Is it possible to create class programatically?

I want to create a class from a string that contains java code.
For example: I have the following string
String code = "class HelloWorld{
public static void main(String [] args){
System.out.println("Hello World");
I wonder if I can convert it to java class programatically on runtime and use it.

* Main.java
package sometest;
import java.io.FileOutputStream;
import java.lang.Runtime;
* @author Ganesh
public class Main {
/** Creates a new instance of Main */
public Main() {
* @param args the command line arguments
public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception{
// TODO code application logic here
FileOutputStream fos = new FileOutputStream("HelloWorld.java");
String code = "class HelloWorld{ " +
"public static void main(String [] args){"+
"System.out.println(\"Hello World\"); " +
fos.write(code.getBytes());
java.lang.Runtime rt = java.lang.Runtime.getRuntime();
try {
rt.exec("javac HelloWorld.java");
System.out.println("Compile OK");
}catch (Exception e) {
System.out.println("Compile not OK");
try {
rt.exec("java HelloWorld");
System.out.println("Run OK");
}catch (Exception e) {
System.out.println("Run not OK");
System.out.println("OK");
this would work?

  • Is it possible clear the class loader cache programatically?

    Hi,
    Is it possible clear the class loader cache programatically?
    Thanks

    By the cache do you mean the loaded classes? If so, you can do that by discarding any pointer you have to the class loader and creating a new class loader. ...though I wonder why you would need to do that...

    Is it possible to create a javafx class without extending Application class ? If yes, how ?

      There is no  such thing as a javafx  class.  It is a regular  java class.  The Aapplication class is  the entry
    point  for JavaFX application.  You have to extend the Application class to create Javafx  application .

  • Is it possible to create attribute in Z Class of type any

    Hi Friends,
    I am working on a requirement to fine tune the code. for this i need to store the values retreived from a remote FM call in a global internal table. I am trying to check whether is it possible to create a global attribute of type any. This  would help me to use the same internal table for down processing also. other wise i need to create several gloabl internal tables with the required structures.
    any pointers on this would be very helpful.
    Thanks,
    udaya

    These generic types can only be used for field symbols and import / export parameters of methods and function modules. Here is a thought though: You can create some sort of container in which you can store all kinds of internal tables from your function module.
    1. Create a global type in DDIC, or a local type in your class.
    Code for local type:
    TYPES: BEGIN OF ty_container,
             name        TYPE char30,
             container   TYPE REF TO data,
           END OF ty_container.
    TYPES: tty_container TYPE SORTED TABLE OF ty_container WITH UNIQUE KEY name.
    2. Create a private / protected attribute when using local type or any attribute you like when using a global type (set step 1).
    3. Create a method (let's call it ADD_DATA) which imports the name of the structure the internal table from your FM is based on and the actual internal table. The import parameter for this internal table is typed TABLE (generic).
    4. Coding in method:
      DATA: ls_itab TYPE ty_container.
      DATA: lv_data_ref       TYPE REF TO data.
      FIELD-SYMBOLS: <lt_value> TYPE table.
      CREATE DATA lv_data_ref LIKE ipt_itab.
      ASSIGN lv_data_ref->* TO <lt_value>.
      <lt_value> = ipt_itab[].
      ls_itab-name = itabname.
      ls_itab-container = lv_data_ref.
      INSERT ls_itab INTO TABLE gt_container.
    Now the global attribute gt_container can hold any kind of internal table you add to it. It can be read using the NAME column field.
    Hope this makes any sense to you, if not let me know.
    BTW: Doesn't look like an ABAP Performance and Tuning issue (other forum).

  • Creating a test in PDF: Is it possible to create Right and Wrong answer fields in PDF?

    Very new to this.  I may be way off, but Im trying to create a test for some students to do in class.  Is it possible to create fields that turn green when right and red when wrong?  Also can you have a field that accumulates the right answers to give a score?

    Sure you can, with a bit of JavaScript. What sort of fields will you be using and what part of the field do you want to be green or red?

