IR : Change value in row after link column click?

Hi
I have an interactive report where I'm trying to create 2 link columns.
The first is the report's default and has an "edit" icon.
I've added a 2nd link column "Retry" where when it is clicked I'd like to change the value in the 3rd column to "Y".
Is this possible?
Thanks,
Steve

  • Passing IR Values to Form via Link Column

    I am fairly new to APEX and was wondering if there was a way to pass more than the 3 allotted values in the Link Column of an Interactive Report.
    My report is generated from a query that pulls from several tables. My link column navigates to a form that edits attributes from one of the queried tables. I want to display all the associated values from the same row in the report, but the link column seems to only allow 3 items to be passed to the next page. I can currently fetch all row values that belong to the table the form was created for, but I don't know how to get the others.

    Hi,
    Instead of passing a number of values through link which in turn passes through URL, you could use Automatic Row Fetch process on load of your
    form page to fetch the values of all form items.
    Moreover, you have limitation on the data passed through URL.
    For using the Automatic Row Fetch process you have to do following:
    1) On your form page create a hidden item to hold the primary key value you pass through your link on Interactive Report.
    2) Change the Source Type of each item on your form to Database Column.
    3) Change the Source value or expression to name of your database column whose value the item will hold.
    4) Create a Automatic Row Fetch process Process Point as On Load - After Header.

    Hope it helps!

  • How can we change Topic Names Generated after linking a document

    Hi:
         I linked a document and generated a topic in RoboHelp for HTML. The topics are generated with some names and i am not able to rename them after they are generated.
    I tried doing this as per help
    Define the topic name pattern for generated topics
    When you set heading styles for pagination, the heading text is included by default in the filename of the topic file created in RoboHelp. For example, suppose you define Heading 2 for pagination. If the Word document has two Heading 2 topics, “Introduction” and “Beyond basics,” the topics are created as files named introduction.htm and beyond_basics.htm. The result is intuitively named HTML files that indicate the topic title. In addition to this default scheme, you can define more naming conventions. If, however, the Help system uses sequentially numbered files, such as helptopic001.html, helptopic002.html, and so on, you can define the pattern to support that convention.
    Do one of the following:
    Select File > Import > Word Document.
    Select File > Link > Word Document.
    Select File > Project Settings.
    In the Conversion Settings dialog box, select Other Settings.
    In the Other Settings tab, set the topic name pattern.
    Topics are named according to the selected pattern. You can select one of the following or create a topic name pattern.
    Default
    Uses the topic title text as the topic filename.
    <$filename_no_ext>-<$paratext>
    The name of the converted HTML topic contains the following:
    The name of the Word source file without its extension
    Hyphen as the separator
    Paragraph text used to demarcate HTML topics
    For example, a Word file named “Chapter.doc” with “1-Introduction” as paragraph text is converted to an HTML topic named “Chapter-1-Introduction.”
    <$filename_no_ext>-<n>
    The name of the converted HTML topic contains the following:
    The name of the Word source file without its extension
    Hyphen as the separator
    A sequential number
    For example, “Chapter.doc” is converted to an HTML topic named “Chapter-1.”
    <$paratext_no_num>
    The name of the converted HTML topic contains the paragraph text used to demarcate the HTML topic, without numbering. For example, paragraph text “1.Introduction” is converted to an HTML topic named “Introduction.”.
    <$paratext>
    The name of the converted HTML topic contains the paragraph text used to demarcate the HTML topic. For example, paragraph text “Introduction” is converted into an HTML topic named “Introduction.”
    But, still its doing the same. Can anybody help me .
    1. How can i generate what i need .
    2. or How can i rename the topics which are genrated.
    When i import word document, i can rename the topics. But, when i link them. They are readonly.
    Thanks
    Santhosh

    I verified it at my end and found that at times the "other settings" are lost if only other setting are updated but this behavior is a bit random.
    I have a workaround for this issue :-
    1. please link the document first
    2. Open the File->project setting dialog and click Edit button for Framaker setting (this wont cause any issue as you wont be using these settings)
    3. In "conversion setting" please update any "other settings" and then click OK
    4. Now on the other setting for word documents will get retained and after this it will always be retained for even the new projects.
    5. then OK on project setting dialog and can verify it by reoprning these settings
    Hope this helps

  • Excpetion after link is clicked for file download on same page

    I have implemented a module in JSF where the page displays a datatable and one the columns is a command link which when clicked opens up a dialog box to save a CLOB from the DB as a csv on the local desktop.
    All this is working fine.
    The problem is that once the user clicks on one link in the datatable and then the user again clicks on any other link on the page or tries to use the Logout link the page is directed to the welcome page.
    The problem is happening because of the <h:commandLink> causes the page to submit and thereafter any click on the page causes the page to go to the homepage.

