Is it possible to add automatic insertions in a RH 7 template?
I'm new to RoboHelp and to HTML altogether, but learning quickly. I'm developing a help system with both General help and How to's. I was wondering if it possible to add automatic insertions in a RoboHelp HTML 7 template, as you would in a Word .dot with macros, or if I need to repeat creating tables and numbered steps all the time.

Okay, clearer now what you need to accomplish.
You could take a couple of approaches.
Approach one - Create a topic and define a table. Configure as you would like to see it. Then when you need it, you open the topic containing the table, copy it and paste it where you need to use it.

I also have a .csv file with the name of a jpeg in one column and a text description of each jpeg in a second column. Is there a way to automatically insert one jpeg (photo) and its corresponding text, each pair on one page, into a Indesign document?
I would also recommend to write the description into the meta data. This would allow to place a text frame above the image and it is possible to add meta information and file name automatically together with the image, when you place it or even in a prepared template.
Meta data information can be written easily in Bridge in the Meta File Workspace. -
Is it possible to add markups to a PDF that I am not the author of
Most of the PDFs I generate are from other applications (like Autocad) where I "print to PDF" to create the file. Most of the PDFs I recevie are generated the same way. Prior to Acrobat Reader 8, it was simple for me and my collueges to exchange information on these PDFs by using markup tools and resending them with markups. Since Acrobat 8 has come along, I now find it impossible to markup a drawing (no matter if I have created it using Print to PDF or if someone has sent it to me). I went to the knowledge base and see that the drawing has to be enabled for markup in one of 2 ways
In an open PDF, choose Comments > Enable For Commenting In Adobe Reader, and then save the PDF.
Start the wizard to initiate a shared review or an email-based review and follow the on-screen instructions. When you’re finished, commenting is enabled in the PDF that you specify for the review.
Well, there is no Comments selection in my toolbar. Second method is given by

An email-based review lets you track review status and merge received comments into the PDF.
Click Review & Comment and choose Attach For Email Review.
If prompted, enter your identity information to create a reviewer profile.
Follow the on-screen instructions to select the PDF, invite reviewers, and send the email invitation.
If your email application doesn’t send email automatically, you may need to answer alert messages and switch to your email application to finish sending the message
But there is no Review & Comment button to click.
So, can someone tell me, can I still do a simple markup of any PDF? Even if I have to jump through hoops can I? I guess I can understand Why Adobe has done away with this feature in their free tool, as they were not getting any revenue off of it, but it greatly diminishes the usefulness of Acrobat Reader and therefore all PDFs for me.

However, starting from Reader X it is possible to add simple markups to any file, unless it has been specifically disallowed by the creator of the file. -
Automatic insertion of file name in Pages footer?
I'm considering using Pages instead of MS Word. One thing I can't figure out is if it is possible to use a function to automatically insert the filename in the footer of a page (or anywhere else for that matter)? Having the file name on printouts is great for finding old files, and Word has such a function that inserts it when the file is first saved. It is a real time saver when using a template (or old file) to create new files.

In contacts there is the possibility to add a new event, as the birthdays, but they do not appear in iCal. Is there any way to make that possible? It is normal to have a person with his birthday, anniversary and others key dates you want to link to such person, but the only one shows up is the birthday. Hello I want to know if it's possible to add a new graphics card to the back of a Laptop not inside of it but on the back of my laptop ??? my graphics Card is a Intel 4000 graphics card is a terrible for gaming TERRIBLE !!!
Not sure where it would go on the back, but no the system is closed. There is no place to insert a graphics card or attach it. You will find some hokey stuff on the internet where people say you can plug a video card in the wireless card slot but those are a hoax at worst and at best they do not tell you that such a thing would not even perform as well as what you have and is likely to damage the motherboard.

Is it possible to add things to an iPad or iPhone without the use of iTunes?
My intention is travelling abroad for a year or two, and I don't want to take a laptop because it is too big and heavy. I have my iPhone, but I'm trying to decide if an iPad would be useful too. The problem is - because I wont have a computer with me, I wont have iTunes to add books/movies/music to either device. Is it possible to add stuff from any computer, and not a computer where my iTunes is set up? If the computer that I use (belonging to someone else) has iTunes on it, will my iPhone/iPad automatically try to connect and sync with that?