  • I dont understand creating classes they seem a waste of time and efficiency

    I dont understand why we would want to create classes with constructors and get and set statements... I know that VB and Java did not create these just to have us writing extra code so I am missing something in my thinking.
    I read about data hiding and that I understand I guess...but everytime my professors want me to create a class then create an object from that class to access it I dont really get it. I know how to do the basics of it but I can do all of it in my main or the primary class whats the benefit of creating a whole entire class such as the following?
    Everytime I get an assignment and they are like create a class and I try to rack my head for a good idea but the nearest analogy I can come up with is this... creating your own class seems like one of those old straws you drink out of with all the loops, yes you can make it go around in a big loop but why waste time? you want to get to point A to point B so create the most efficient way to get there if possible.
    I am sure the problem is I am not seeing something and there is some logic missing but I just am getting irritated as I am not seeing it and I am finding it, its like I add an extra obstacle course to my code for no other reason than to run through a bunch of extra tasks that I could perform in my main class or main.
    input is welcome to help me arrive at some type of enlightenment thanks
    Class may not be the correct wording for this as I know we have to have a class but what I mean is a non application class. The class I have below goes with another class that actually does a lot of stuff but I am forced to push data through this class that basically does nothing but run water through some different pipes if you will. To me thats a waste when I can do everything in my original class which was called menu that I am messing with and that creates an array for a user who wants to keep a list of his items and prices of those items in inventory.
    public class Item
    private String itemName;
    private double itemPrice;
              public Item()
    public Item (String item, double price)
    setName(item);
    setPrice(price);
    public String getName()
         return itemName;
    public void setName(String item)
         itemName = item;
    public double getPrice()
         return itemPrice;
    public void setPrice(double price)
         itemPrice= price;

    What I was plugging into it and please forgive the code as its not finished... (I am still messing with it) its just for learning and I am required to have certain parts in the Item Class and Certain parts in the Menu class..... But you it pushes through the input to the java bean.... in a case like this I just dont see the need for doing it not that I can think of anyway.
    import java.util.Scanner;//my imports for scanner so can read from the screen
    import java.util.*;//imports for my array I used astrix to just import it all as the book said it does not have any negative affects.
    public class Menu //My application class Menu that contains my main
         public static void main(String[] args)//Main method
              final int NUMBER_Of_Elements = 30; //created a symbolic constant so that I only have to change the constant
              //to edit the size of the array if I should want to change it.
              Item[]inventory = new Item[NUMBER_Of_Elements];//I create a new array object with the constant as the number of elements.
              Scanner sc = new Scanner (System.in);//created object from the scanner class used to get input from the console screen.
              System.out.println("Please enter Item on first line and price on second line.");//outputted text to prompt user and give instructions.
              System.out.println("Enter STOP to exit");//instructions on how to exit the program. I would have rather used a different
              //word than stop here. If my choice I would have used "exit" as its more widely used and to promote uniformity.
              int count;//count variable used to count my loops very important as we use it to control our arrays and loops here.
              double price;//our variable that we plug in values from the user via the console.
              String item;//same as previously mentioned for the "price"
                        System.out.println("Wings Coffee Shop Menu");
              System.out.println("");
              System.out.println("Menu Item Price");
              for (count=0; count<inventory.length; ++count)//This is our for loop it uses the length method to control how many times
              //it runs. In this case inventory.length = 30 elements so would run 30 times unless it stopped early.
                   item = sc.nextLine();//reads the input from console into the item variable.
                   if(item.equalsIgnoreCase("STOP"))//if statement that states if = stop (ignores case sensitivity) then it will break out of the loop.
                   break;//the break command which is executed if the if statement is true.
                   price = Double.parseDouble(sc.nextLine());//
                   inventory[count]= new Item(item, price);
                   Item Call = new Item(item, price);
                   System.out.printf("%-13s %.2f\n", Call.getName(), Call.getPrice());
              System.out.println("Wings Coffee Shop Menu");
              System.out.println("");
              System.out.println("Menu Item Price");
    //           for(int x = 0; x < count; ++x)
    //           System.out.printf("%15s\n",inventory[x].toString());

