Is enabling VI Scripting in Target properties without any functionality?

In the properties of the target "My Computer" (in a LabVIEW Project), I can enable and disable VI Scripting. But I do not see any effect of this setting. Only the global settings (Options) do have an effect. Can anybody confirm this?
Some Details:
I'm using LabVIEW 2013.
I tried with Scripting enabled in the global options and disabled in the project properties and the other way around. I opened and closed the projects and restarted LabVIEW.
A description of the effect of this setting is in the LabVIEW help.
The property of the target is in the category "VI Server", the box "Show VI Scripting functions, properties and methods" (see image below).

Hi,
the global settings enable VI Scripting for your entire project. After that, you enable VI Scripting for your desired target systems, which is "My Computer" in your case.
But you're right - I tried it and the settings in the "My Computer" properties had no effect, only the global settings. I will try to get further information on this behaviour, maybe there's something we missed or it's a bug...

  • Firefox 14 keeps crashing upon loading. Maybe sticks open for 10 seconds, but without any functionality. Then closes and asks me to restart or close.

    I have tried reinstalling, opening it in safe mode with add-ons disabled as well..
    I don't get anything from the crash reports either, as it wont allow me to see it.
    I have tried everything that I possible could think about..
    I'm lost on this one.

    Ok, go ahead and do these steps:
    First, verify you have a backup copy of your profile ([[Recovering important data from an old profile]] will show you how to, as will [[Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles]] ).
    After doing that, uninstall Firefox from your computer. Use the Add Remove programs inside your control panel to do that.
    Then, open up your Computer, go to the C:/ Drive. Go to Program files (it may be called Program Files(x86)), and find the Mozilla Firefox folder. Delete it.
    Then, click your start button, type in %APPDATA%, and press Enter. right click the folder called Mozilla (I would make a copy of this folder first) and click delete.
    Then, restart your PC.
    Now, go to [http://www.getfirefox.com www.getfirefox.com], and re-download Firefox and reinstall it. Does Firefox work now, or at least provide you a crash ID?

    We have developed a ID part and reused the IR part.Interface is successfull end to end in both ABAP and Java Stack and file has been created in Target but without any data.
    I think we need to do changes in Content Conversion.
    Below are the details which we have using in Content Conversion.
    Name                                                              Value
    ListPrice.fieldSeparator                                     ,
    ListPrice.ProcessFieldNames                        fromConfiguration

                                                                         ,LineID,UpdatedDate
    can you please give me the parameter which we need to use other than above and give me the proper reason why target file has no data.

  • Firebrand - a script to brand firefox without recompiling

    This is the initial thread for firebrand, a script for branding firefox without recompilation. Firebrand is a simple bash script, which replaces some text strings and the icons in an already installed instance of the firefox package.
    There are several versions/revisions of the script in this thread, but they can basically be divided into two "main" versions, or "branches" if you will. The earlier version needs to be updated for each new Firefox release. The later version is coded more generally, and should work for all Firefox versions.
    The latest general script is mekwall's revision of my latest version of the script, updated to use the proper icons. You can either use the PKGBUILD in the AUR (creds to Lucky) or just download the script in mekwall's post. If you do the latter, you need to make it executable before you run it, chmod +x firebrand, and then run ./firebrand. You need to be root for it to work properly.
    Lucky, who added the script to AUR, also started a git repository.
    To revert Firefox to the original branding, simply reinstall the firefox package.
    If the general version doesn't work (for instance, you still see the codename or the non-branded icon anywhere), try litemotiv's version. litemotiv's script is based on the earlier script, which needs to be updated for each new Firefox version. To make litemotiv's version work for other Firefox versions than 3.0, edit the FIREFOXDIR, FIREFOXSTRING and FIREFOXSTRINGPREFS variables in the script; the following example is for Firefox 3.5, codename "Shiretoko":
    FIREFOXDIR=/usr/lib/firefox-3.5
    FIREFOXSTRING="Shiretoko"
    FIREFOXSTRINGPREFS="Shiretoko"
    According to hit, firebrand is available in archlinux.fr's repository, but the repos contains the earlier script, i.e. the version which has to be updated for each new Firefox version.
    ---------------- History note ----------------
    This thread was started on 2008-02-21, as I had some questions on the proper way to put firebrand on the AUR, which is why this thread is in this not-so-suitable subforum. The subsequent discussion made me rewrite the script somewhat and post it as a stand-alone script. The initial wording of this post is a little redundant now, but is kept below for the integrity of this thread.
    The version below in this post is not the latest version; see above.
    ---------------- Initial thread start below ----------------
    Hi,
    Prompted by this discussion I decided to make available (on the AUR) my small script that brands firefox without recompilation. With some sed:ing and copying it simply replaces the "Bon Echo" string from some files and replaces the Bon Echo icons with the official one(s) in an existing installation of firefox*. Afterwards it is just to restart firefox (and perhaps the DE to replace the firefox icon) and rejoice
    * Yes, replaces. To go back to the original Bon Echo "brand", simply reinstall firefox.
    I have two questions, though:
    1. Would the script end up in some legal grey-zone? The PKGBUILD does not itself contain any icons, but downloads them from a publicly available source repository for firefox. I myself at least think that no one here would object, since we already have the firefox-branded PKGBUILD in the AUR. ...or firefox-branded gets new company in the ...zone
    2. Since this is just a script I have made for my own personal... peace of mind, I have no URL to supply for the package. Does this matter?
    Below are both the PKGBUILD and the firebrand script if anyone is interested:

