IPhone/iPod Touch Safari won't open iTunes Store URL link - help

Hi!
If I use regular web browser on my computer and click on an iTunes Store URL, iTunes App Store will open and show the app info. How come this doesn't work with iPhone Safari web browser? I got alert message "Safari cannot open the page because the address is invalid."
Is there another way to make it works?
thanks

Try resetting it:
Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

How did you unlock your iPhone? If you jailbroke it, that probably caused the problem with Safari.
If not, try restarting or restoring your iPhone.

Content bought using one Apple ID cannot be merged or transferred to another Apple ID.
All you need to do is delete those apps belonging to your wife.
Check Settings > iTunes & App Store > Apple ID: > your own Apple ID here. If not, sign out here and sign in yours.

  • IPod Touch apps won't open if they use WiFi

Ok, so my iPod touch is about a year old and yes, I do have the new software. Every time I try to use any application that requires Wifi (Words With Friends, even Safari) it will drop my wireless connection and the app will crash. Apps that don't require WiFi are unaffected. I rebooted my iPod touch and they began to work, but now, they do not work any more. Any ideas?

    Second Gen iPod Touch?
And have you restored your device from iTunes or just rebooted it from the device?

i also have the same problem, i came across this topic hoping to find an answer. luckily i had just solved my problem. this happened to me twice... i resolved the first problem by restoring to factory setting which is not a good solution cause all my FREE downloaded apps were erased too. so i have to download again.... lately it happened again.. same problem.. but i have resolved it by updating my ups in app store... HOPE this wont happen again.... cause its really bothersome since there arent so many wifi spots here... programs i had are mostly free so maybe its one reason for this problem.... the last app i used b4 the problem was a pdf viewing app... hope this helps...

  • IPod touch slider won't open

when ever i try to open my ipod touch the slider wont slide?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!

First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."

Macafee security center is may be the culprit.
    Open Macafee then: select;
    Internet & Network > configure
    Firewall > Advanced
Programm Permissions > scroll down to Itunes
    Highlight (click on)
Then Grant full access to Itunes.
    APPLY then OK
When you select store from Itunes you will need to register with Itunes.
    Try that or:
    Disable your firewall.

  • IPod Touch 4G - Cannot Connect to iTunes Store from AppStore App

I have three iPod Touch 4G in the house. All running 5.1.1 iOS. Mine (that I use everyday, can access the App Store and Updates just fine. My wife's iPod (which hasn't been used for a few weeks) cannot access the App Store, Updates without the error "Cannot Cannect to iTunes Store". Both are using the same network router on WiFi. Both have internet access and I can browse on both just fine. All other functions of the App Store app work fine EXCEPT Updates.
She did have 7 updates initially and I went to iTunes under Apps and UPDATED them all with an exception, one of them downloaded but failed to show "downloaded" it still says "update" on a little tag. This makes me think that something is "stuck" in queue within iTunes Store for that account.
I have tried EVERY fix mentioned that I can find and this simply makes no sense.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

Actually this was solved. I found a thread that detailed what to do to fix it and it worked for me.
Essentially, double-click the main button and shut down the App Store (if running)
Go to "Settings", "General" and "Date & Time"
Change the date (turn OFF "Automatic") to WAY in the future (like 2025)
Then back out of settings by using the button in the upper left (so settings are saved)
Now, open the App Store and click quickly on something OTHER than Updates
Now click on Updates - you should get a security warning
Without closing the App Store, go back to Settings, General, Date & Time and set the date back to "Automatic"
Again, back out of the settings to save the date information
Now go back to the App Store and it should load the Updates tab properly. You may need to re-enter credentials.
That fixed it for me. Thanks to HOLEPUNCH for the fix.

  • Safari won't open at all. Please help!

Hi, lately my safari has been acting weird. It started when it won't click on links (nothing happens when I click them)and now safari itself won't open anything (no windows, no nothing) at all, so right now I'm on another computer. I went to safari help and I tried their suggestions ( restart computer, update safari software, check disk utility, resetting safari...)except reinstalling Mac OS X, because I cant find my mac dvd and I want to avoid doing that. To prove that safari is not working I click on the apple menu > mac os x software and then this pops up " The application safari quit unexpectedly...click relaunch to launch the application again. click report to see more details or send a report to apple." So I click "report" and a big list of gibberish shows up and gets sent to apple, but nothing happens. This has been going on for 24 hours now, so I need someones help! Please help me! Thanks.

    HI and welcome..
Open a Finder window. Select MacintoshHD in the Sidebar on the left. Now open the Library folder, the Input Managers folder, the Scripting Additions folder, and the Application Support folder.
If you see any files related to the CTLoader / Toolbar, move them to the Trash.
This thread an help you find those files. http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=12158485&#12158485

If nothing above has helped, if Safari has just crashed, press the Report button on the CrashReporter dialog box to view the crash information.
Now copy/paste the entire contents of the Crash Reporter window into your reply here. If the crash report dialog does not appear or the crash is hard to reproduce, crash logs can be retrieved from the ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter> folder.

  • Safari Won't Open Apple Store's Web Site

I tried to go to Apple Store using Safari and wasn't able to get the page to load. I'd get the spinning beach ball every time. I disabled all plugins, input managers, turned off RSS support, tossed the Safari preferences, emptied the cache and cookies . . . nothing worked. I finally turned of Javascript under the Security preferences, and now all is fine. I put everything back in place, still, all is fine. As a final test, I turned on Javascript . . . got the spinning beach ball ! Seems ironic that Apple's browser can't even work on their own website.

A couple of things you can try:
    - Empty the Safari caches in case it's attempting to load bad cached JavaScript information (Safari menu -> Empty Cache...) or reset Safari completely (remember to turn off the reseting of your passwords if you try this or you'll lose all the saved items)
    - Try Safari in another user account. This will help us to know whether your problem is local to your account or system wide. If you don't have another account you can use System Preferences -> Accounts -> \[+\] to create a test one (and \[-\] to remove it if needed)
