IPod Touch Pauses randomly

My 16gig Touch has been pausing randomly while playing music. I took a 3 block walk and it paused 7 times. From the music screen, screen turned off, main menu, ect. It will do it even when nothing is touching the screen, I have reset it twice now and it still does it (even worse with the 2.0 software upgrade)

same problem.....8GB....It will play a song and randomly pause mid song....Sometimes 4 or 5 times in one song.

  • My iPod Touch pauses randomly. Can anyone help me?

    Hello!
So my iPod has this strange tendency to pause randomly while it plays music. It has gotten to the point where it makes listening to music impossible (and therefore the iPod useless). I have tried everything:
-the 5 or 6 R's that Apple is promoting
-i have changed headphones numerous times (i think it might be the headphone jack)
-i have even sent it into apple care and they sent it back saying they are "unable to reproduce the symptoms"
It seems to work properly when i plug it into a stereo that has the same hookup as the ipod update cable.
    can anyone help me!

Mine also pauses at random, I think it has something to do with the battery or power management, which can be either software or hardware related. it happens mostly at random for me but seems to get worse as it gets down into the red.
things I have tried to fix it
    different headphones (still did it)
    restore (still did it)
restore w/ no apps (still did it)
bluetooth headphones (via a bluetooth adapter since its 1st gen) (still did it but VERY rarely).
Also I would like to add that when i'm running it on an ipod dock, it still does it but not very. (so its not just the headphone jack)
i'm running 2.2.1 i'm thinking of upgrading just to see if it fixes it, any success stories?
I called apple and they want $199 to fix it which I think is completely bs!

  • Annoying! iPod Touch pauses music randomly

I have had my iPod touch since July and recently it began randomly pausing while I am listening to music. I have restored it and reloaded content and it still does it.
I recieved an email in an account that I rarely check that said:
    +Dear Customer,+
+Recently you purchased an item from the iTunes Store. You may have noticed+
+that there was an issue with this particular item, which prevented it from+
+being played on an iPod. We have since corrected this problem on the iTunes+
+Store and have verified that this will now play correctly on an iPod.+
Could this have something to do with it? If not what do I need to do to fix this problem?
    Thanks!

Hey I have a first generation ipod touch 16gb and it also started pausing music while on my headphone jack. I first took it to the apple store to see what they could do to fix it but the guy pretty much did nothin and ignored the problem. Now It started up again.... Apple refuses to accept it as an actual problem.

  • IPod Touch 3G randomly stops working, WON'T restore (due to 1603 error)

I was listening to my iPod Touch when I paused it for a moment & when I went to press play, the Apple logo came on followed by the iTunes logo and the USB port. I've never restored it before so I read that when that image shows up, you restore it on iTunes so I tried and I keep getting the same error (# 1603). I read that if people send in their iPod (those who have the same issue as I do) & get sent another, it still won't work.
    - I've reinstalled iTunes: nothing changed
    - I've used different USB ports: nothing changed
    - Tried to restore it on another Mac: nothing changed (I get the same error)
    - Tried to download another firmware to restore: didn't work
I'm really frustrated & feeling lost without my iPod Touch! Please help!

well, you are not alone! i have an itouch 2g, but it's doing the same thing. actually i'm having so many issues, including the battery drain situation as well. my itouch doesn't stay on at all at this point. i can hear a low click noise when trying to reset by holding both buttons down (btw longer than 10 secs) however, randomly gives me an apple sign. unfortunately, i dont have a solution either. i need help 2. i didnt know what was happening (thought a bad electrical cloud following me!) til i saw all these posts. crazy & disappointed