    There are two ways to do this.
    1. you create a modern day css-file with the classes for the
    links you want colored, which is preferred in XHTML-environments.
    a. go to Edit, Administer websites, choose your website
    b. Users and roles is selected, pick you role (administrator
    I presume) and choose Edit Role-settings
    c. pick Styles and Fonts
    d. form the drop-down list behind Style-support, choose
    Document level css
    e. pick: Show only CSS styles included in this CSS file
    (pick the file you created)
    f. use the classes in editing mode for your secific links
    g. done
    2. you change the role-settings and do it the old-fashioned
    way make it possible to use font-tags and use HTML for the source
    code
    a. go to Edit, Administer websites, choose your website
    b. Users and roles is selected, pick you role (administrator
    I presume) and choose Edit Role-settings
    c. pick Styles and Fonts
    d. form the drop-down list behind Style-support, choose HTML
    tags (<font etc....
    e. done

  • Safari won't display any URLs in the address bar. When I type it in, it'll keep what I typed in, but never change no matter how many links I click.

    This makes it really hard to refresh pages. I might be on google, looking something up, hit refresh, and my URL is still showing "facebook.com" or whatever site I was on previously, then I get taken back to the site I had in my URL. When I click around on links on the page I'm on, it'll still just show the url to the first page I viewed. Also, the URL isn't auto-completing as I type in URLs.

    Please read this whole message before doing anything.
    This procedure is a diagnostic test. It won’t solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    The purpose of this exercise is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login. First, disconnect all wired peripherals except keyboard, mouse, monitor, and Ethernet, if applicable. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account that has the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
    Be sure your Mac is shut down.
    Press the power button.
    Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key. The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
    Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple icon and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
    The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
    Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, perhaps including wireless networking on certain Macs. If you usually connect to the Internet via WiFi, and it doesn’t work in safe mode, connect using an Ethernet cable. If you can’t do that, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and perform a safe login, as follows: Enter your credentials at the login screen, then hold down the shift key and click the “Log in” button. Keep holding the key until the menu bar appears. In this mode, your login items, among other things, won’t load.
    In safe mode, test again. Same problem(s) now?
    After testing, reboot (if you booted in safe mode) or log out/log in (if you performed a safe login) as usual.

  • Web Form Cancel Edit button changes value of List View item when clicked

    I have a web form, I shows 3 buttons, Edit, Save, And cancel. When the user presses the edit button it enables editing. When the user makes an edit and presses the save button it saves the changes. When the user presses the cancel button, it does cancel
    the edit ok but it changes the vale in the left list view to a different value.  For instance my left list view has a list of vendor names.  When I click cancel, the vendor name shown for the selected record, changes to the vendor number.  I
    have experimented with different values to show in the list view, I have turned off sorting, etc.  No matter what everytime I click cancel button it changes the vendor name to the vendor number.
    Even stranger is when I scroll the list up and the item that changed is move out of view and then you scroll back down to put it in view it puts the value back to the vendor name.
    This isn't consistent as I have created some forms where it doesn't do this.
    Also when I create a new list view, does anyone know how to get it into the tile pane .  the only way to get anything in that list appears to be that I have to create a whole new table.

  • How to refer a column value of a single row in conditional column display?

