Iphoto greyed out when trying to upload photos to Facebook - Help!
As my title indicates, my iphoto is not accesible for uploading. Its not just Facebook, I tried uploading pictures to Shutterfly and the same thing happens. If I try to upload directly from iphotos none of the pictures are selectable. If I try to go to the shared folder and select pictures and then scroll down to iphoto library, it is greyed out and unselectable. I don't think that I have made any changes or done anything to cause this. Please Help! Also, I am relatively new to my mac. I know how to get around my everyday stuff, but I'm not a die hard user that knows all of the jargon and secret key functions, so please me very specific with any help you can give. Thank you!!!
I had this problem too.
What I ended up doing was going into iphoto preferences deleted the facebook account I had. This did end access to the albums that I did have previously but once I did that the facebook option was not greyed out anymore. When I choose the facebook sharing option, I did have to give iphoto my facebook login info but the sharing to facebook from with iphoto works fine now.
I bet the login info for facebook in iphoto got munged. It would be great if iphoto would prompt you to correct your facebook login if it is messed up, like they do for your mail accounts without having to delete your old account.

Hi everyone, I have been trying to upload my photos to my computer (iMac) for months so I can get them off my phone as I'm out of room. When I try to use either iphoto or preview, mostly I get it the spinning wheel. It stays like that for hours.On the rare occasion through preview, the photos have uploaded and I can save them one by one to a folder, but if I attempt to import all, it just freezes. I've tried restarting the computer and I have got everything stored on an external hard drive so the computers memory is just about the same free space wise as it came from the shop.

Error when trying to upload photos to facebook
hi, really need help,i keep having an issue with uploading pictures to Facebook on my blackberry 9320. Each time i try to upload it comes up with 'sorry we cannot reach Facebook server at this time' and gives me error code 100. I took the Facebook app out, restarted my phone took the battery out to reboot to see if this worked but im still getting the same issue. iv only had the phone 4 months and this is the 2nd time this has happened 2 me can any one please help?

Basically when trying to upload pictures to Facebook through iPhoto, the publish option is greyed out. I've tried signing out and signing back in, changing the Facebook password, removing the cache, and just restarting the computer. Next thing I can think of is reinstalling the operating system. Has anyone else had similar issues?

My computer freezes up when trying to upload photo book from iPhoto '11. This happens during the upload process.
When this happens I need to close down the computer and restart.
Any ideas ?

I recently had a 1 TB hard disc installed at the Apple store.can you preview it? -
Before ordering your book preview it using this method - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1040 - and save the resulting PDF for reference - the delivered book will match it.
If that works fine and you still have problems boot into safe mode and try again

Keep exiting to the menu itself (while pressing the camera roll button) when trying to upload photos in iMessages or Facebook.

iphoto keeps quitting unexpectedly when trying to share photos on Facebook.This only started a short while ago. I never used to have issues posting pictures before. Moreover, it also tells me there are issues with my library and prompts a "repair" of my iphoto library. This is scary - I have tons of pics and I'm not ready to lose any of them! I did change cameras a month ago, but it is the same make as I had before - a Canon powershot SX150 IS. Could it have anything to do with it? Could it be the fact that I keep so many pictures in iphoto (10,000 +)?
How to backup? You should be doing regular backups - if you are not you will lose all of yoru files and photos sooner or later
If you are not ready to lose all of your photos then you need to pruchase an external hard drive and start backing up immdeiately - for simplicity I recoommend a Time Capsule and Time Machine - but any backup is better than none - I do two daily
For this simply make a temporary copy of your iPhoto library

When trying to upload photos to various websites, Firefox brings up the pop up to view and select locations on your computer, but it never fully loads, it just kinda freezes, never allowing you to select files. I eventually get a 'This program is not responding' message and have to force close.
Second times a charm!!!
Maybe the link I had 1st time had a bug or something... I had installed it, restarted computer and all, exactly same process... and it had done nothing.
But download page wasn't the same. Real weird.
Good thing is, now it works!
So to anyone who has had same problem, tried the "patch download" solution and didn't have any success (like me previously - which is why I posted)... TRY AGAIN! The link above works!

Finally, I took your advice and backed-up my events and projects.
Trashed Final Cut Pro X
Downloaded a new copy from FCPX from the app store (from my previous purchases)
Restarted FCPX
Opened my event
Moved to the timeline - and now!
The SHARE tab works!
Every aspect of FCPX is working faster as well.
Go figure?

I do not remember seeing a designation format such as Adobe PEPE13 on any installation discs that I have ever purchased.
On the Premiere Elements 12 Windows label, it read

Let us try this...
a. On the computer desktop, how many Elements 13 icons do you have, one or two? And what are they?
b. If you go to Control Panel/Installed Programs, do you see a listing for Adobe Premiere Elements 13 and Adobe Premiere Elements 13?
Based on your prior replies, it appears that you have only Adobe Premiere Elements 13 installed. The installation disc that you used to install Adobe Premiere Elements 13 should also contain the installation files for Adobe Photoshop Elements 13. But, you do not see that opportunity when you insert the disc in the burn. Is that correct statement of the situation at this point?
Is there any chance that you could scan the label surface of that disc and post the scan as a jpg in your thread. Be sure that there is no serial number or other information like that included.

