  • Difference between Group A/c and Chart of Account with serval Company Code

    Hi Friends,
Please explain the term chart of account with serval company code and also group a/c.
    Thanks and regards,
    Dev

    Hi Mahendra
The Chart of Accounts is a list/directory of the G/L acounts maintained in the company. This COA can be used by one or many company codes.
For e.g Co code A located in Delhi and Co code B In Mumbai may use the same COA for reporting as well as consolidation purpose.
Group COA is maintained when there are more than one COA (e.g country-specific and operating COA) being used in the company. In this case the COA maintain alternative account numbers to the same account for automatic updation and consolidation.
    I hope this helps.

  • One Bank account for Multiple company codes

Hello, Is it posible to have one Bank account assigned to mulitiple company codes ??
isn't it be a problem when we do BAI reconciliation.
Becuase all we get from bank is bank account number and transactions, and how reconciliation works in this situation if we had mulitiple company codes assigned to same bank account number.
Can you please suggest me, if this is possible at all.(assigned to mulitiple company codes).
    Thankyou.

Hi. For bank statement configuration you can only assign one bank account to one company code as mentioned by Akhil. The scenario you've described above is a pay-on-behalf process. If your payments are through AP, you create the bank account in the true legal entity and then when you configure the Company Codes (x,y, and z) in F110 payment program, then you set the Paying Company Code to be entity A. You don't need to configure the bank account in company codes x, y and z. When you run the AP payments, the system will know to check company A for the banking details. You will also be establishing an intercompany relationship with this so you would need OBYA setup as well. However, if you are trying to process payment requests, I do not think that the program adheres to this piece of config. It'll try to find the bank account in the respective company code's config. So sometimes in-house cash is implemented to this. hope that helps a bit.

  • Different Bank charges GL account for two company codes with same COA

    Hi,
While configuring OBXK ( Automatic GL account for bank charges)  , I see there is provision to enter only one GL account per chart of accounts.
We have two company codes using same chart of accounts but different bank charges GL account. Please tell me how to configure this.
    Thanks,
    suresh

    Hi,
    Thanks Krishnan and Chandra.
I agree with you it could be the same GL account for bank charges, but the business requirement is such that in one of the two company codes, bank charges are required to be tracked separately to be subsequently transferred to the other company code. This means two separate GL accounts are required for two company codes which needs to be configured in OBXK.
Hope this clarifies my query further.
    thanks,

  • Delete G/L Accounts for one company code when transaction data exists

SAP transaction OBR1 can be used to reset transaction data.
If you execute this transaction for a specific company code, the FI transaction data of that company is deleted. Because of the procedure to keep FI and CO in line, also the CO data has te be deleted.
But you can not reset CO transaction data for one company code. You have to reset CO transaction data for a whole controlling area.
If you can not delete the FI and CO transaction data for a specific G/L account in one company code, you can not delete that G/L account.
There exists another solution for the deletion of FI and CO transaction data for one company code, and thus for the deletion of G/L accounts?
Thank you very much for your feedback.

    Helllo,
I believe the account group information is what you get when loading hierarchies. Please look into the hierarchy extractor 0GL_ACCOUNT_T011_HIER.

    Hi Nirmala
    There are 2 issues
    1. OME9: Account Assignment Category A - You hve ticked GR Non Valuated there
Hence, accounting doc is not generated @ MIGO.. It is generated at MIRO....
If you want accounting doc at MIGO, then untick the same in OME9... Also, you would need to untick the same in PO, if available for modification....If not available, then delete the Line item and create a new one
    2. It seems you have not opened FY 2011 for assets...
Do AJAB to close 2010 and AJRW which would open 2011... You can open 2011 w/o closing 2010, provided 2009 is closed...

  • Global Chart of Accounts to individual company codes

    Hi
I would like to know the various conditions that should follow if we use a Global Chart of Accounts.
This Global chart of accounts is to be used by many company codes.
This Global chart of accounts will be used for consolidation. How the actual consolidation would take place ? Does it use the same principle of using the group account number in the individual company code's account number while creating the GL account master in the individual company code ? (I am confused because the company codes would be using the same account number as that is available in the Global chart of account). Or we dont have to enter the same account number again in the master GL of Individual company code ?
Your valuable views on this are welcome.