    Hello,
    does anybody have an idea, how i can refer a column value of a single row in conditional display of a column?
    So my idea is, that a report has a column, which value is only displayed, when another column value of this row has a specific value.
    I want to solve this problem with condition type: PL/SQL Function Body returning a boolean.
    But I do not know how to refer the column value of each single row!
    Thank you,
    Tim

    Here's a solution that, to me, seems easier to implement but, that's, of course, in the eye of the implementer.
    Rather than using APEX to generate a link column for you, actually create the link as part of your SQL.
    select '<a href="f?p=102:3:491847682940364::::P3_CONTACT_ID:' || CONTACT_ID || "><img src="/i/themes/theme_1/ed-item.gif" alt="Edit"></a>' CONTACT_LINK, ...
    etc.
    Test this out. You'll see that it works just like making a column a link using the column attributes.
    Next, we'll change the SQL to use a DECODE statement to either display the link or nothing depending on what your criteria is. For example, let's assume you only want a link for active contacts.
    select Decode( CONTACT_STATUS, 'A', '<a href="f?p=102:3:491847682940364::::P3_CONTACT_ID:' || CONTACT_ID || "><img src="/i/themes/theme_1/ed-item.gif" alt="Edit"></a>', NULL ) CONTACT_LINK, ...
    etc.
    This will not display the link in any rows in which the CONTACT_STATUS is not active, i.e. "A"

  • Apex 4.2: changing link column from ROWID to ID

    Hello
    I have a report linked to a form. The link column is currently ROWID and I want to change it to the Primary Key of the DB table, which is called ID.
    I have done this before on a previous report/form where that ID was a display column and it works fine. Now I'm trying to copy what I did, which is this:
    On the report page, go to Interactive Report attributes, scroll down to Link Column, and for Item 1, change the Name and Value.
    The problem is that Name does not list P52_ID. If I type it in, it throws an error when I run the page.
    I think I added ID, which is also a Display column, later on, so I wonder whether Apex has a refresh issue and can't "see" P52_ID.
    Does anyone know how I refresh my list, or whether in fact something else is causing this?
    Thanks
    Emma

    >
    It's not very clear from this what you're trying to do/have done. (Creating examples on apex.oracle.com is a good way to avoid misunderstandings in conveying the nature of your problems.)
    I have a report linked to a form.Which page contains the report and which the form?
    The link column is currently ROWID and I want to change it to the Primary Key of the DB table, which is called ID."Link Column" refers to the Link Column section in the IR attributes, rather than the Column Link section of the ID column attributes?
    I have done this before on a previous report/form where that ID was a display column and it works fine. Now I'm trying to copy what I did, which is this:
    On the report page, go to Interactive Report attributes, scroll down to Link Column, and for Item 1, change the Name and Value.
    The problem is that Name does not list P52_ID. If I type it in, it throws an error when I run the page.What is the error?
    What are the values of the Link Column, Target and Page properties?
    Is P52_ID an item on the target page?
    What are the Source: Automatic Row Processing (DML) properties of the ARF process on the form page?
    I think I added ID, which is also a Display column, later on, so I wonder whether Apex has a refresh issue and can't "see" P52_ID. Added ID where? To the table? The IR query? The form page?

    4. I think problem maybe is related with row key, but I need end user to change rowkey column value. does it allow changing the value of column as row key? I found this problem maybe only occur for new created row. For those existing rows, even I change the value of row key column, no such problem occurred, how do I handle this situation?
    Appriciate if anybody can help.

    Hi Bangaram,
    Thank you for your reply.
    The error: "Root cause error code is JBO-34014. Error message parameters are {0=oracle.jbo.Key[21 null ], 1=root} "
    I didn't create master records, I just used joint queries for information display of both master and detail. I am trying to create a row in the UI table to create a new detail record and master record already exists.
    The row key for new added row in UI rich table is [21 null ], row key of detail records table composes of 2 columns. 21 is for FixedSlotId and null is for SlotFromN. when I provide a new value for SlotFromN column in UI rich table, problem will occur.

  • Link column and fetch row...

    Hello!
    I have a report with 5 columns. I am trying to create a link in one of the columns of the report . I want to select the link and redirect to a form which would edit the row of another table based on the link. I managed to create a link to the form i want but the form is empty...I can't fetch the primary key's value and the values of the other fields of the form.The primary key of the form is the link column. I hope that the problem is clear enough.
    Thanx in advance for any answers.

    I set the target of the link to another page in the application where i have the form i want to fill....
    No, i don;t have any other process. My problem is that i want to automatically fill the form using as primary key the link column but i really don't have any idea what should i do,cause i am a starter. I would appreciate any help.

  • Set report radio group row selector when a link column is clicked.

