Is it possible to change dial out digit to a symbol?

I'm using Call Manager 8.0.3.20000-2 with "9" as the dial-out digit. We're getting so many accidental 911 calls that the administration has asked me to change the "9" to something else - either another digit or a symbol such as "*" or "#". I've been reading that most companies choose to go with either "8" or "7" but my boss wants to go with a symbol. Is it possible? If so, is it recommended? He also wants me to provide documentation.

Most customers avoid this problem by deleting the 911 pattern and instead requiring users to dial 9911. This is a much smaller change for users to adapt to than changing your entire OffNet prefix digit.
A less commonly choosen option would be to uncheck Urgent Priority box on the 911 pattern. This way the user has the T302 inter-digit timeout period to dial more digits (default at 15 seconds, most installers tune this down to ~5) before it will dial 911. If you do this be sure you test it afterwards!

I believe the buildspaces are domain dependent and possibly the wporkspaces. The components can be developed across domains as otherwise you would not be able to change SAP code.
What this implies is the deletion of everything you have after saving all developments in SCA's and then redefining new tracks etc.
Probably esier to re-install cleanly and bang in the developed SCA's

Best practice to Change Dial plan?

Customer has made plenty of misdialed 911 calls so they want to change the dial plan. They have CUCM, CUC and UCCX .. I will try to suggest putting a delay for 3 sec or so and blocking 911! or 911!# translation pattern .. but in case if they do want to change their dial out number.. what's the best practice for this? I tried looking for a suggestion or document but couldn't find it... at this point I can only think of copying existing RP's and change the dial out number to 8 and if required if they will have an H.323 gateway then might require configuration on dial peers... Any suggestion on this is appreciated? Thanks

Hi Vishal,
If 911 is being dialed accidentally, you can try configuring a 9.911 or 911# route pattern. 9.911 will require you to change the destination pattern and forward digit settings on dial-peer or you can actually strip it on cucm itself and will not require a change on dial-peers. Other than that you need to check your dial-plan and see if there are any router patterns that are overlapping with 911 you can try editing them as well by changing the first digit for those route patterns to something other than 9.

So, I have an HP Pavilion g7-1075dx Notebook with Windows 7. I'm an avid gamer and wish to play the newest games. However, there's one problem thats keeping me from doing so. Alot of the newer games require newer video/graphics cards. This particular laptop has an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4250. The newest games seem to require ATI Radeon HD 4850 and above. This is the only thing thats keeping me from playing games like Starcraft II on the highest settings OR in the case of Star Wars: The Old Republic, it almost keeps me from playing the game, period, due to the graphics being too much for my current card to handle, causing massive lag. I was hoping I could change the video card. Upgrade. However, i've heard that with most laptops or notebooks you can't upgrade anything other than the RAM. I'm hoping anyone on here can help me out and tell me if it is possible to get a new video card for my laptop. We don't have a desktop computer so this laptop is my only hope for a long time to play newer PC games.

Since the late 2009 iMacs came out, replacing the hard drive has caused the internal Hard Drive Fan to start running at around 6000RPM.
This is due to Apple replacing the external Hard Drive temperature sensor with a proprietary firmware and using the drives internal sensor.
Replacement drives do not contain the firmware to deliver temperature data on the temperature sensor cable.
When the iMac does not receive a good signal from the hard drive it puts the fan at full speed to protect the drive.
If you replace your drive, your iMac will initially seem fine, but soon the fan will begin to speed up to full speed. Resetting the SMC (System Management Controller) will have a temporary effect, but again the fan will speed up.
Fixes people have used in the past included:
Using smcFanControl and the terminal to set a MAX speed for the fan and writing scripts to start this after every sleep/restart.
Shorting the temperature sensor cable (Not a possibility on 2011 iMacs) this tricks the iMac into thinking the drives temperature is very low, hence slow fan speed.
Both these fixes are less then perfect and leave the drive in a dangerous situation with no protection from overheating.
Another option people try is other Fan Control software. These programs will not work for this particular issue as they often only control the base speed, and if they do control the fans actual speed they rely on the temperature reported by the sensor which is now incorrect.
HDD Fan Control
HDD Fan Control works to fix this issue by reading the drives internal temperature using the S.M.A.R.T protocol and set the fans actual speed to a value good to protect the drive.
It runs at startup and continually to always control the fan correctly, prevent the loud fan noise and protect the drive from overheating

Is it possible to change the size of the 'Close' button in Full Screen viewing mode?

I am currently using Firefox for a kiosk type scenario. We require that the browser run full screen. The issue is that the 'Close' button is not large enough for users to consistently see, so they're having issues figuring out how to close an active browser window.
Can anyone tell me if it's possible to change this icon? I've tried using themes, but they tend to theme everything but the close button.

Hi Mudda, I don't see any way myself to set any particular starting position for your text. It looks like the best way to emulate this behavior would be to add a new line with lots of tab characters or spaces to place your new text at a specific offset from the left. You can also use Append Table to Report and wire in a 2D string array with only a few positions filled in with your various text labels as shown below. This will space text labels pretty well across the page. Try it out and see if it works for you. You could be more clever and build the 2D array programmatically if you wanted more control over position.

Yes, it's possible. Video and instructions litter the web. It's not too hard, it's just not designed for user upgrade, and it will clearly void your warranty.
If I were you, I'd put a 128GB SSD device in it if you're concerned about speed. 1.8" 128GB SSD are showing up for reasonable prices. 64GB SSDs are downright cheap now. But in an Air, with almost no headroom and limited heat tolerances, etc., I would not put an out-of-spec drive in it. An appropriate SSD will fit the spec.

Is it possible to change the default URL when creating new hyperlinks?

I'm currently working to take a 128 page catalog that was created in InDesign for print and turn it into a interactive PDF to post on our companies website. The catalog contains thousands of part numbers and I'd like to link each one to its corresponding stock status page on our website that gives current availability and pricing for any particular customer.
So say I'm dealing with part number "XXXX". When I go to add the hyperlink the default web address it spits out is " http://XXXX ". Instead of that, would it be possible to change the default to " http://forums.adobe.com/discussion/XXXX/1 ". Obviously I just used this website as an example, but it would save so much time if I could avoid having to type the exact same URL every time.
Or maybe is there a quicker way to do this other than what I am currently trying?
