can we copy a publishing page from one web application to another.
If we download a copy from pages library of one web application and upload it to another library of other Web application.
Once uploaded it came up with an error "This page is not using a valid page layout. To correct the problem, edit page settings and select a valid page layout.".

Calling a separate BSP Page from a Web Application Builder BPS page.

I have been creating a basic BPS application for manually entering data into BW.
We are allowing users 2 options:
1. Manual Data entry via a web Page created in the Web Interface Builder.
2. Via a Flat File using the process described in the "How To" Guide on how to load a flat file into BPS Web Page. This was done in the Mime repository via a BSP application (transaction se80).
I want to incorporate both method on a single web page (or group of linked pages) so that the user can choose which method that they want to use.
My question is: How can I call the flat file loading screen (created in se80) from the Manual data entry screen that was created in Web Interface Builder?

You dont have to create a new tab also. You can incorporate the newly created BSP page
below the Manual Entry layout. Do the following step
1. Create a text element below the layout in web application builder. Choose Edit long text
2.insert this code

Coming to your other question on "hard coding" the answer is you shouldnt specify the absolute url, just specify the relative URL and system will take care of the rest.
Eg. - '/sap/bc/bsp/sap/z100bps001/upload_hours.htm'

 My weblogic environment is a a front end proxy server (httpclusterservlet or apache) for
 session failover and static page serving, and a weblogic server. I have built my application as a
 web application creating a .WAR file which is deployed on the weblogic server (and defined in the
 weblogic.properties file). The problem is static pages in the web app cannot be found (because
 they are jar'ed up in the .WAR file). Am I missing something here? Has anyone encounter a similar
 problem?

Accessing files from custom web application

I have created a JSP application using UIX components that you can search for files within in IFS. After searching for the files I want the user to click a link and access the document, much like the webui interface in the out of the box IFS. I'm able display the list of files found but I'm not able to allow the user to click the in MY APPLICATION to see the files. What would be the url to access these files that are stored in IFS. PLEASE HELP.

How to update survey in Complaint from developed web application

Hello,
We've setup complaint management including the usage of surveys within a complaint document.
Complaint documents are accessed using the SAP GUI but will also be maintained using a newly developed application in the Enterprise Portal.
To access the survey using the external web application I need to know how to call the URL for the survey within a complaint transaction. I know how to setup the survey parameter xml but that allows me to call the survey irrespective of a transaction document. How do I call a URL that allows me to bring up a survey stored within a complaint document (is there for example a parameter I can pass to the URL indicating the GUID of the document the survey is in?

I have used local ejbs in other application servers, WebSphere and JBoss, from discrete web applications running in the same VM as the ejbs. The requirement for local interfaces is that the ejb and client be running in the same VM. Maybe Weblogic is different in that respect, but I doubt it. Why marshal data through a Remote interface when both components are in the same VM?
I have gone through the Weblogic documentation and have not been able to find an answer to my question, which is why I posted the original question the way I did. Weblogic does not put the ejb in the jndi namespace, but the ejb can be acquired through jndi. In the Weblogic console deployments view I can see the bean deployed as CustomerBean, but there is no clue as to its jndi name. This forum is peppered with different schemes for accessing an ejb, but none of those has worked for me, hence the different names I tried.

I'm afraid you cannot do that using <jsp:include/> tag.
However, you can achive this using <c:import/> tag which comes with JSTL core tags.
Please find the below example of how to go about.

You cannot call a page fragment in a seperate window or seperately in the same window...
Page fragment is used only for including a fragment in your page....
It is not a seperate page..!
To call a page fragment, you have to use the include directive...
eg :
<%@include file="Carrier_report_logo.htm" %>

Halloween can be a scary time -- especially if you Oops your APEX application. Of course you can't travel back in time but through the miracle of flashback, you may be able to get the APEX appl. back to where it was when. I tried these approaches and was successful with them.
*** This assumes flashback is running on the APEX schema(?). Your abiliy to go back a given number of minutes (or hours?) will depend on whether the saved values still exist in the database. ***
A) If you modify a page and want to go back to what you had, say, about 30 minutes ago.
1) Under the Utilities button (on that page), select History.
2) Determine how far back in time you want to go by examining the list of editing changes displayed.
3) Do a page export of that page (also under Utilities) and fill in “As of __ minutes ago”.
4) If you don’t want to lose what you've got on the “damaged” page, copy it to another page number for now.
5) Import the exported page file.
6) Check if you got back what you wanted.
7) If not, try an earlier (or later) time and have another go at it.
B) If you deleted the wrong page in the application!
1) Assuming the last thing you did was this deletion, export the entire application filling in “As of __ minutes ago”.
2) Just to be careful, import the file to a different unused application number. Don't overwrite someone else's application.
3) Copy the deleted page from the new application back to where you need it.
4) Clean up by deleting the unneeded application.
C) If, "Doh," you deleted the wrong application!!!!
1) Are you able to retire? If no, then proceed!
2) Create a minimal application (with a single page) with the same number as the one deleted.
3) Export the application filling in “As of __ minutes ago” with an appropriate number of minutes.
4) The export file should contain the code you need to restore.
5) You can inspect it with an editor.
Look about line 25 for" Pages: <number>".
For specific pages look for "page_000nn".
5) Import the file to the same appl. number. You should get everything back!
YMMV: Your mileage may vary!

When you say that "you have the data" you mean that you have HTML code data(<html><body>Hello World</body></html>)? If yes you should create an algorithm that "read" html tag and display text in the appropriate layout/font/size/color...
A solution could be simplify your HTML code (server side), so you can easly "decode" and display text.

 Production servers do not have a JDK installed. They only have a JRE. Therfore a java compiler is not present on the machine that the Web Application is deployed onto.
 On the development machine, when the server is requested to load the JSP it creates a tmpwar directory within the Web Application directory structure. This is then included in the resultant .war file thus:

The default Java compiler from sun lives in the tools.jar that comes with
 the JDK. Just add that to your set of JARs which are deployed in production
 and you should be fine. No need to install the full JDK - just make the
 tools.jar available to WebLogic.

Call a method in VB dll from Java Web Application

Hi,
I'm trying to call a method of a VB dll, from a web application developing with J2EE. Is it possible without JNI? And, if it is not possible with a tool, can you help me with an example of JNI using?
