IPhone not syncing all exchange calendar events

I'm having some issues with an iPhone running iOS 5.0.1 sycing with an SBS 2008 / Exchange 2007 server.
Email and contacts sync fine without any issues. Calendar seems to be syncing fine but is missing out some events. I have tried to look at what events are not syncing to see if there is a pattern, but it is very random and nothing that links the events in any way.
I have tried deleting the exchange account from the phone and re-adding it and have also tried adding the account on a completley different phone and it still only syncs the same calendar events, missing out a few events.
I have looked in outlook on the users computer and the events show fine. Also logged in to outlook web access and it shows the events in there without a problem.
Does anybody have any ideas as to what could be causing this?

We've found, too, that the type of calendar item can make a difference..as an example, a changed instance of a recurring appointment can be a problem..it has to do with the way Exchange handles them...their suggestion is if you have an appointment that is say, every Monday all year, at 900am, but sometimes it changes to 930, and sometimes say, to 830, you need to make 52 individual appointments rather that 1 52 instance recurring appointment...not a very attractive option.  The other thing that can make a difference if is an appointment has any attachments..first, the attachment can change frequently, leading to possible consistency issues that way, and second, the size of the attachment can make the Exchange client on the iOS device "choke"...also, users need to accept every invitation they see..if they delete 1 invitation, or if a delegate deletes one invitation the item will drop off of the calendar.....also, you want to minimize the number of delegates..thexe things are summarized in a couple of best practices documents Microsoft has published...

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/899704/
Also, I let users know that they want to minimize the number of instances of mail clients running against exchange Server...the more clients, particularly mobile devices, the more they are looking for trouble.

  • IPhone not syncing all events & some undeletable

    Hello,
I'm helping my Dad with a problem he's having with iCal. Since I updated his iPhone 3g to 4.0, his phone & iCal aren't syncing properly. Some events aren't syncing to iCal on his iMac yet they are undeletable on his phone.
After searching these forums, I find that he's not the only one with this problem, however, none of the other threads are resolved so I'm bringing it up again in the hopes that someone has figured this out.
By the way, he's got a simple sync: iMac (running 10.5.8) to iPhone 3g running (4.whatever is current -I just ran the latest updates this afternoon when I was over there), no 3rd party calendars or mobile me with which to contend.
This afternoon I tried all the tricks I could think of or find here; reset sync history, turned off sync calendars in iTunes/then turned them back on, ran iCalDupeDeleter, threw away the cache & preference files as directed in another thread...
Thought I had it at one point when one of the erroneous files was gone after one of the syncs... just as I was about to announce my victory, it reappeared on the phone before my eyes, yet still doesn't sync or appear in iCal on the computer.
Over the weekend I've got to try exporting then reimporting each of his calendars & checking to make sure nothing is listed under "Birthday" in Address Book.
    Any ideas?

I'm a "me, too" on this, and it does seem to be an issue with iOS4, the latest update in particular. Everything was fine between my iPhone 3GS, MobileMe, and my iMac running the latest OS. I was thrilled, since I switched from a Palm Centro that gave me fits over syncing the things I needed, since I'm not in an office all day and do some traveling. It was great, but now I have duplicates and missing events. My iMac has the correct information, usually, but the phone is missing some and has lots of duplicates... what gives? Guess we're all pleading for a solution here.

  • ICloud will not sync contacts and calendar events from my iPhone to my macbook pro.

Only a few contacts are displayed on my Macbook and no calendar events are displayed. Any suggestions?

Check that you have entered the information into an iCloud group and not an On My Mac group, only information in iCloud groups will sync.

  • Razr Maxx Calendar will not sync with Exchange Calendar

My Thunderbolt synced fine....just switched to the Razr Maxx Friday and the Calendar will not sync with my Exchange Calendar. Email and contacts are syncing fine.

