  • Details on JSP error page include...

    I have a scenario as defined below:-
    There are two JSPs, A_page.jsp and B_page.jsp.
    They have AERROR.jsp and BERROR.jsp defined as error pages for them respectively.
    Case1:- If A_page.jsp includes B_page.jsp using include directive.
    In case there is an error, which error page will be shown, AERROR.jsp or BERROR.jsp?
    Case2:- If A_page.jsp includes B_page.jsp using JSP action.
    In case there is an error, which error page will be shown, AERROR.jsp or BERROR.jsp?
    Please clarify...
    Thanks in advance... ;-)

    call.jsp
    <%@page errorPage="first.jsp" %>
    <%=1/0%>
    first.jsp
    <%@page isErrorPage="true" %>
    <%="errorfirst"%>
    <%@include file="second.jsp" %>
    second.jsp
    <%@page isErrorPage="true" %>
    <%="errorSecond"%>
    output
    errorfirst errorSecond
    (so it will display all first and second error jsp`s)...
    its like a sub call (or) inline call in c++...
    and vice versa

  • Getting Error page too often

    When I click to article "Disciplined PL/SQL" by Steven Feuerstein on OTN home page, some times I get error page. Some time I am able to see the article. Even links to List1, List2 etc on the article always results in error page. Then on the article when ever I clieck on "More article by Feuerstein", I always get error page that this page has either moved blah blah blah. What is going on? Can you please resolve issues with OTN article references and links.

    These links all appear to be working fine. Perhaps you encountered a temporary caching problem...

  • Server errors result in blank pages with security enabled

    I have been working to security-enable my ADF 11 application using JDeveloper 11.1.1.0.0. Users, roles and grants all appear to be working as expected. However, I have discovered that server errors no longer appear once I put security in place.
    For example, take a simple JSPX page with one button, and attach an actionListener to the button. In the actionListener, throw an exception. When no ADF security is in place, this results in a 500 server error page, and the exception stack trace (or part of it) is written to the Weblogic console inside JDeveloper. Once ADF security is in place, the behavior changes. The result is a blank page (absolutely no content). Even worse, the exception stack trace is no longer written to the Weblogic console.
    I have tried to work around this by setting an <error-page> in web.xml, but it doesn't seem to make a difference. I do know that my <error-page> configuration works in general, because I have a "not authorized" error page set up to catch the ADF AuthorizationException, and that is displayed properly. I have also seen the error page invoked for errors that happen earlier in the rendering process (for instance, if I forget to set a default page in my bounded task flow).
    I don't have any idea where to start on this. Google hasn't been much help, possibly I don't know what I'm looking for.
    Anyone have any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    KEN

    We have found a solution to this problem, which we are going to go with until something better pops up.
    In the main unbounded task flow (adfc-config), we added a method call marked as the error-handler. In the method call, we log the exception, something like this:
        public void handleException() {
            Exception e = ControllerContextImpl.getInstance().getCurrentViewPort().getExceptionData();
            e.printStackTrace(System.err);
        }Then, the method call forwards to a JSP to display the error:
    <af:inputText label="Error" value="#{controllerContext.currentViewPort.exceptionData.message}"/>That gets us the equivalent of the old behavior.
    I still find it kind of strange that errors aren't displayed once security is enabled, but at least there is a workaround.

  • With 3.6.12, Help menu item "For Internet Explorer Users" results in a "Page Not Found" error. Is this a known bug? Is it being addressed?

    Clicking the 3.6.12 Help menu item "For Internet Explorers" item results in a "Page Not Found" error.
    The URL of the resultant page is https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Windows%20start%20page?as=u
    Is this a known bug, if so, is it being addressed? If so, someone needs to work faster.
    If it is not a known bug, someone needs to get right on it - you want people to switch to Firefox and then there is this bug -- not a good way to impress Internet Explorer users.

    Hi Claudio Roca,
    I have encountered the same problem. Do you found the solution for this issue? I will much appreciated if you willing to share your solution and email to [email protected] Thank you so much.