  • Ipod Touch 5 random restart and wifi connectivity issues

    Good day to you sir...
My Ipod Touch 5G 32gb model white has issues towards random restart and wifi unstable even though I have full bars and a working wifi internet connectivity
Here are details that might help on my case..
I bought the Itouch 5 on singapore exactly around January 2013 registered on January 1 on Apple web for warranty.
Around early Feb, i experienced some random restart and I tought it was just some bug after update, it was gone and came back around late march with some wifi issues, but not regularly, only around certain cases on using it for a long period of time. I am still experiencing it now.
The device never experienced drops, dents, nor water damage.. it is protected by an Ozaki case and screen protector bought in a Mac store. Never been Jailbraked. I used it for music, videos and gaming purpose. I have 3 idevice other than the Itouch (iPad 2, Ipad w/ retina display and Ipad Mini with no occuring problems both updated to ios 6.1.3 (so is the itouch). I would like to know what course of action should I take about this problem. I have restored the Ipod Touch 5G via iTunes but the problem still occuring both wifi and random restart. I bought the device on a legit mac authorized dealer. (Power Mac i think) in Singapore, but I live in General Santos City, Philippines. I would gretly appreciate if you give me exact details what course of action should i take.
P.S. my Ipod Touch 5 is running on iOS 6.1.3..

If you restored to factory settings/new iPod and still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem.
Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store..

  • Ipod touch screen randomly quitting.

I just bought a new iPod Touch 5th Generation less than 2 weeks ago. About a week ago a problem arose. Now, sometimes the screen will randomly stop working and do things that I don't want it to do(e.g. open apps). It will also do things when I am not pressing the screen. Can I take it back to the store where I bought it from and get a new one free of charge?

    I would first try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync all music and resync
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem. If your iPod is defective and not abused Apple will exchange it at no cost.

Has anyone else had a problem with their iPod touch in that after a few seconds or sometimes minutes of playing music or video, it pauses itself!!!!
I'm not sure if this is to do with the latest software i've downloaded for it or if there's a problem with my ipod. It's doing my head in, i've reset it all, did a restore through itunes as well as a master reset and erase&reset on the touch itself!!
Not really sure what else to do
    Any ideas??
    Regards
    Ryan

Well i tried another full reset through iTunes and that seems to have cured it.
    Hope this helps folks.

  • IPOD Touch pausing when power adaptor cut off

I listen to my IPOD Touch in my car using an Apple power adaptor. With my two previous IPODs, when I turned off the car, cutting power to the IPOD adaptor, the IPOD would pause, allowing me to resume play from that point when I returned. But my Touch keeps right on playing and I have to manually pause it before getting out of the car. Is there a setting that will make it pause when it loses external power?

Place the iPod in Recovery Mode and restore via iTunes.
If not successful, try DFU mode.

  • Photos on iPod touch in random order

I have my photos all in order on IPhoto on my MacBook Pro, but when I view them on my IPod Touch, the events folder is in a very random order. How do I view my events photos on my IPod Touch in the same order as on my MacBook Pro, i.e. alphabetical / number order?

They are sorted on the iPod by the modification date of the photos. To sort them the whay you want you can change the modification dates on the Mac and then sync or:

  • IPod touch 4G randomly deleted music and won't sync?

So my white iPod touch 4G was plugged up to my computer to charge like always. When I went to listen to my music it said there is "no content, please purchase...". Now the majority of my music is downloaded straight from itunes but there are songs I've downloaded from importing CDs to itunes and then to my iPod. All my songs are still on iTunes, so I try to sync the music back to my iPod and it says that all my music IS currently on the iPod, but when trying to sync from my purchased list (where some songs aren't on my iPod) it won't sync because it says "iPod couldn'y sync because it couldn't be found. I'm horribly confused and I really just wont my music back so please help!

    - Reboot the computer
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Try another USB port
    - Try cable
    - Try on another computer to help determine if yo have an iPod or computer problem. Do not sync to the the other coputer, just see if iTunes sees it corretly.

  • HT1296 My iPod touch had randomly stopped working for no apparent reason

I was playing a game on my iPod touch (got it about 3 months ago) and my mom came home from the grocery store so I put m iPod on the couch and went upstairs. I come back down 20-30 minutes later, My iPod's screen is black. Press the circle button. Nothing. Maybe it died. Walked upstairs to get the charger. Pulg it in. And NOTHING!! What do I do?!? I don't want to have to go and buy a new iPod!! >.< Should I got to a Apple Store? I'm at a panic!! That thing wakes me up in the morning, gives me internet and I use it as a phone too!! Someone please help me!!

If not successful try the remaining items of:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
