  • What version of iPhoto supports raw files for canon 6d

what version of iPhoto supports raw files for canon 6d? I am running iMac 24-inch with OSX-10.6.8 and iPhoto 7.x, and can't read these files....looking for least upgrade which will enable me to read them.  Thx - //Spud

Not sure what the oldest version is but Mavericks with iPhoto 9.5.1 does - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5955?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
Google may help you go backwards if you do not want to upgrade to Mavericks

  • Does iPhoto 6 support RAW files?

Seems that some of my RAW images are not importing into iPhoto 6. They are taken with the Panasonic Lumix L1 SLR. So question is whether or not iPhoto supports RAW files, and is it specific to the camera model which might have its own proprietary RAW format? Am I better off with Aperture?
    Thanks

whether or not iPhoto supports RAW files<<<</div>
    Yes.
is it specific to the camera model which might have its own proprietary RAW format<<<</div>
Yes. Apparently, Panasonic has chosen not to share its RAW format characteristics.
Am I better off with Aperture?<<<</div>
No. RAW support (or lack thereof) is system-wide.

  • Does iPhoto 11 support RAW files from Nikon D800?

Does iPhoto 11 support Raw files from a Nikon D800 or do I need to upgrade to Apeture? I am running 10.7.4. and currently use iPhoto '09

Aperature and iPhoto use the same RAW support - you probably need to upgrade to iPhoto '11  - purchase from the App store, backup your iPhoto library and upgrade - the RAW support list is here

  • Why won't Aperture 2 support RAW files imported from Canon 60D when it does from my Olympus DSLR?

Why won't Aperture 2 support RAW files imported from Canon 60D when it does from my Olympus DSLR?

I'm afriad the fact that your Olympus dSLR is supported is no relevance.
The Raw from every model of camera is different. Note: that's every model not every brand. So, the NEF produced by a Nikon D40 is not the same as the NEF produced by a D60, the CR2 produced by a Canon 350 is not the same as the CR2 produced by a Canon 400.
Support for individual camera models has to be added one by one, and Apple will update the OS to work with the most recent version of the software. That's an incentive for you to keep up-to-date. So, for support for your 60D you'll need 10.6.5 plus Aperture 3 and/or iPhoto 11.

  • Can iPhoto process RAW files?

Love to shoot digital photos.  Can iPhoto process RAW files without conversion to JPEG or problems?
Or do I need to purchase Aperture?
Running OSX 10.6.8   2.66 GHZ Intel Duo Core  8 Gigs RAM only--enough for using Aperture?

iPhoto, yes Aperture, yes.  Read here > iPhoto '11: Edit RAW-format photos
But the minimum requirements for iPhoto 11 and Aperture are OS X v10.7.5.
You would have to upgrade to v10.7 Lion in order to run either iPhoto or Aperture.
Lion can be purchased from Apple Customer Support at 800-767-2775.
OR, if your Mac meets v10.8 Mountain Lion requirements >  System requirements for OS X Mountain Lion
You can upgrade directly from v10.6.8 to v10.8 Mountain Lion. iPhoto and Aperture both are compatible with v10.8.
Instructions for upgrading to Mountain Lion v10.8 >  Apple - Upgrade your Mac to OS X Mountain Lion.

  • Is there a update for Photoshop Elements 8 that will support raw files from a Canon T3i 600d?

Is there a update for Photoshop Elements 8 that will support raw files from a Canon T3i 600d?

    You have two alternatives:
    (1) Upgrade to PSE 9,10 or 11. (2) Download and install the free Adobe DNG converter to convert your raw files to the Adobe universal Raw format and the files will open in all versions of PSE (keep your originals as backups and for use in the camera manufactures software)
Windows download click here DNG Converter 7.3
Mac download click here DNG Converter 7.3
You can convert a whole folder of raw images in one click. See this quick video tutorial:

  • Camera RAW does NOT yet support raw files for the new  Canon Sureshot S95

Camera RAW does NOT yet support raw files for the new
    Canon Sureshot S95.
Adobe, please can you provide an update asap

    Hello!
I think that you need to be patient.
There has not been any release of Camera Raw since the release of the camera.
I recommend to try the next version once it will be released, as there might be preliminary support (and therefore not listed).
Usually, Adobe is amongs the firsts to support a new camera.
Even though the Camera Raw team is fielded with wonderful coders, I do not think that they do have a time machine to allow support before they have their hands on a camera

  • Does elements 13 support raw files

    ?

Yes it does support raw files BUT if it supports your raw files depends on which camera created the raw files.
Here is the list of cameras supported

Tell us your make and model and we may be able to confirm support for that camera.

  • Does Photoshop Elements support raw files from the Panasonic GH3 camera?

Does Photoshop Elements support raw files from the Panasonic GH3 camera?

Yes, if you have PSE 11 (not the mac app store version). You will need to go to Help>Updates in the editor to update ACR to 7.3.

  • Aperture does not support raw files from my Leica d-lux 6.

When will Aperture support RAW files from a Leica d-lux 6?

You can download a free copy of Adobe DNG Converter. You then can use this program to convert the D Lux RAW files into DNG RAW files. Aperture will be able to read the DNG files. This is a bit of pain but it will work until Apple supports the D Lux in its usual glacial time span.

  • Lightroom not supporting Raw files from Nikon D5200

hi only new here ,has any one else found this problem ,just bought the Nikon D5200 and i always shot in RAW but have now found after my first shot with the new camera that Lightroom 4.3 wont support Raw Files from this camera

    Yes it does.
    See here: http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html
Scroll down to Nikom (it goes alphabetically by vamera makers), tne D5200 is listed as being supported in Lr 4.3.
What does Lr say? Do you get an error message?
Also, did you use an older version of Nikon Transfer or Niko n View? There is something in these older versions that makes the files not readable for Lr.
Update any Nikon software you might have.

  • Does Elements 12 support Raw files from Nikon D610

Does Elements 12 support Raw files from Nikon D610

Yes, as long as you update your camera raw plug-in (ACR) to version 8.3 using Help / Updates… in the PSE Editor.

  • Lightroom 3 does NOT support raw files for the  Canon Sureshot S95

Have just bought the new Canon Sureshot S95
after contacting Adobe support I am told Lightroom 3 does NOT support raw files for the
    Canon Sureshot S95.
Come on Adobe.....please provide an update asap.

    (1) Well Boss I did what you said and used Canon DPP to convert to TIFFs. Choices are 8-bit TIFF or 16-bit TIFF - I chose 16-bit because part (90% part) of the reason for wanting to work in RAW is to keep the bit depth of teh original. On my EOS 40D it is supposedly 14 bits, which gives great scope to play with the levels & curves without seeing poster effects. If I choose 16 bit TIFF then each S95 image becomes a 70MB file, parallel to my JPEG and RAW.  Hardly a satisfactory solution.
(I realise, however, that I don't actually know the bit depth of the S95 RAW file - anybody? ).
    (2) SUGGESTION-  even if you are adding S95 support to the next update (which I dearly hope), be kinder to those with new cameras in general and allow LR to import JPEGs if it cannot import the RAWs (overriding if necessary the 'ignore JPEG' preference setting).  I am sure users with that preference would still prefer a JPEG than no picture at all!
Since I discovered this compatibility problem, I switched the camera to record RAW+JPEG*. To my great irritation LR3 ignores the JPEGs even though it cannot load the RAWs.  So if I want to import from one supported camera (EOS40D) and one unsupported camera (S95) I have to keep going into preferences to switch on and off the 'ignore JPEG' function.

    *  (this seems to be a setting that needs doing in the various different modes of the camera, by the way).
