Computer can't access user account at this time

Hello, my situation is this.I tried entering the wrong password to the point where the computer could nolonger access the account. So this is where I sit... everytime I try to access my account the computer tells me "can't access account 'BLAMEUS' at this time".....a little help....!

Hi Blameus,
I assume you're referring to some kind of online account? You can try clearing the 'cache' of your browser. If this doesn't help, you can try clearing the 'stored cookies' in your browser... clearing the cookies will usually result in having to input username and password in all sites you visit that require one. Your username and password is also stored in the browser, so if push came to shove you may have to also clear or edit this or just the wrong password, especially if the URL of the site you are trying to access has the right username but wrong password stored, it will always input the wrong password. I hope you know what I mean...
Good luck, Rick

  • You are unable to log in to the user account at this time

I am facing this problem for some time now. Can anyone give some hints?
By the way. Excuse me for my English. I am not a native speaker.
I have a MacMini with Snow Leopard Server (10.6.7 since yesterday) wired to two iMacs (10.6.7), two PC's running Windows and a Time Capsule/Airport (7.5.2) which is wirelessly connected to a MacBook Air (10.6.7), iPad and iPhone.
The PC's use file sharing (SMB) which works fine.
The Server has some network accounts. Home dir is on the server.
At one iMac, I can log in to a network account. E-mail, iCal on Server, sync with iPad and iPhone. Works fine.
At the second iMac, I can NOT log in to any network account. Window shakes, saying "You are unable to log in to the user account at this time" and "Logging in to the account failed because an error occurred". In Terminal window, I can reach /Network/Servers/do.main.name/Users. Using the Finder, I can access all my files. If I shut down the first iMac, I can log in.
At my MacBook, I can not log in to my network account. In Terminal window, I can Not reach /Network/Servers/do.main.name/Users. I get "Users: Host is down". But using Finder, I have access to all my files. Shutting down both iMacs doesn't help. Airport settings see to be correct.
Where do I have to look. On the Server side? Using Server Admin and Workgroup Manager (from any client) I can not see anything strange. In WGM, multiple login for the network accounts is enabled. I even have Guest Access enabled for AFP (both in the sharepoint and in AFP settings).
    Anyone?

  • Switching account to new computer can't access old account w/changed email

I'm trying to access my itunes account on a rarely used pc that was used for my ipod and authorize my account on a new computer. My itunes account had my old email address and I forgot the password, so when I try to access the account and answer the security questions to send a new password, it ends up offering to send it to my old email address which is no longer valid....how can I access the account to change my email, and de-authorize my old computer and get my music etc. synched with my new one?....maybe I can just set up a new account on the new computer and dump my music from my ipod to it?

To remove the iCloud account you need to delete it.
Settings > iCloud > scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Acccount

  • New computer - can't access itunes account

I have a relatively new computer and an ipod I haven't updated in a long time. I have just tried to create a home share account to see if i can access my old stuff and update but it's not recognising my account and/or password
    HELP

First of all you should really post this in Itunes forums cause you might get more hits on it.. Anyway.. You can only authorize up to 5 comps on one itunes account.. This does not include iOS devices. Those you can have 10.
So to fix this issue, open itunes, hit store on the left side, click log in (or your e-mail address if you are already logged in) in the top right hard corner of the page. One you log into your account you will see a a little area where it says you authorized 5 out of 5 comps. Below it should be a button to clear all those out.  Itunes will de-authorize all computers on the account then you need to go back Store tab in the menu bar and select authorize this computer.
Remember it will deauthorize all your computers, so you need to re-authorize any other computers you have.

  • How can I access user accounts on Macbook running 10.4 without resetting passwords

Is it possible to access the desktop without resetting passwords?

Not if if you don't have auto log-in turned on.
    Resetting or changing a password:
For Snow Leopard or earlier:  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1274
If it's running Mac OS X 10.6.8 or earlier, insert a Mac OS X install DVD, restart with the Option key held down, click on it, and use the Reset Password utility.

  • Can't access my account after time machine hard disk restore. HELP please.

i was attempting to partition my hard disk with boot camp when an error message appeared saying that it could not be partitioned and to backup my hard disk, reformat and restore using time machine, then run boot camp again. i did this and now i cannot access my account. at the log in page my password is accepted but a message appears saying that i am unable to access my account at this time due to an error (error not specified). any suggestions please.
    thanks :-)
    triggs.

just been reading through various posts on here and it seems that timemachine does not backup file vault home folders. Thanks for the warning message apple. i have wiped my harddrive lost all my home folder and am now panicking becuase some of the data was for a charity that i help out with and can't exactly go asking for the information again. i presume if my old home folder was there i would see it in the user account on my external drives backups? any help would be appreciated but  think i am now losing the will to live.
Cue the massive shouting match when i have to explain this to the charity secretary

  • I mistakenly moved my apple keyboard layout bundle to the trash can and now I am unable to log onto my computer.  I can't type anything so I can't access my account to get back onto my computer.

