Is it possible to create AIR app in server?

Hi
Does Adobe (or someone else) have any solution for server-side AIR app creation. I would like to offer my clients tools for uploading their AS3 or Flash Builder project to my server where actual compiling takes place... like for instance PhoneGap Build works....

Of cause it's possible and simple.
1. put flex sdk on the server
2. install JRE or JDK on the server
3. run path_to_flex_sdk/bin/mxmlc with your custom compile options: http://www.docsultant.com/site2/articles/flex_cmd.html

  • Guide to create air apps for Mac appstore?

    Hi all,
I was wondering if there is any guide for publishing an air app on the Mac AppStore. All I found so far is a simple tutorial by Pigsels which is written with air3.2 in mind.
I can't seem to find any official articles from Adobe about this subject.
    Questions I have are:
    - is it possible to export to Mac AppStore from flash cs6?
    - are there any guidelines I have to follow? Like should I create minimize and close buttons from within flash? Or are they generated by apple?
    - how to test apps on your Mac before uploading to the Mac AppStore?
Has anyone here been able to publish something in this store? Some tips would be really appreciated.
    Thanks!

Okay, I figured it out myself.
Here's the solution for anyone interested:
    - In Flash CS6 create an Air for Desktop Application
    - In publish settings choose to publish a Mac Installer. This will create an .app file.
    - Follow the steps from this forum: http://forums.adobe.com/message/4564789#4564789
I had a little trouble signing the apps, but this buildscript from the guy in the forums really helped a lot: Just follow al the steps and you will succeed...
Well, I managed to get my apps uploaded to apple. Don't know if they will get approved, but I'll just wait and see...
    Hope this helps a bit!
------ here's the buildscript for your terminal ------
    cp Info.plist <APPNAME>.app/Contents
    cp Icon.icns <APPNAME>.app/Contents/Resources
    chmod -R 777 <APPNAME>.app/
    rm <APPNAME>.app/Contents/Frameworks/Adobe\ AIR.framework/Versions/Current/Resources/WebKit.dylib

  • Is it possible to run AIR apps without installing them?

    Hi there,
Just have a sudden thought. Most Adobe AIR apps I have seen required installation before execution. Is it actually launch the application directly from the .air file without installatoin?
You know, some users are quite reluntant to "install" software onto their machine, and moreover in some environment "installation" requires special priviliege. For some tiny utilities, (e.g. a simple calculator, you name it), it would be really handy for users to be able to exceute them directly after downloading the .air file, or even directly from web pages.
    Thanks,
    Kenneth

I see. Thanks for your help.
Really wish Adobe would consider adding direct execution feature to AIR.

  • Is it possible to create an app to lock certain features and buttons?

Basically I want to have an app that makes the phone function like a demo retail phone. It would lock the ability to turn it off via the power switch and prevent people from messing with the settings while still being able to explore the feature base of the device.
Is this something that is possible? I'm not looking for the Guided Access feature as is has a time limit. I'm looking for something more permanent until an authorized user disables the app. I also don't want to run that config that keeps it locked in a single app as I'd like users to be able to explore features, again akin to the demo phones in Apple stores.
Google has apps that provide these features, but I need one for iOS.

I don'T (I prefer buying my apple products new, love my air) but I have a friend opening up a small shop in town and he was optioning selling used ones. I've always liked merchandising displays and thought I would help him, but people can really mess around with iphone if all the features are unlocked. Hence my question

  • Using Dreamweaver to create AIR app from HTML site, FLV loaded by placed SWF not loading

    Hello.
I'm using Dreamweaver to create an HTML-based site that has pages with FLV-based videos that are loaded using a SWF file. The SWF file is just the player / skin. When I preview or publish to AIR, the videos do not show up. I'm sure others have asked how to accomplish this but I'm having difficulty finding the solution to this issue. Can someone share with them their solution please?
    Thank you!
    Robert

Steveejay, I was having the same problem. It turns out that
mine didn't like the fact that I was using the "POST" method in my
loadMovie() call. I changed them to "GET", and it works fine in the
web page now. Just doesn't work when previewing in Flash.

  • Store the out put of smartform in a directory which is created on app..Serv

    Dear All,
I want to store the out put of smartform in a directory which is created on application server.so that the user in future can directly print the output with out again executing the smartform.....
    regards,
    Sudheer.G

    hi Sudheer,
Correct me if I am worng but you cannot issue output without executing smartform.
If you want to just store the output in App server then use the PDF output option in SmartForm attributes. Then use
    OPEN DATASET.
    READ DATASET.
    CLOSE DATASET.
to store the PDF on app servee.

    hi friends
any one can help me please...

in other pcs the program not run correctly exactly show me empty window with progress dots like this :
    with my respects

What are you expecting to display? Is it data? Images?
It's possible that you've written your code such that it references a path on YOUR specific machine. Always try to avoid references to C:/ or /<yourUserName>/someFolder as you're not guaranteed that they'll exist on other machines.