  • Use of error page resulting in could not deserialize session data exception

              We have recently converted classes that store objects in the HTTP Session to implement
              serializable.
              Our application uses an error page set up in our web.xml for 500 errors.
              It also uses filters.
              When our application throws an exception and allows the server to handle it
              via the error page setup, we end up with the exception we threw, plus a number
              of
              "Could not deserialize session data" exceptions in the stack trace.
              In general, the exceptions can be traced to lines in code that attempt to reference
              one of our "serializable" session objects to get user info for logging purposes.
              Problem is, other applications that do not use error pages to handle exceptions
              do not throw these types of exceptions in the wl-domain.log and they use the same
              classes.
              Does anyone know why this happens when using error pages and what we need to do
              to correct it?
              We are using Weblogic 8.1sp2.
              Thanks!!

  • WS17900260 - Task TS17900108 resulted in error, in HCM Processes and Forms

    Hi,
      I have designed a HCM process and workflow. In custom workflow ,WS17900260 (TS17900108) has been used to save data. In this step it is resulting in error and shows the below message in "Step History" tab. No message in Message Tab.
    Work item 000000172044: Object CL_HRASR00_WF_COMPONENTS method SAVE_FORM_DATA_TO_DB cannot be exe
    Message no. WL821
    An exception with the type CX_HRASR00_PROCESS_MODE LLING occurred, but was neither handled locally.
    I tried executing the associated method and I did not get any error. Please let me know if anyone has faced this issue and how it is resolved.
    Thanks,
    Sri

    Hi Sri
    Expecting a prompt answer in 2 hours time is a tad too demanding for all of us
    We try to help you based on our experience and if we do not have it, we just wait for the right one to respond.
    It is not that I have experience in HCM Processes and Forms, but a little bit of googling to help you gave me the following:
    1) SAP Help for your task TS17900108 states that it has the same requirements for binding as that of task TS17900107 .... check the latter half of the page here:
    https://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp60_sp/helpdata/en/42/f28f8a1e5132c3e10000000a1553f6/content.htm
    2) If you check TS17900107 binding requirements, it needs certain necessary parameters which may be causing the issue. Check the mandatory requirements here:
    https://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp60_sp/helpdata/en/42/f2cf2c249b3268e10000000a1553f6/content.htm
    Also check for authorizations
    3) See how another user solved the issue with the same method here:
    http://scn.sap.com/thread/1753027
    4) See the possible advice for a similar issue with task TS17900107 (which is kind of similar to your task)
    Novice in HR forms and processes workflow - help in usage of TS17900110
    I checked various threads and the common link is that it all depends on your system and the bindings or the custom functions called within. Also do check for authorizations as mentioned in the first link from Help.sap.com
    I am sorry, I cannot give you further details because I myself do not have experience in HCM P&F. I am sure you too can google further from here, or we can be a little more patient for others to reply (I understand that some issues are critical and need immediate resolution, but we all are busy in our own projects and sometimes are not able to reply immediately).

  • Define global error page on global-web.xml

    Dear fellows:
    We want to create a common 404 web error page for all our J2EE applications. We have added these error pages to the global-web.xml through the Visual Administrator:
      on several  system local folders such as:
    usrsap<SID><j2ee-instance>j2eecluster
    usrsap<SID><j2ee-instance>j2eecluster<server-inst>
    usrsap<SID><j2ee-instance>j2eecluster<server-inst>apps
    usrsap<SID><j2ee-instance>j2eecluster<server-inst>sap.com
    However, everytime we provoke the server error in order to retreive this Global Error Web Page, the system does not seem to find our custom error page, giving the following message:
    The request can’t be processed.
    Details: Requested resource ( /testerrorpage.html ) not found.
    We have discovered that the application was not trying to look up for our web Error page, but for another one located inside the application. However, we don't want to add a specific application web page but a global one common for all of them.
    Since there is not any common folder, such as global/root folder, we don’t know where the custom error page should be placed. Do we need to do something else?
    We are currently using WAS: 6.40 SP 11 PatchLevel 89291.313.
    Does anyone know how to configure this global error page? It is possible to do it?
    Thank you
    Gonzalo

