Is it possible to automate/script the removal of workflows from workflow archive?

We don't allow our CQ authors to activate content directly. They must activate their content by executing a custom approval workflow we'd developed as part of our first CQ project. As you can imagine this workflow is run very often. So much so that when it came time to upgrade from CQ v5.4 to CQ v5.5 there were too many for me to purge the workflow archive and leaving all those workflows in place caused the upgrade process to run for a very long time. At the time I was provided with a package for the CQ v5.4 environment that once installed provided a component (/apps/tools/components/purgewf/run.html) that I could then then leverage to kick off a process that given enough time would purge all of the workflows from the workflow archive.
Now that we are on CQ v5.5 I'd like to be proactive and develop a script that I can schedule to execute on a regular basis that would basically do the same thing as that component from CQ v5.4. Does anybody know if there's an easy way to do this with CQ v5.5? Could I simply install the same component that I was given for CQ v5.4 and then leverage curl to kick the process off as I've done that sort of thing before to kick off JMX operations such as runDataStoreGGarbageCollection. This wouldn't be a JMX operation but I'm thinking it migh actually be easier to use curl to kick of something like purgewf/run.html though I'm not really sure what I'm basing that on other than instinct.

Although I've one point of clarification I could still use some help with. The document provided by Sham, HC mentions within that it's possible to clean up workflows that have had a status of RUNNING for more than 1 day but it seems to be saying its neccessary to create a list of those workflow models you want this feature of the purge mechanism to act on. I've looked the Felix configuration over and I can't see that any of the properties there would accept a list of workflow model names and I've tried all of the various modes that are available for the process and none of them do this automatically by assuming any sort of default value for this list. Is this capablity really there? Not that I see the ability to purge RUNNING workflows as critical functionality for the purge process as the number of problem workflows with this status tends to be managable but if yet if there's a way to make it do it in addition to clean out the archive it would be nice.

there are many reasons not to update apps, wow, you probably just buy anything people tell you!! Sometimes you lose parts of an app with an update, like when shazam started limiting how many checks you could do. if you didn't update you would still be able to have unlimited downloads. OF course eventually you will have to either update or it wont work with a new operating system roll out , but that buys you a lot of time to re-evaluate shazam and see if you really think it's all that or not. if you would have updated your software right away like apple wanted you to last year, you would have been one of the millions that had all their info posted all over the web for every crook, hacker and thief to look over!! I;m guessing from your reply you probably are one of the ones that was security compromised. there are just 2 reasons out of a whole list of reasons why someone might not want to update their apps!! If you don't have anything helpful to say when someone asks a question, your not doing them or anyone a favor just zip and move along to something you might be able to help someone with

Scripting the Removal of Physical disk from VM

I have read this thread here which has helped me so far to create a script for the removal of a VM Hard Disk Drive

Remove

Re-add
PS C:\Users\Administrator> add-vmhardDiskDrive -VMName 2012r2 -ControllerType SCSI -ControllerNumber 0 -ControllerLocation 0
This gets me this in the Hyper-V settings:
I need the script to add the VM Hard Disk drive in with the physical hard disk selected automatically.
Is there a way to do this?
As you can see I am not a powershell expert, im not even an "expert"

The script I used for the removal and then re-adding of the physical disk is as follows:
remove-vmhardDiskDrive-VMName2012r2-ControllerTypeSCSI-ControllerNumber0-ControllerLocation0
Add-VMHardDiskDrive-VMName2012R2-ControllerTypeSCSI-ControllerNumber0-DiskNumber1-Passthru
I then automated it with task scheduler to trigger at 6pm everyday (30 minutes after rotation time)
The ISCSI controller type allows you to run the command whilst the VM is on.

As far as i know theres no tools on SAP to remove the profiles after certain date... when working with roles you can set a "valid to" field to make the role expire but with profiles this is not available.
What you can do is create a role as copy of the SAP_ALL profile and then set a validity so it expires when needed.

but still cannot answer the simple question whether or not it is possible, what I want to accomplish here

There are two slightly different types of catalogues.
TYPE A
products are more or less randomly placed on the spread, each one has its related text frame (ItemNumber, Name, Description, Price)
This catalogue type would only have 3 double spreads like the one below.
The text is provided in an Excel spreadsheet and changes throughout the process

TYPE B
similar arrangement of products, but up to 50 pages.
Also the product description is at the bottom of each page for each group of products on that page. and as you can see its quite heavily formatted and has a few en's and em's as well
so, only the positionNumber and the price is placed next to the products. the bottom text comes originally in an excel spreadsheet as well
(would be nice if that additional price could also update with changes in the excel document)

I was also testing trial versions of Indesign Plugins like InCatalog or InData..
probably too stupid to get them to work, or maybe I need custom scripting — would, in that case, javascript be a good idea?
I would tremendously appriciate if you could point me in the right direction or help me break it down in pseudocode or sthg..

Data Merge, third party plug-ins and XML all need some kind of structure to a document before anything can really be automated. The samples, while they have a content structure (that is, a picture has a description, price and name) it doesn't have a predetermined position on the page.
Assuming the excel file also has the picture name in one of the fields, data merge could be used to call in all the data and merged via multiple record layout into a new indesign file, but it wouldn't appear as the final layouts above... instead the file would appear as a grid. From here, the pictures and their captions need to be moved to their appropriate positions.
I've been umming and ahhing over what to write in the post but ultimately there is no turn-key solution. The best I can think of would still involve running a script on each page and then processing the result of that manually. Automated catalogues are ideal for the likes of phone directories, parts catalogues or school yearbook pictures. this catalogue is outside of those specs and I can't see a way of automating this... as a turn-key solution. I would be interested to see what other posters have to say but I think this is a bridge too far to automate.

I am screen sharing with my server at work from home. I would like to reboot the server after doing some updates, but I know the login screen is going to come up after I restart. Is it possible to set it up so that the login screen auto-populates or gets skipped?

I have a thesaurus with 1,000 entries.
Each entry looks like this:

I want to change the document, so that in each instance, the example sentence "(He likes bananas...) comes after the list of synonyms (as well as, in addition to...). The formatting is different for each (one is 100% black and the other is 70%).
I would like to know if there's a way to do this automatically.

Script to remove/untrust certifictate from firefox

Is there any mean to remove/untrust a certificate ( yes i'm talking about diginotar ca ) with a script or any other automated way ?
We use Firefox in corporate environment and we are wondering if we can do that automatically

There is an update 3.6.21 to disable that root certificate and there will be an update 3.6.22 shortly to restore some certificates that were disabled by accident.

Looking for Help with Active Directory Script to Remove a User from msExchDelegateListLink

I'm struggling to put together an Active Directory Powershell script that will remove a specific user from the msExchDelegateListLink.
It looks like Set-AdUser would do the trick. I would want to remove a user in the format of

Has anyone succeeded in doing this before?