  • Convert HTML/javascript AIR app to flex-based AIR app?

    Hi all,
I've already built an AIR app using HTML/javascript that I
    would like to monetize.
I would like to use O2app's E-Commerce framework, which right
now only supports Flex-created AIR apps.
My question: Is there a simple way to "convert" an
HTML/javascript AIR app to Flex 3 format? I'd rather not have to
rebuild the app from scratch in Flex 3 if I don't have to. :)
    Thanks,
    Al

    Hi,
There's no simple way to convert an HTML AIR app to flex.
But it is possible to create HTML Root windows from a Flex
AIR App. By root window, I mean the same kind of window that is
launched when you launch an HTML AIR App.
For more info, look at the HTMLLoader.createRootWindow()
call. (This will be available from a Flex AIR app as well)

  • Newby Question: Can AIR app have BOTH use HTML and Flex?

I need to make a desktop app using HTML and JavaScript but I want 99% of the logic to be written in Flex.  Is that possible?
Also, do I need to buy Flash in order to compile Flex?  Or does AIR SDK include a compiler?
    Pete

Yes, it is possible.  For Air apps, Flex has an html control that is basically a self-contained webkit browser you can drop into your application.  You can insert html either by loading an html string, or pointing the browser to a particular location on your filesystem or on the internet.  As far as javascript, it can either be part of the site you load into the browser, or you can "cross-script" javascript in action script.  Cross-scripting may be better in certain instances, because then you can use controls written in flex to access or manipulate the html content.  To cross-script, you do something like this: var dom:Object = html.window.document, where "html" is the id of your html control.  Then, you can access javascript methods and properties through the dom object, like this: var p1:Object = dom.getElementById("p1").  See the webkit docs for available javascript methods and properties.
No, you don't need to buy Flash.  The Flex SDK has a compiler.  You still might want to get Flex Builder (or the upcoming Flash Builder, which is the same as Flex Builder, but very different than Flash--not confusing at all...).  Or I think there are some third party IDEs for Flex, one or more of  which might be free, but I'm not sure.  I imagine it would be pretty hard for someone just learning flex and air to start building apps without Flex Builder.  Also, I think the beta of Flash Builder is still available for free, if you want to try it out.

  • AIR App Made in Flash AS3 Installer Error

I created a desktop AIR 2.6 app using AS3 in Flash 5.5.  After I publish it and try to install it I get this error:
The app works great when I just run the swfs.  I have published apps before using the same software and haven't had any problems.  This time I am pulling in mutliple swfs (haven't done that before), could that be the issue? I'm just spit balling here . . .

Hey demennenoh, thanks for the heads up. I feel a little stupid though. I had created air apps before and it has always asked me if I want to replace the one that is already installed, but not this time. Uninstall and reinstall fixed it...thanks again!

  • AIR app as Windows Service

    Hi!
    I have one question.
Is it possible to create AIR application which will work like
Windows Service (start and stop by request from other
    application)?

I'm not sure if this will work, or even why you'd want to do
    it...
but there is a program in the Windows server resource kit
    called SRVANY.EXE
which allows a normal exe to operate as a service

  • JSViews to create Fiori Apps

    Hi Guys,
From past some months i have been working on SAPUI5 and have developed some application for desktops only.
In order to create these application i used to create jsview this was just my choice as i feel quite comfortable with Javascript and jsviews.
Now i decided to create some small Fiori apps for my desktop applications but where ever i tried looking for  all the examples are  in XMLViews and it is quite some pain to code the xmlviews.
I was wondering if it is possible to create fiori apps using jsview..? As far as i think it is possible but i couldn't find anywhere the controls created using jsview all i find is controls in xmlviews .
As of now i was referring to SAPUI5 Explored to check out controls for sap.m library but all the examples seems to have been created using xmlviews.
I was just wondering when all controls for desktop applications are created using jsview as shown here SAPUI5 SDK - Demo Kit
in the demokit ... then why a sudden change in the way it was developed..?
Can you tell me where can i find all sap.m controls created in jsview..???
    Thanks in advance,
    Vishesh.

Yeah... I'm sad with this too...