    Hi,
Within Operating Chart of A/C of each Co.Code, Group Chart of Account need to be given
Group Chart of A/C GL Codes need to be different than Operating Chart of A/C GL Codes.
Generally, First 4 / 5 Digits of GL Code in Operating Chart of A/C can be used as GL Code in Group Chart of A/C wherever they exactly correlate with each other.

Now I  want to change the Chart of Account to this company code. I gone to T code  OB62  from position go to my company code I changed the chart of account  but while saving the file I got thread  u201CReset company code data before changing the chart of accountsu201D
How to go further could anybody explain me.
    Thank you in advance
    krishna

If you really want to allocate a different chart of accounts to the company code, first of all reset the company-code specific data for the old chart of accounts.
    1. First of all you must, if it exists, reset the transaction data for this company code.
    2. Finally, carry out the resetting of the company code-dependent G/L account master data (without the general master data).
    Note:
When dealing with large quantities of data, resetting the master data or transaction data can be very time-consuming. In this case, it is advisable to schedule the running of these reports as a batch run.

  • Multiple Chart of Accounts for one holding company.

    Hey,
I recently encountered a scenario where a Holding Company will have several companies under 5 different sectors under it. If we call the holding company 'ABC', all the other companies under the ABC company will be segregated to 6 main sectors which spread across, leisure, Retails, Sales, Healthcare, etc.
If I was to implement Hyperion Planning for the above scenario, what would be the best approach?
    What I think would be feasible is to;
Create 5 Chart of Accounts for the 5 different sectors under which the companies would be allocated to, and map all these 5 Chart of Accounts to a Chart of Accounts of the holding company (ABC Company) using Hyperion Financial Data Quality Management and the Hyperion Data Quality Management Adapter.
Would you agree this to be correct?
Appreciate your thoughts and any experience anyone may have with such an implementation.

    Hi,
         Do what ruju posted,except:-
Assign alternate chart of accounts to your company code.
This has to be the last step since you are doing it retroactivly(because of b) ). Once the assignment is made:-
                      a) Assignment   Account to Alt.Account   has to be 1:1
                      b)  The alt.account can not be changed/entered once the account has been posted to.
Once you are productive, depending on your system design either make the alt.Account a required field or create a validation to give the same effect. This is to avoid the situation where you are constantly unassigning/assigning the country COA because the entry was forgotten.
    Kind regards

  • Changing GL Control Account of existing Business Partner

Hi, We have created and processed against some business partners. However the "Accounts Receivable", under the "Accounting" tab, the wrong GL account was selected. Now it is greyed out because there is postings. Is there anyway to reallocate the transactions to the correct account as well a fixing the "Accounts Receivable" account?

I don't think so it is possible to change the control account for a BP after transction are done.
Alternatively put the BP on hold and create a new BP with proper control accout.

    Hi,
Control area is having the authorization to allow the chart of account for a particular company code.
The company codes are belonging to a particualr Controlling area, definitly they (Company code)are using the same chart of A/C is used by CA.
defenitly CA (controlling area) has only one chart of A/C.  So if you need to maintain the company codes are belonging to different chart of A/Cs, you have to assign them different CAs which have their own chart of A/Cs.
    This is my understanding...
    regards,

  • Change chart of accounts in Controlling area

    Hi all,
How can I  change the chart of accounts in controlling area?
I've already changed chart of accouns in FA CoCode Global data, and I have to change chart of accounts in controlling area;  In OKKP chart of accounts is in display mode

I get the message; where I have to assign Chart of acc to Controling area in OKKP is not possible
Differing charts of accounts: INT - CAXX
    Message no. KT299
    Diagnosis
The system makes consistency checks during assignment of a company code to a controlling area as part of assignment control.
The same checks take place if assignments already exist and you change the basic data in the controlling area, or if you define the controlling area and company code as a 1:1 structure.
If the check finds an error, the system cannot execute the function ("Assign" or"Change basic data"). If you do not maintain the required data for the consistency check (such as currency, chart of accounts, or fiscal year variant in the company code), this also results in an error message.
Chart of accounts INT, controlling area XX01, does not agree with chart of accounts CAXX, company code XX01.
    System Response
    Processing is terminated.
    Procedure
Ensure that the same chart of accounts is assigned to controlling area and company code.