    //           String[] namesOfItems = {"Coffee", "Milk", "Soda", "Bagel", "Croissant", "Donut"};
    //           double[] prices = {3.99, 2.99, 2.49, 2.99, 2.49, 1.99};
    //           for(int x = 0; x < prices.length; ++x)
    //           System.out.printf("%-13s %.2f\n", namesOfItems[x], prices[x]);

  • Is it possible to create Resuable component in Swing

    Can Some one tell me Is it possible to create Resuable component in Swing?
    I have around 100 applications and i have to create a common Component and I have to use for this to all 100 Applications.
    If possible can u send me code.

    Hi Prosun Bondopadhyay  ,
                   Component controller is the base of a wda component. its can be considered as the base class. all the other views can be considered as the sub classes of component  controller. so without the base class there is no existence for sub class rt?
    like we can use all the methods and attributes of a component controller(main class) across all the view(sub class) and the viceversa is not possible.
    hence we cannot create a wda without component controller.

  • Is it possible to create a pop up screen with alv tree within it?

    I was wondering whether it is possible to create a pop up screen where an ALV tree is within the pop up screen and the user may select a record from it..
    is there a function module for such function?

    you may use class cl_gui_alv_tree and display it in a popup screen. Look at RSDEMO_DIALOGBOX_CONTROL program (popup + cl_gui_picture control), and you combine it with BCALV_TREE_04 (cl_gui_alv_tree) to replace cl_gui_picture. You may access all demos from menu SE38, Environment, Examples (and finally Controls Examples in your case)

  • Is it possible to create a panel with JavaScript?

    Hi friends
    As I´m studying JavaScript and the user interface creation...would like to ask (more for curiosity):
    Is it possible to create a new panel for Illustrator using JavaScript? Or this is only possible using C++?
    (in the Window Class UI we have the "palette" creation method..so wondering the result of it too)
    Thank you a lot
    Gustavo

    Hi Larry
    Thank you a lot for sharing this reference. This has alternative explanations from the JavaScript Tools Guide that already come with the Extended Script Toolkit SDK (I´m reading this and finding very very useful).
    My question, however, is not covered in any of the manuals.
    I´d like to confirm if a panel (like Brushes, Swatches, Appearance and Layer Illustrator panels) can be made only via C++??? (and not via JavaScript).
    Can I assume the Script UI capabilites in JavaScript can resume itself on creating dialog boxes only (not panels that persist, keep opened in the software, also could be docked in the side of app)?
    Thank you
    Gustavo.

  • Is it possible to create a custom E-mail Notification?

    Dear all,
    We have a requirement where the customer would like an additional email notification in the RFx process which is not available in the E-Sourcing system.
    What they want to do is send an email to Vendors who did not get awarded in the RFx Process and let them know.
    Is it possible to create a custom email notification in any way, perhaps using the javax.mail classes?
    import javax.mail.*;
    import javax.mail.internet.*;
    If anyone has prior experience with this, please let me know. I would appreciate pointers on this.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Reshma

    Hi Thashin,
    I understand you have done custom jar email notification for Transnet. I need to do this now for another component, Task Escalation. please contact me regarding correct way to do this. I have developed the custom java code to access Task info. What I need to know is that, does e-sourcing use its own queing mechanism to send out emails, if so what packages in IAPI does this use, or does it use normal java mail api to send out mails?
    Assistance will be highly appreciated.

  • Possible to create a custom renderer for rendering standard component ?

