Ipod 2nd generation is stuck on a screen with the image os a usb and an arrow pointing at Itunes. Whenerver I try to connect to Itunes the computer requests me to enter my password onto my ipod but due to the frozen screen I cannot. Please help

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

Hi, I was backing up my iPad 2 and it gave me an error message. Since then, my iPad has been dead or should I say, STUCK. The screen shows the iTunes image with an image of a USB cable under it with an arrow pointing towards the iTunes icon. I haven't been able to get it to unfreeze and when I connect it to iTunes, iTunes doesn't give me the option to Sync or Restore. It actually just goes into the iTunes Store section and I can't access the part I need. Please help! Thank You!!!!!
You may need to put the iPad in recovery mode to restore it.

I just bought my iphon last night & tried doing it`s first update this morning. I got an error message that the update failed & now my iphone only shows a pic of a usb cable with an arrow pointing to the itunes logo.
I already tried holding down the on off buton & the home button like the instructions say. Problem is that when the instructions say I should be at the part where itunes is again recognizing my iphone, my itune is not recognizing my iphone. So I am stuck. I follow the instrustions, but the resluts are different, so I can`t continue to the next step. Very frustrated, as the nearest Apple store is over an hour`s drive away.Open iTunes on computer. Connect iPhone to computer. Hold both home and power buttons until iTunes recognizes iPhone in Recovery Mode. Usually takes about 20 seconds of holding both buttons. Restore the Firmware. If the process Errors again, write down the error message and error #, on paper so you can solve the problem. If there are serious problems, all iPhone 4S have full warranty coverage with Apple.

My 8yr old daughter has for some inexplicable reason decided to enter a password onto her iPod but forgot to write it down- says she didn't realised the importance( what have i spawned ?)
This will teach us to buy nice expensive presents for xmas- she's managed to crack the screen and now she's locked herself out of the iPod...!!!! what ever next , is there anyway of sorting this- to one and all.

One racked off DaddyYes every tome you have connected the iPod to the computer it has made a backup. So you press backup or restore and at the end iTunes ask you if you want to define the iPod as a new one or if you want to restore it from the backup which you've made at the (date).
And there you can choose what you want.
The password should be deleted on both ways -

Download RecBoot and see if you can kick it out of recovery mode.

It worked for a day but now when I try to charge it, it keeps switching back and forth from the large full screen icon of a low battery and a lighting bolt below to the blue screen with the apple symbol in the middle. I used to be able to download temple run onto my iPod 2nd generation. I then had to restore the iPod but now I can't re-download temple run onto it. It says you need a higher ios number. This is the same with many other apps as well and not just temple run. Is there anything I can do to get them back?
So, you need an older version of the iOS app, because the current version no longer works on your iPod touch.
If you do regular backups of your hard drive (as you should), such as by using Apple's built-in Time Machine (if you use a Mac), you may find the older version of the app in the backup archive, and restore it (replacing the newer version). They are stored in the iTunes Media folder, in the Mobile Applications sub-folder. You should then be able to sync the older version to your iPod touch.
I can't think of any other way to get it back...
NOTE: An 2nd gen iPod touch can run up to iOS 4.2.1. If your iPod touch is running something earlier, and that is why the app no longer works, you can also consider updating the iPod's iOS.
I use an even older iPhone (original). I avoid this potential problem by aways updating its apps on the iPhone, not in iTunes on the computer. When I do it on the iPhone, it will not download a newer version of an app that won't run on my old iPhone. -
i have ipod 2nd generation 32 gb and i had reset > Erase All Content and Settings it is longer than 3 hrs it is still showing apple logo and blink like if it will restart but again it shows the same logo!! is it all right with the erasing...??? i am confused!!
For a 1G and 2G it can take hours. Make sure it is connected to a charging source otherwise the battery can fully drain before it is done. If still problem

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

okay so i habe this ipod 2nd generation i actually have two and they are both doing the same thing at first i plug them in and the only thing that comes up is the do not disconeect screen but after a while oh fiddling with it i got the screen to go away and i can se my music and videos and i can see that my battery is full now the moment i unplugg either ipod they automatically freeze, the backlight goes out then the screen eventually fades completely away. now while this is happening none of the bottons works and the ipods are not able to be turned on or play at all almost as if there dead. but they are not becuase as soon as i plug them back in everything shows up perfect the battery is fully charged the backlight is on and the butttons work. help please
Sounds like your battery is not taking a charge, I know it shows full with you plug it in. Try plugging it into a wall socket for a few hours and see if the iPod will work on battery power.

i have installed the ipod, and i am able to transfer my songs into my ipod 2nd generation, however i am not able to see the list of songs that i have put into the actual ipod shuffle. Can someone please help me !
thanksno, there is contents. i just figured it out.
to recap: i had 2 problems: one was that i couldn't see the contents of the shuffle. the other was that i couldn't eject my shuffle. when i tried to eject, i kept getting the message that i couldn't eject because an application was using the files on the ipod. when i clicked the icon of my shuffle i got the picture of the ipods with the heading "ipod + itunes," as i recall. there were no settings or content tabs.
now i realize there were no tabs because i had not finished the registration of the shuffle on my pc. i had registered the shuffle on the website without using itunes. i didn't realize that there was more i needed to do in itunes because i couldn't see all of the buttons in my window. when i followed through with the registration in itunes all the way to the end, the 2 tabs were revealed and the songs that i had already loaded on the shuffle were listed in "contents." and, i was able to eject the shuffle. apparently itunes (or whatever) was still looking for a completed registration and wouldn't release the shuffle. sigh.
if you can not see the settings and contents tabs in itunes when you click your shuffle in devices or you can not eject the shuffle, look at the window with the picture of the ipods in itunes. there is more below. complete the registration (i had already done so on the web earlier, but my itunes was not complete.).
