Is it possible to add non-contiguous instances of a subform

Hi there,
Our staff may fill out a form with say, 10 repeated subforms ("add instance"), then need to go back and add another instance, not after record 10, but after record 3. Or they may need to add records in alpha order.
How can I set up the "Add Record" button so that the instance is added at that point in the form, rather than at the very end of the records?
Am I explaining this clearly? They need to go back and add an instance in between other existing instances...

Okay, so I have dumb-designer questions. I'm entirely ignorant of how to use javascript, I'm just a layout person. Sometimes just by dumb luck I manage to adapt a script and make it work in one of my own forms, but I haven't made it happen with this one yet.
Is there any resource out there I can read for how to adapt a piece of script? Like a process that needs to be followed in terms of identifying objects correctly?
Sorry if it's a dumb question, it's been a while since I've tried to do anything with javascript and I'm not havin' any luck.

I am interested in making a menus dvd, but which besides
normal movies files, contains an ebook probably in pdf. Ideally a menu icon in the dvd would open the pdf, but simply having the file present on the disc is better than nothing. Can this be done in Encore, and if so, how?

Actually opening non-movie files in a DVD player is not part of the DVD specification... a DVD player is not a computer... so this does not work
As mentioned, you may add a folder to the ROM content... and then make an entry in your video (such as a menu that is only a title) telling the user to take the disc to a computer to access the files

How can I copy an Instance of a subform

I know that it is possible to create a new Instance of a subform with the addInstance() methode. Is there a methode to copy the values of all Fields from one Instance to another (for example to a new createt Instance).

I am not aware of any method that allow you to copy the values of fields in one instance of a subform to another subform.
Unless, your subform fields has "default values" that pre-determined at designing time. Otherwise, individual value from one field has to be assigned to the corresponding field in the new subform at run time.

Contiguous and non-contiguous multiple cell selection in JTable

I desparately need your help on this.
My appliaction contains a JTable. The users should be permitted to select multiple cells (both contiguous and non-contiguous) using
Ctrl + Click -- add that cell the already existing selection
Shift + Click -- add all cells in the range to the selection.
I like to have the selection behaviour as that in Excel (where you could ctrl + click on any cell to add it to selection).

How do you add non-Garage band instruments into a Logic project so that you can hear them on playback?

How do you add non-Garage band instruments (orchestral instruments) into a Logic Pro (8) project so that you can hear those insrtruments' sounds on playback? I've tried to understand and follow the Logic Pro 8 User Manual, but the process comes off as so complex and the writing so technical that it does not help but only confuses.
To be precise - I want to add instruments (orchestral) that are not offered in the current Garage band menu which is offered in the Mixer's channel strip menus for Logic Pro 8. To be clear, the instruments that are offered are Bass / Drum Kits / Guitars / Mallets / Organs / Pianos and Keyboards / Synth Basics / Synth Leads / Synth Pads. Most of these that I've tried seem to work and give their characteristic sound when placed in a particular channel and playback is clicked.
However - there is one orchestra instrument offered in the standard Logic Pro 8 Mixer channel menu and it's the item labelled "Performance - 000 flute 1 or 001 flute 1." And it is this instrument that presents a problem. When I click on it and choose it from the menu and enter it as the instrument of choice for a specfic channel / track in my Logic Pro project arrangement, when playing back the music for the overall piece this particular track, the flute, does not playback and produce the notes (Midi events) in the track in the sound of the flute. Instead, nothing comes out at all. I can't imagine why this does not work. Any ideas, anyone? Again, when choosing this instrument for a track and clicking the playback no flute sound is forthcoming. Why not? I have not tried them all, but when most of the other various types of keyboards, such as an electric piano or an organ, are chosen for a track the playback successfully renders the sound of these instruments. Why then does playback not produce the sound of the flute when it has clearly been chosen to play and sound the Midi events given it?
Anyway, the overall, larger issue for me is the inability I have to choose and get non-Garageband instruments (largely orchestral) to play the Midi events given on various tracks. If my guess is correct then technically, orchestral instruments not offered in the standard Logic Pro 8 Garageband Mixer channel menu are referred to as external Midi sampled instruments - still, IMHO the process is not clearly spelled out in the User Manual. The simple step by step process whereby a non-Garage band instrument, say an orchestral instrument, is placed in a channel replete with Midi event (notes) waiting to be played should be easy, logical and given in a simple to follow format, but is not.
What with all the talk of routes, busses, auxillary channels, GM devices, GM mixers, audio bins, libraries and audio files this Logic Pro User is confused to the max. Can someone please help me and, in simple English, describe the step by step process whereby presumably external sampled orchestral instruments can be successfully employed, in any given Logic Pro arrangement project, to render their characteristic sounds upon playback?
On my two Macs, one a laptop and one a much larger Mac, I have any number of the GSO (Garritan Symphony Orceshtra) and Vienna Symphony Orchestra instrument library samples - and yet - I've yet to figure out how to actually get them INTO a Logic Pro project of any kind! To put this as a question, even as a humble request, how can I make good use of these orchestral sample libraries in a Logic Pro project? Can someone steer my to a clear resolution of this issue. David, you understand that this is professional software and is not necessarily meant to be easy but is in fact designed to give the professional user as many choices as possible, that's why it's in the Pro Apps section. You WILL need to learn about buses, GM Devices, Audio Bins, Libraries...etc..etc if you intend to use Logic.
That said, you are looking in the wrong place in the channel strip.
May I offer you advice?