    Hello,
    Yes, Uvaylo is right, the only way to edit the content of the global-web.xml is through the visual administrator --> Configuration Adapter.
    I have the same problem as Gonzalo, I have modified the global-web.xml and added custom errors pages for each HTTP error and exceptions. The big deal is when I try to specify in the <b>location</b> field of <b>error-page</b> item: I dont know where I should place my custom error page. I have tried the same paths as Gonzalo did with the same result, when the error event is raised the error page is not found. In the log appears the following entry:
    Processing an http request by the error page [/testerrorpage.html] finished with errors.
    Probably the exception [com.sap.engine.services.servlets_jsp.server.exceptions.ServletNotFoundException:
    Requested resource ( /custom_error.html ) not found.]
    thrown by the requested servlet [/testerrorpage.html] cannot be processed.
    The error is: com.sap.engine.services.servlets_jsp.server.exc
    Please help! Where can I place my custom error pages, to make them available for all the applications of the server?
    Thanks in advance for your help!

  • IProcurement Requisition screens

    Hi All,
    I have to throw an error message in the iProcurement Requisition "Edit lines" page based on some values in the requisition distributions assocaited to the line.
    I have extended the controller of the "Edit Lines" page and am trying to run through all the records of the requisition distributions to check if error needs to be thrown. But in the "Edit Lines" page, the Requisition Distributions VO (PoReqDistributionsVO) is giving me rowcount as 0 (by using getRowCount). I think the VO is still not executed at all.
    If I try the same logic of getting row count in the requistion distributions page i.e "Split Cost" page, am getting 2 rows and am able to do the validation.
    But i need to show the error in "Edit Lines" page. Any advice how can i achieve my requirement of showing error message in "Edit Lines" page based on values in the requisition distributions?

    Req Distributions are created one when you click the next button in the requisition information page or when u split the accounts in the edit lines page.
    Can you give more information on that validation you are trying to do, so that I can help you...

  • Multiple (updatable) details in the same page.

    Hello,
    I tried to put two updatable details in the same page and got the error
    "Updatable SQL Query already exists on page 11. You can only add one updatable SQL query per page. Select a different page"
    So having more than one updatable detail is not allowed in apex ?
    I have a master table with three details. Should I create one page for each one of them ?
    Thanks in advance
    Bye
    Nicola

