Dynamic Link to Encore doesn't work most of the time. Encore stops operating after opening and periodically Premier Pro stops working. I'm told that there has been a problem with CS4 when using Dynamic Link to go to Encore and build CD's. Is there a way around this? Is there a patch to correct it?

If DL is not working properly for you the way around this is to export from Premiere to either mpeg2-dvd for DVD or BluRay H.264 for BD-disks and import the files in Encore. -
I have two iPads, two separate accounts I have purchased apps on one Acc. and would like to use them on my second iPad. How is this possible
If you go to Settings > iTunes & AppStore , you can sign out from your account, and sign in with the one you've used to purchase apps.This will not remove any apps you already have on it.
Then you can go to AppStore and download apps you've purchased (either via "Purchased" button in "Updates", or simply search for them and download them.
That way you can have multiple accounts' apps on your iPad. When updating, you will be prompted for the credentials for account you've purchased given App with. -

If the apps that are on your son's iPad were purchased under his Dad's Apple ID, then signing your Apple ID onto the iPad will not help you with updating those apps.
Also, if the iPad was sync'd with his Dad's iTunes library, then hooking it up to your computer/iTunes library, will require you to reset the iPad, and everything that was loaded under the other Library and Apple ID will be wiped out.
Can you provide a little more info about what was set up under which Apple ID and what iTunes library the iPad was sync'd with?