I encourage you to read the whole document as it will clear up many things... even though it's a Logic 9 document.

Is it possible to add a newline to a column?

Hi,
So I am wondering if it is possible to add a newline to a column in a SQL report? For example I have 4 columns I am selecting. I want the first two columns to be on one line then have a then the next two columns
to be on the next line. Is something like this possible?
I have tried things like
select column1, column2, ' ' || column3, column4but that doesnt seem to work.
Any help would be appreciated

Is it possible to add the HTTP_server to existing SOA/oc4j installation

I’m new to application Server 10.1.3.4 and have inherited a SOA implementation with 2 iAS homes.
The original is running an oc4j group underlying SOA. Subsequently they decided to use the “Rules Author” which requires the http server. So, my predecessor installed another instance with just the HTTP server.
We are life cycling our hardware and there is an opportunity to reconsider this 2 home implementation. Is it possible to add a component e.g. HTTP server to an existing instance ? If so can you point me toward the appropriate doc or ML note ?

Install OS, make all updates and install your favorite software. After doing this obtain some professional application like Norton ghost and create your own recovery image. You can save this image on HDD second partition, external HDD or even create own recovery DVDs.
You can also Google a little bit. Maybe you will find some similar application for free.

Add non-Roman characters to PDEText

Hi everyone,
Is there a way other than PDETextAddGlyphs to add non-Roman text to a PDETextObject. I've been trying to get Arabic and Cyrillic characters added to a PDEText object by adding the glyphs with no success. I'll list the method here so maybe someone can tell me where I'm going wrong. Most of this is straight out of the PDETextAddGlyph snippet.
1. Create a PDEFont from a system font that supports the characters I need. I'm using Arial, since the character map has the characters I want. For example, I'm using a Cyrillic character with Unicode code 0434. Arial supports that character, so I embed or subset Arial, using the createUnicode flag.
2. Create all of the objects I need to make this work, like the graphics state, text matrix, and text state.
3. I used the createGlyphRun from the snippet exactly to create the glyph run.
4. Stuff the glyph run, text state, text matrix, graphics state into a PDEText object by using PDETextAddGlyphs. That's where the cloud of smoke comes in. This returns "Bad Parameter".
I use all of the parameters for the PDETextAdd method, and it works fine. That leads me back to the createGlyphRun method. I got that from Adobe's SDK and it should work. I'm little stuck and would really appreciate some help.

I haven't looked at that yet. I was researching earlier today how to change the encoding from WindowsAnsi to some other encoding, but which one and how I haven't figured out yet. I need something that can support as many characters as possible, since we are looking to support Arabic, Cyrillic, and Greek for right now, then branch to CJK later. That's a bit more cut and dried by the snippet. I guess I'll have to find an encoding to match for now If you have any suggestions, I'd appreciate it.

Is there a way to copy non-contiguous words from a PDF

Is there a way to copy non-contiguous words from a PDF? Is there a way to use a template or mask that will isolate certian areas to be copied with spaces in between the words so that when you go to paste the contents into multiiple fileds, the separate words will pop into the appropriate fileds. The fields will be in a submission form.
Please let me know if this is possible.

