IPod Touch 3G white screen after dropping, still works.

I dropped my iPod Touch 3G a few days ago and it fell out of my pocket and hit the ground on its corner. I tried to use it and saw that the entire screen was just white, but it was still functioning. Everything still works but the screen is just white. Would purchasing a new LCD from eBay repair this? Considering they are around 10$ only. Thanks for the help.

It might just be a software issue. Try #2 and #3 in link below. If neither work, you might need a screen.

  • 4th gen ipod touch has white screen

I have a 4th generation Ipod touch. The screen turned white all of a sudden for no reason. I've tried holding buttons letting it die and plugging it back in but the white screen is still there. It still makes noise. like the other day it was making a noise like someone was calling it. Then if I press the sleep/wake button and home button it takes a picture and I can hear the noise but still have the white screen. Does anyone know what I can do? Thanks

    try one of these ways:
    > restore you iDevice with iTunes in Recovery Mode (if you have to... back up your device before restoring)
    > let the battery go completely dead.... then plug it using USB to PC or Mac OS
    > replace the LCD with www.ifixandrepair.com
    > go to the Apple Store (official store not retail) and see what they can do. they can replace your device for refurbished price

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Go to Settings>General>Accessibility and see if Invert Colors is on. If On turn it Off.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • Ipod Touch 4th White Screen!!!

I have an ipod touch 4th Generation, and one day it froze up and turned to a white screen.  I have already tried the home button and power button trick, and that didnt work. It also said that if it didnt work to restore it to factory settings, but it wont show up in itunes so that i can do that. Help?

    Hi
I just had this happen today as well, not the first time either!
I also tried the home/off button as well without any joy.  When I Googled the problem it also said to try volume up/home/off at the same time - that still didn't work.
When I checked it after a couple of hours it was showing the battery was dead, I put it on the dock rather than attaching it to the laptop and I've just found it working fine.
I've also deleted the app that we're pretty sure was causing it to fallover.
    Hope that helps!
    Jo

  • Ipod Touch 32gb white screen

Hello, earlier today I was listening to my ipod, then all of a sudden the screen turned white. Everytime I turn my ipod on/off i still get the blank white screen.
I have checked other message boards and tried holding the menu and power button to restart it, but I still get the white screen. I've also checked apple's FAQ for the white screen problem http://support.apple.com/kb/ts2771 and my problem still persists.
I just did a system restore on my ipod but it is still not working.
I am just wondering if there are any other things that I could do to fix this. I am currently trying to drain the battery life to see if that will do anything.
I would only call apple and ask them to repair it as a last resort, because I do not want to spend $100+ just to get it fixed.
Is there anything else that I could try and do? If anyone has any helpful suggestions, please share them with me. Again, I would consider calling apple and getting it fixed by them as a last resort.
    Thanks for reading

If no change after restoring your iPod Touch with iTunes as a new iPod Touch or not from the backup, your iPod Touch has a hardware problem.

  • Ipod shows a white screen but  it still connects to my computer

Today I was silly enough to drop my Ipod accidentally on the ground (by accident of course) though not very hard, when I turned it back on a white screen shows up. However I can still reset it but it still shows up as a white screen. When I plug the Ipod into my computer Itunes still picks it up and all of my songs & albums show up still. When I take the Ipod out it's still a white screen. I've tried resetting the thing many times but still no luck. What should I Do? Does anyone still think there may be hope restoring this?