    I made some changes that make conforming to new firefox versions easier. Simply change FIREFOXDIR to point to the new dir and FIREFOXSTRING with the new codename. This one is already set up for Gran Paradiso (firefox-3.0.1).
    edit: FIREFOXSTRINGPREFS is the codename as it appears in the preferences, usually without spaces.  (may be the same as FIREFOXSTRING, as with Minefield)
    #!/bin/sh
    # firebrand - a script to brand firefox without recompilation
    # This script replaces and changes (a few) files in an existing firefox
    # installation. Run it after a firefox installation or upgrade, and restart
    # firefox. The program icon may not be (visibly) replaced until your desktop
    # environment is restarted.
    # To revert to the original brand, simply reinstall firefox.

  • Is it possible to delete extended properties without knowing the id?

    Hello,
    Can you delete any custom extended properties without knowing their ID?
    I took over managing a feature that used EWS to send emails to customers.The current code creates a new GUID, and thus new Extended Property, every time an email is sent.
    // Create a custom extended property and add it to the message.
    var myExtendedPropertyDefinition = new ExtendedPropertyDefinition(Guid.NewGuid(), "MyGuidId", MapiPropertyType.String);
    mail.SetExtendedProperty(myExtendedPropertyDefinition, "MyGuidId");
    // Send and save a copy
    mail.SendAndSaveCopy();
    Is there a way to delete any of the custom extended propeties without knowing the IDs?
    Thank you

    No you can't do that in EWS you need to know the details of the property you want to Read/Write or delete. EWS has no method of enumerating all extended properties either you would need to use MAPI to do this.
    >>The current code creates a new GUID, and thus new Extended Property, every time an email is sent.
     I'd question the design of this what where they trying to acheive ? Why not have ths same property with a different Value ? else using an X-header would be better idea at least then it will persist ouside of your Exchange infrastructure and even
    inside would be more discoverable.

  • Enabling Global Script Protection is not working while adding "&"

    Hi All,
    To prevent crosssite scripting attacks I ticked the the check box "Enable Global Script Protection" in CF admin. But it is not working , I mean not able to prevent the scripting attacks.
    Steps I followed
    1] I executed the below URL.
         https://xyz.abc.com/index.cfm?cardholder_number=&<script>alert(1)</script>
    2] In the fornt end I got a javascript alert message as injected in the URL.
    But this alert message should not come as I have enabled script protection in CF admin. Right????
    Now I removed "&" (https://xyz.abc.com/index.cfm?cardholder_number=<script>alert(1)</script>) from the above URL  then I was not getting the javascript alert message. Does this mean that script protection will not work if we are adding "&" to the URL????.
    I searched the neo-security.xml and its looks like below.
    <var name='CrossSiteScriptPatterns'><struct type='coldfusion.server.ConfigMap'><var name='&lt;\s*(object|embed|script|applet|meta)'><string>&lt;InvalidTag</string></var></st ruct></var>
    Can any one help me out to fix this.