I was referred to this site when I got Fatal Error message Error code c0000005 while trying to upload photos to computer. Someone else asked the same question in this forum, 90 people viewed the question but it was never answered?
It looks to me like it is a problem on your Windows computer not being able to start an application. It may help if you know or can determine which program Windows is trying to open when you upload photos -- there can be many different ones and it can be set by the user. If you are using Windows 7, you may need to check your Autoplay settings. IPhoto goes black when trying to edit photos - help!
iPhoto has suddenly decided to go black screen (where the image should be) dark when trying to edit photos. Permissions are fine (read & edit) so that's not the issue (has been offered on mac forums as a solution to this problem in the past). I am on a MacBook pro 2.53 Ghz Core 2 Duo, 4GB 1067 MHz DDR3, NVIDIA GeForce 9400M 256 MB, running OS X Lion 10.7.4 (11E53).

1. Permissions in the Library: Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Include the option to check and repair permissions.
2. Minor Database corruption: Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild.
3. A Damaged Photo: Select one of the affected photos in the iPhoto Window and right click on it. From the resulting menu select 'Show File (or 'Show Original File' if that's available). (On iPhoto 11 this option is under the File -> Reveal in Finder.) Will the file open in Preview? If not then the file is damaged. Time to restore from your back up.
4. A corrupted iPhoto Cache: Trash the com.apple.iPhoto folder from HD/Users/Your Name/Library/ Caches...
5. A corrupted preference file: Trash the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder. (Remember you'll need to reset your User options afterwards. These include minor settings like the window colour and so on. Note: If you've moved your library you'll need to point iPhoto at it again.)
If none of these help:
As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there? -

Being new to the mac world (VERY new... I just bought my computer on Friday), I am already having problems with uploading photos. I uploaded everything from my digital camera fine, but then when I tried to upload my Easter pictures, everything freezes and I am forced to quit the application. Apples help line of closing at 6pm pacific time is not helping my matter. Can any one help me??
Thank you!Your photos are safe inside the iPhoto Library package. You may be able to recover them by on of these ways:
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys depressed and follow the instructions to rebuild the library. Select the first three options.
2 - rebuild the library using iPhoto Library Manager as follows:

1 -Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 -Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your User/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File->Rebuild Library menu option
4 - In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: It may take some time to create the new library if you have a lot of photos. Report back on how long it took and how many photos you have in the library so we can give other users an idea of how long it may take.
3 - start over with a new library and import the Originals folder from your original library as follows:
Creating a new library while preserving the Events from the original library.
Move the existing library folder to the desktop.
Open the library package like this.
Launch iPhoto and, when asked, select the option to create a new library.
Drag the Originals folder from the iPhoto Library on the desktop into the open iPhoto window.
This will create a new library with the same Events as the original library if you have the Finder checkbox unchecked in the Events preference pane.

I am trying to remove background sounds in a file using the Spectral Frequency display. The first edit on a new file, this process works fine:
1. use brush to cover sound
2. right click, learn sound model
3. effects/noise-reduction-restoration/Sound Remover
The next time I try to remove another sound in the file, "learn sound model" is greyed out. I have to close the file and reopen to be able to make another edit. What on earth is going on? Can it only learn one sound model or something?
I'm a newbie, so thanks in advance for your advice!My daughter has had her Razr for about 9 months now. About two weeks ago she picked up her phone in the morning on her way to school when she noticed two cracks, both starting at the camera lens. One goes completely to the bottom and the other goes sharply to the side. She has never dropped it and me and my husband went over it with a fine tooth comb. We looked under a magnifying glass and could no find any reason for the glass to crack. Not one ding, scratch or bang. Our daughter really takes good care of her stuff, but we still wanted to make sure before we sent it in for repairs. Well we did and we got a reply from Motorola with a picture of the cracks saying this was customer abuse and that it is not covered under warranty. Even though they did not find any physical damage to back it up. Well I e-mailed them back and told them I did a little research and found pages of people having the same problems. Well I did not hear from them until I received a notice from Fed Ex that they were sending the phone back. NOT FIXED!!! I went to look up why and guess what there is no case open any more for the phone. It has been wiped clean. I put in the RMA # it comes back not found, I put in the ID #, the SN# and all comes back not found. Yet a day earlier all the info was there. I know there is a lot more people like me and all of you, but they just don't want to be bothered so they pay to have it fix, just to have it do it again. Unless they have found the problem and only fixing it on a customer pay only set up. I am furious and will not be recommending this phone to anyone. And to think I was considering this phone for my next up grade! NOT!!!!