    This is in context for creating dynamic Data tables. Is it possible to create a custom Renderer for rendering component (standard) without creating a custom component?
    namanc

    Let's assume you want to create a custom renderer which will be used to render the error-messages (the h:messages tag). The component-family in this case is: javax.faces.Messages, the renderer-type javax.faces.Messages.
    Therefor in your application's faces-config.xml add this renderer-statement (inside a render-kit, obviuosly):
    <faces-config>
      <!-- other stuff like components, managed beans, navigation-rules,... -->
      <render-kit>
        <renderer>
          <component-family>javax.faces.Messages</component-family>
          <renderer-type>javax.faces.Messages</renderer-type>
          <renderer-class>my.very.special.MessagesRenderer</renderer-class>
        </renderer>
      </render-kit>
      <!-- other renderers... -->
    </faces-config>The code for MessagesRenderer is very dependent on your needs, therefor I will not post something here. Basically you need to extend javax.faces.render.Renderer. For help in that camp, surf to the online tutorials or get yourself a book (I learned a lot from Kito Mann's "JSF in Action"). Additionally grab the source for Sun's RI AND Myfaces and dig into that java-code. There is a huge learning potential looking at that source-material.

  • Creating class via reflection

    Hi,
    Is there a possibility to create dynamically class and add to it methods/fileds/annotaions etc.
    What I am thinking of is to create jpa entity class dynamiclly and use jpa provider to create table for it.

    Not with reflection, no. You need something like BCEL or ASM for that. But what are you hoping to achieve? You create a JPA entity "dynamically". Fine. Then what? How does your code know what to do with it? How will data get into it? What's caused you to come up with this idea?

  • How can I create classes dynamically?

    Guys
    My requirment is I want to create classes and their instancess too dynamically. First is it possible in Java?
    If so, then my next question is how can I refer such dynamically created classes in my code to avoid compilation error.
    Thanks in advance
    Regards
    Sunil

    For other ways to generate classes on runtime you could also have a look at BCEL:
    http://jakarta.apache.org/bcel
    And dynamic proxies:
    http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/guide/reflection/proxy.html
    If so, then my next question is how can I refer such
    dynamically created classes in my code to avoid compilation
    error.Generally the classes that you load should either implement some interface or extend some abstract class you know of at compile time so that the compiler knows what methods are available for use. If that's not possible you can only use reflection.

  • Is it possible to create java standalone programs with java ME 8

    Hi,
    Comparing java ME to java SE, I have the impression that midlets are similar to applets.
    When working with java SE, I usually make standalone programs.
    Now, I wonder if it is also possible to create also standalone programs for java ME, if the classes are only  using java ME API's.
    I already noticed that netbeans does not allow to build a project that does not contain a midlet, but maybe, it is possible to create a jar file
    using the javac and jar commands. Or is there a specific reason why netbeans does not allow to build a project without midlets?
    The reason for asking is, that I often make small tools in java that ae then called from a linux script. I imagine that this might be useful on the raspberry pi as well.
    Thanks in advance
    Jef

    Hi Jef -
    Comparing java ME to java SE, I have the impression that midlets are similar to applets.
    Sort of - similar life cycle methods - so conceptually, yes.
    Now, I wonder if it is also possible to create also standalone programs for java ME, if the classes are only  using java ME API's.
    In a way, yes. If you build an project, you will notice a JAD file and JAR file in the dist directory of the project.  JAD is the descriptor for a MIDlet - in mobile devices, the JAD
    file is loaded first to determine if the MIDlet has enough privileges to load and run, before the corresponding JAR file is downloaded.
    However, the JAD file can also be included in the Manifest of the JAR and the JAR copied to the embedded device manually and run there.
    I already noticed that netbeans does not allow to build a project that does not contain a midlet, but maybe, it is possible to create a jar file
    using the javac and jar commands. Or is there a specific reason why netbeans does not allow to build a project without midlets?
    You can build JAR files and include them into Java ME Embedded projects, but just like Applets, to use the Application Management System (AMS) on the Raspberry Pi, you must have a MIDlet to run.
    Perhaps you mean that you would like to launch the AMS and load a MIDlet from the command line on the Pi?
    If so, take a look at this section of the Getting Started Guide for the Raspberry Pi.

  • Is it possible to create a spatial index on a view?

    Hi
    Is it possible to create a spatial index on a view?
    We would like to link our spatial tables to each other (using only one of the SDO_GEOMETRY fields) in a view & make it very easy so that anybody can work with the data.
    Thanks Caroline.

