My wife's email account appears to have been hijacked. When she sends an email, it is received ok, the address of the sender is "Microsoft Forum Microsoft Account"

iphones do not tend to get viruses unless they have been jailbroken. I guess your wife's email account has been hacked. I would change passwords.

I had her change her password via the kpasswd command in terminal and that changed her password on the server sucessfully however the laptop has FileVault on it. Filevault is not recognizing the new password just the old password.

I "think" the trick was unbinding and rebinding the computer account.
After unencrypting and trying to reencrypt Filevault would still not take the new password.
Rebooted the prompt to update the keychain appeared. Updated the keychain. Filevault would still not take the new password.
Unbinded and rebinded the computer account. It worked and let me add the user to filevault.

Not unless your phone is jailbroken. It is possible for email to be hacked, but not directly on the phone, it would be through the server. Of course, if someone had possession of your device, they could get into your mail.

If you have purchases on your iPod Shuffle that you want to sync back to iTunes, but are under the Apple ID you no longer have access to, you'll need to reset that account information. You can use this link to reset your password.

Suggestions for substituting a package name that constantly changes

I work with an organization that constantly changes their package names. I am tired of going to each program and changing them on a whim. I wanted to know if there is a procedure for making package names replaceable. This would be mostly a preventive method used to avoid using "find and replace" in huge, enterprise projects.
For example, one day it is as follows:
package com.megacorp.myclass;
The next day I want it to be changed as follows:
package com.mymegacorp.myclass;
Maybe the approach I was looking for was something like a .properties file or context containing the package name and I would substitute it using a variable like the following:
package ${constantly.changing.megacorp.name}.myclass;
This example my not be clear. Feel free to swing away as I cry tears of BLooD. Any info or suggestions would be greatly appreciated though. Thanks.

Refactoring is definitely what this kind of thing would be called. What you suggested isn't supported in Java, so you'd have to use some third party preprocessor-like tool (I've never looked into this sort of thing, I don't know what's out there) to replace your placeholders. It would have to become part of your build process, and could possibly introduce new bugs to your code if it didn't work properly every time. That sounds a lot more dangerous and dependent than using Eclipse's (or whatever IDE you fancy) refactor function, which is dead simple, and only has to be done once each time the package names change, so you can refactor, test, and forget about it.

Thank you. It is a personal phone, so yes I am using BIS. I have my email with sympatico (Canada) and its the same email address I use on my desktop. In settings (setup) it shows my email address and then user Name as my name..yet when I send an email it reads "Dear Account User" on the incoming mail "From" line. Very frustrating. go to,
Settings > Wi-Fi > select your new network name and join the network (by entering the password for it)
you should now be on your new network
For completeness, you could delete your old network by,
Settings > Wi-Fi > click on your old network name > Forget Network

I am after a script to save my current working file as PDF (with some settings) and then bring up a blank outlook email with that file attached ?
I do a lot of artwork and have to get it approved, I am getting bored of manually saving to PDF then going to find the file and then clicking send to > mail recipient etc etc
You know the drill guys.
So would it be possible for me to just run a script that does all that for me ready to insert the persons name or even add the persons name within the script ?

Use different names for different email addresses in mail

Is it possible to somehow override the name that is in the 'full name' field under account settings in mail.app? I send mail from multiple different email addresses all through one enabled account, which is a mobile me account. I use gmail's outgoing smtp server to accomplish this.
I don't want every email address that I send from to say my full name, but there is not an option to specify different names since it is all one account. Using Mail v3.6
Any ideas?

Hi, I have a problem about finding my own email host name when I am trying to send an email within JSP. What did you expect? You must provide a valid SMTP host name, NOT "hostname". You see the difference right?
Try with your ISP (Internet Service Provider) SMTP host name.
It should be something like: stmp.somename.com.
That's the one you must set in your email client (Outlook, Thunderbird, Eudora, Lotus Notes, whatever) to send your emails.

You can't add a smart mailbox, but depending on your iOS version you can add a server stored mailbox with an IMAP or Exchange account for sorting received and sent messages by category. Not possible with a POP account.

I want to set a display name for sent emails. For example: when I send emails using [email protected] and after receivign this amil in my inbox it says from [email protected] Is there any way that I can show display name for this like Kartik <[email protected]>.

it asks for a attribute messageFrom and passes it to SMTPTransport. I have tried setting different values for messageFrom like
messageFrom=Test Email
messageFrom="Test Email"
but it didn't work for me. it expects a domain name there (even if its dummy) like
messageFrom=[email protected]
Can you tell me at which place InternetAddress is been called by SMTPTransport so that I can write my own impl for it.
