IPhone4 with Win7 OS - Can you config the photo stream directory?

Hi Group-
I'm on an iPhone4 iOS5 with Win7. I am pulling my hair out and have been ever since I purchased the phone on how to manage my photos? The Albums feature does not seem to help either. I have several questions about Photos but I'll limit to my title. Here is my situation:
1.) I have Win7 with a custom MyPictures library location on my D:\ partition. I have Adobe running and that plus my iPhone and iTunes backups ***** to much disk space away from my 100Gb partition I made for my C:\ drive. My goal is to get all my pictures on my D:\ drive and then use a tool like MS SyncTool to backup all my pics and movies to my NAS external backup storage.
2.) I just found a directory on my C:\ drive under this path "C:\Users\phoenix\Pictures\Photo Stream\My Photo Stream\" ... I'm a PC tech and I'm almost embarassed to ask, what configured that directory? I have iCloud (yes, I'm a loyal MAC and .ME customer) and it's turned on so it should be pushing or "streaming" my pics. Is the path I referenced a default one? Where or can it be changed? I'd really like it on my bigger D:\ partition.
IMHO iCloud compared to .ME seems a bit limited for services, no web, no picture galleries, etc. Someone @ Apple in Marketing got a raise for saving bandwidth for Apple I suppose. 1000 internet points for extra RTM links or PhotoStream nfo feedback, please advise, thx!

I found this on the Apple website:
Master photo library. On your Mac or PC.
Keeping a complete set of your photos on your Mac is as simple as turning on Photo Stream in iPhoto or Aperture. Every new photo you take appears in a Photo Stream album just as it does on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. But since your Mac has more storage than your iOS device, it automatically imports every picture from your Photo Stream into your photo library so you can edit, delete, and share the ones you want. Want to get the photos you’ve taken on your point-and-shoot or DSLR camera into your Photo Stream to view on all your other devices? The photos you import to your library from a camera or SD card are automatically uploaded to your Photo Stream. If you have a PC, you can auto-import and upload pictures, too. Just turn on Photo Stream, grab a camera, and start shooting.

There's no way to delete all message threads at one go. You can however do one contact thread at a time.
In Messages app where you see a list of messages from different contacts,  tap Edit (top left), tap the red (on the left), then tap the red Delete button on the right.

Photostream is not a substitute for importing your photos to your computer.
How long are My Photo Stream photos stored in iCloud?
The photos you upload to My Photo Stream are stored in iCloud for 30 days to give your devices plenty of time to connect and download them."
ow many photos are stored in My Photo Stream on my devices and computers?
iCloud pushes all your photos to the My Photo Stream album on your devices and computers, and manages them efficiently, so you don’t run out of storage space.
Your iOS devices keep a rolling collection of your last 1000 photos in the My Photo Stream album.

  • Can you skip the photo page and have slideshow instead?

All of us have been looking for ways to cover up the download link on the photo page, or remove the subscribe link. I'm not all that happy with the fact that apple didn't change the layout on the photo page very much. The whole thumbnail thing really looks outdated, even with all the shading and border possibilities.
Has anyone figured out a way to bypass a photo gallery page, and go straight to the full screen slideshow? I would much rather have that as my default photo page.
    Thanks

1 - you can not change the photo frame size if that is what you are asking
2 - you can enlarge the photo within the frame by selecting it and using the slider above the frame
3 - you can use a different page layout -- or even theme -- see Liz Castro's web site for examples of all available layouts for each theme -- http://www.lizcastro.com/iphotobookthemes/

  • HT1229 How can you transfer the  photo library from  an iphone to a mac.

I have a photo library on my iphone which was synced to the iphone from my pc.  Now I have a mac laptop and I cannot figure out how to get the photo library onto my mac from the phone.  The photo stream has transferred over but none of my other albums.

If the photos are in your Camera Roll on the iPhone connect the iPhone to your Mac, launch iPhoto and import directly into your library on the Mac.

  • I can't get the photo stream to show all my photos

I appreciate if someone can help me to get all my pictures on my iPad from my photo stream

Only the photos that you took on the phone or the iPod after you turned on Photo Stream on the iPad will appear in the Photos Stream. That's what I'm saying.
It doesn't matter that you bought the phone and iPod at different times. You have obviously been using Photo Stream on both devices long enough to have the same number of Photos on each device. Since you just turned Photo Stream on in the iPad settings, you can only see the photos that you took with the phone or iPod since you turned it on.

  • I can't activate the Photo Stream

    Hi guys,
My photo stream was working just fine. I wanted to remove all pictures on the iPhone/iPad and deactivated the photo stream, which removes the pictures. I also deactivated it in the iCloud control panel on my PC. Now, I wanted to re-activate it. On the iPhone and iPad I turned photo stream back on. And when I opened the iCloud control panel, signed in again.... I cannot mark the check box next to photo stream and this feature is like "faded" out. What's the problem? I hope someone can help me with that.
    Thanks
    Guido

What version of iPhoto and of the OS? In the system preferences have you logged into iCloud and clicked PhotoStream?

Yes, but why would you want to? they don't take power, don't use data, and launch quicker if you don't close them. See: http://speirs.org/blog/2012/1/2/misconceptions-about-ios-multitasking.html

  • For iPhone4 with iOS7, how can i see the time of day for a voice memo instead of the length of time for the recording?

  • Can you turn the photos in a slideshow into a video clip?

I have a sequence of 80 or so photos that play very fast and create an animation.
Can I select all the photos and merge them together into a video clip so I can apply video effects and do a fade in for more than 2 frames?

Colin, will doing the method you described allow me to apply video effects to the photos as a whole group?
That's correct. The nested sequence essentially functions as one clip, so you can edit it, transform it, add effects or transitions, or do any other operation that you'd do on a single clip unit. For example, if you need to move your series of photos somewhere else in your sequence, you'd have to select all of them; if they're nested, you just have to click one big target to move them.
I think Craig (shooternz) misunderstood your question, and assumed you just wanted to fade up the first photo, but you're talking about fading up over a longer duration, and multiple images. He had the right answer to a different question

  • How can I remove the Photo Stream from my iPhone?

I enabled iCloud on my iPhone, then disabled it and can't get rid of Photo Stream under photos. Using iOS5.

This is covered in the manual.
iPhone User Guide (For iOS 4.2 and 4.3 Software)
Hold an icon until they all wiggle, then tap the "x" in the corner.

I created an iCloud account for my sons ipod tried to sign into the App Store and it just keeps coming up with unknown error can you help

Skip the iCloud sign in for now.
Once you reach the home page, go to settings and sign out of FaceTime and Messages.  This should also sign you out of iCloud.
Go to iCloud in settings and sign in with the correct Apple ID.
    If that does not work
    Skip the iCloud sign in
Go to Apple ID.apple.com and sign in
Change your Apple ID to the old one
Delete iCloud account on your device with the old Apple ID and the same password.
Go back to the website, change your Apple ID back to the current one. You will receive an email to verify the account. Verify first.
Sign into iCloud on your device with the correct Apple ID and password
