Is it possible to access user account in an air android app ?

Is it possible to access user account in an air android app in as3 ?
The only thing I've found on internet is that one has to add to its manifest permissions to acccess account :
<uses-permission android:name="android.permission.GET_ACCOUNTS" />
and this documentation for native android coding :
http://developer.android.com/training/id-auth/identify.html
thanks for any help.

There is no API in the AIR runtime to get user's accounts.
But you may write an ANE to get the same.

Can mean that your Mac can't find a system folder to boot from.
Try restarting while holding down the Option key. That should prompt the Startup Manager window where you can select the startup disk and restart.

If the disk is not available, then it's failing or has failed.
If you did not backup your important files, an alternative would be data recovery but it's expensive.

  • Create limited access user account

Is there a way to create a user account for my child where I can make invisible (or inaccessible) the drives that I use for my work? I haven't found that option in Parental Controls.

Thanks for your reply. There's a little confusion, as each drive lists three names:
Two list Me, (unknown) and everyone
Two list System, admin and everyone
One lists Me, staff and everyone.
What I was expecting was for each drive to list Me (primary account with Admin privileges), Admin (secondary account I created with Admin privileges), and Guest (child's account with limited privileges).
no, that's not how unix permissions work. they list permissions for drive owner, primary group and everyone. it also lists ACLs if any are present which give specific rights to various individual users but those would have to be set by hand and won't show up by default. group "staff" includes every user with an account on your computer. "everyone" means absolutely everyone including remote users without accounts. it's even lower than the guest account which at least does have an account and as such is a member of staff. so what you need to do is remove all permissions from staff and everyone. You can also add rights to various individual accounts and groups. for example, it would make sense to give read+write access to the admin group. this will exclude guest and parental controlled accounts but would automatically include any admin accounts you may have.

  • Accessibility & User Accounts

    Hi,
After all the great help on my first set of questions, and looking around the FAQs etc., I'm back
My wife is partially sighted. On my Windows XP system, she has her own user account with certain settings, eg. lower resolution to give larger screen elements. Larger font size, a large, brightly coloured mouse pointer etc. These setting are unique to her account, and have no affect on my account, which is high resolution and small icons / text.
I know icons and text can be made bigger in Tiger, but can the mouse pointer be changed? She has a really big pointer that is a bright colour on XP. Also, do the user accounts work the same way in Tiger? I'd like to set her up with what she needs without affecting my own account.
My iMac isn't here yet, so I'm getting all the information ready so I can set up and get underway with minimum fuss.
    Cheers,
    Pete.

  • Unable to access user account files in OS X when connected as external HDD

    Hi experts,
I'm having a problem with my mac mini (McM). I'm using my McM as an external HDD and it has mutiple user accounts on it. While connected from another mac, I'm able to see the McM listed in the left pane as an external device. When i select the users folder, I'm able to see the lists of my user accounts in it. The real problem starts when I try to look for my files in the default folders of my account in the 'Users' folder. This would be like Users --> My account --> (Desktop/Downloads/Documents...etc).  All the folders here are shown with a RED MINUS DOT on the folder icon with nothing inside it.
I have tried changing the users permissions for the folder but it doesn't allow and remains to be disabled. Tried changing the file permissions on the HDD itself, by selecting "Ignoring ownership on this volume" option but running into errors. Also tried copying the entire folder and sub-folders but the data is not available after the copy is done.
So I'm now looking for a solution as to how could I take a back up of my files from the McM HDD without having to format it. There's some really important data that I can't afford to loose. All of my data is stored in the default folders itself and I haven't created any additional/separate folders.
    All help appreciated. Thanks.

  • How can I access user accounts on Macbook running 10.4 without resetting passwords

Is it possible to access the desktop without resetting passwords?

Not if if you don't have auto log-in turned on.
    Resetting or changing a password:
For Snow Leopard or earlier:  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1274
If it's running Mac OS X 10.6.8 or earlier, insert a Mac OS X install DVD, restart with the Option key held down, click on it, and use the Reset Password utility.

  • Computer can't access user account at this time

Hello, my situation is this.I tried entering the wrong password to the point where the computer could nolonger access the account. So this is where I sit... everytime I try to access my account the computer tells me "can't access account 'BLAMEUS' at this time".....a little help....!

