Ipod touch wont connect to the internet at all

When I go to connect to the internet, It doesn't show MY internet in the internet selecions at all. The only way that I can connect to it is if I go very close to the internet model and only then can I connect to the internet, but when I leave somewhere farther like in my room, it disconnects and doesn't show it at all after a few minutes of using the internet, or even if im not using the internet It still disconnects itself and doesnt show my internet unless I go back next to the modem. I always have to repeat this process to connect to the internet on my ipod. All the computers in the house connect fine. even everyone else with an ipod. This started a couple days ago and dont know why it's happening. PLEASE HELP D::

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on your router

  • MY ipod touch wont connect to the internet. HELP i've tried everything I can think of.

I've reset the wireless settngs, turned the wifi off and then turned it back on, and I've clicked "other" under the wifi names and typed in the name and password. What next?

Can other devices that you own connect to your WiFi network? If not then that is the problem, not the iPod.

  • My I-Touch Wont Connect To The Internet ! But My Bro's Did ! Help Please

I just bought this friggin thing a few hours ago, cause my idiot brother talked me into getting it. He successfully connected his to the internet. I just paid $230.00 for an 8gb Ipod-touch, and a warranty, and it wont connect to the internet. I put in my network, and the password, but it's not going through. But my brothers works fine. Anybody know what i can do ?

Yeah, they took down the post cause im not supposed to talk about it apparently. That was my brothers. His is working fine, he can go online, and do things, but for some reason i cant go on youtube, or safari, and cant connect to my main connection.
I was thinking, maybe since there is two I-Touch's, maybe only one can be connected, but im not to sure about that.

  • The wi-fi on my ipod touch is connected but the internett is not working! Help

Soo annoying, it's connected but the internett is not working. I don't know what to type in or what to do, so I need help.

Are you 100% positive you are connected?  Head to Settings - Wi-Fi and tap the > next to the network you are connected to?  What is listed for an IP address?  If it's in the 169.x.x.x range, it means your iPod did not properly receive a valid IP address via DHCP from your modem/router. So the 169.x.x.x address is a self-assigned one.
This can usually be resolved by a reboot of your router.  You can do this by unplugging it for about 30 seconds.  After it powers back up, try reconnecting it.  It wouldn't hurt to try a reset of your iPod as well.  To do this, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.

  • Ipod touch doesnt connect to the internet but iphone has no trouble at the same time

I have a 3rd gen ipod touch and all of a sudden the internet stopped working on it. Its still connected to the wi-fi and all other computers and my iphone are all working ok. Have tried resetting everything, powering off the touch, reset network settings etc but no joy.. Any ideas?

You have dine some great troubleshooting so far and you are on the right track I would look at a restore now but not from the backup. I would try as a new device... This is to see if it is a software or hardware issue...

  • My I-touch wont connect to the internet.HELP

OK i just got and ipod touch for my birthday and whenever i try to go on safari or youtube it says cannot connect to server. I am standing right in front of my wireless router. If i go to Wi-fi setting on my i touch it has the IP address and the Subnet Mask, the others dont have anything written in them. I have tried everything i can think of. My router by the way is a linksys and the model number is WRT54G. It has to be something to do with my router beacuse if i use my neighbours wirless i can go on but i have the crapiest connection. i know the password for my router and the wireless password.
    Thank you for your time

    Hello Foooza,
Have you tried restarting your iPod touch(hold both buttons down until the screen turns off, and then press the power button)?
Have you tried using other devices to connect to your router(i.e. laptop)?
Have you tried restarting the router?
You should try the 3 things that I have suggested and see if they work.

If your phone is offline, the ONLY way to find it is to look for it the old fashioned way.  Your phone CANNOT be located electronically if it's offline.