I guess I'm screwed.  My Razr HD calendar won't sync with Google - apparently all my events were on the phone calendar and not Googe calendar.  After following prior posts, I cleared the data on my phone's calendar - now my events are gone and I don't know when my next appointments are.  Any way to retrieve that data?  Any way to sync the two calendars - or to make sure the darn appointments are placed on the Google calendar and not the stupid phone calendar?
You have to select the Google/Gmail account as the location where to save the event. In the screen where you are adding the info to create the event there is a spot for choosing which calendar to save it to. This is where you pick the Gmail calendar.

  • ICloud not syncing Contacts or Calendar events on iOS 5 devices after MobileMe migration

On either of my devices (iPhone 4 and iPad 2) I cannot get my contacts or calendar events to appear correctly, both devices crash the contacts or calendars apps when I access them.
I first upgraded to ios5 and iTunes 10.5 (Which bricked my iPhone 5 times in a row with error 3012)
I then migrated from MobileMe to iCloud and all of my Contacts/Calendars are appearing correctly online at iCloud.com.  However my iPhone 4 and iPad 2 will simply refuse to sync with the contacts and calendars...
My iPhone and iPad literally freeze when I try disable the iCloud services, I have restored both devices numberous times and started the iCloud service in MANY different steps.  I have even used both my mac and PC to restore my devices.
I have been trying to fix this for two days now, I am extremely disapointed with iCloud, and I sorely wished I had of stayed with my MobileMe service.  I initally thought this would be server contact issues, but there HAS to be something wrong with my devices, or sync services.
Surely other users have encounted this error, I would love to know the strategies used to resolve this.

I thought I might post here and update my solution thus far..
    1. Restored my iPhone 4 and iPad 2, and did not select iCloud.
    2. iCloud working fine on the macbook pro, so I exported my contacts from iCloud to the vCards.
    3. Turned icloud contacts off on my macbook pro (iCloud calendars remained on)
    4. Synced iPhone 4 and iPad 2 with my macbook pro
    5. now my iOS 5 devices sync my contacts and calendar locally with my macbook pro
    6. Turned on iCloud only for my email, notes and documents.
Word to the wise: Stay clear of iCloud, WAY too many issues, especially for MobileMe migration customers.

  • IPhone not syncing all pictures

I've been having this problem for awhile now & thought it had something to do with the iPhone 4 because I didn't have this issue when I had the iPhone 3GS.  When I try to sync all photos including videos into my iPhone - about 4,900, only about 4,200 would be transferred.  Also, not all "Faces" appear on the iPhone.  I've been waiting for a fix but it's been almost a year.  Is anyone else experiencing this?  If so, has anyone found a solution for it?  I've done the following:
    1. Restored my iPhone to default settings
    2. Deleted & reinstalled iTunes app to latest version
    3. Deleted & reinstalled iPhoto app to latest version
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks!

For the calendar issue: on your phone go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars...scroll down to the Calendars section and tap Default calendar.  What calendars are listed there and what have you selected as your default calendar?
For the photos issue: try going to Settings>iCloud>Photo Stream and turn photo stream to Off.  Then reset your phone by holding the on/off and home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo (ignore the off slider that appears first), then release and wait for it to restart.  (You won't lose any data by doing this.)  When it has restarted go back and turn photo stream on again, take a new picture, close the camera app, make sure your phone and iPad are connected to wifi and wait 5 minutes or so to see if it syncs to your iPad this time.

  • IPhone not syncing all of music.

I have a 16gb iPhone 3Gs that I only use as an iPod now. I have recently been buying some new music on it and trying to sync it up and first I noticed my playlists werent syncing up. Now I do have SEVERAL songs that need to be "located" which is not big deal but most of these songs on my playlists were just bought on itunes and they are not syncing either. So then I go to all the music and notice that not even half have synced. I have almost 2000 songs in my library but only about 400 something synced. I know I do not have that much music that needs to be "located" and like I said, a lot of it is new and has been bought from iTunes and it wasnt there either. I'm not sure what I am doing wrong. Could someone please give me a little bit of insight.

    Anyone?? Please help!!

