Is firefox capatable with mac?
Is firefox safe for macs?
I use Firefox almost exclusively. Occasionally, when others are having problems with other browsers, I'll open Safari, Chrome, or Opera; but my go-to browser is Firefox and has been for years.
Use it - very 'safe'!

NOT INTELL! So what is the appropriate version and please send me a link!!
Firefox 4 versions and later do not run on a PowerPC Mac.
Firefox 4 and later require at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac.

For an unofficial Firefox 9 compatible version TenFourFox that runs on PowerPC Macs with OS X 10.4.11 and OS X 10.5.8 you can look at:

Firefox 3.6.x (Mac OS X 10.4 and later) can be found here:

Which browsers will work with mac ver 10.4.11
which version firefox works with mac ver 10.4.11
Firefox 3.6.x is the last version of Firefox for PPC Mac's from Mozilla.
For older Macs that aren't supported in Firefox 4+ versions, try TenFourFox for PowerPC's running Mac 10.4.11 & 10.5.8 . <br />

I have stopped using Firefox as nothing I have done has fixed this problem. I have tried shutting down Firefox and rebooting it, I cleared all my add-ons and then added adblock back (that's the only one) but it still doesn't work. I've deleted large files so that I have more space - I can't think of anything else that will work. I have spoken to four of my friends with Macs and they are all having the same problem with Firefox since Mavericks.
Hi thanks very much for your reply. I did a few things like delete my add-ons and I don't have the problem of the disappearing cursor (sounds like a Sherlock Holmes story) any more but it seems to have been a mac issue as there were many complaints on the Apple forums of the cursor disappearing since the Mavericks OS and not just in Firefox but in multiple programs. Looks like they've fixed it somehow!

Running the new and improved 6.0.2 with Mac OS 10.6.8 on a Macbook Pro and Firefox keeps crashing. When I have Yahoo on my screen with MY FAVORITES on the left side I can't click on ANY of my favorites without a crash. I can hardly navigate anywhere without a crash. Have a MacBook Air running same OS and same Firefox with no problems. So what gives? What is happening and what should I do to fix this?
something similar has been happening to me for a a couple weeks (even before the most recent update, but now is definitely worse) on my 2010 MacBook Air. Firefox freezes upon startup, and then freezes maybe every twenty minutes or so when I'm actively using it, staying frozen for at least a minute or two. it drives me crazy.

I have Firefox 12.0. It won't run with Mac OS 10.4.11. I do not want to have to buy a new computer right now. I would like to go back to a previous version of Firefox that will run with my operating system. How can I download an older version of Firefox?
You can find the latest Firefox 3.6.x release in all languages and for all Operating Systems here:

Tried to download version 4, which replaced old 3.6, but I'm getting a message that version 4 will not work with Mac OS 10 (I have OS 10.4.11). How can I download previous Firefox version?
You can download firefox 3.6.16 here: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html

Can't install Firefox 4 on Mac OS 10.4.11. After I download it, the Firefox icon has circle with a crossline in it when I try to install.
Sorry, the official version of Firefox 4 requires Mac OS 10.5 or later, and an Intel processor.
You can download an unofficial version that works with 10.4 and PowerPC Macs from http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox/
or you can download the previous version from http://www.firefox.com/all-older.html -
I need to update my current version of firefox for the Mac and when I do it says it is not compatible for my system but I can't find anywhere that it says what the system requirements are for the new version of firefox for the Mac.
Firefox 4 requires at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac. There is a third party version of Firefox 4 that runs on OS X 10.4/10.5 and PPC Macs, for details see http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox
If you prefer, you can get the latest version of Firefox 3.6 from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
Mozilla are working to prevent Mac users with non-compatible systems from getting the notification about Firefox 4, and also not displaying the "Download Firefox 4" button on http://www.mozilla.com
For the full system requirements see http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/system-requirements.html -
Hi,
I tried downloading the free Firefox. As soon as I clicked on it a message popped up and said it wasn't compatible with my Mac.
My Mac is 104.11 and I cannot afford to buy another computer right now. The screens say it is compatible with MAC 10.4.11...
Any suggestionsSadly, Firefox no longer includes support for MacOS 10.4, however you can still use browsers similar to Firefox. <br>
[http://www.tenfourfox.com/ TenFourFox] is an unofficial build of Firefox for older Macs, and so will work on your computer. However since you are using a really old computer, it doesn't have all the features Firefox has. <br>
[http://caminobrowser.org/ Camino] is a community project to make the best Gecko-based browser for Macs around. Unlike TenFourFox it doesn't try to be Firefox, but instead does its own thing. <br>
[http://www.seamonkey-project.org/ SeaMonkey] is another community effort and is a continuation of the original Mozilla Suite which shares a few similar properties with Firefox. SeaMonkey is great for people who like their browsing experience retro. -
I am currently using Firefox Version 1.5.0.12 on my iBook G4 with Mac OS X Version 10.3.9. I have problems using Facebook. I cannot confirm friend requests or view messages in the inbox for instance. What can I do?
== URL of affected sites ==
http://facebook.comFirefox 2.0.0.20 is the last ever release for Mac OSX 10.3.9 and earlier versions, but that may not work any better because some large websites are blocking those older browsers or dropping support for older browsers like IE6 & earlier, and Firefox 2 & earlier due to security issues.
Using Safari on those websites ''(not enough total users for websites to be concerned about)'', or installing a new version of MacOSX are two solutions; or getting a new computer.