    What you want to use are called collections. Here is a simple collection example:
    The process goes in 4 steps: gather the data, display the data, update based on user input, then write the changes. Each step requires it's own piece of code, but you can extend this out as far as you want. I have a complex form that has no less than a master table and 4 children I write to based on user input, so this can get as complex as you need. Let me know if anything doesn't make sense.
    First, create the basic dataset you are going to work with. This usually includes existing data + empty rows for input. Create a Procedure that fires BEFORE HEADER or AFTER HEADER but definitely BEFORE the first region.
    DECLARE
      v_id     NUMBER;
      var1     NUMBER;
      var2     NUMBER;
      var3     VARCHAR2(10);
      var4     VARCHAR2(8);
      cursor c_prepop is
      select KEY, col1, col2, col3, to_char(col4,'MMDDYYYY')
        from table1
        where ...;
      i         NUMBER;
      cntr      NUMBER := 5;  --sets the number of blank rows
    BEGIN
      OPEN c_prepop;
        LOOP
          FETCH c_prepop into v_id, var1, var2, var3, var4;
          EXIT WHEN c_prepop%NOTFOUND;
            APEX_COLLECTION.ADD_MEMBER(
            p_collection_name => 'MY_COLLECTION',
            p_c001 => v_id,  --Primary Key
            p_c002 => var1, --Number placeholder
            p_c003 => var2, --Number placeholder
            p_c004 => var3, --text placeholder
            p_c005 => var4 --Date placeholder
        END LOOP;
      CLOSE c_prepop;
      for i in 1..cntr loop
        APEX_COLLECTION.ADD_MEMBER(
            p_collection_name => 'MY_COLLECTION',
            p_c001 => 0, --designates this as a new record
            p_c002 => 0, --Number placeholder
            p_c003 => 0, --Number placeholder
            p_c004 => NULL, --text placeholder
            p_c005 => to_char(SYSDATE,'MMDDYYYY') --Date placeholder
      end loop;
    END;Now I have a collection populated with rows I can use. In this example I have 2 NUMBERS, a TEXT value, and a DATE value stored as text. Collections can't store DATE datatypes, so you have to cast it to text and play with it that way. The reason is because the user is going to see and manipulate text - not a DATE datatype. If you are using this as part of a master/detail form, make sure that your SQL to grab the detail is limited to just the related data.
    Now build the form/report region so your users can see/manipulate the data. Here is a sample query:
    SELECT rownum, apex_item.hidden(1, c001),  --Key ID
         apex_item.text(2, c002, 8, 8) VALUE1,
         apex_item.text(3, c003, 3, 3) VALUE2,
         apex_item.text(4, c004, 8, 8) VALUE3,
         apex_item.date_popup(5, null,c005,'MMDDYYYY',10,10) MY_DATE
    FROM APEX_COLLECTIONS
    WHERE COLLECTION_NAME = 'MY_COLLECTION'This will be a report just like an SQL report - you're just pulling the data from the collection. You can still apply the nice formatting, naming, sorting, etc. of a standard report. In the report the user will have 3 "text" values and one Date with Date Picker. You can change the format, just make sure to change it in all four procedures.
    What is critical to note here are the numbers that come right before the column names. These numbers become identifiers in the array used to capture the data. What APEX does is creates an array of up to 50 items it designates as F01-F50. The F is static, but the number following it corresponds to the number in your report declaration above, ie, F01 will contain the primary key value, F02 will contain the first numeric value, etc. While not strictly necessary, it is good practice to assign these values so you don't have to guess.
    One more note: I try to align the c00x values from the columns in the collection with the F0X values in the array to keep myself straight, but they are separate values that do NOT have to match. If you have an application you think might get expanded on, you can leave gaps wherever you want. Keep in mind, however, that you only have 50 array columns to use for data input. That's the limit of the F0X array even though a collection may have up to 1000 values.
    Now you need a way to capture user input. I like to create this as a BEFORE COMPUTATIONS/VALIDATIONS procedure that way the user can see what they changed (even if it is wrong). Use the Validations to catch mistakes.
    declare
      j pls_integer := 0;
    begin
    for j1 in (
      select seq_id from apex_collections
      where collection_name = 'MY_COLLECTION'
      order by seq_id) loop
      j := j+1;
      --VAL1 (number)
      apex_collection.update_member_attribute (p_collection_name=> 'MY_COLLECTION',
          p_seq=> j1.seq_id,p_attr_number =>2,p_attr_value=>wwv_flow.g_f02(j));
      --VAL2 (number)
      apex_collection.update_member_attribute (p_collection_name=> 'MY_COLLECTION',
          p_seq=> j1.seq_id,p_attr_number =>3,p_attr_value=>wwv_flow.g_f03(j));
      --VAL3 (text)
      apex_collection.update_member_attribute (p_collection_name=> 'MY_COLLECTION',
          p_seq=> j1.seq_id,p_attr_number =>4,p_attr_value=>wwv_flow.g_f04(j));
      --VAL4 (Date)
      apex_collection.update_member_attribute (p_collection_name=> 'MY_COLLECTION',
          p_seq=> j1.seq_id,p_attr_number =>5,p_attr_value=>wwv_flow.g_f05(j));
    end loop;
    end;Clear as mud? Walk through it slowly. The syntax tells APEX which Collection (p_collection_name), then which row (p_seq), then which column/attribute (p_attr_number) to update with which value (wwv_flow.g_f0X(j)). The attribute number is the column number from the collection without the "c" in front (ie c004 in the collection = attribute 4).
    The last one is your procedure to write the changes to the Database. This one should be a procedure that fires AFTER COMPUTATIONS AND VALIDATIONS. It uses that hidden KEY value to determine whether the row exists and needs to be updated, or new and needs to be inserted.
    declare
    begin
      --Get records from Collection
      for y in (select TO_NUMBER(c001) x_key, TO_NUMBER(c002) x_1,
                 TO_NUMBER(c003) x_2,
                 c004 x_3,
                 TO_DATE(c005,'MMDDYYYY') x_dt
               FROM APEX_COLLECTIONS
               WHERE COLLECTION_NAME = 'MY_COLLECTION') loop
        if y.x_key = 0 then  --New record
            insert into MY_TABLE (KEY_ID, COL1,
                COL2, COL3, COL4, COL5)
              values (SEQ_MY_TABLE.nextval, y.x_1,
                  y.x_2, y.x_3, y.x_4, y.x_dt);
        elsif y.x_key > 0 then  --Existing record
            update MY_TABLE set COL1=y.x_1, COL2=y.x_2,
                 COL3=y.x_3, COL4=y.x_4, COL5=y.x_dt
             where KEY_ID = y.x_key;
        else
          --THROW ERROR CONDITION
        end if;
      end loop;
    end;Now I usually include something to distinguish the empty new rows from the full new rows, but for simplicity I'm not including it here.
    Anyway, this works very well and allows me complete control over what I display on the screen and where all the data goes. I suggest using the APEX forms where you can, but for complex situations, this works nicely. Let me know if you need further clarifications.