I mistakenly moved my apple keyboard layout bundle to the trash can and now I am unable to log onto my computer.  I can't type anything so I can't access my account to get back onto my computer.

restart and hold Command+r to enter in recovery mode and ill allow you to repair your OS X installation. If you cannot repair it, then just create a new user, as usually issues with keyboards are rooted in the user's account.
    Good luck

youy probably will have to force quit - wait long enough that you are sure no disk activity is taking place - if launching iPhoto does not work after the force quit Back up your iPhoto library, Depress the option (alt) and command keys and launch iPhoto - rebuild your iPhoto library

  • My daughter will be leaving for college. Can she access our account on her computer and sync her ipod to that computer?

My daughter will be leaving for college. Can she access our account on her computer and sync her ipod to that computer?

She cannot sync to that computer unless she has access to it, or is on the same wifi subnet as it is.
I think you mean can she access your iTunes account from another computer?  As long as she has your AppleID and password, she can access your accounts in iTunes so you can continue to share purchased products.
I imagine she will want her own iCloud accounts and iMessage accounts, so you and she are not sharing the same emails, contacts, messages and so forth.  To do that, just have her create her own AppleID to use when creating her iCloud account and her iMessage login account.  These services are completely separate from the iTunes or App store, so having different AppleIDs for purchased content and other services is fine on a device (lets your family share purchases, but keep everything else separate).

  • I can't access my library on this computer. How do I get support that I makes sense?

What am I supposed to do here? I want to be able to sync my iPod Classic but I can't get any library information. Sorry, but this is getting to be more and more BS. I hope you all enjoy discussing my problem. If anybody can help me, let me know if there is some way to do that. Thank you.

Just so you understand this correctly, this is Support - here. However, your question needs to makes sense, and for that, we (or at least I) need more information.
    To add to TheGraywolf's post:
What do you mean by "Can't access your Library on this computer"? If you mean songs that you've purchased from the iTunes Store, have you authorised your computer so that songs download from the Store?
If you can't "access" the Library, do you get an error message when you try? What does it say? (Precise text please.)
Have you previously been able to access this Library?

yes, you are allowed concurrent installations and activations on, up to, two computers.
by signing out of one, you can activate on a third etc.

  • As Admin I can't access users home folder - (usershare)

How can I access user's home folders
Setting up a new server and copied users home from SBS 2003 but having setup all the users I cannot access the users home folders as Admin at the Server console.
Obviously I can login to a users PC and upload the files from the but...
This is something I need to do frequently for users.
    *** Edit ***
If I enable the disabled "Administrator" account - I am then able to access the folders!
(I would like to keep Administrator account disabled)
I added Admin to the Administrators group but that didn't work either!
I suppose I I work around by enabling administrator account but would much rather allow Admin to have same rights.

    Hi
There is a GPO that controls the Redirected Folders.... the default in SBS is to restrict users redirected folders exclusively. That means 'Administrators' can not access the files, only the specified users who own it.
Ironically i also find this restricts viewing the files on these folders in the proper backup
To fix this you need to do a number of steps.
    1. First of all remove the tick from the GPO for Exclusive access to redirected folders. When this is done any new users you add, the administrators (security group) will be able to access the folders and files.
However this will not fix the ones made when the PO exclusivity was enabled. To fix this there are methods on this forum about PowerShell access, and guides, all very complicated... but neded if you can;t access your users accounts. Like you I created 3
users before noticing this GPO issue.
I found a way around it.
    User 1 is restricted.
    1. So go to a client computer and log on as User 1
    2. navigate to \\server\redirected folders\User 1
    3. Select the Documents folder and right click, properties, security
    4. Add the Administrators (note the s, administrators, not administrator) and give Full Control
    5. Do the same to the Desktop Folder
You need to do this for each User that is restricted, as each User that is restricted. Each User owns their Desktop and Documents folder and can therefore apply whatever security they like to it.
The difference the GPO exclusive makes is whether or not Adminsitrators are added to the security for those folders, you are just manully setting this up
You do not need to take ownership, do not need to run powershell. Admitedly if your users are remote users, and you are never at the clients with the server, then I agree maybe the Ownership and Powershell route is the way to go, but odds are you will visit
the client and be able to do this on site s the user is logged in. This is the quickest and Easiest way

  • HT202213 I have 3 users on one computer with 3 unique user accounts.  Each have unique ITunes accounts.  How do we share our music libraries using home sharing?