    Hi Blameus,
I assume you're referring to some kind of online account? You can try clearing the 'cache' of your browser. If this doesn't help, you can try clearing the 'stored cookies' in your browser... clearing the cookies will usually result in having to input username and password in all sites you visit that require one. Your username and password is also stored in the browser, so if push came to shove you may have to also clear or edit this or just the wrong password, especially if the URL of the site you are trying to access has the right username but wrong password stored, it will always input the wrong password. I hope you know what I mean...
    Good luck, Rick

  • Bug - User Account - Tied to PC Settings "App"

Accounts, or at least the main administrator account, are tied to the PC Settings App
Upon removing the PC Settings Application, there are certain commands that still require the app rather than running in the Windows GUI. This results in a silent fail when attempting to launch from either Control Panel or App Commands within

Does someone knows how to create a new user without having to share the same apps that i have installed on mine user account?

There are two Applications folder on the Mac. One is at Root and the other is in Home directory.
Any applications in the Applications folder as Root level can be executed by all users of the Mac.

  • No Start Menu, removed and added User Account then no "Built In" Apps - Build 1049

So quick history, was having problem with start menu not working under build 1044 for the second user I'd added to the machine (Microsoft account). Rebuilt using "Remove everything and reinstall windows". Seemed to resolve the problem for the newly
added user and was still working under the original user (also Microsoft Account).  Then along came build 1049 and now the same start menu issue occurred for the original user account.  So, as both were setup as admins, removed the original
user account, restarted, checked all data removed and added the account again.
First attempt added the account as a local account then added the Microsoft account after login, result = start menu working but no "built in" apps (store beta, insider app etc).
So removed account again and added again, this time using Microsoft account immediately, logged in and exactly the same result.
    Any ideas how to resolve?

You cannot use the Start Menu logging in as anything that would be in the BUILTIN\administrator group on the computer.  I had the same problem when I added the machine to a domain, thus domain admins is in the BUILTIN\Administrator group.
The reason being that the Windows 10 Start Menu is an appxpackage, and you can't run appxpackages using the built-in administrator account.  As is the case for example with Windows Store.  It doesn't however give you a warning message, you
just click on the windows button and nothing happens.
This is just total madness imv.  It kind of made sense when all the appxpackages where apps, but now they include parts of the OS, the OS is essentially non-functional when you log in using anything in the BUILTIN\ administrator group.
If you really want to blow your mind, go into PowerShell and run the command: get-appxpackage|remove-appxpackage
If you run that on Windows 8.1 it will remove all the bloatware apps for the logged on user.  Run it in Windows 10 and it removes various parts of the OS for that user as well, such as the Start Menu!

  • Photoshop Freezing on limited access user account

I am a computer teacher and when I log in as an Admin, no problems.  When the students log in and use Photoshop, the computers will lock up for a couple minutes at a time randomly.  No real pattern to it.  I have older machines, running XP, so it would be nice to abandon CS5, but I only have a license for Photoshop 6.  I have a 5-machine license for CS2 but they won't give me a lab license for it even though we spent big money to buy a site license for CS5.
Any ideas on how to allow my students to use Photoshop CS5?  I even tried updating to CS 5.5 and no luck.
I've tried the first set of suggestions on the Adobe web site including:
    Updating Windows XP
    Updating Photoshop
    Re-creating preferences
    Update video driver