How do I AI config for SCXI multiple non-contiguous channels

I need to configure a measurement of with multiple groups of thermocouple channels.
Using LV 5.1.1 (could use 6, but I am supporting lots of code built with 5.1.1), DAQ 6.8.1 (can up to 6.9.1 if it matters), PXI-6052E, SCXI-1102, SCXI-1303 (or TC-2095).(using SCXI addressing).
The problem occurs when I try to configure multiple scan lists with gaps between channels.
(see LV DAQ SCXI example SCXI-1102/1127/1101 Thermocouple)
example channel list:
ob1 ! sc1 ! md1 ! cjtemp
ob1 ! sc1 ! md1 ! 0:3
ob1 ! sc1 ! md1 ! 5:9
This gives an error: -10370 in AI Group Config.
Likewise if I use an individual channel in each address string. like:
...md1 ! 0
...md1 ! 1
...md1 ! 3
But, I can skip channels betwe
en cjtemp and the first channel of the next scanlist without error.
Also, I can add scan lists for other modules, like:
...md1 ! 0:3
...md1 ! 4:8
...md3 ! 12:14
without error!
What I really want to do is to do AI Config first for all channels, then start, then loop on AI Read and some processing & storage.
When I loop through the channel address lists (strings with contiguous channel sets e.g. 3:6) I get the same task # for all config calls. Then when I loop through the AI Start's for each , I get an error -10609 in AI Clock Config.
The thing is that I cannot necessarily have all contiguous channels, and I don't want to go through a sequence of {AIConfig, AIStart, AIRead, AI CLear} for each scanlist each time through. That takes too much time and resources.
Eventually I want to configure multiple non-contiguous scanlists in multiple SCXI modules.
But, for right now I need to do this for one SCXI module.
Anyone have any ideas?
How can I approach this.

Bottom line is you will not be able to skip channels on any SCXI module
other than the SCXI-1112. You will need to include the channels in your scan
list then discard the data later.
Either that or as the Knowledgebase suggests, use Virtual Channels. You can
then miss channels out in the scan list as you require. They actually get
scanned but NI-DAQ discards the data for you.

Enumerators with Non-Contiguous Values?

I have seen enumerators in labview that have non contiguous values, but i cannot figure out how to create them myself. Usually they are associated with calls to external .net or .dll libraries.
In this case the return values of a function I am calling are enumerated in hexedecimal, and are basically 1 value per bit. Is it possible to create such an enum? Of course I can handle the result as an int, but this is not as readable.

You can display it as a ring control... To the user, it would be transparent (and that is what you probably saw). Otherwise you will have to bit twiddle to get contiguous values for the enum.

I installed SQL Server 2012 to use Windows Authentication. An the tool I'm using to replicated data to the SQL Server 2012 database wants to use the (Server Authentication) mode. Is it possible to add a Server Authentication useID and Password?
Please let me know your thoughts.

You can change SQL Server Authentication by right clicking on the server instance and @Server Properties, Choose SQL Server and Windows Authentication Mode as shown in the image below
You have to restart the SQL Server for this to come into effect.
After this you are good to go for creating SQL Logins and using them.

Is it possible to add markups to a PDF that I am not the author of

Most of the PDFs I generate are from other applications (like Autocad) where I "print to PDF" to create the file.   Most of the PDFs I recevie are generated the same way.   Prior to Acrobat Reader 8, it was simple for me and my collueges to exchange information on these PDFs by using markup tools and resending them with markups.   Since Acrobat 8 has come along, I now find it impossible to markup a drawing (no matter if I have created it using Print to PDF or if someone has sent it to me). I went to the knowledge base and see that the drawing has to be enabled for markup in one of 2 ways
In an open PDF, choose Comments > Enable For Commenting In Adobe Reader, and then save the PDF.
Start the wizard to initiate a shared review or an email-based review and follow the on-screen instructions. When you’re finished, commenting is enabled in the PDF that you specify for the review.
Well, there is no Comments selection in my toolbar.   Second method is given by
Quickstart: Start an email review
An email-based review lets you track review status and merge received comments into the PDF.
Click Review & Comment and choose Attach For Email Review.
If prompted, enter your identity information to create a reviewer profile.
Follow the on-screen instructions to select the PDF, invite reviewers, and send the email invitation.
If your email application doesn’t send email automatically, you may need to answer alert messages and switch to your email application to finish sending the message
But there is no Review & Comment button to click.
So, can someone tell me, can I still do a simple markup of any PDF?   Even if I have to jump through hoops can I?    I guess I can understand Why Adobe has done away with this feature in their free tool, as they were not getting any revenue off of it, but it greatly diminishes the usefulness of Acrobat Reader and therefore all PDFs for me.

To enable this right you need Acrobat, not the free Reader.
However, starting from Reader X it is possible to add simple markups to any file, unless it has been specifically disallowed by the creator of the file.