  • Mail (Yosemite) not syncing all Exchange mails

I tried hard it convert from Outlook 2011 to shiny Mail. For me a disaster. Here are my problems with it:
Mail does not receive all mails. Some are just left out. There seems not to be any rule. Even syncing doesn't change a thing. Some mails stay at the server.
I send a mail and need the sent mail. I only find this in my Sent folder after a minimum of 15 minutes. Sometimes it takes more than an hour. Syncing or re-starting Mail didn't poke Mail to get these quicker from the server.
Although the receiving is set to be checked "automatically", it takes up to five minutes to get a new mail after it arrived on the server.
All the above don't happen with Outlook. Running both applications in parallel will always lead to MS gets the newly arriving mail first. Even a mail sent from Mail appears immediately in Outlook's Sent folder. When you are really a fan you may get around with these two. But not receiving some mails is a no go.

Sometimes this issue is caused by a misconfiguration or incompatibility of the Exchange server, or perhaps by a bug in Mail. If so, you won't be able to resolve it yourself. The fact that your iOS devices may be working well with the same account isn't relevant, because iOS uses a completely different protocol (ActiveSync) to communicate with Exchange servers. By default, OS X Mail uses the EWS protocol.
Each of the following steps has been reported to help with Exchange issues, at least temporarily, in some cases:
    1. Back up all data. Open the Internet Accounts pane in System Preferences and check to make sure you don't have duplicate Exchange accounts. If you do, delete all but one of the duplicates. If there are no duplicates, delete the account and recreate it with the same settings.
    2. Rebuild the affected mailbox.
    3. Reindex messages.
    4. Follow the instructions in this support article to disable autodiscovery. You may need to get configuration details from the server administrator.
    5. In the Keychain Access application, delete the password item for the account. The next time Mail tries to access the account, you'll be prompted for the password. Check the box to save it in the Keychain.
    6. If you've created subfolders of the Exchange inbox, log in to the server through its web interface, move the messages out, and remove the subfolders. The inbox should have no subfolders.
    7. Synchronize with the server using IMAP rather than EWS. This is only possible if IMAP is enabled on the server.
    8. Consider using Outlook instead of Mail to access your Exchange mail.

  • Calendar entries on iphone not syncing with outlook calendar

Items that I entered on my iphone calendar are not syncing with my outlook calendar on my office pc.  Outlook entries are appearing on iphone calendar, however.  Used to work, now doesn't.  Recently updated iphone software.  Could this be the problem?

i had same problem. everything worked fine backing up iphone to macbook pro and Ical until IOS 5 upgrade, then selective entries on Iphone wouldn't backup to Ical despite repeated attempts. I did what you did, turned off calander iCloud feature so it backs up only to MacBook and it seems to have solved problem.

  • IPhone not syncing all music

I recently got iTunes Match and don't understand why I can't have it enabled and sync all of the selected music I wanted. All of my music appears to be availible in the cloud as I have the option to download on my phone over WiFi which would take forever. I have tried manually syncing my music and I selected all of my playlists and only ten or less songs are syncing to the phone after sync is "completed." I have tried this with iTunes Match on and off on my phone. I'm frustrated because I got an iPhone so that this process would be easy. Any help would be appreciated.

Called Apple, somehow most of the songs on my iTunes got "unchecked" and only the few "checked" songs that were left were syncing onto my iPhone.

  • IPhone not syncing all my photos

    Hello all,
For the past many years I've kept a very large photo album in my iphoto library that contains graphic design inspiration.  As of now it is is nearly 7000 photos and has never had a poblem syncing to my phone.  I add to it daily and try to resync my phone every few days.
Earlier this week I went in to browse though the album to find a few files and realized that the full album hadn't been synced over to my phone.  I reconnected to itunes and tried to resync with no luck.  Then I went into the photo tab and told the phone to stop syncing photos, applied the change, and then told it to sync again. it deleted the photos (as I thought it would).  Then I turned syncing back on and selected the correct library/album.  Interestingly enough, it synced less photos than before.
Any idea on what is going on?  I'm on an iphone 5 and ios7.  Thanks!

