Question

Pricing of creative mp3 playres here in the Philippines isn't right. A zen micro is P2000(US$25) a neeon is 4000($250) and the zen micro photo is P6000($290). Now compare it to the price of Ipod,
2Gb & 4Gb Nano P4000 & P6000($250 , 290) I know the micro photo has 2x capacity compared to nano but the nano has the advantage in size, is flash, and is an ipod. Creative is basically unknown here.
The ipod photo 30gb is priced at 7000(US$30). Now who in their right mind would buy the micro photo when they can get the ipod photo with almost 4x more capacity for just $20 more. And now the ipod video just came out priced at P20000($360) which makes the micro photo obsolete. And by the time the vision:m gets here theres a new and better ipod already.

What good is a 30 gig player if it doesn't support subscription music services? Who would want to buy 30 gigs of compressed music at 99 cents a song? How many people have 30 gigs of MP3 music from their CDs?
As for the Apple Nano, having 2 gigs or 4 gigs of flash memory storage is interesting, but not very useful since the battery in the ipod Nano can't be easily replaced with a charged one when it runs out of power. I would get so frustrated not being able to listen to music until after the player is recharged when the charge in the battery runs out. I prefer to have an N200 or Nano Plus with an FM radio that takes AAA nimh rechargeable batteries. AAA nimh rechargeable batteries are cheap, under $0 for 4. I can charge 4 at a time in my charger. For an extended trip I can carry a bunch of AAA alkalines(they cost me 27 cents each) for hundreds of hours of music without the need to recharge. Will you carry your notebook pc and its charger on trips to recharge an ipod Nano? Many people don't even own a notebook computer.