    Hi can anyone help?
    I have a sql report with a radio group record selector on the left, this is used on click to populate some extra fields on the page. I also have a link column on the right of the report that is used to display another popup page. What I want is to synchronize the radio group selector when the link is clicked (that is select and click the radio group of the current row when the link column is selected).
    Page layout
    rg1 row details link pen icon
    rg2 row details link pen icon
    rg3 row details link pen icon
    extra field 1
    extra field 2
    Report attributes - link column URL.
    JAVASCRIPT: modalWin2('f?p=&APP_ID.:#SHOW#:&SESSION.::::SAVE_STATUS:N');
    I’m assuming I can call another javascript function from the link URL above and somehow I get the number of the row of the link selected . I think if I can get that I can use the code below where n is the row number of the link selected.
    Javascript :-
    var l_check = $x_FormItems($x('EVENT_HIST1'), 'radio');
    l_check[n].checked=true;
    var l_click = l_check[n].click();
    Thanks Pete

    Pete:
    One way to solve your requirement is as below
    Change the report query to be something similar to
    select
    apex_item.radiogroup(40,empno,null,null,'id=rg_'||rownum) rad,
    ename,
    '<a href=javascript:fx('|| empno ||',' || '"rg_'|| rownum ||'")><img src="#WORKSPACE_IMAGES#delete.gif"></a>' link_column
    from empAnd the JS function fx as function fx(emp,rgId) {
    $x(rgId).checked=true;     // checks radio on this row
    modalWin2('f?p=&APP_ID.:' + emp + ':&SESSION.::::SAVE_STATUS:N'); // popup page call
    }varad

  • Unable to use field value as link icon in linked column

    I am building an interactive report which includes a linked column. I would like to display an image link which is based on a value in the row named ICON. On the Report Attributes tab, in the Link Icon field of the Link Column attribute, I have set up the Link Icon definition to be <img src="#WORKSPACE_IMAGES##ICON#" alt="">. It resolves the #WORKSPACE_IMAGES# substitution string, but does not resolve the #ICON# placeholder. The only workaround I have found is to build out the entire href string as part of the query and simply display it as a field in the report. However, I would prefer to use the attribute method as it is much cleaner. Can anyone tell me if this is possible or have I hit a bug? Thanks.

    Hi,
    it works the same if you put the placeholder into your column attributes of the ICON-column in your dynamic report. As I read your previous post again, I came to the conclusion you want to use the column in the more "general" "Link Column" of your interactive report. I agree that you can choose the column from your report using "Pick Dynamic Query Column", but the substitution will not work. I'm not sure whether the bug is the non-working substitution or that the Picker-widget is provided, since you don't have the column as a javascript link below the text field as you would have in the column attributes. I think it's not intended to be possible to reference other columns in that context, but you'll either have to put the reference into the actual column's link attribute or use a static image for all links.

  • Link column from an interactive report to insert a row in a tabular form

    Hi, I need your help, i'm new on APEX and i really need to make a "link column" from an "interactive report" to insert a row into a "tabular form".
    I mean that when you click the "link column" instantly create a new row in the Tabular form with the information of the linked row on the interactive report. Its something like that.
    I really appreciate your help.
    Ricardo Capuz

    Hi Ricardo,
    You can use the following code as per your requirement (this is just an example),
    (In this case IR report is in Page#1 and Tabular form is in Page#2),
    On Page#1, Create a hidden item (i.e 'P1_ID')
    IR Report query as like the below,
    select empno,
    ename,
    job,
    mgr,
    hiredate,
    sal,
    comm,
    deptno,
    empno "copy"
    from empUse the below JS code in Page HTML Header section,
    function f_insert_row(pSub)
        $s('P1_ID',pSub);
        doSubmit('ADD');
    Edit  Report Attribute -> copy column -> Under Column Link
    Link Text: Select your column name (i.e. #EMPNO#)
    Target: URL
    URL: javascript:f_insert_row(#EMPNO#);
    Then create a process to insert like below,
    BEGIN
    insert into emp_test (select * from emp where empno=:P1_ID);
    END;Process condition as * Request=Expression1* in Expression1 as 'ADD'.
    At last, create a branch to Page#2, Check 'include process success message' and with the same condition as * Request=Expression1* in Expression1 as 'ADD'.
    Thanks,
    Lakshmi