I am having the same problem. I have never had an issue before, but after updating to iOS 7 on my iPhone 4s (32GB), I am unable to sync all of my photos to my iPhone from Aperture. I have 5448 photos in Aperture. iTunes recognizes this number, but when I try to sync, it says copying xx of 3661 (assuming I've removed all photos from my iPhone, and am retrying to sync).
I have tried reformatting my phone, deleting the iPod Photo Cache folder inside the Aperture library package, but nothing seems to work.
    I'm running iOS 7.0.4 on the iPhone 4s (32gb) and iTunes 11.1.3 (8) on a Macbook Pro Retina 13".
    Any other suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Christian

  • Iphone not syncing all outlook events

    hi,
so my boss has an iphone that isn't syncing some appointments or changes to his outlook calendar.  this happens randomly and intermittantly.  when another person on the same server adds or invites to an appointment, his Mac will show it but it doesn't show on his phone.  another instance was when his assistant changed an appointment on his calendar (via her computer PC) and it again showed up on his Mac but not on his iPhone.  mail days to sync setting is set to "No Limit" and the calendar sync setting is set to sync events 6 months back.  please help!!!

  • IPhone not syncing with Exchange server

I'm having an issue with IOS 5.1.1.  Since Monday, my iPhone is downloading emails from my Exchange (outlook) account like it always has, the problem is, when I delete an email in Outlook, it's not deleting from my phone.  Similarly, reading an email in Outlook doesn't mark it as "read" on my phone.  This leaves me at the end of the day with hundreds of unread/extraneous emails on my phone that I have already addressed, filed or deleted in Outlook.  How do I correct this?
This is weird because it has worked correctly with everything syncing properly up until this week, and I did not update anything.
I'm using a PC for the Outlook - same PC as always, and no updates unless my company updated something remotely without my knowledge.
I have set up my email account using the "Exchange" option when I added it.  Already tried deleting and re-adding the account (twice).
    Thank you!

As I had said in my earlier post, my problem was with outlook being slow in updating exchange.
However, this does not explain your symptoms with OWA.
When I used OWA, the "state" seen by OWA and the iPhone matched (what was read, was read; what was not, was not).  However, Outlook (in my case, Outlook on the Mac - Office 2011) was way behind in updating this state.  If you read something in Outlook, it could take a very long time to reflect this state back to the Exchange Server.
Part of the reason for this was that I had a lot of stuff, both in my inbox and in my deleted mail.  I had to clear this out to allow Outlook on the Mac to perform at all well.
Are you sure that OWA is aligned with Outlook?  OWA is a direct view into the server state, and should match server state.  Outlook and the iPhone mail app are accessing the server, and have the opportunity (at least) to not show the current state of the server (bugs, delays, performance, etc).
If OWA and Outlook are really correctly in sync, and it has to be an Apple problem or a problem in the exchange server interface Apple is using.  But this was not my experience.

  • IPhone not syncing all iPhoto pix even though Gigs of space left on iPhone?

    Hello,
    I have a 16GB iPhone.
    My iPhoto Library is 2.5GB.
I've "albumed" all my photos in iPhoto.
When syncing my iPhone I've only selected a couple of albums (no more than about 2GB's worth).
For some reason, my iPhone won't accept all the pictures I have selected, even though their collective size is far less than the capacity of the phone. Some of the pictures have loaded but when I try and sync again, I get an error message stating, "No photos were copied to the iPhone because there is not enough free space on the iPhone to hold your photos and albums"....even though according to iTunes own "Capacity Bar", I still have 1.75GB of free space left on my iPhone.
Now, here's something else that is weird that I don't understand.
    My iPhoto library is 2.5GB.
My iTunes "Capacity Bar" says that the partial amount of photos that I've already synced from iPhoto to my iPhone is 11.62GB?
How can that be? How can the same amount of pictures be 2.5GB on my computer and 11.62GB on my iPhone?
Can anybody explain this to me?
    Am I missing something?
    Thanks,
    Justin

I'm having a similar problem, I have 70MB of memory remaining, which I know isn't a lot, but I have less than 1 MB of photos I'm trying to sync, and it refuses to let me have them. I can put a 50 MB app on at this point with no problem, but this 1MB of photos keeps hitting some kind of wall.