KarynYou can purchase and download content directly onto the device from the iTunes and App stores already on it.
You can use cloud storage (iCloud for apps that support it, or dropbox, box.net. google drive, sugarsync, 4share, etc) to move files to and from individual apps (things like pdfs, your own notes and so on).
You only need iTunes to backup really (although that is a very vital thing to do regularly, with any device)
However, to use a given store, you must have payment information and a billing address in that country associated with your AppleID. You cannot shop in a country foreign to your payment and billing address information. And your home store may very well be blocked (by IP address) when attempting to access it from a foreign location. -
We are trying to do a simple HEAR IT - SELECT IT type 'quiz' in Captivate 7 for an indigenous language project. Our target output is html 5 to web browser.
We have used the multiple choice question mode and have inserted IMAGES in place of text (although we left the question numbers visible)
The user should be able to click on a speaker icon to hear the audio file (as many times as they choose) and then select the correct image answer.
ALSO - Is it possible to add sound effects for a correct or incorrect quiz answer?
ThanksAttaching audio could be done to the Success/Failure captions, rather easily.You can put a shape button on a question slide, other interactive objects are not possible (Buttons on Question/Score Slides in Captivate 6? - Captivate blog). And have that shape button pause before the pause of the question slide. Use an advanced action with the Statement 'Play audio'. Don't use a simple action, because it will release the play head: Why choose Standard over Simple action? - Captivate blog
User will then be able to click that shape button as many times as he wants, because the play head will remain at the pausing point. When he Submits the question, the two step process will use the pausing point of the Question slide: Question Question Slides in Captivate - Captivate blog

Sometimes ago I posted an AppleScript which may perhaps fit your needs.
If you insert in a table pathnames of files stored in your HD, select the cell, trigger the script, open the file.

I need to load a GET url that si very long. On other browsers, I can load the url. In firefox 3.6, no.
There is an addons or a plugin so I can extend this limit? If yes, is possible to load automatically this addons when loading a certain page? thanks
The url is sometingh like this (this is correctly loaded, but it could be longer)Firefox should have problems with long GET data appended to an URL (long would be over 64k).<br />
If there are problems then it is possible that an extension is the cause of that.
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

Is it possible to add extra frames to the collage templates?
At the moment in using PSE10 Trail, and the maximum amount of frames i can see that i can use is 19, is it possible to add more???

GeorgieYou can use all of the frames in the content panel. After arranging your collage and clicking done, you need to save the file as a PSD file to preserve all the layers that were automatically created.
Then open Full Edit and click:
File >> Open
Then navigate to your PSD file.
If you open the layers pallet you will see that each photo in your collage has it’s own individual layer.
Select one of the layers (highlight it) then choose a from the content tab and click apply.

After choosing the MEN option for the Status field, click on the Change then the Following Screen will be displayed
Click OK and move Forward , it is just Alerting that Menusyst is a user interface .

Double click on the Menu bar shown in the Left side of the Screen .Such as the Menu bar will open .
Double click on the System such that list of menu will be displayed .

Deactivating of the SAP Standard Menu
You can just move to the MENUSYST Prgram through SE41 Transaction Code . then Select the MENU option which you had customized and then click the Function Code again in the SAP screen.
Then Message will be Displayed that Function MENU is Deactivated as follows .
Now Save and Activate the interface MENUSYST. Test the Program using the Initial Screen SE41
And check the System menu in the Menu bar ,then the My Option Menu is deactivated . -
Automatically inserting metadata
Hi,
Im trying to find a way to automatically insert metadata into new files as soon as they are created. More specifically just a name into the author section.
I have created a XMP template which i can insert when the document is open but I was hopeing to find a way to automate this to save keep bring the file infor up and importing the XMP.
The reason for this is so when a PDF is exported the author is automatically wrote into the PDF properties.

It can be done through scripting or if you use Templates, you can write that info directly into Template.

An alternative is to create a Page file with password in Pages for Mac, and save it to iCloud, then open it on the iPad using the password in iCloud. -
Is it possible to add a preloader to show while the graphics are loading?
I created a web site that has quite a few show/hide divs to work with the navigational menu on the left, which I believe is making the site load slowly. Is it possible to add a preloader to show up until the site is fully loaded?
The site originally had a flash movie that was set to load automatically. I removed this thinking it would make the site load quicker but it didn't help much.

What's making that page load slowly is the 57 hits on the server to request images, and the combined weight of those images (~3.3MB). Surely you don't need so many images. The menu could be done all text for starters. Note also that there is still a 120K Flash object being loaded. Add to this weight the incredibly voluminous CSS (oodles of absolute positioning), and the table-based approach, and you have made a simple layout into a lumbering behemoth!