    Abdul L Koyappayil wrote:
    But still one doubt remains why alert message is coming only when there is "&" in the URL??
    This happens with "&" because it is a special Javascript symbol whose purpose is to delimit - that is, separate - the key-value value pairs in the URL's query-string. For example, in the URL www.myDomain.com/index.cfm?a=1&b=2, the "&" delimits the query-string into the 2 key-value pairs
    a=1
    b=2
    Let us then consider the case where the URL is www.myDomain.com/index.cfm?cardholder_number=&<script>alert(1)</script>. The & will delimit the query-string into
    cardholder_number=
    <script>alert(1)</script>
    The presence of '&' implies there are 2 variables. However, there is only one '=' sign, which means there is just one key-value pair. In addition, cardholder_number is a legal name for a URL variable, whereas <script>alert(1)</script> is not. The browser therefore sends the following query-string to your application
    cardholder_number=EMPTY_STRING&<script>alert(1)</script>
    However, Coldfusion's scriptprotect feature will intervene and neutralize this to
    cardholder_number=EMPTY_STRING&<invalidtag>alert(1)</script>
    which is harmless. These will enter into Coldfusion as the URL variables
    cardholder_number=EMPTY_STRING
    EMPTY_STRING=EMPTY_STRING
    The special nature of '&' as delimiter is what prompts the browser to run the script. In fact, by default, browsers will run any Javascript that you place in the query-string. Run this, for example
    http://www.myDomain.com/index.cfm?<script>alert(1)</script>
    But what reason will I say if they are asking me why javascript alert is coming then.
    As you have just seen, the <script> tag cannot come in. The alert occurs at the browser - that is, at the client - but Coldfusion runs at the server. Communication between client and server is by means of the URL variables that the client sends to the server. For the attack to be effective, it has to be sent in the form
    sneakyVar=<script>alert(1)</script>
    That is not the case here.

  • Managing Monitoring Templates Based on Target Properties (not Administration Groups)

    I understand how to create administration groups, based on a hierarchy of target properties.  In addition, I've assigned monitoring templates to these various groups with limited success.
    But I would like to be able to setup different monitoring templates, metric values, compliance configuration, etc based on the target properties themselves and not just the hierarchy.
    For example, lets say I have a hierarchy of administration groups starting with "Cost Center" at the top and "Location" as the next level.  Now, I want to set up some compliance rules based on Operating Systems and want to do this across all my systems, regardless of administration group.  (ie all Solaris 10 machines setup one way, Solaris 11 machines another).
    Can I do this?

  • Error message: "Java Script turned off, Enable Java Script" How to do this? I have gone into "Tools--then Options--Then checked Java Script--Then the "OK/Save" Button but this has not helped. What is the right course of action?

    Java Script is disabled on my HP laptop. I have done the obvious things. It still will not enable Java Script. What do I try next?

    Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
    See:
    * [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]]
    * [[Troubleshooting plugins]]
    If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
    * Use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
    * Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

  • Dynamically deciding the target directory without ESR objects

    Hi Experts,
    I have come across File to File scenario(NFS) where I have to serve 2 purpose in one scenario using single receiver communication channel as the client have more than 40 plants.
    1.     I need to copy the file from source directory to target directory without creating the mapping objects.
    2.     based on source file name the target directory path will be the 'target directory + First 4 character of source file name i.e.(Plant name)'.
    I am able to achieve the First requirement, can any one tell me how to achieve Second requirement.
    Thanks in advance.
    Ragards,
    Gopi

    Hi Inaki Villa/ Anupam Ghosh,
    Thanks for your previous reply. I was busy with some other WS related task.
    I have gone through the thread which uses java code to dynamically set the Target Directory.
    'Dynamic file name for pass-through scenario - Process Integration - SCN Wiki'.
    But the mentioned JAR files are not available on our clients PI System (PI 7.0) I tried by importing the required JAR files from other system but it was giving some error. So I decided to go with ABAP Mapping and I am quite successful in setting the target directory. I am able to view the Target Directory and Target File name in 'DynamicConfiguration' in SXMB_MONI.
    But it is not over writing the 'Target Directory' path mentioned in Receiver Communication Channel.
    Could you please help me in this? Do I need to set anything else?
    Regards,
    Gopi