  • Keeping heading and detail on the same page

    Hi, I have a report with a group header section and a detail section.  How can I keep the heading section and all the detail section on the same page without starting each group on a new page?
    The detail section will have either 2 or 3 records with some of the objects set to grow if the data doesn't fit on one line.  This results in several changes of group appearing on the same page which is what I want.  However, what I don't want is the header section on one page with the detail section on the next, or the header and some of the detail records on one page with the rest of the detail records on the next.  What I would like is the report to start a new page if the header and all the detail records don't fit on the same page but without starting a new page for every group change.  How can I achieve this?

    you can put the group header and details into a sub report on the old group header section.
    then hide the details section

  • Jdeveloper 11.1.1.2.0 : Master Detail Using Fragment Error

    Hi
    When developing a master detail solution, using a page fragment, I have encountered the following issues. I have followed forum articles and My Support solutions with success. The steps I used to create the solution is as follows;
    1. Create ADF model project with 2 entities sharing a master detail relatiuonship.
    2. Ensure that FK assocation has Behavior property Composition Association checked.
    3. Test application module. Create works on both master and detail tables.
    4. Create ADF view controller project.
    5. Create a new task flow, with page fragments and add page to flow.
    6. Add master detail VO to created page fragment.
    7. Surround tables with Panel Collection components.
    8. Add toolbar and buttons to createinsert into master and detail tables.
    9. Add PPR to both tables for refresh when createinsert actions are performed.
    10. Create test page.
    11. Add task flow as region to page.
    12. Run adfc-config.xml
    13. Click on createinsert of master table. Capture data.
    14. Click on createinsert of detail table.
    15. Error stack is generated, JBO-25030 Detail entity with row key null cannot find or invalidate it's owning entity.
    I then created a JSF page and added the tables directly onto the page. I successfully created a master and a detail record.
    I then checked the Cascade Update Key attributes on the association and added the following code to the master ViewRowImpl class;
    @Override
    public void setNewRowState(byte state) {
    if (state != Row.STATUS_INITIALIZED || getNewRowState() != Row.STATUS_NEW) {
    super.setNewRowState(state);
    I ran the page containing the region and the following error was generated;
    <Utils><buildFacesMessage> ADF: Adding the following JSF error message: Attribute RegionId in Regions is required.
    oracle.jbo.AttrValException: JBO-27014: Attribute RegionId in Regions is required.
    I then changed auto-submit to true for the PK on the master table. This produced no error, however only the master records PK is committed to the database, other attribute values are ignored and the detail record is not committed.

    Leon.