Responding to some of your other questions asked, earlier:
The OS Temp folder is set via an environmental variable that you can view in a couple different ways.  Since I’m an old-timer I use DOS commands to do it:
    Start -> ( All Programs -> ) Accessories -> Command Prompt
    C:\...> SET
From the long list of things displayed  you should see TMP and TEMP pointing to somewhere.  This is where at least some programs store their temporary data.  You might compare the SET listing for the Admin user and the Student users to see what is different.
Not having access to the C drive might cause PS to use another drive for its temporary files and if this is a USB-attached or network-attached drive things might slow down significantly.   You should monitor the PS scratch-disk-file location while PS is doing things to make sure PS is actually creating its scratch-file there, rather than some other, lower, location.  Do the students have to use a USB-flash-drive for storage?  If so, what happens to PS if you remove this to make sure PS is not using it, and/or does the access light flicker on this USB-attached device at points when the students aren’t reading or writing things to the drive, themselves, like PS or the OS is doing something with it?
You mention you cannot change the scratch disk.  Is this because there is only one internal drive and therefore only one item to choose from, or are there other locations shown but PS isn’t allowing you to choose them?
From your description of what is happening, I’d guess it is a memory problem, where at some point the OS needs to swap virtual memory and real memory and this can be very, very slow depending on how many little chunks the memory is allocated in.  XP especially seems to have a problem with this.  A way to monitor this is to go to Task Manager (right-click on your task bar and choose Task Manager) then go to the Processes tab and use View -> Select Columns… to add some memory-related columns so both Virtual and Physical memory are shown.  I don’t have access to an XP task-manager and Windows 7 does things differently so I cannot tell you exactly what the columns are called.   What you’ll likely see with Task Manager open is that at some point when the computer is very slow, the physical memory number will be counting down or up very slowly, in just a few K at a time, when there are many 100s of MB of memory allocated, and only when the PM and VM are stabilized will the system start to respond, again.  Also enable the Page Fault Delta column.  This will tell you how much the system is swapping between VM and PM every second.  The numbers might be sporadically very high in the 1000s or 10000s but if they remain very high for sustained periods, then your computers need more memory, keeping in mind that the maximum memory a 32-bit Windows system can use is about 3GB and each program will get much less than that.
It’s also possible that your students’ virtual memory settings are set completely different than the Admin settings.  You can check that in the Advanced tab of the Computer or My Computer -> right-click -> Properties -> Advanced, then Performance and  The Advanced on Windows 7, I forget how XP does it but somewhere similar.  The settings will be how big the minimum paging file is, how big the maximum is, what hard-drives the paging file is on, and whether the system can manage it or you are setting these things, explicitly.
How much memory do these computers have?  How big is the system paging file (check in the Performance tab of Task Manager) and does this change between Admin and Student users?  Are the PS settings for memory any different between the Admin and Student users?
Another thing that can cause PS to slow down is a network-connected printer connection timing out.   Do the Admin and Student users have different access to network printers?  You might try removing/deleting all network-attached printers to see if things improve.

  • Is it possible to delete user accounts in Messages?

When I went into Messages to set up an account, it somehow listed more than one account. Now I cannot seem to delete the second account that was created, and I think when I log into one, they both log in. It appears to be sending messages twice. I am not able to select the "-" button to delete the extraneous account. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    HI,
If in the process of setting up your Apple ID as the iMessages "Account" there have been some "extras" created you will have to do the following:-
Make the Finder the front App (listed in the menu bar)
    Use the Go Menu
Hold down the ALT key and select the Library at appears.
    Open Preferences
    Find the file com.apple.imservice.iMessages.plist
    Drag it to the Trash
    Restart Messages
You may have to reset the iMessages/Apple ID up again but the "extras" should be gone.

  • Two user accounts, one itunes, and updating apps

This may be just a rant, but perhaps somebody has some ideas for how to fix this.
My wife and I both have iTunes accounts, and we have material, including apps, from both accounts on our main home computer.
Frequently, the Apps icon shows that there are 'updates' for the various Apps. Like a fool, I click on the button and see what updates there are. So far, so good.
When I try to download updates, though, I have all sorts of issues. The most common is that it says something like 'sorry, bozo, these updates are for the other account, not the one your logged into right now. log into the other account and come back.'
That's the kind of thing that is just a plain stupid pain. Why in the **** can't it just keep the account information available and just download the blasted updates? I don't want to have to log into other accounts. I don't have to when I download updates on my iPhone (which also has some apps from both accounts) – why do I have to do it in iTunes?
    Bleep, bleep, BLEEEEP!
It does a bunch of other things that are equally (or more) stupid, too. Sometimes, it gives me a message that I "can't update this software since I have not owned the major version of it". I'm guessing that this is related to the account thing, too.
iTunes people: For the love of Pete, please, please, make the multiple accounts on one iTunes feature more user(s) friendly.
Everybody else: please tell me if there is some sort of secret trick for making all these problems go away.

I still think this is stupid. Maybe I'm one of a small minority that has more than one iTunes account active in a single iTunes library? Or is this a common situation?