I have 3 users on one computer with 3 unique user accounts.  Each of us have separate and unique ITunes accounts.  How do we share our music libraries using Home Sharing?  Everything that I can find talks about sharing between networked computers, but this is all on the same computer.  I just want to share between ITunes accounts.  Thanks!

Hi b noir, I also have two users on one pc with two different iTunes libraries.  But I also want to put them onto an external hard drive so that I can free up some memory on the pc.  So I figure I need to consolidate the two users iTunes libraries first before moving to hard drive?  But not quite sure how to do that on the iTunes 11?  Thanking you in advance!!

  • 1 computer, 3 Mac OS user accounts, iTunes account for each Mac OS user, authorization problems

We have 4 computers for 3 people in our household: 1 iMac (recently purchased), 1 MacBook Pro, and 2 MacBooks. We were previously running off of just the MacBooks (1 for each person), but we decided to buy the iMac and use it as a hub for all of our pictures, music, movies, etc. We were sold on this idea after learning about the "Automatic Downloads" feature, where all content would 'just sync'. We each have a separate Mac OS user account on the iMac, with our own separate content libraries. We each have a separate iTunes/AppStore account. It seems like a good idea until...
When I tried to turn on Automatic Downloads in iTunes on my iMac, I got this message: "You can auto-download purchases on this computer with just one Apple ID every 90 days. You cannot associate this computer with a different Apple ID for 87 days". I tried to turn on Automatic Downloads on my MacBook Pro, when I got this message: "You can auto-download purchases on this computer with just one Apple ID every 90 days. You cannot associate this computer with a different Apple ID for 90 days". I did not necessarily want to download the apps/music/books to this computer anyways, as the reason we bought the iMac was to serve as a hub for all of this content, but it was still frustrating to see that message.
I have tried everything suggested on the authorization troubleshooting pages and forums (e.g., authorizing, de-authorizing and de-athourizing all, and reauthorizing), but I have not had any success. I have contacted Apple several times, but I get tips on how to ensure that I have the most up-to-date version of iTunes on my computer, or how to manually download pre-purchased content. I will not begin to explain how frustrating these low-level responses are when the issue is much larger.
I have a few theories of why this is happening, one of which is that we will only be able to authorize one of the users iTunes accounts to this iMac (despite the fact that we are using separate Mac OS user accounts). This may be the case if iTunes authorization identifies or registers the computer based on its serial number (or some other unique identifier), rather than the Mac OS user account. If that is the case, then I suspect that purchasing this iMac as an automatic download hub for 3 separate Mac OS users was pointless, and I will gleefully warn anyone away from trying to do that.
So my question(s) read(s): How does iTunes account authorization identify/register with the computer? Is it authorized to the computer serial number, or could it be authorized to a Mac OS user account?
However, if my above theory is true, then my question is: Do I have any other options?
    Thanks!

I just had this problem because I logged into a friend's account on the computer I'm on now, and used the Previous Purchases feature. Well, that in turn deactived my use of the iCloud and iTunes Match on this computer when I signed back into my personal iTunes account. iTunes Support was no help, they just gave me a scripted response I would find online myself. Tried many different things, but what actually worked, was changing the Computer Name on this computer, and rebooting. Now, iTunes recoginzes this computer as a new device, yet, still is one of the 2 authorized computers on my iTunes account. Try changing the Computer Name on your troubled machine, then try associating it once again, see how that works out for you.

  • Can't access other accounts

Suddenly I can't access other accounts in my Mac, everything works fine but when I choose to log into other user account it just remains in the progress bar and never logs in, even if I create a new user account it does not let me in (password or not). The information is intact but I just can log into the administrator account (no changes has been done in the accounts administration since they where created, everything happens in a sudden)

With 10.3.9 you would go System Preferences-> Accounts -> (click on an Account)-> Limitations, then either No Limits or Some Limits depending how they were originally set up.
You can adjust the criteria at this point.
You may want to try deleting an account that is least used and re-adding a different one in its place. This will give you an account to experiment with to see if it behaves as the other accounts you're having trouble with.
You'll likely be able to solve the problem by seeing what is different between this new account and your old ones.
Hope this helps. If so please let the Apple Discussion forum know.