    Simon,
    In order for autoregistration to work, you first need to make sure that all entries in mdsys.sdo_geom_metadata_table are registered with SDE. All tables not just one schema. None of our spatial tables or views exist in the SDE schema.
    Also make sure all Oracle Spatial tables in sde.table_registry are held in mdsys.sdo_geom_metadata_table.
    When a user makes a database connection in ArcCatalog, all Oracle Spatial tables will be registered with SDE automatically. Also, entries will be inserted into mdsys.sdo_geom_metadata_table and indexes will be created. If you do not have primary key fields, you will have to Register with Geodatabase and it will create the OBJECTID field.
    This did not work for us originally. but after cleaning up metadata and installing SP1, it is working now and it is very convenient.
    VIEWS:
    You have to create the view thru SDE. You cannot register foreign views. There are bugs in support of views containing SDO_GEOMETRY objects. I have been told some problems will be fixed in SP2 and there may be a patch out to address some others.
    Here are the incidents I have filed in reference to views:
    1.
    I created a view consisting of a geometry column from a "foreign" Oracle
    Spatial table (SDO_GEOMETRY) and corresponding attribution in another table.
    I used the following command to create the view through SDE:
    C:\arcgis\arcexe81\BIN>sdetable -o create_view -T gis_v_traffic -t
    "trims_traffi c_geom,traffic" -c
    "trims_traffic_geom.geometry,trims_traffic_geom.fid,traffic.i
    d_number,traffic.aadt" -w "trims_traffic_geom.mslink = traffic.mslink" -u
    gis -p spatial -i esri_sde -s JJ0DN10
    ArcSDE 8.1 Build 832 Thu Mar 22 14:08:07 PST 2001 Attribute Administration
    Utility ----------------------------------------------------- Successfully
    created view gis_v_traffic.
    I can preview the geometries in ArcCatalog without error.
    However, when I try to select a feature in ArcMap I get the following error:
    The instruction at "0x125222dd" referenced memory at "0x00000000". The
    memory could not be "read".
    I click ok.
    Then I get this error:
    The insruction at "0x5f8012d3" referenced memory at "0x00000004". the memory
    could not be "read".
    I click ok and ArcMap terminates.
    I can select features from the spatial table the view is pointing to, but
    not from the view itself.
    2.
    I need to create views utilizing database links to tie attribution in other
    databases to geometries created for that data in a spatial database.
    I issued the following command from command prompt and got this error:
    C:\arcgis\arcexe81\BIN>sdetable -o create_view -T link_v_traffic -t
    "trims_traff ic_geom,[email protected]" -c
    "trims_traffic_geom.geometry,trims_traffic_ge
    om.fid,[email protected],[email protected]" -w

    Spatial Views created on Oracle Spatial LRS layers containing SDO_GEOMETRY

    -e slM -k SDO_GEOME
    TRY -s JJ0DN10 -i esri_sde -u gis -p spatial -c fid -C SDE

    added successfully to a map.
    However, there is no way of adding data to a map from a spatial database
    view containing an SDO_GEOMETRY object which was created externally from
    SDE.

    and ArcSDE 8.1.1.
    4.
    SDE does not support spatial database views which reference snapshot
    objects.
    I was unable to create a view using sdetable -o create_view which referenced
    a snapshot object.
    The snapshot was created using the following sql syntax:
    CREATE SNAPSHOT SNP_TEST
    BUILD IMMEDIATE
    REFRESH FAST

    objects. The creator may grant privileges on their
    objects to other users or roles. Other users can grant select and insert,
    update, or delete on data objects they own to creator. The DBA may create a
    role that can be granted select, insert, update, and delete privileges on
    data objects
    owned by other users. The role can be granted to the creator:
    create session
    create table
    create procedure
    create sequence
    create trigger
    unlimited tablespace
    select, insert, update, or delete on other user's objects
    It might be worthwhile to rebuild your SDE metadata. I can walk you thru that if you need help.
    Hope this helps.
